Steve; the words in the Original Received Text; which were translated into English "what things shall be hereafter.." is more accurately "..with these things;" as adding to what is already being said in the messages to the Churches. The idea that John being translated into the Spirit in ch. 4 is supposed to signify the rapture of the Church is misled, and contradicts the entire intent of the Book.
  • Dossie Dednam on Philippians 3 - 8 years ago
Forgetting, is as in the basic English version loosening from the past, is a process. You have to give your Past actively to Father God that the Holy Spirit can heal, teach and comfort you. Sometimes a counselor is needed to face, handle the past.

"Moreover I will endeavor that ye may be able after my decease to have these things always in remembrance." When I think of all the labor and toil, the persecutions and sufferings, that God's Holy One's have undergone in order to bring the Glad Tidings to us today; it is absolutely revolting how so many think that they can still love the world and keep on sinning, and actually think they're saved!
  • A disciple on James 2 - 8 years ago
"Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble." "Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:" If anyone thinks that by only "believing" and "parroting" some verses, that God is going to overlook his unholy life and hypocrisy, he's in for a terrible awakening!
  • Steve on Revelation 12 - 8 years ago
The woman in verse 14 is of course Israel. In the final 3.5 years of the great tribulation, she (Israel) will take flight on the wings of a great eagle (possibly the USA will help) to flee from the serpent. America is not specifically mentioned in prophecy, but the eagle may represent America. Israel will actually flee to Jordan and Saudi Arabia who will sustain them. Hard to believe, but true.

"..let the weak say, I am strong. Assemble yourselves, and come, all ye heathen, and gather yourselves together round about: thither cause thy mighty ones to come down, O Lord." The men of the world, they are the weak; and the ungodly, they are the heathen to be gathered and brought up to their doom. While they hold on to their ancient deceits of pride defiance against Christ, thus will they fall.
  • A disciple on Psalms 127 - 8 years ago
Abel was murdered out of the ambush by a brother who envied him and started a quarrel with him without a cause. Joseph was hated by his brothers because he was the beloved son of his father's old age, who also sold him for twenty pieces of silver and lied about it to their father to cover their wickedness. David was chased and persecuted relentlessly by a failure of the grace and calling of God.
  • Carl sullivan on Revelation 4 - 8 years ago
I'm reading the whole revelations because of the strife and warfare and anger and faithfulness that I see going on in America....I believe that we are at the time of the end.
  • Greg on Exodus 1 - 8 years ago

Verse 2 - "Mountain" means city. The City of the Lord shall be established above all cities in the world, and all nations will go there. God is going to build a great city for his glory.
  • A disciple on Matthew 21 - 8 years ago
Lou; Shouldn't your faith be seen in a real conversion and new course in life; and the effect of His saving grace be reflected in your new manner of life? Jesus said many, many times; that if we didn't DO whatsoever He says, and we don't bear fruit; that we would be cut off and die, and NOT be permitted to enter into His kingdom. We keep His commandments and do what He says because we love Him!

Disciple...cont. I understand that you are post trib. I,m certainly not one to debate post trib or pre trib. Even Paul was looking for the soon return of Jesus in the clouds several thousand years ago. The great thing is...He's coming to get us in His own time. Again disciple, I respect your opinion and your comments.
  • Steve on Revelation 6 - 8 years ago
Disciple...I certainly respect your belief and opinion concerning the rapture of the church...but I do differ. Revelation 4-22.5 tells us of the things that shall be hereafter...after what? After the saints are caught up as stated in 1 thes.4:14-17. 2 thes 2:7 tells us the church will continue to hinder lawlessness until the rapture, and then antichrist will be revealed. I find comfort in pretrib

  • Lou on Matthew 21 - 8 years ago
Ricky, and Disciple, you have understanding. There is one thing required for salvation, as stated in John 3:16. We should dismiss any idea that our actions have any part in our salvation, nothing we do is good enough that it should add to what Jesus did. We cannot "help" Christ to save us, we are capable of believing, and the Word builds up our believing (faith)...Jesus is The Living Word of God.
  • Lou on Matthew 11 - 8 years ago
Penni, we all fall short, because we judge, our nature is sinful. We must strive to be good, and..we will fail, we will never measure up, but we should try anyway. No action on our part, no changes we make, no sacrifice is worthy..we are fallen. Only through Christ, and not through our own doing are we saved, we will still fail, when we believe, but the power of Jesus (God) is above all things.
  • Lou on Matthew 6 - 8 years ago
Ana d..it is sometimes hard to love people, and if our standing in Heaven was decided by what we do, and think, we would all surely fail, the Kingdom of Heaven will be yours, not because of yourself, but because of Christ alone, ..let no man boast that he is able to earn Heaven, none are able. Believe in Him with your heart, and be saved. Jesus said many times "Do not be afraid".
  • Carries on Psalms 23 - 8 years ago
Yea though i walk through the valley of the shadow of death......
That would be our walk through this world. His rod and staff...he protects us, by his chastisement, so he won't lose us to this world, we should have no fear.
  • Love for Truth on John 3 - 8 years ago
Acts 2:38/ John 3:5 same thing I wish the denominational church would understand what Jesus and His Church taught.
  • Vivienne on Psalms 34 - 8 years ago
It is an assured psalm and it give you hope and takes away your fear because God makes it so clear that he will take care of us no matter what situation we are encountering
  • A disciple on John 3 - 8 years ago
"Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God." John 3:5 Why is it most often the case, that as soon as someone starts going to Church and listening to the popular "teachers and preachers" of the day that they all seem to lose their ability to think intelligently anymore? Nicodemus was the Teacher of Israel: how did he NOT know these things that the Lord was talking about? Was he a good and devoutly religious man? Yes! Undoubtedly! But while he was all busy and tangled up in the "traditions and norms" of Judaism, he had no room left to be open to the Spirit's inspiration for giving him even the fundamental understanding of the WHOLE CONTEXT OF THE SCRIPTURES. Consequently he was at a total loss and unable to grasp when the Lord spoke of even the most basic of spiritual truths.

Bruce and Mild Bill; All you say is true, but I don't understand why you always seem to want to find fault with me and twist my words! I forgive you, but you are really hurting yourselves! As for "No one being able to come to Jesus except the Father draw him;" that the Father doesn't draw them is His condemnation of their unbelief; John 3:17-19. God calls constantly to men to consider their ways.
  • A disciple on Psalms 9 - 8 years ago
mild Bill; Why do you always look for something to strain out of its intended meaning, and attack me? Every time I try to be friendly, you can't answer peaceably; and whatever I write you wrench out another meaning!
  • A disciple on Joel 3 - 8 years ago
"Yea, and what have ye to do with me, O Tyre, and Zidon, and all the coasts of Palestine?" Jesus Himself answered the everlasting contempt of Israel's evil neighbors: "It is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs." If they would repent and believe the Gospel and love God's people He would heal them; but they continue to make themselves enemies for their false prophet's sake.
  • A disciple on Joel 1 - 8 years ago
"..for the meat offering and the drink offering is withholden from the house of your God." As it was in the days of Noah before the cataclysm, the world just went on as if it would continue indefinitely. So the faithful eventually fell away: first into sloth and ignorance and lastly all the way back to the world and ungodliness: all for being ashamed before men and fear of persecution. Luke 21:12
  • A disciple on Joel 2 - 8 years ago
"Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain:" By all the writings of the Apostles and Prophets, and ALL the teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ tell us plainly that we are appointed to humiliation and persecution, to fill up the sufferings of Christ in His body, and show our faith through the doctrine of the cross. "Before all these things, THEY SHALL LAY HANDS ON YOU..."
  • Alex on Romans 4 - 8 years ago
Not only was abraham the father of the circumcision but also of the uncircumcision in that he was a Heathen justified by faith, Thus the gentiles come under the new covenant by faith, The scripture forseeing that God wd justify the Heathen by FAITH Preached the gospel unto Abraham SAYING IN THEE SHALL ALL NATIONS BE BLESSED,Isaiah i have given thee as a covenant to the ppl and a light to gentiles.
