And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn." Zechariah 12:10 KJV
I see this spirit of grace being poured out at the most important time ever for the inhabitants of Jerusalem. Those that could receive this message at the fulfillment of this prophecy were spared destruction from the enemies of Israel (as has been written demonic forces).
Why cannot we not believe in this peaceable way to the truth without wars and rumors of wars is really my question?
"To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:"
Romans 2:8
"But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,"
Romans 2:9
"Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;"
Romans 2:10
"But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:"

This question isn't about life after resurrection but about what happens after our bodies die. Many beliefs and ideas exist about what occurs when we die physically. Is there a part of us that is immortal and will never cease to exist? If so, what is the meaning of death? Is death metaphorical?
Some say that when a Christian dies, they are immediately taken to heaven, where they live forever in God's presence. Some believe that when people die, they go to Hades, the realm of the dead, which has two sections: one called paradise or Abraham's bosom for the saved, and another place of torment for the lost.
Some also believe in purgatory, and many other religions believe in an afterlife where the spirit or soul is immortal and never ceases to exist. By saying our spirit or soul is immortal, does that go against the resurrection of the dead?
If, when we die, we go to paradise or a fiery torment, where we have a body and are fully conscious of our surroundings, as in the parable Jesus told in Luke 16:19-31, or Luke 23:43, some interpret that Jesus and the thief were in paradise that same day. This supports the idea that Jesus went into Hades, emptied Paradise, and carried them to heaven.
If that happened, why would He leave David in his tomb? Peter says at Pentecost, 50 days after Jesus resurrected, Acts 2:29, Acts 2:30-35. We see what Jesus said in John 5:25-26, and this happens in Matthew 27:50-53, when Jesus cried out, people came out of their graves and appeared to many. The word resurrection in vs 53 warrants study. In John 5:26-29, this has not happened yet, but they are resurrected from their graves.
1 Corinthians 15:52-55.
Just a few thoughts.

What Psalm 91 points is our walk not by sight but by faith.
Thus the shadow of Apostles walking healed sick and lame. Healing was not in Peter but faith whch always come with works. So Elijah would take the dead child to the attic, in faith. "And Elijah took the child, and brought him down out of the chamber into the house, and delivered him unto his mother: and Elijah said, See, thy son liveth."(1 Kgs.17.22-23. Many other instances,
Remember what I told you: 'A servant is not greater than his master.'[a] If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also. ( John 15:20)
Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. ( 2 Timothy 3:12).
Let us summarize several types of persecution:
1. Verbal: Accusing Christ of working with the power of Beelzebub ( Matthew 12:24)
Accusing Christ of illegitimate birth ( John 8:41)
Accusing Christ of blasphemy ( John 10:33 when they attempted to stone Him for claiming to be God
Accusing Christ of being a glutton and alcoholic (implied with response in Matthew 11:18-19) when He ate with
"sinners"
2. Physical Numerous attempts to stone Jesus; throw Him off a cliff; etc.
3. His trial
Twisting prophetic statement of destroying the Temple and rebuilding in 3 days ( Matt. 27:39-40 quoting statement made way back in John 2:19
Mocking Him with regal garments; beating Him with a rod; smashing a crown of thorns on His head; beating with a whip of metal and glass shards; spitting at Him; forcing Him to carry the cross until collapse; and the crucifixion which also involved the Jews urging Him to be crucified and releasing a murdurer; mocking Him again to "get off of the cross"; jeering from those crucified alongside Him; and many other things.
I am abbreviating this study as one needs only to read the Gospels to get a sense of the intensity of the trials which Christ endured for the sake of the elect and His disciples and to do the Father's will; first and foremost. Persecution and death for the Apostles and many in the early church is good reading also to see how true revival often is birthed.

"And they shall dwell in the land that I have given unto Jacob my servant, wherein your fathers have dwelt; "(Ezek.37.25) Before we consider the land God promised Jacob as heir of promise let us consider the significance of three pillars he erected in the land,'that I have given unto Jacob, my servant' and it is different from the land ear-maked for the heir of promise. For Jacob it validated that he was Israel who prevailed and won with God and men. As Jacob the heel catcher it is what Jesus referred as the outer darkness.
Here we begin of three pillars, with one of commitment" "And this stone, which I have set for a pillar, shall be God's house: and of all that thou shalt give me I will surely give the tenth unto thee."(Gen.28.22,14.20) He promises as man in his flesh. Abraham paid tithes',-' And he gave him tithes of all.' As tradition of his fathers he sets it as tenth. Ten is a number of condemnation for the law of sin and death.
second pillar is of separation.'Be ye separate' from the ungodly world. "Behold this heap, and behold this pillar, which I have cast betwixt me and thee: This heap be witness, and this pillar be witness.'(Gen.31.50-52)
Third pillar he erected as Israel, to commemorate Christ as the foundation on which Bethel shall be called El-bethel. "And Jacob set up a pillar in the place where he talked with him, even a pillar of stone: and he poured a drink offering thereon, and he poured oil thereon. God promised him kings, "and kings shall come out of thy loins." Here we have the true significance of Israel and as the four and twenty elders testified,'And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth."(Rev.5.10;1.5-6)
"And my servant David shall be their prince for ever."(Ezek.37.24) So what does it signify .,He is deputed over 'the land that I have given Jacob, my servant." 'Forever' is a tag for Jesus Christ. Outer darkness is the land referred here.
" Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing./ And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever./And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever." (5.11-13) judgment is set and Hell is naturally the other side of the gospel. He is reserved for those who reject him.
This is my first time reading this thread.
I believe I was one vacation.

"For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:"
Galatians 3:28-29 There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's seed and heirs according to the promise.
Romans 10:12
"For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him."

All men try and hide from God when they have sinned .
When God called out " where art thou?" He knew exactly where they were . He wanted them to know or understand where they were .and He called them from their hiding place ( darkness) into His prescience ( light) and called them to account for themselves . It is reasonable to assume that The " Voice of the Lord God" Met with them every evening and fellow gripped and discussed the day . Sadly and with great grief this day was different.
Nevertheless God in His infinite love and mercy gave them a covering that truly covered theur nakedness but couid not restore them to their former "estate ".
Is it not written " Love covers a multitude of sin"
For if that covering had been enough why then the need of the Promise?
But in that God wishing to show that this one( "it") male ( "he") child born of a woman thus fully man but wouid not be of Adams seed said " The seed of the woman .." For it would be absurd to think God does not know the biology of His own creation .
We have then the foreshadowing of the animal sacrifices under the Law of Moses as well as " The Lamb of God that taketh away the sin of the world .
God has not changed that which was first laid out in the garden of Eden step by step fulfilled in its season .
The church needs to get back to the Word of God and "to Him who is from the beginning " For how can any man come to know Him who is from the beginning if we do not believe ALL He said in the beginning? For if we reject His Word do we not also reject Him who spake it?
We have many " little children" but how many " young men " in whom the Word of God dwelleth richly ?
And how many " fathers" who know Him who is from the beginning ".
Whio accomplished in every heart of the believer . And we have passed from judgement to life or in another place " by one man's disobedience all due but by one man's obedience all shall live .( who believe) .
This now life reigns in ever6 true believer yet that life takes some time to manifest itself and that victory likewise and ultimately the whole universe or creation will be se5 free .
" I will build my church sails the Lord and the gates of hell shall not prevail agsinst it"
Gates attack nothing . They are the gates of a walled city and are the weakest part of its walls and thus are the most heavily defended . I don't understand fully what the words of the Lord meant . But what it does NOT mean is that the gates of hell are giving the church a bad time .
" Behold I give you piwer over all the works of the enemy ".
If a man is separated from God in this life because of sin ,if that person dies still in his sin he will be separated from God forever " for there is no repentance in the grave" . That would be hell then .
A Christmas tree is in most cases cut off from its roots . It can only stand upright by being ' supported' . It looks to all intents and purposes still alive but that 'life ' is what is only in its leaves and trunk and as such will stay green for but a little while but it is in truth dead cut off from its roots . We may dress it up with false 'fruits ' tinsle and flashing lights and may look very pretty but the fact remains it is still dead and that death will soon manifest itself .
Adam lived for another 800 years or so until he died it took so long for God had created him with so much life it took that long for that death that now ' reigned' in him to manifest itself .
How subtle and wicked was that old serpent when he said " ye shall not surely die " . But in truth on the very day he disobeyed God he died .
Now here is an interesting thought. If Adam had not disobeyed God he would never have died . And if the last Adam had not willingly given His life fir a sacrifice for sin He would never have died either . But in that he under the Law and for sin became by that law dead death could not keep him out for the sting of death is sin and the power of sin is the law . " Open up ye gates .."
And because the Lord Himself had never sinned ,Death could not keep Him in and God could justifiably raise Him from the dead.
And the Lord taking the keys of death and hell and putting them on his belt left the devil with nothing he could call his own.
A man who finds himself in hell will not do so because so much that he has sinned ( for all have sinned) but because they had rejected Christ
First we shall consider this verse:"He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end."(Ecc.3.11)Whatever we may know of him therefore is in His son. As the true Light for man it comes from the word which Jesus in his prayer makes it clear: Thy word is truth. Of God Jesus has become our sanctification and wisdom. Several verses we could cite "The LORD by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens."(Pro.3.19) "He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heavens by his discretion."(Jer.10.12)
So what is hell? Angels in their revolt were reserved for 'the judgment of the great day.'((Jude.v.6)In the divine Will we see hell associated with death." And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth." There are sects teaching sheol as a temporary place, which is an error. God wills what His kingdom should be: Be ye holy, for i am holy.'His word sanctifies us in his Son. When these sects have made him in their image what else do you expect? Be not deceived. And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment."(Heb.9.27) In the night vision Daniel the Ancient of days is seated.. The Law of the Spirit has set the judgment. " A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened". and " And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death./And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire."(Rev.20.14-15)
In the OT, we read of Hell (Sheol) in several places (e.g. Psalm 30:3, understood as 'the grave'; or Psalm 9:17, as a place of suffering). When Jesus even spoke of it (Hades: Luke 16:22-24), it seems that there was a temporal place of suffering or lack of it before Christ's sacrifice for sins. Just a thought: the righteous from the OT (as Abraham was one & was quoted by Jesus), though Abraham's body was still in the grave, his soul/spirit was in that part of Hades. This teaching may have been something new to the people of Jesus' Day, but it establishes the fact that the spirits of all people live on & are sent to a place appointed & not just to the grave. But after the victory was won at the Cross, those OT saints were justified & redeemed (those who waited in hope of God's deliverance/Messiah for them).
As bro. Jesse pointed out, hell (the place of eternal suffering & torment) is really seen in Matthew 5:22 (Gk:"geenna"), & alluded to in Revelation 21:8. Though this hell (Gehenna) was created for the devil and his angels ( Matthew 25:41), sadly it will also be the future abode of all who have despised the LORD and His Word, rejecting His Salvation for their souls. This maybe what you're thinking of, where this Hell wasn't established at first, yet the warning of its future existence was given in the OT and in Jesus' Teaching. Thanks for your thoughts brother on this, for our mutual investigation & understanding.
" While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation./ For some, when they had heard, did provoke: howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses./But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness?"(Heb.3.15-17)
Heart is a spiritual speace and God htm all."He fashioneth their hearts alike; he considereth all their works."(Ps.33.15) The Israelites did not want to hear his voice. In fact they pleaded with Moses,"And they said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak with us, lest we die."(Exod.20.19). Their fear and disbelief in His voice was so obvious the HolySpirit gives an example,"Father, save me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour./Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again./ The people therefore, that stood by, and heard it, said that it thundered: others said, An angel spake to him./Jesus answered and said, This voice came not because of me, but for your sakes."( Jn 12.27-30) The Jews were warned for their spiritual deafness. If they cannot hear their own hearts what are they? Heart as a spiritual space touches the throne of Grace. So Hannah's prayer in her anguish produced no sounds. High priest Eli thought she was drunk. No She brought forth Samuel as a proof before him. "The Lord looketh from heaven; he beholdeth all the sons of men."(Ps.33.13) So do you see him from inside and by faith abide in his presence, or it only a lip-service?
Please feel free to take some time off before getting back to me if you will.
Love in Christ Jesus and faithfulness presently is my prayer.
Glad we all have this site as a choice to visit our thoughts too!
3. (Accountability After Being Saved). Wow. That's some example of a corrupt Church leader (pastor) you gave! I guess that you might be thinking of some who have been exposed for their sins & many infidelities, or even those in other 'churches' who have abused children. All I can share here, is to quote 2 Timothy 2:19, "Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let everyone that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity".
If we know or hear of any Church leader or even any believer who engages in wicked acts, we must warn them & leave immediately, for these are clearly the workers of iniquity. But if they truly repent, the Lord knows their hearts, whether in true remorse or for appearance sake - for the Lord makes no mistakes. Those to whom He has given His Spirit are His & they will live accordingly - walking in Light & Truth. There are many in the Church today who are imposters, as there were in the early Church days (both in their teaching & manner of living), & we are to recognize them by their fruit and their works. We should be in much prayer for our leaders and fellow believers in their various Church Fellowships, that Satan would not get a foothold in their lives and bring shame to our LORD's Holy Name. GBU.
So, I see these as two separate events (justice from an earthly judge & from an Heavenly Judge); the first is limited to what is evident before Him, the other, is the sickness of sin in the heart that condemns, for which no time can be served or penalty paid, except through faith in God's Act of Love in sending His Son as our substitute in judgement and payment.
2. (Physical Punishment vs Emotional Punishment). I don't believe that the Bible records such specifics as you have given (i.e. the intangible, emotional wounds that people cause to others). We are simply told that any sin (whether murder, rape, or even down to hurtful comments or 'white lies') are all sin. For the unbeliever who engages in any sin, his own conscience will dictate whether he continues in it or alters his course. For the believer, who is a true believer with the Holy Spirit within and in charge, no sin can ever be committed without that Holy Voice alerting him to impending sin or sin engaged in. What does a believer then do? He repents, finding forgiveness, & turns from that sin, now restored into a healthy relationship with the LORD. If he refuses to heed the Spirit, then discipline in some form follows ( Hebrews 12:5-11 is worth reading). And if he continues to disregard God's warnings, then God might just remove that life, so that the spirit might be saved at Christ's appearing ( 1 Corinthians 5:1-5).
Onto Page 4 (the last one I hope).
So Jesus' death at Calvary would have both a retrospective application (looking back to those awaiting Him), and a prospective application (to those at Jesus' death & resurrection & beyond) - and we stand only by FAITH & not by the Law or of any works we do. I realize that I've repeated some things here (from my previous post), but I hope that I've shown that any disobedience to the Laws given to Israel would have meant punishment or death, but the Law itself could not be used to send men to hell, for then none could ever be saved from it. That the need to cleave to the LORD God & His Word/Promises demonstrated that man's hope did not rest in the Law but by faith alone, trusting in Who God is & in obeying Him. "God having provided some better thing for us (Christians), that they (Israel who waited for this hope from God) without us should not be made perfect (saved/redeemed)" ( Hebrews 11:40). And we who now live & walk in the Holy Spirit are not under the demands (i.e. certain eternal death) that the Law guarantees ( Galatians 5:18).
1. (Earthly Punishment vs Divine Punishment). I think the best way to undergird my response to this is to say, that the punishment meted out by earthly judges pertains only to evident sins (crimes against humanity); that they cannot deal with the condition and intents of the human heart (whether harboring evil thoughts or planning for future evil acts). Whereas, the punishment given by the LORD God, the Righteous Judge, is based purely on our heart's condition & our responses to Him & to His Salvation. Of course, to the truly penitent sinner who has committed a crime, he needs to make restitution if possible (which shows his real heart condition for what he has done) as well as to serve his time (incarceration/other penalty). He might have done all this & be released from his penalty, but still remains under sin's penalty before God, simply because he is a sinner in need of a true, eternal salvation. Cont'd in Page 3.
Thanks again CrossTalker for your questions. In the matter of "Double Judgement", I now understand what he meant. The way I understand this, is that no one, whether Jew or Gentile, could ever keep God's Laws perfectly. The Law (i.e. both the Decalogue plus the hundreds of other laws that both supplemented & complemented it), were given to Israel, and Israel alone, to reveal God's requirements for their relationship to God (worship, obedience), & their relationship to other people, as they prepared to exit Egyptian bondage. They could never/would never be able to perfectly keep the Laws because man's common sinful nature prohibits that ever happening; but the Laws were given as not only God's Standard of practise, but to show their inability to keep the Law nor to satisfy God.
The Apostle Paul writes well on this matter, in Galatians chapter 3. But specifically Galatians 3:21-25 tells us that the Law could never give "life"; if it could, then our efforts to obey them would help us to a right standing before God - but this could never happen, for we still remain sinners because of disobedience & unable to satisfy God at all. "But before faith came, we (Israel) were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed". So, Israel stood under the demands of the Law but had no way to be free from its damnable end, except to wait for the day when Christ would come & faith in Him alone would reconcile man to God. So the Law given to them was "a schoolmaster" to bring them to Christ; and after Christ, that schoolmaster (the Law) was no longer needed, for faith took over, which the Law could never link with. So, with the cases of Noah, Abraham, Sarah, Moses, etc. (Hebrews chap 11), these all took God at His Word to them, trusted Him with their lives, & waited for His Promises. They never received the Promise to come, but their looking & waiting upon God in faith (& not upon the Law), made them acceptable to God. Cont'd in Page 2.
3 But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: 4 That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.
God is allowing me do the same things as Jesus Christ supernatural responses for me behalf of wants Example: Church of Corinth man named Timothy that you can follow. I Thank You Jesus blessing me to rejoice answering joy of my heart not allowing me to ever suffer wordly circumstances
After healing a leper Jesus told him,"And Jesus saith unto him, See thou tell no man; but go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them." Though he was accused of breaking the law, he was instead fulfilling the Law. The hypocrisy of his accusers was in their inability, intentionally not acknowledging truth. He came indeed to fulfill them. No better example we can have in the manner he instructed his disciples to gather the leftovers after feeding the multitudes. After feeding 5000 he was left with 12 baskets indicating he fed them as the Son of man. "And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the fragments that remained twelve baskets full"(Mt.14.20-22). Strghtaway he had to leave so he gathered them for carrying about. He was presenting his Father with He did in his name. On another occasion he fed four thousand in the wilderness, "And he took the seven loaves and the fishes, and gave thanks, and brake them, and gave to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude./And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the broken meat that was left seven baskets full."(Mt.15.36-37) Here the Spirit gives us as in the previous case seven which is a whole number. As the Word become flesh he was presenting his testimony to the Law or the Word was God. God separated His sanctified ones in which 144 a constant number was His seal of approval, So we shall understand significance of this voice: "And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." (Mt.3.17) In the vision of Ezekiel it was noise, and with his Son he is testifying he was his only begotten Son. " Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil."(Mt.5.17)
4 The vowes of the mightie men are broken, and they that stumbled are girt with strength.
Hannah is not giving up a sad little boy. The offering is being given with joy, with rejoicing.
5 They that were full, haue hired out themselues for bread: and they that were hungry, ceased: so that the barren hath borne seuen, and she that hath many children, is waxed feeble.
But those who saw themselves as small - He makes them strong. but those who were hungry are now satisfied.
6 The Lord killeth and maketh aliue, he bringeth downe to the graue, and bringeth vp.
7 The Lord maketh poore, and maketh rich: he bringeth low, and lifteth vp.
8 He raiseth vp the poore out of the dust, and lifteth vp the begger from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the Lords, and hee hath set the world vpon them.
9 He will keepe the feet of his saints, and the wicked shall bee silent in darkenesse; for by strength shall no man preuaile.
10 The aduersaries of the Lord shalbe broken to pieces: out of heauen shal he thunder vpon them: the Lord shall iudge the ends of the earth, and he shal giue strength vnto his king, and exalt the horne of his Anointed.
She was already speaking of the future, prophetically in the middle of the prayer. He will give power to his king. And he will give victory to this king whom he has chosen.
The enemies of God, the Lord, will be destroyed. He will thunder against them from heaven.
The Lord will judge the whole world.
He will give power to his king. And he will give victory to this king he has chosen He's talking about Jesus.
11 And Elkanah went to Ramah to his house, and the child did minister vnto the Lord before Eli the Priest.
Chapter 2
1 And Hannah prayed, and said, My heart reioyceth in the Lord, mine horne is exalted in the Lord: my mouth is inlarged ouer mine enemies: because I reioyce in thy saluation.
2 There is none holy as the Lord: for there is none beside thee: neither is there any Rocke like our God.
3 Talke no more so exceeding proudly, let not arrogancie come out of your mouth: for the Lord is a God of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed.
Then the Lord God filled my heart with joy and, because of what he has done, I walk with my head held high. Here, Hannah is talking about laughing at her enemies ( Philippians 4:4).
It is not written that Hannah said: "Penina, look at my Samuel - now I have a baby".
Hannah didn't seem to have that characteristic.
She's saying something more like:
"My God. I used to believe all those things the enemy said about me I was so naive, wasn't I?
All I had to do was pray.
All I had to do was surrender myself in the presence of the Almighty!"
"And there I was... giving weight to what my enemies said."
But now she says:
"I laughed. I'm laughing at my enemies. I feel very happy, because God has helped me!"
"No one is holy like the Lord. There is no other God but him. There is no rock like our God."
Hannah says:
"But look, don't take advantage. Don't speak with proud words.
What is Hannah saying?
"Now let's see, Peninnah. See if you can still laugh in my face".
Or make a prayer of misplaced adoration.
What is misplaced worship?
It's when we share our blessings using arrogant words.
I have nothing against songs that talk about blessings,
but the real issue is the intention of the heart - how we sing, why we sing and to whom we sing. Do you know what I mean.
19 And they rose vp in the morning early, and worshipped before the Lord, and returned, and came to their house to Ramah: and Elkanah knewe Hannah his wife, and the Lord remembred her.
20 Wherefore it came to passe when the time was come about, after Hannah had conceiued, that shee bare a sonne, and called his name Samuel, saying; Because I haue asked him of the Lord.
21 And the man Elkanah, and all his house, went vp to offer vnto the Lord the yeerely sacrifice, and his vowe.
22 But Hannah went not vp; for shee said vnto her husband, I will not goe vp vntill the childe be weaned, and then I will bring him, that he may appeare before the Lord, and there abide for euer.
23 And Elkanah her husband said vnto her, Do what seemeth thee good, tary vntill thou haue weaned him, only the Lord establish his word: so the woman abode, and gaue her sonne sucke vntill she weaned him.
24 And when shee had weaned him, shee tooke him vp with her, with three bullocks, and one Ephah of floure, and a bottle of wine, and brought him vnto the house of the Lord in Shiloh: and the childe was young.
25 And they slew a bullocke, and brought the childe to Eli.
26 And she said, Oh my lord, as thy soule liueth, my lord, I am the woman, that stood by thee heere, praying vnto the Lord.
27 For this childe I prayed, and the Lord hath giuen me my petition, which I asked of him:
