2 Timothy is a good book to read, because God inspired Apostle Paul through the Holy Spirit to write it. Reading all of Paul's episode is inspiring for what he had to go through, even the beating and rejection from his other Apostles. All we have to do is read Romans through Philemon and find out why. No where in the Bible does it say God is a - 'person'; it DOES say Jn. 4:24 and Rom. 8:16. Jesus very words I'm Matt. 28:19 do not say there are 3 persons NOR even 3 spirits; He said baptizing them in the NAME (not names). Acts 2:38 tells us what that name is. Also does Acts 4:12, also does Philippians 2:9-11; Isa.45:23. Jesus was the only 'person'.

I think the key to this whole incident is found in the last verse: "every man did that which was right in his own eyes."

All we have to do is follow Apostle Paul through the Lord Jesus Christ in all his epistles Romans through Philemon and be saves by grace through faith plus nothing. Take God for his Word and believe. Iren123 we must rightly divide the Word of truth in order to understand the Bible correctly. It sounds like you love the Lord, so do I. Romans is a good book to study when you want to know about the Law. Apostle Paul explain that very simple. We are not under the Law but we are under grace through Jesus Christ our Lord plus nothing. Let God almighty have all the honor and glory in his Word .

This is such a powerful question. You can profess to be a Christian while living a debauched life, but will you do when the end comes and you have to be judged? What can you say to the almighty God Jehovah? I went to church while knowingly sinning? Do you really think God will accept that excuse?

I myself have some trust issues but according to the bible we love one another as Christ loved us.

After a lifetime of serving God wholeheartedly I fell and became involved in a 6 month emotional affair and one night of sin. Since that time I have struggled with the effects of my failing and yet have found that I consistently regardless of constantly shifting circumstances have everything I need. Thanks be to God who Is faithful even when I am not. What He has done for us is truly amazing.l

WE are the household of God who dwells in us ( Eph 2:19-22, I Co 6:19-20) and wisdom is already in us ( 1 Co 1:30, John 14:16-17, 26). Understanding is already ours ( John 8:32). We need to stop looking to "obtain" the things of God and start manifesting what we "already have". God's already provided everything ( 2 Pet 1:3). See Hosea 4:6 as to why most Christians are defeated in life. It's sad.

What struck me is that the devil recognizes who Jesus was before most of the people. He needed such a one for his service. He offered supernatural power but Jesus new his power was derived from the living God. Many have succumbed to the Devil's bargain, the foremost being in the highest office in the land. I need prayers for worries of unbelief, getting back into reading the Word of God , being filled with genuine worship and praise with the cheerful heart for our Lord and Savior and blessed Redeemer in God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son of God and to be filled with the Holy Spirit Ghost ! V. 18 is very simply saying we are not to worship angels, or light candles to graven images, nor pray to a woman statue, but to worship and pray to and give our praises to ONLY God - in Jesus' name. Those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth (God is a spirit, not a graven image). Mary was 'just' and ONLY His mother; she followed Acts 2:38 with all the others in Acts ch. 2.

Let me put forth a question. If the Lord expected the Jews to know the Scriptures that they read every Sabbath; what makes Gentile Believers think that any of God's word from the beginning, no longer applies to THEM?
