Like you, I do not believe Calvinism is true but I don't see it as such a big deal as you. You made it this far to marry and have kids- maybe you never discussed it before, proving that it already wasn't that important of an issue to you before. Many Christians have differing views on this and many are married and attend the same churches. Do you know if you disagree with all 5 pillars or just some? I think the 2 biggest are them believing they don't have freewill and not believing Jesus died for everyone like 1 John 2:2 says. You probably disagree with way more than just that if you actually read through the whole Bible together and line by line compared your interpretations. But why assume you have to agree on everything for a marriage to work? No two Christians will agree on everything and that's normal because we're all individuals. Why not instead focus on the main things you have in common? You're both Christians, believe in Jesus, and probably have more in common that you are realizing.
Maybe the real question is why are you choosing to have such a strong reaction to this of all things. You mention you're even worried for your family, but isn't your choice to view and react this way the real threat, instead of the viewpoints themselves? "extremely frustrated, devastated" are not normal reactions to just a difference of opinion. Did you really yell at your husband and call him a tyrant?! That's in violation of the Bible's teachings, probably marital vows to him, and that's unacceptable for a wife to treat her husband that way. That's the only thing shocking about this. Women sometimes have amplified emotions while pregnant. What if the opinions of Calvinism are simply a distraction from the real attack from the enemy deceiving you into resenting and disrespecting your husband? Ephesians 5:23-33 God bless you.
There are few on either camp when it comes to Arminianism and Calvanism who disagree on certain fundamental issues; namely that some scripture indicates God's predestined plan for many things. If indeed that was being argued against I can understand the frustration.
The first major problem here is whenever a doctrine comes up like this is when it overshadows the basic Gospel truths common to all parties concerned; namely that Christ died on Calvary to bring atonement to all who would believe in His name.
The next issue is why he is so obsessed; is it something he is preaching of his own volition; or is he surrounded by those in church; fellowship or friends who align with this sort of militant campaign in that direction? It would help to understand in order to pray for your situation.
You shall know them by their fruits. This should indicate love; joy; peace; longsuffering; etc. and should follow the guidelines of 1 Cor. 13. This is something you may be able to seek on your own. Of course a child is innocent; even if we argue about being born in sin; I look at Psalm 8:2 and other verses that show that God saves them out of grace much as He does for others above the age of accountability. Having angels beholding the face of God is something that we need to consider carefully; as well as the sanctity of the marriage covenant. Thus; I would advise that you tell him you are praying for these issues and see what happens. I hope it isn't the case but he may use things as excuses to disrupt the marriage with the stress of childbirth.
I'll Pray.
My husband and I have been at odds for many years about Calvinism. So much so it really is a point of contention. I am currently 29 weeks pregnant and he has been becoming in my opinion Obsessed with this topic to the point where it has surpassed acceptable behaviors! He can not realize I will not ever agree with him on this topic, and I'm sorry to all the calvinist out there but he has become a tyrant and aggressive and I am worried all of the stress will effect the baby! Before I was pregnant I would debate him to a degree before you realize you have been sucked into a never ending cycle, and I would walk away or we would end up screaming at each other. Personally very disgusting to me to even think about. This is the work of the devil, Christ is not the author of confusion but of PEACE... And this is breaking my heart. I have contacted his Dad who is also a Christian and he won't even listen to him. At what point do I get other Christian men involved because he is putting me and the baby at risk with his constant barrage of Calvinism. I am extremely frustrated and devastated being pregnant I do not want to bring a child into this!! My heart breaks thinking about it. Thank you.
Do you ever wonder if the Lord is literal? Read aloud and clearly Psalm 1:1-3 Notice if anything happens!
Hallelujah Praise be to our God and Savior Jesus Christ who is the Living God, Amen
How do we get fruit ? Primarily from the seed that is planted . But also as another example of " abiding in the vine" for unless we stay connected to the vine we wither and die and produce no fruit .
But if we abide in Him then we will produce the fruit and then the Lord purges us to produce more fruit "
It is good to see the concern for the church for it is half asleep and in some cases blind . The last judge was blind the last king was blind and accirding to rev that in the last church age the church is blind too .
I'm not sure any man can have " complete knowledge and understanding "fir do we not see through a glass darkly . But Indo believe when we need it God will give us that wisdom that need out of His all wisdom and when we don't understand we do understand that he understands that we don't!
But consider this if you will . " My God mMy God why hast thou forsaken Me"? The Man Christ Jesus who had not sinned became Sin " the Father did not just turn his back on Him it was more awe full than that . For did not Jesus say " The Words that I speak are not my own words but the Father who is IN Me He doeth the works "? And in another place " Know you not that Zi amin the Father and The Father is in me"? In that terrible hour the Father left Him ,separated forsaken so that we who were separated from God by sin might never be separated again and so " nothing can separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus ." Thus the Son of Man cried out such words . Thus prophecy and reality met .
There are things we will not understand this side of eternity but that does not mean we are left bereft but rather we look to Him which IN Him all the oromises of God are " yea and z amen" and we can come boldly into the presence of zAlmighty God and ( note) find grace and mercy in time of need " That access has been opened by God and there is no power of hell that can stop us praying .
The Gospel of Jesus Christ must still be preached as a witness but those who profess Christ must get themselves ready and stay ready for the Time is fast approaching when He will come FOR His bride .
Once she has gone then all the restraints that are holding back the spirit of antichrist and indeed the antichrist will be gone .
The last church cannot be less than the first church , in its zeal commitment and demonstration of its power and authority in Christ not to build up a denomination or a new one but to manifest the goods of the kingdom of God .
May God guide you in all things, go in the strength of the Lord,

Tomorrow I will be out until Sunday; Lord willing finishing paperwork for the cabin I invested in up in upstate New York and; Lord willing I will get electricity hooked back up on Friday or perhaps Saturday. I'd appreciate prayer for travel mercies and wisdom as to putting water in the place. Also for whether my friend from church is actually going up there; or another friend in a couple weeks or neither to help me get some insulation in the ceiling and perhaps go fishing. My friend from church wants to start a recovery program which I may have discussed before. The book is excellent full of scripture and testimonies; although I need to talk with this brother beforehand about my participation and some of my doctrinal views; particularly on the divorce and remarriage issue. Please pray for my wisdom there as well.
I am sort of in an Ecclesiastes 9:10 mindset in some ways; as much of what I am doing I have thought about for many years but haven't had the resources to do it. The other day I felt the Lord was once again emphasizing to me the importance of discussing the Rapture. This certainly trumps everything else and will come as a rude awakening not just to the world but those asleep. I am not sure what the sign is exactly in regard to the bridegroom coming at the midnight hour; this could mean somehow there is a short notice to the body of Christ before the Rapture or has second coming implications. If it is the former; it is sobering to think that some will know what's going to happen but will not be ready to participate in the event. We see this precedent with Elijah passing the mantle to Elisha. I used to study these possible hidden meanings of scripture not traditionally explained as Rapture texts.
I inadvertently picked up another version here and am not sure if there may be some correct translation inferring everyone being tested based on Zechariah 13:7 which Jesus quotes in Matthew 26:31. Nonetheless; Jesus prophesied Peter's fall and this shows that Satan was allowed to do this testing. He foreknew that he would repent and strengthen the others that ran off afterwards.
Nonetheless he prayed about the issue; and this was the night of his betrayal and trial before execution.
Luke 22:53 gives further ammunition to this idea that darkness or Satan had his hour at that time when Jesus was arrested.
I find some interesting parallels here to the Tribulation; when all saints will be asked to lay their lives down and Satan's reign with the Beast and False Prophet will be allowed by God for a short time to accomplish His purposes. I won't go too far with this concept but it is interesting in light of the support the Body of Christ has in the church today and how it will be absent at that time when people are facing death. Nonetheless; i believe the prayers of the saints at that time will make the process of being overcomers succeed and that in an overwhelming success when we see countless multitudes of souls under the throne in heaven ( Rev. 7:9 which I misquoted as Revelation 9 the other day)
In regard to prayer; this passage shows that Jesus knew all things and Peter's eventual change of heart was included. Nonetheless prayer is an important part of the mix; and so is any interaction between men and God that can only be accomplished by being regenerated. God knows beforehand who will come to Him; this is something Calvanists and Arminians agree on. His purposes involve interaction among the Godhead and men now to accomplish His plan in His time
"I and my Father are one."
John 12:45
"And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me."
John 8:19
"Then said they unto him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor my Father: if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also."

His revelation of Jesus that " He was the Christ the Son of the living God" was confirmed by the ' first 'Comforter as true but he took it as all the revelation of God and when the Lord began to reveal more as to His coming rejection suffering and death ( accirding to the s riotures) Peter rejected it and began to correct the Lord!
And the Lord had to severely rebuke him . That rebuke not many wouod take and still walk with the Lord.
All indeed who are His are " called" and every true born child of God is given the opportunity to run the race and win the prizes but there is a great misunderstanding about election ,people looking it from man's perspective rather than Gods .
True it does say " many are calked but few are chosen " But that is not all the scriptures tell us.
To the world all are calked to reoent and " belueve on the Lord Jesus Christ" John 3:16.
The promise is to all who do .
For God is NOT willing that ANY shouid oetish but that ALL shouid come to a knowledge of the truth "
If God says ALL we had better believe it. Are all saved ? No.
But it IS Gods will that they are.
If I be lifted up saud Jesus on the cross " I will draw ALL men unto Me" that all means all none are excluded all are included .
To resist the will of God for your salvation is to bring destruction upon your own head to deny the irrifutable is it not to bring damnation upion your own soul?
So likewise behold I stand at the door and knock is a call to the WHOLE church to repent but the promise is only to "those who have ears to hear ."
It is not exposure to truth that changes anybody but our response to it .
God has elected that those who respond ..l.l
" The Bride has got herself ready "
Not all Christian's will be ready as dignified by the 5 foolish virgins .
Lot was not " ready" for although he was counted righteous he WALKED by sight not by faith and in the days of Lot was also Abraham even as in the days of Noah there was Enoch .
If we live in the Spirit we should also walk in the Spirit says Paul.
The Lord is coming FOR His Bride and she will meet Him "in the air ".
Who then takes her to the " marriage supper of the Lamb . Those who were not ready will be proved in the great tribulation and martyred .
Then the Lord will come WITH His Bride to judge the earth .
Every true BORN child of God is called to that " high calling" it is not automatic to be born again qualifies us to " run the race" it does not win us the prize .
To those who boast in being if the elect the scriptures say " make your election sure" .
To be BORN again wonderful though that is to get out of the bondage of Egypt and the dominion of Pharaoh by the blood of the lamb the Word if God and the Power of God . But the church has made it the be all and end all and the promised land heaven and Jordan death . Not so . The wilderness was but boot camp of a short duration we have made it the Christian norm of 40 years .
Paul warns us not to be like them who "entered not in because of unbelief " unbelief is not just simply not believing God but it is also believing the wrong message. He also warned not to be deceived like Eve . She too believed the wrong message . Is it not written that things will come to pass where errors will be so subtle " if it was possible even the VERY elect would be deceived"
The only way is to seek first the kingdom of God and HIS righteousness " and be totally reliant on the Holy Spirit as to the understanding of scripture . For the Bride of Christ will come out of the wilderness " terrible as an army with banners leaning upon her beloved"
"Ye that seek the Lord: look unto the rock whence ye are hewn, and to the hole of the pit whence ye are digged."
Jesus declared he was the rock of offence and citing the scriptures he said,The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes? " (Mt.21.41-44). Yhere are many allusions to this stone cut not without hands. This rock falling on whomsoever grinds him to powder. This shall happen when God judges his people. In short the rock is set in the world of Spirit. Either you are built upon the stone God has laid as foundation stone or cast to the wind as dust.
Life of man is in the blood. In this connection Ezekiel as commanded of God refers to Jerusalem,"Woe to the bloody city,..For her blood is in the midst of her; she set it upon the top of a rock; she poured it not upon the ground, to cover it with dust;"(Ezek.24.6-7). Cain shed the blood of his brother ad God tells him,"the voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the ground."(Gen.4.10) Man has his upper limit where the Rock represents heaven and the earth that abides forever. Adam was formed of the dust of the ground. Whereas latter Adam is the lord of heaven and his body is prepared by God , a quickening Spirit. 'The first man is of the earth, earthy; the second man is the Lord from heaven./ As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly."(1 Cor.15.47-48) Why did God command Ezekiel not to cover the blood with dust. It witnessed the crime of the ungodly world. It is to which the angel of the waters refers," And the third angel poured out his vial upon the rivers and fountains of waters; and they became blood./. And I heard the angel of the waters say, Thou art righteous, O Lord, which art, and wast, and shalt be, because thou hast judged thus./For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets,"(Rev.16.3-6)
"The Word of God is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path "
We make a grave mistake in bringing the Word of God down to our experience and our own thinking rather than hold up thecWord of God as to what it actually says and to bring our experience up in conformity with the Word of God .
If we consider on the verbal expressions of many we speak of being 'close' to God being near God and this is all good but it is not the best . True indeed that it is written if we draw near to GodHe draws near to us" But here is a question . If God is omnipresent that is to say everywhere all at the same time now how do we draw near to Him?
It cannot be therefore geographical but rather phycological and spiritual .
If you or any have a serious disagreement with your father and hevis right and you are wrong and he stands on that principle and demands you conform not so much to him but to what he says is right Then though you both live in the same house while you remain in rebellion and refuse to conform you are as it were a million miles apart . You do not even wish to be in the same room let alone talk to him. For this matter is both a stumbling block and a bone of division between you.
Thus scenario is of the unsaved persons relationship or lack with God .
The son must come round to his Fatyers thinking and begin to see it from his perspective for in this matter the father has the right perspective the son does not .
It is as he begins to see or understand things rightly thst he g begins to draw near in his thinking to the father .and like the prodigal son eventually returns to his fathers house and is reconciled and the two agreeing walk together .
The believer happily has been reconciled to God " their sins are forgiven and they know the zFather" as 1 John puts it .
But that is not the be all and end all of it for we are expected to grow in grace and in the knowledge of God "
To be cont:
God had settled his Son for his eternal Priestly Service."The Lord hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek."(Ps.110.4) Aaron as with the Law of Moses was appointed by default. The Number 10 refers to the law of sin and death. A descendant of Levi (Exod.6.20), his failure was as much as of the Levitical priesthood to which he belonged, in that the order of priests 'were not suffered to continue by reason of death.'(Heb.7.23). The priesthood itself came to an end with AD.70. He died in Mount Hor at the age of 123.
Absence of his name in the list of Heroes of faith is conspicuous (Heb.11). His prominence in the history of the nation was apparently by default, as mentioned earlier and God allowed Aaron to serve Moses in deference to his own modesty. "And thou shalt speak unto him, and put words in his mouth: and I will be with thy mouth, and with his mouth, and will teach you what ye shall do". Thus he served as the middleman between his younger brother and the people (Exod.4.15-16).(See under P-principle of Association)
In the Golden calf episode he showed his weakness in yielding to popular pressure. He was not above envy when he sided with his sister Miriam against Moses.(Num.ch.12). She was directly punished for her sedition. In both cases he was spared because he was in His service. (See under M-order of Melchizedek)
The budding of Aaron's rod was a validation of his priesthood before the entire nation. (Num. ch.17). The rod was kept in the Ark of the Covenant during the wanderings of Israelites, seems to have been lost.
(See under R-Aaron's rod)
1 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to live together in unity!
It is something precious in God's eyes. Each of us has flaws; some need more help than others, and this is where fellowship becomes healing.
When we live and share life together, it's not just "good" - it's gentle, pleasant, and desirable.
Living in unity takes presence, effort, and empathy.
Being present and doing our best to keep peace is often the best offering we can give to God and to others.
2 It is like the precious oil on the head, running down on the beard, Aaron's beard, down to the collar of his robes.
Aaron was Moses' brother. He was born during Israel's oppression in Egypt, but apparently before the king's order to kill the baby boys ( Exodus 1:22).
3 It is like the dew of Hermon, falling on the mountains of Zion. For there the Lord commands the blessing - life forevermore.
The dew represents renewal, freshness, and new life. Mount Hermon was known for its refreshing moisture, and the psalmist says that unity among brothers brings that same renewal.
We should always remember both the good and hard times,
because it is in this atmosphere of peace and fellowship that God commands the blessing - not just a temporary one, but everlasting life, ongoing communion with Him.
Abimelech the son of Gideon was from a concubine that was in Shechem, (Judg.8. 31).
The Spirit mentions him separately after placing seventy sons of Gideon in the preceding verse to indicate his low birth. Abimelech in Hebrew means 'My father the king' which is not same as Jether his firstborn. What was Abimelech but a usurper?
God wanted to punish the people of Israel with a man of such low calibre who fitted with their times. Compare it with our present times. Do we not see the truth of the word? "And it came to pass, as soon as Gideon was dead, that the children of Israel turned again, and went a whoring after Baalim, /Neither shewed they kindness to the house of Jerubbaal, namely, Gideon, according to all the goodness which he had shewed unto Israel (Judg.8. 33-35).
This Abimelech episode is for our instruction in righteousness. God shall take the wicked by giving such leaders who like bramble bring discredit before other nations. We have the Epstein-gate.
Abijah
The Holy Spirit spells the name of the great grandson of Solomon as Abijah meaning 'Yahweh is my father'.(2 Chr.13.2) It is given by God as he gave Solomon the name Jedidiah 'beloved of the Lord (2 Sam.12.25). In the book of the Kings the same name is spelt as Abijam, meaning Yam is my father, a Canaanite sea god (1 Kgs15.1). This is how the Spirit warns the modern churches. In the divine Will he was Yahweh is my father but in practice, a pagan. For this reason we see the reason why the two houses were at war. In the second book of the Chronicles Abijah harangued the army of Israel but was of no use. (2 Chron.13.2)
"No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon." (Mt.6.24).
The second son of Adam was a shepherd. He foreshadows Christ the Good Shepherd. His offering from the firstlings of the flock pleased God more than of Cain.
How did Abel settle upon a burnt offering? Faith is the pure language by which he understood the truth 'Without shedding of blood is no remission' (Heb.9.22). Here is an example of the wisdom from heaven. (Jas3.17). To the pure God shall show himself as pure. ("With the pure thou wilt shew thyself pure, "-Ps.18:26). Abel is qualified as righteous. ( 1 Jn 3.12)
He was killed by his older brother Cain in a fit of jealousy and became the first martyr. (Mt.23.35).
Abel Beth Maccah
A fortified city (2 Sam.20.16) where Sheba had taken refuge in his revolt against David. It is not to be confused with the great stone of Abel. The new cart bearing the Ark of the Covenant stopped at the place where the great stone stood (1 Sam.6.18). The Spirit has placed two tags here to give its significance. Firstly Joshua is a variant for Jesus and the phrase 'unto this day' similarly refers to the day of the Son. "Which stone remaineth unto this day in the field of Joshua, the Bethshemite". The place is associated with the sacrifice of Abel (See under A-Abel)
The stone of Abel serves as a motif for Jesus (Mt.5.1;17.1)and associated with Zion ('a sure foundation'-Isa.28.16).
[12] For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
My Intrepretation: To Rely on Gof by speaking faith Prayers To Be Done
Hebrews 11:1 KJV
[1] Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Prayers To be Done
2 Corinthians 2:14 -17KJV [14] Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.
[15]For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish:[16]To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?[17]For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.
Principle To All Religions Psalm 9:1 KJV
[1] I will praise thee, O LORD, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvellous works.
Word Written and Spoken by REDAPPLETREATY4MEONLY
(To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.) I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.
2He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.
3And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.
4Blessed is that man that maketh the LORD his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.
This is; as I see it an OT reference to the Rapture. We see here how others see and fear when we are lifted out of the miry clay which sounds a lot like the Rapture or Resurrection to me. We see a new song much like in Revelation as well and the end of verse 3 is certainly exciting as to ramifications for the rest of the earth and many coming to faith after we depart.
As to the timing of the Rapture Rosh Hashanah is an intriguing and likely possibility. We read in 1 Corinthians 15:52
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. If this is true we don't know the year; and the day and hour is signified by the Jews sighting the New Moon which could vary a couple days depending on weather; etc. If it is this year we only have a couple months...
I am ending this study for now rather abruptly as for now I have said what I feel the Lord would have me state. Indeed there are things like the Mark of the Beast which I have elaborated on before that no doubt warrant further exploration but for now I think it is best to meditate and see where our hearts are in regard to preparation for His return this side of the Rapture.
I will add a word of warning that none of us should be presumptive. We see wicked dying everyday (won't mention who was famous that passed today) but you get my point. God chastises all those He loves ( Rev. 3:19 spoken to the Laodiceans)
Looking at the parallel between the aformentioned passage regarding Laodicea and Matthew 25:9 is striking. We read
But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.
Many seem to think this is a sarcastic statement or symbolic rather than looking at both of these passages in context and realizing buying something that can be refined like gold in the fire. Let us consider Revelation 3:18 again:
I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
This would clearly indicate to me that we are to acquire the strength of God from His heavenly storehouse to bring spiritual reward and treasure and that would therefore cause someone to have white garments to be ready for His presence. That will no doubt motivate a few to get their acts together now; but the bigger picture is that many from the church age will be left behind who are alive at the time of the Rapture as I see it.
If this is too controversial; I suggest just tabling the idea so we can move on. I will introduce the second issue here; that the Spirit of God is indeed here and in spades in the Tribulation just not working as it does now in the Body of Christ and the gifting as well as preservation as it does now. The gates of hell indeed will overtake saints as Daniel states; but now until He comes the gates of hell will not prevail against the church. That is the difference mainly; certainly signs and wonders will be off the charts.
To die as a martyr under what I consider the false church even before the Antichrist kills all from true AND false religion at the midpoint of the Trib will require the Spirit of God to overcome. The rest not written in the Book of Life worship the Beast and are damned.
We can also compare Revelation 3:10 here; where this is the only church promised to escape the trial to test the whole world and to stand before God. No doubt there are a few worthy to stand such as we read here
4Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy.
5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. ( Revelation 3:4-5 about Sardis)
Revelation 3:14-22
14 And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;
15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
Luke 17:28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;
The following verse describes the suddenness of the unexpected destruction to come. The same can be said in Thessalonians
where they "shall not escape"; we see in 1 Thessalonians 5:2 the concept of a thief and a snare in Luke 21:35.
These passages tend to dissuade many of the so called dreams and visions of a nuclear war about the time of the Rapture; at least immediately before it. What comes as sudden destruction no doubt could be a first phase of what eventually encompasses the earth in Armageddon; but generally the first seal offers a fallacious but convincing bloodless coup and no doubt mirrors the covenant with many in Daniel 9:27 already well underway for the eventual confirming with many. Is it impossible for nuclear war to accompany the Rapture? Somehow I don't see the Resurrection of the dead as being interrupted by such an event; if anything as to make clear that it wasn't bombs being dropped that left the holes in the ground in cemeteries around the world.
Also if we take literally Revelation 5:13 as to its timing it would seem that would be the main focus after the Rapture.
Who is Raptured? Clearly the easy answer is all the saints; at least of the Church Age who were God's children.
Ephesians 5:27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. Let's look carefully into this concept. Those who have passed on have; in their souls already been at the Bema Seat of Christ; or they couldn't be present with the Lord. Many were through persecution on earth unlike those particularly in the Western world in the last couple generations. Considering the works that God has for us since before the creation of the world ( Eph. 2:10) it seems likely that God uses the Tribulation to purify many.
