    Persecution (Part 6 I think)

Once David got to the later stages of his reign; there were some consequences to his actions and his son Solomon would achieve more or less peace in his day which sadly was the beginning of the end for Israel and Judah as judgment was about to come.

Psalms discusses repeatedly David's prayers to overcome his adverseries but also verses that likely show consequences of his own sin as we see in Psalm 38:11; which commentators suggest may be a type of venereal disease suffered because of the many women he was with; which of course dwarfs in comparison to Solomon and his escapades. Nonetheless David was a man after God's own heart ( 1 Samuel 13:14). This shows his strength in great humility and servitude slong with patience with Saul and his minions who put him on the run a number of times before he eventually was defeated in battle. ( 2 Samuel 16:11). The Lord dealt with this issue in His timing and established the throne of Solomon; as David could not build the Temple because he was a man of war ( 1 Chron. 28:3).

With Solomon's brief reign at the pinnacle of the kingdom which would have been extended and continued his posterity through his descendants once again a way waw found for him to forfeit these promises. Ecclesiastes seems to show lessons learned a bit late but it would seem in time for repentance, realizing his folly.

The kingdom of Israel and Judah where the tribes were split were judged by invasions of several nations; but here I will focus the most on the Babylonian invasion. We see Jeremiah the "weeping prophet" and it is assumed but not explcit he was martyred. Luke 11:50-51 says this about the lawyers at the time

    That the blood of all the prophets, which was shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this generation;

51From the blood of Abel unto the blood of Zacharias, which perished between the altar and the temple: verily I say unto you, It shall be required of this generation.

    Free,

Jesus as a man would have been careful dealing with a man who was going to be his betrayer. But he was sent by God as the saviour of the whole world. Not for a few.

God knew whom He set apart before the worlds began. He also knew Judas was the son of perdition. Obviously his name was not in his book of life. All judgment the Father gave to him so he gave Judas as much free will as he gave every other disciple. So the names which are not in the book of the Lamb make the final list.

As the Word become flesh he would not judge before time. Besides the Law of the Spirit is the Law. The same reason why he took baptism by water under John; by doing so he fulfilled what he required in his human likeness. He was also the Word which was with God.

To every true BORN child of God who have " passed from judgement to life" there is a judgement of Christ where or works will be judged as to wether they be wood hay or stubble ( works of the flesh) or those of gold and silver ( spiritual )

For there are also crowns to be won as well as lost . To be BORN again qualifies us to " run the race" it does not win us the prize .

Lot was as ' rich' as Abraham in the beginning but because he walked by sight and not by faith he lost all but the salvation of his own soul . He " suffered loss as through fire" .

Works do not and cannot save us that is a work of grace.

And we are " counted righteous" in Gods eyes through Jesus Christ .

His righteousness is imputed to us even as our sin was imputed to him on the cross . The Holy Spurt then imparts that righteousness and we by degree and in a measure begin to do those works of God " preordained from before the foundations of the world".

Lot was counted righteous for " his righteous soul was vexed with the filthy conversations of the wicked".

But walked by sight as shown by his choices first with Abraham then with the kings of Sodom then living among them .

Christians can be carnal. As shown in the letter to the Corinthians.

If we live in the Spirit we must learn also to WALK in the Spirit .

What God has ordained to be done in the Spirit cannot be accomplished by the flesh .

Abraham got impatient and allowed himself to be persuaded to have a child by the flesh rather than by the power of God .

The chiodren of Isreal and indeed the whole world is still living with the consequences .of trying to do in the flesh what God ordained to be done " by My Spirit" .

God fulfilled His Word and when it was impossible for man God made it possible and the " Son of promise" was given.

Are we not ,if His , born again not by the will of man nor if the flesh nir of blood but if God"?

Let us then live and walk as children of God and not as " mere men" as Paul put .

If we look more closely we can see that Cain offered but the works of his own hands and by the " sweat of his brow" . He also offered what God had already cursed ( the land) and its fruits by thst sweat. Moreover he was in his offering trying to establish his own righteousness by those works and in seeking to establish his own righteousness he was denting Gods and was thus seeking his own glory rather than Gods.He was also by that offering rejecting Gods way as was established in the garden of Eden .For when Adam and Eve had sinned and went into hiding at the sound of Gods " Voice" they went and hid themselves ( in darkness ) God calling them out and into His presence saw with eyes "from which nothing is hid" that what was good in theur eyes ( fig leaves) did not cover their najedness at all . And in His great mercy and love gave them a covering of animal skins . Is it not written " Love covers a multitude of sins"?Thus an innocent animal was sacrificed by God to " cover" thrur nakedness" this not only foreshadowed the animal sacrifices of the Old TestMent but laid down the principle "not without blood"Foreshadiwing again that Holy and perfect " Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world "

Thus Cain is the root and indeed seed of all the false religions of this world and even as God had no respect unto his offering neither shouid we.

Abel on the other hand sacrificed a lamb and in doing so . Confessed his sin ,the righteousness of God and showed or proved his faith in the promise of God as given in the garden of thst Lamb of God ( as one slain from before the foundations of the world ")

And God had respect unto his offering .

Note it was not Abel that rose up and slew Cain but rather Cain rose up and slew Abel while in a deceitful 'dialogue' with him .

Be careful then when you get into sny dialogue with false Religions be they from the east or west for history has shown as the scriptures prove how they can suddenly rise up and slay Gods people.

Dear "Bennymkje" thank u for your pray, peace.

Judas also repented and wants to make amends. Because anyway, someone had to do this task that Judas had to do. Jesus knew that someone had to do it. But Judas was given one task, did it, and then nothing more? If the scripture was to be fulfilled. So here I see a gap in the scripture again. The son of perdition is mentioned, but the grace in the story is gone. Can be explained with the dark ages balance of power in church history and simply changed. Matthew 27:1-10 References:

Acts 1:17-26 Who else would have betrayed Jesus if it had not been given to him? Remember, we can do nothing unless we receive it from the Lord. If there are any human factors that come into play here, it is possible. For all they loved Jesus and could not see beyond the deed Judas had done. This was of course costly. You do not stab the backs of those you love truly. So Judas got a real lying thought that made him do this. And the Apostles could not see beyond and give him mercy, or ask for mercy. Or so hard were the hearts of the scribes. Here they put all the blame on Judas. Take care and try and keep your back free. May God bless us all to partake of all the spiritual gifts to discern between right and wrong. Amen. ps for all other dear ones in the Lord, we have talk about this before. Some words are difficult becouse it is someti n g not right. Love u

    Persecution (Part 6)

As we see the further conquest and gradual movement into the covenant land of promise after Moses' demise; we see a common theme of brief victories followed by long periods of time when the Israelites at least became lazy in their application of faith based on these mandates. Deuteronomy 8:11 warns: Beware that thou forget not the LORD thy God, in not keeping his commandments, and his judgments, and his statutes, which I command thee this day:...and Isaiah 1:5 shows in the process of time Why should ye be stricken any more? ye will revolt more and more: the whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint.

The enemy began with attempting to discourage the report of those living in the land who appeared as grasshoppers in their sight ( Numbers 13:13). This was no exaggeration as the offspring of giants were said to exist there. God always asks man to go beyond his own efforts and capabilities so as not to bring pride into their hearts at what He accomplishes. Pride; of course was Lucifer's downfall; and Proverbs 16:18 warns us that pride comes before a fall.

This; no doubt was a large part of Saul's initial downfall; that is he thought that because of his great physical stature and his position that he could be presumptive. David made the same mistake when Satan influenced him to take a census of the people; which in itself wasn't necessarily evil; as Jesus Himself pointed out in Luke 14 with a king going after another army that was bigger and negotiating first; we actually see the Lord whittling down an army of that size in Leviticus 26:8 down to 300 capable men; again for the same logic. It was finding security as to his own reserves of strength that David was being tested for; although the sin was different with Bathsheeba we can see him using his position of kingship to be presumptive as to doing whatever he felt like doing and disregarding the consequences. Thankfully Psalm 51 and other passages show he quickly repented.

Hi dear "Richard H Priday" thank you for your well-formulated words. Just thought I'd ask if you could elaborate on your words here, What Moses did was because he lost patience with the people:

himself in striking the rock in anger for water so after 40 years of them "putzing around" in the desert; more or less they finally stopped going in circles but only Joshua and Caleb from that generation entered; Moses wasn't allowed because of striking the rock as he did (representing Christ).

Imagine what a pain it must have been to walk in the desert like this. So close and yet so far away. Surely Moses didn't know right away why he wasn't allowed to enter the Promised Land? However, since the Lord allowed Moses to be the leader, the Lord had a plan that Moses would also be allowed to enter. But as they say, man cannot be trusted. Or was it only the Book of the Law that Moses was to establish for the people of Israel that was the purpose of Moses' journey. One man's mistake affected an entire people. Or was it one man's deed that would prove that God was with them. Even without water, food, and think, they missed Egypt and the garlic. That feeds my heart! Thanks in advance for your response, love you in Christ.

    Persecution (Part 5) Moses

It seems the backside of the desert repeats itself as a theme; and some other things regarding persecution have similarities to earlier posts. We remember that Moses was miraculously preserved (the enemy attempted to thwart God using Moses to deliver His people from the onset); but the irony was that they actually paid the mother to take care of him after placing him in a basket.

    Mondo bizarro.

Fast forward to when he was 40 years old; and Moses tried to "jump start" God's deliverance by killing a man abusing a Hebrew servant ( Exodus 2:11-12). God then has to hold back that plan for another 40 years until He is ready to call and equip him for the job. After getting over his own shyness and testing God (kind of like with Abraham asking about any rightous in Sodom holding back God's judgment) He patiently prepared him and gave him Aaron to assist him (which would cause a colossal issue later on when he led the idolatrous calf worship to appease the people when he took so long to return-a pattern with Saul also; interesting!)

Anyhoo; Moses had to endure the increasing intransigence of the Pharoah whose heart was so hard that God's judgment didn't phase him. He finally relented but as always; once some relief occurred attempted to recapture those who had left to bring them back to slavery and the Egyptian army was routed. It seems the Pharaoh himself for a time survived.

After this event there was that deplorable incident where Aaron claims that objects somehow came out of the water in the form of a calf ( Exodus 32:24) that were thrown into the fire. Seems too bizarre to be true. Moses had to put up with resistance and sinned himself in striking the rock in anger for water so after 40 years of them "putzing around" in the desert; more or less they finally stopped going in circles but only Joshua and Caleb from that generation entered; Moses wasn't allowed because of striking the rock as he did (representing Christ).

    32 Remember Lot's wife.

33 Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it. ( Luke 17:32-33).

To keep this verse in context; we need to see that it wasn't preservation of life that was the whole issue here; it was dying to self gratification and the world as temptations to hold us back from His deliverance when it comes. One may ask "ok what does this have to do with persecution?" In this case; the enemy had a stranglehold on Lot and his family that began when he chose to move to the fertile area of the plain and Abraham decided to hang out in the backside of the desert. Nothing wrong with that a man in the flesh would argue. It is unclear how much Lot knew about the area when he arrived; but no doubt he saw opportunity to prosper economically in that location; and it is certain that at some point the sin became so clear that it caused his "righteous soul to be vexed" ( 2 Peter 2:8 reveals that fact to us). So I am "perplexed" (get it it rhymes with vexed; ok give me some latitude it's late)...

The enemy in a sense was persecuting him; and in this case it was mostly his own fault. No one was forcing him to stay there; no doubt and based on how the story ended it is clear they had little respect for him; but until he had to speak up they probably tolerated him. That was the men's response in Genesis 19:9 when to appease the sodomites Lot offered his daughters to them instead of what they thought were men but were angels of God. God delivered Lot but it reminds us of Revelation where we are told not to be naked ( Revelation 16:15 at the onset of the bowl judgments). This is reminiscent of those who make it to heaven; but as through the fire suffering loss ( 1 Corinthians 3:15). All of scripture fits together and is useful ( 2 Timothy 3:16).

The point is; just like Jonah we can't run and hide from being salt and light and proclaiming the truth and we can't be content compromising with evil.

    Persecution (Part 3)

Cain and Abel. And the LORD said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother's keeper? ( Gen. 4:9).

And here we have it. The first murder in scripture; that happened with the first two children that Adam and Eve had where their first child was killed by the second. We note that it was the unsuitable sacrifice that was displeasing to God and that God warned Cain earlier that sin was at the door but he must master it. There are several lessons here as to the root causes of the event; no doubt Cain was jealous of Abel and probably thought in his pride that he had a better way to offer something to the Lord than shedding blood. It wasn't necessariy wrong as to a ceremonial sort of grain offering later on in scripture. At this point; however we see a recurring pattern thereafter in scripture; naely with Saul attempting to perform a sacrifice and take over the priest's role in absentia because of a delay of his coming. That was the first step leading to his being dethroned; and his jealousy of David to come was to cause a number of assassination attempts a well as him generally losing his mind.

It is noteworthy here that persecution comes quite often from those in our "Christian" circles; and we see this pattern in other religions as well when traditional tenants of a particular faith (especially in Islam) are not followed. This is a sign of the last days as we see from admonitions from Peter; Paul and Timothy as to the general behavior when many fall away.

The beginning of the persecution of God's people who were being called forth came to fruition the first time with Moses in Egypt.

Whenever there is a special call from God the enemy comes to resist it. God started building His chosen nation from Abraham. At the time although he lived in the corner of the desert God blessed him; and the troubles he did have at the time were lack of trust in God to complete His promises for his offspring.

    Rev.16.12 (2 of 2)

Kings of the east are the 144,000 'sanctified ones' and from various hints provided by the spirit. for which we shall begin with the river of time, is set on the east. "And the Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden;" Which is set in the world of the Spirit so God creates a microcosm of Fellowship of God with Man 'in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens' (Gen.2.4,8). The river flowed straight to the garden and thereafter he set four angels river heads which included the river Euphrates as well. "And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads. "And the fourth river is Euphrates."(2.10,14)

We shall not worry over the direction of th river but propose the east as the Word which was with God so we have the wind taking order for there. "And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the Lord caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided."(Exod.14.21) God made angels ministers of fire; similarly he does with wind, controlled by four angels."And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea,"(Rev.7.1-2). In the dream of the Pharaoh it is an east wind that causes the famine in the land of Egypt. "And, behold, seven thin ears and blasted with the east wind sprung up after them."(Gen.41.6). What are we to infer from these, God makes angels, spirits? Thus whom God has foreknown are in His safekeeping. But for Judas, he chose to be the son of perdition." I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled."( Jn 17.12). '144' is the seal of the living God."And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen."(Rev.19.14)

Rev.16.12 "Kings of the east" (1 of 2)

"And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared."

God promises,as the Spirit puts it "In the same day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates:"(Gen.15.18) The Spirit also from a visison given to St John refers the significance of this great river. "And the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God,/Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates./And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men." (Rev.9.13-15). The Spirit meticulously brings two narratives on a single point: the great river that God has set apart and placed four angels in charge. It was thus in the Will of God and when God set his Son on his right hand of his throne in heaven, and commands,"Loose the four angels', the resultant action takes place in md-air for which God already set angels over the waters, winds fire and over the harvest,'the earth is ripe.' We can gather this from the voice from the four horns of the golden altar. Thus the throne and the temple have been set in motion from the day God decreed for his Son. (Ps.2.7;110.4) Naturally God had adopted Abraham and his seed, all heirs of promise are entitled to it.

The physical features of the earth framed by the God give us angels who are spirits in His service. It is God "Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire:/ Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever."(Ps.104.4-5) As a proof of it is the river Euphrates, which shall play a crucial role when Satan incites armies of Gog and Magog.(20.8-9) Destruction of kings

    Gen.14.18-21 "In the same day"

"In the same day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates."

There is only one Covenant which is the Fellowship of God with Man to which any man may join in faith. God is a Spirit whereas the Man component is the Word which was with God, and who shall be sent to the world in fulness of time. By a decree God declares,"Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee." From example of the Pharaoh's dream the number Seven establishes any man, thing or place name shall have their significance established according to the Law of the Spirit. Thus the seven well favoured kine and fat-fleshed mean same as the seven ears of corn came up upon one stalk, rank and good.' Joseph answers correctly,"And Joseph said unto Pharaoh, The dream of Pharaoh is one: God hath shewed Pharaoh what he is about to do."(Gen.41.2-25)

God is placing Abraham into the Covenant as the heir of promise and the same day is not any day set on calendar but according to the divine Will. God names one boundary which is the river, and the Spirit for emphasis refers to it as the great river, the river Euphrates. Compare it with this line,"Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates."(Rev.9.14). This is with reference to the world of the Spirit. When God adopted Abraham into the Fellowship of God with Jesus Christ in whom is his fulness the v.18 in the narrative mode of the Spirit includes both worlds of the body (the river Egypt), and of the Spirit (the great river, the river Euphrates).

God has promised all these Gentile nations to his Son. "Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession."(Ps.2.8)

    Persecution (Part 2)

The root cause; therefore of persecution ultimately is God Himself. The enemy is a tool used; even with Paul in the New Testament to test his faith; and in his case "my grace is sufficient for thee". Quoting 2 Corinthians 12:9: And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

Let the prosperity teachers squirm over this quote; not only is their financial comfort assailed (as other verses point out the appalling conditions Paul went through in and even out of prison); but it shows that not all infirmities are sin; and not all are instantly cured because we have some sort of way of controlling God over the matter.

If we are to study a matter in its entirety scripturally a chronological survey of scripture is in order. First of all we can see from Genesis 3 that the enemy of our souls was at work from the beginning in terms of assault of the mind; so to speak and the victory was already prophesied from the beginning of Christ's atonement for sin ( Gen. 3:15). The enemy clearly is the means for testing a believer; but again God is forever looking at the hearts of men and dealing with things on an "as need" basis.

The contention of the enemy no doubt was due to Lucifer at an earlier date losing his access to the throne room and worship in heaven and especially because there was no remedy for him and any other angelic beings that rebelled after his insurrection due to pride and wanting to usurp God's position of worship. This results in a general hatred for men and stems toward two forms of persecution. The first is tempting men and alluring them to turn from the Lord because either He can't be trusted or he has something (supposedly) better for them that the Lord is trying to restrict someone (for good reason) to find out about. The second as we see with Cain is outright assault.

    Persecution to come.

This after a brief consideration of the matter is likely to be another "blockbuster" series of postings (at least in volume) as there is much to be said on the subject. I would venture to say that after the concept of the Creation of man; and God's redemptive plan that it is; in one form or another a theme taking up large amounts of Scripture and I'm surprised really that I haven't done a study on that specifically.

The logic here reminds me of C.S. Lewis where he discussed Christ as being a liar; lunatic or telling the truth. That is in Mere Christianity and I believe the subject at hand warrants the complete quote.

"I am trying here to prevent anyone saying the really foolish thing that people often say about Him [that is, Christ]: 'I'm ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I don't accept His claim to be God.' That is the one thing we must not say. A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic-on a level with the man who says he is a poached egg-or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God: or else a madman or something worse. You can shut Him up for a fool, you can spit at Him and kill Him as a demon; or you can fall at His feet and call Him Lord and God. But let us not come up with any patronising nonsense about His being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to."

If anything needs to be heard in many so called churches today about the veracity of Christ's exclusivity as the "I am" of scripture this quote is most applicable (see John 8:58). Some don't seem to understand this basic truth that God was implying He was God in the flesh despite the clear meaning of His preexistence to Abraham in this verse which demonstrates His presence before time began. This is the prime bone of contention; no doubt because of Satan's envy of Him.

Matthew 10:16 "I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves.

This is my most quoted verse as there seems to be a number of applications. The passage in context is discussing going out and sharing the Gospel and no doubt has prophetic near term implications for the Apostles when they would go before those in authority and die for their faith eventually; but there is always the long term last days and Tribulation fulfillment when the whole world tries believers and puts them to death.

This passage has me thinking about the information we hear about in the news every day. I understand those who don't listen to anything as the narrative constantly being put into our heads is how terrible things are in the world around us; and that certainly is true; albeit any good news is conveniently absent (with the exception it seems of the local news about the sports team winning a game). Therefore; not only is the tone negative but what to pray is not clear as we are inundated with their narrative as to the root of a problem nested within whatever political skew the reporters are bent to. We see basically a cloning or carbon copy for the old schoolers of the same stories; and little if any original thinking or unbiased reporting. Therefore it is hard to handle the news and hard to know where to start praying for things going on; as those pulling the strings aren't going to show themselves; their true agenda; etc.

On the other hand; we want to be prepared; if not for our own sake whether financial; or storing supplies we want to be a blessing to others. A large part of that is through patiently praying and long term preparations for any possible outcome which certainly is wise. We dare not depend on help from others or the powers that be when crisis hits; although we need to heed to His calling whether in a crisis we do or don't accept that aid.

Let us try to be balanced in this matter and seek the truth.

    e. (cont'd). This judgement for believers would be some time after our death or at the rapture (the snatching away) of those in Christ.

    f. The Bible doesn't speak of the judgement of animals, as animals are outside the scope of sin, the sin nature, and God's Commands. The fact that some animals can be quite ferocious and suffer ills as we do, is simply because of the effects of sin that has permeated all of creation. Humans made in God's Image, though we're now horribly marred, are the ones in desperate need for forgiveness & redemption. But in that coming day, when the new heavens & Earth are created, all of God's creation will be pure & holy - Satan & his devils bound for eternity.

    g. As stated earlier, all sins are despicable to God & worthy of punishment. And that punishment is hell, or more specifically, the Lake of Fire ( Revelation 20:10-15). All sinners, whether the most evil & violent among them or even those who have done some wrong in their lives (& that's all of us), or even those who have shown disdain to the salvation of God, all these will suffer in hell. Only two ways for mankind to go: Matthew 7:13,14, the narrow (strait) gate leading to eternal life, or the wide gate to eternal destruction - no middle ground (or gate).

Hope I've answered your questions, though briefly. People read & understand the Bible in different ways. As you read it prayerfully, allow the Holy Spirit to reveal all that you need to understand & act upon. Blessings.

    c. (cont'd). Or, maybe the illustration that Jesus gave in Luke 12:42-48 is what some might believe are grades of punishment to sinners - the LORD God is always Just in all His doings.

    d. Those of Israel who had not the redemptive of Work of Christ done for them as yet, were required to be obedient to God's Commands, fulfil the sacrifices which stayed God's Wrath from them and to await the coming full sacrifice of the Son of God. When they were obedient, this demonstrated a real faith in God's Word to them and God's Work for them. So in Hebrews chapter 11, we see a great number of men and women commended for their faith & martyrs' death, "these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise: God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect" ( Hebrews 11:39,40). Both the OT & NT saints will be judged on the same basis: Faith (the one group looking forward to Calvary & the other looking back).

    e. There are various beliefs as to when God's Judgements are given, at death or sometime after. From my reading of the Word, I believe there is an immediate judgement for all who die, whose spirit must leave this lifeless body. Jesus gave the account of the rich man & the beggar Lazarus at their respective deaths ( Luke 16:19-31). Here, Jesus (under the OT economy) showed the suffering of the one who lived carelessly & heartlessly in hades & the beggar who struggled to live, but given a place beside Abraham. This appears to be a temporary residence & punishment awaiting further judgement. For the believer post-Cross, our sins have already been judged & we have walked carefully before the LORD. Our only other judgement is given in 2 Corinthians 5:10, otherwise called the "Bema Seat Judgement". Here, our salvation is not in judgement (that was already accomplished at Calvary), but how we have lived this new life & used our gifts for the Lord. To Page 3.

Nice to hear from you again CrossTalker. So, to your questions.

    a. You can read a little about Tobit in the book of the same name; and you can find it on this KJBO Site under Standard KJB Apocrypha. Tobit was from the tribe of Naphtali and was apparently blind (Tobit 2:7-10). Since I am not at all studied in any of these apocryphal books, I will leave you to research the man & his writings; remembering this is what is considered OT Apocrypha, writings between the Testaments, which neither the Jews nor Jesus referred to. Hence, proceed with caution, would be my best advice.

    b. Re: yoga. Coming from a partial Indian background and knowing what is done over there by its adherents, I would stay well clear of it. In the Indian context, yoga is a holistic discipline involving various physical postures (asanas), breath control (pranayama), and meditation (with chanting & prayers to the deities), deeply rooted in the spiritual (Hindu) and philosophical traditions. In our Western society, the emphasis is mainly on the physical side, but I say, why dabble in something that has its roots in idolatry and mysticism, when a believer can engage in many other useful physical exercises with the greatest spiritual exercise of all in prayer & reading & meditating on God's Word.

    c. I'm unsure where this person gained the information of "double judgements" and "light punishment". It would be useful to know what Scriptures were used to support this. Maybe, some RC teaching of praying for the dead & therefore the need of a purgatory are reflected here, and even this teaching is taken & interpreted from the apocryphal book 2 Maccabees 12:39-45. Whereas the Bible clearly tells us that all of us are sinners and worthy of punishment in hell, but for the Grace of God to save us if only we repent and turn from sin and take hold of His Son in faith to redeem us ( Romans 3:23,24; Hebrews 9:27). Gen.41.1-7 "It was a dream" (2 of 2)

God deals with Pharaoh directly so He shall bring to surface a crime concealed by 10 brethren against Joseph and their father, who is the heir of promise in his Son. Bedies Joseph is set down in the everlasting Covenant as the double for his Son. Nations are besides the point but the soul as the sign for his Son is how the Spirit has orgainzed the holiness of God theFather. When God exhorts man, Be ye holy for I am holy, it is his Son Jesus Christ who is the visible image of the invisible God. For this reason it pleased God that in him should all his fulness should dwell.

Coming back to the Pharaoh, "he stood by the river./And, behold, there came up out of the river seven well favoured kine and fatfleshed; and they fed in a meadow." The river may in all probably was the river Nile but the Spirit is narrating the dream and not geography, so it stands in the frame of reference to the Alpha aspect of Jesus Christ and it is the river of time. So seven years can have only one meaning. Seven as a whole number refers to the Law of the Spirit or the Word which was God. By the same token we compare the river for God's providence, God in his mercy sends Moses where the river plays a part, "she took for him an ark of bulrushes, and daubed it with slime and with pitch, and put the child therein."(Exod.2.3) The Spirit invites comparison with the ark of Noah all such comparison is valid since the intent of the God document is for soundness in the soul where the heart as a spiritual space creates a word, which for a believer is the world framed by the word of God. Speaking of 'my reins and my heart the Psalmist refers to his altar. " so will I compass thine altar, O Lord" (Ps.26.6). Prayer of His saints are ever before the throne.(Rev.5.8)These are heard in heaven. "And one of the four beasts gave unto the seven angels seven golden vials full of the wrath of God," For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.

    Gen.41.1-7 "it was a dream" (1 of 2)

Before we discuss this dream we shall compare another dream so we shall understand the role of the peculiar narrative mode of the Holy Spirit. The thrust of it is for our spiritual instruction in righteousness. So history of nations is of the least concerns of the Spirit. Why nations fight against God is what we are to look for. "t shall even be as when an hungry man dreameth, and, behold, he eateth; but he awaketh, and his soul is empty: or as when a thirsty man dreameth, and, behold, he drinketh; but he awaketh, and, behold, he is faint, and his soul hath appetite: so shall the multitude of all the nations be, that fight against mount Zion"(Isa.29.8) Isaiah refers here to the emptiness of soul despite of a feast and the dilemma is what St Pauls calls the enmity of flesh against the spirit so it is the body of death we look at. A sinful man lives for his pleasure but he is pampering his body for the day of slaughter."Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth, and been wanton; ye have nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter."(Jas.5.5) St Paul annotates it thus: "For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:/But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members./O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?"(Rom.7.22-24) God is the sole authority over the soul of man and he shall give count of it in the day of slaughter which has another name,-Great White Throne judgment.(Rev.20.11-19)

Coming back to the dream of Pharaoh, God is warning him about a famine in the offing. God had already prepared His sanctied ones from the great tribulation leading the ungodly nations to the day of slaughter. It is thus the rider on the black horses sets out and power is given to him. (Rev.6.5-6). God deals with Pharaoh directly so He shall bring to surface a crime concealed by 10 brethren against Joseph

no matter what a person has done or is capable of doing

the Bottom line most important thing for everyone is...

That there name be written in the book of Life

like a sign in Guestbook at a ceremony or hotel

when a person goes there ,they sign there name in it

when a person goes to God's ceremony or hotel

they will find there name has Already been signed..

    by the hand of God

The kingdom of God is at hand

Firstly, Thanks for the thoughtful answers and your guidance.

I'm unfamiliar with the deuterocanonical book of Tobit. Never heard of it. Can you tell me what Tobit is?

Secondly, I'd like to follow up with a few more questions if you don't mind.

    Question 1: (Somethings are permissible?)

Is practicing yoga biblically acceptable? Given it's History.

And also, Someone said that there would be double judgments: that ONLY murderers & unbelievers will be condemned to hell, while everyone else, after they die, will face light punishment (mostly in the form of whippings) before being allowed into heaven.

    Question 2: (Judgment)

    a) Does the Bible mention double judgments? How were/will be the people in the Old Testament judged, and how are those who follow Christ judged?

    b) According to biblical teaching, is judgment immediate after death?

    c) And does the Bible speak about animals being judged as OT?

    Question 3: (Sins)

According to the Bible, which sins lead to hell?

Hope you have a fantastic day, I'm eager to hear from you.

    Hi Babu.

Thanks for your reply and I have the same inclination as you have on the "one second isn't always one second". Just to assure you that my curiousity isn't on my unbelieve or lacking like the Jews that Paul had written to in Hebrews. It is just my conviction to seek out plausible answers to questions from unbelievers.

I have many kins that are still outside the Kingdom and hope that by living a life-style that is discipline ( unlike when I was younger ) and also able to answer ALL their questions. This much I owe to Our Lord Jesus from dragging me out of the mud i was in and placed me beside the still waters.

Getting back on fossil fuel.....the question raised stem from the fact that the present sustainability drive to reduce carbon emission, don't seem to be a complete solutions to the problems that the world is facing. So, i am doing my own research to align science and the Holy Bible on this issue and hopefully, if God is willing, to permit me the knowledge and wisdom which i seeked.

Glad you have replied and look forward to study the verses quoted to see if there is any hint or clue on the matter. Thanks and God Bless.

I haven't heard from the gentleman who was in crisis mode a couple days ago and I hope we hear something soon.

I did want to mention seeing the support here and what seems to be a new surge in prayer emphasis is good; and hearing what people have been through is sobering; and I am thankful people can open their hearts. I've been through some stuff myself.

I would be foolish to attempt to be verbose in explaining what my own little understanding is of God's wisdom and Providence with all the evils of the world. We are fools for Christ in more than one way. We are hated ultimately because of He who we believe since they hated Him when He came of course we are told in the Gospels as His disciples to expect the same.

I can't explain what I know but nonetheless what Paul said is true; nothing can separate us from the love of God. Even when our lives are in the trasheap of this world's "respectability" we can be bold because He reigns. Many of us probably feel like the preverbal "misfits" from that old Rudolph Christmas animated TV tale (which us old fogies remember from childhood). We are; as Paul said like the scum of the earth. But nonetheless to those He has called and chosen they will be drawn to us if the Spirit reigns in our lives. We know that the unsaved are basically like a guinea pig on a wheel in a cage running in circles. Or a carrot on a stick is something everyone chases after.

Nonetheless; God can intervene. In my situation my Dad who was so mentally abusive for so long just doesn't seem to have it in him anymore. I pray somehow to communicate the Gospel and I feel sharing what the Lord has done is one of the best ways to do that.

I will conclude by saying that truly we are more than conquerors. Satan can do what God allows and if we are martyrs God allows it for His purposes. Nonetheless it should be made clear that life is a gift from God.

Keep looking up the time of our redemption draws near ( Luke 21:28)
