Rev.11 "At the same hour' (1 of 2)

"And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven."

The earthquake was qualified as 'great' signallinga great change as effected from heaven. These great voices owe to the gospel of God and the host of heaven, 'sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?'"And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him." This passage as to the role of angels we shall come anon. (Heb.1.6-14)We shall at the moment say that the single measurement holding together heaven and earth includes them. Thus we have seven angels associated with the everlasting gospel.

" And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying,." The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord,"

The Hour specifies several things. The four angels in charge of the great river are allowed to begin their task. They were prepared for this hour. "And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour."(Rev.9.15) The sixth angel begins and the when the seventh angel sounds from heaven we hear this change over,"The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever."(Rev.11.15)

In order to understand the significance the four angels whose task go beyond an hour. "and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men." (9.15) This refers to the events mentioned in Rev.16.17 "And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done." This explains the seven seals of the book. The angels 4 in number holding up four winds in (Rev.7.1) require to be subsumed int.o the entire narrative. Instead of the Lamb slain in Rev.5.6

The case for the ( lost?) art of biblical argument .

The best examples of biblical argument can be found in the two letters of Paul to the Romans and Hebrews.

There is in the UK one or two national papers that publish the apeal courts ruling and arguments .

I'm no lawyer but they are enlightening . The case is stated and the appeal courts ruling with their argument as to why the appeal is upheld or denied . If you can follow their argument and it is sound you will reach the same conclusion as the courts and thus Justice is seen or understood to be done .

If there is a flaw in the argument then there may well be grounds for a further appeal .

Paul's two letters in particular can be likened to such arguments in that he has under God written them in such a way as they are meant to be followed . ( not as easy as you might think) " It is written " How can to men walk together unless they agree"?

If two men are discussing something of import as they are walking ,they do not look at each other but each is considering the matter in their own mind . If something is said that is either misunderstood or disagreed with . They stop and face each other and either resolve the matter and carry on or part company or stop the discussion .

So likewise we must walk with Paul up the mountain .

Every so often he stops ( as all men do) and takes a breather and looks back and says " Therefore ." (In the light of all that has been said so far ) " count yourself dead to sin" for instance.

Then continues developing his argument . To what purpose? That we may judge things as he does ,come to the same conclusions arrive at the same goal " till we all come..".

In his arguments he does not neglect the scriptures but rather uses them in their proper context to uphold his argument.and thus proves his case to the Jews as also to the Gentiles .

Faith is not blind . We have two sets of eyes . That of the body and " the eyes of our understanding "

The reduction of the gospel of Jesus Christ .

Not that it can be reduced but men have ignored the greater part of it fir A peace sake .

I'm not going to go over the doctrine of being BORN again for it is simple enough and is well worn .

But suffice to say to be BORN again is in very truth to be de,iveted from Egypt's bondage ( the world) and if Pharos dominion ( the devil ) by what means? The blood of a lamb ,the Wird of God and the power of God ( by grace alone).

Glory to God for ever ! For that deliverance from .

But to be BORN as in this life is but the beginning it is not the be all and end all of that life .

Are we not expected to grow? To be proficient in this life and grow into young men and more often than not to fatherhood?

But man has made the promised land into heaven and Jordan death .

And the wandering in the wilderness for 40 years the Christian norm .

It cannot be said that God forsook them . It cannot be said they did not have miracles every day twice on Saturday . It cannot be said of a lot of things but with all that they were outside of the centre of Gods will .For that entailed them entering into the promised land. Being " more than conquerors " and doing thecwill of God .

For they were not only saved from bondage but were saved unto God .

It only took them I think just ver two years to go from Egypt to the banks of the river Jordan .

Then God saud " Go in and possess the land for I have given it to you"

Paul warns us " Not to be like them who entered not in because of unbelief" unbelief is not only just not believing God which is bad enough . But it is also believing the wrong message.. Paul also warned the church not to be like Eve also . Did she not be.I eve the wrong message? " Thou shalt not surely die"

The wilderness was to be but 'boot camp' which is where civiliansc are turned into soldiers .

And learn to obey commands .

Is it not written that God proved them there? Was not the Lord also proved in a wilderness ?

Again thanks for your reply but am unable to see your point .

If we look at the letters of Paul, in particular the letters to the Romans and Hebrews we find he presents an ' argument" that is to say a line of thought that is designed to lead us to the same conclusions as he has " till we all come to a unity of the faith") using those scriptures rightly used in their context to uphold his argument . For he desired above all that we shouid come to the same understanding of the same mind etc in the matters he was presenting . To the Jews primarily in Hebrews and the gentiles in Romans . Though both are very profitable fir all .

Now people can get things wrong fir no man is infallible though some religionists think they are . But even if we speak the truth as it is in Christ and according to all the scriptures that does not make me or you infallible but rather we are but like the moon which having no light of its own bares witness to the truth .

Thus if I am mistaken it is not much use to me if all I am faced with is verses of scripture.

Fir that is what I had in the beginning but rather if you perceive my error then by that understanding of those scriptures we shouid be able to show or prove my error by such arguments and show or prove a right understanding of them

For if not there is no profit fir anyone fir yiu me or anyone else reading these posts .

For does not faith in God come by understanding the Word of God? Not just by the letter .

Thus I cannot nor do not deny the scriptures you quoted but cannot see or rather understand the relevance ( you) put to them in this discussion .

For I was seeking to prove that Lot was walking in the flesh not the Spirit by sight and not by faith though he was still counted righteous and that such a life " will suffer loss as through fire".

That Paul was speaking to Christian's when he said of some " ye are yet carnal".

We are called to grown in grace and in the knowledge of God. From " little children" to 1 John

Hello Ccshell8. Those are interesting questions, that most of us probably haven't given much thought to. Maybe, for the fact that not a lot of detail is given about these crowns seen the many NT passages, we can only guess whether these are physical crowns or something else. And yes, the "gift of Salvation" is certainly enough, for we have been redeemed by no greater payment for us, than the death & resurrection of our Savior.

So why the mention of crowns? When we look at the various verses that speak of this, in my understanding they are not necessarily physical crowns, even as the Apostle Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 9:25, "And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible". Here, Paul compares the physical crown given to the winning athlete & this crown is temporal & short-lived for praise (i.e. how many of us regularly remember & speak about past great athletes? We have other more important things to engage our minds). But the crowns that Paul, Peter, & James write about are not only incorruptible, but I feel more to do with the type of entrance we have into Heaven/Kingdom of God.

Maybe 2 Peter 1:10,11 helps us a little here: "Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things (i.e. the things mentioned in verses 5-8), ye shall never fall: For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ." Here, Peter speaks about an 'abundant entrance in the everlasting kingdom'; not just an entrance (i.e. with Christ is our sure hope & salvation guaranteed by His death on the Cross), but an ABUNDANT entrance for those who have been faithful in personal life & service to our LORD God, continually waiting & looking for Jesus' Coming, and also to those who have been sorely tested, persecuted or martyred & WON. Could these be those crowns?

if something does not consume n release,, Its Not Alive

here God creates creatures/beings from raw materials at the job sight, the earth is iron and all on its surface are iron ore creatures,,iron ore creatures only see iron matter or mass created from the iron place

years ago it showed a graph where humans can only see 10% of what is actually around them.right in the center

Christ's persecution continued. Further assaults from the Pharisees and other stresses on the Son of God.

We can take a moment of solace to consider the early days with the Disciples; and their eagerness to serve; leave all behind; etc.

There was great joy; no doubt in hearing how Jesus spoke with authority and truly had a mission He was called for. The miracles no doubt were exciting if for no other reason we don't see a prophet doing anything since the Old Testament; and miracles actually many centuries before that seemed to not have been mentioned. Jesus had His hands full; and had to patiently disciple them along with may other followers and would be disciples that He had to sift through and whittle out; as sadly enough many were along for the ride but didn't want to give it all up for the sake of the Kingdom of God.

And then there was Judas; Iscariot that is-not the other disciple with the same name. Along with His knowledge of where He would end up a few years later; Jesus also knew this man was a thief at best and would betray Him and a tare with the wheat at the worst. We need to consider the fact that until the end the others had no idea who he was; and if it wasn't kept a secret no doubt the others would have found a way to eliminate the problem; let's leave it at that. Thus this had to be kept quiet; along with the eventual abandonment of all the disciples in Gethsemene; Peter having to be rebuked for being a spokesperson for the Devil; and also dissention as to who was the greatest. He didn't need all this crap; but it came with the territory. He didn't say it immediately; but repeatedly would warn that His destiny was to die in Jerusalem and God closed their minds and they were fearful to ask about it. So He knew at His time of greatest need they would repeatedly fall asleep and run away from Him.

It is truly sobering to see the weight of these issues with an emphasis of much of the Gospels on the consummation of His last week on earth.

The persecution of Christ: The Pharisees and many sides of evil.

I am not sure of anyone that has studied this but it doesn't take long to realize just how sickening it truly was in regard to the Pharisees. Jesus no doubt had righteous indignation; and eventually upbraided them severely starting with the initial overturning of the moneychangers table and the later one along with an entire chapter in Mattew where He upbraided them for their various forms of hypocrisy no less than SEVEN times. That; no doubt didn't help matters with their persecution; but He knew His time was coming for the cross and that until that time they couldn't do anything about their seething wrath in order to destroy Him.

Of course; if we step back we realize that it shouldn't have been this way. The Pharisees should have been the first ones to recognize and embrace Jesus as the Messiah and it took some real effort to have such unbelief. What was the law Jesus told men to follow; basically do what they say but do not follow their example ( Matthew 23:3). This was late in the game during His final days on earth before Calvary; but the law was started by God and could not be altered; just overtaken by the covenant of grace established to bring in all men; Jews then Gentiles into the fold of God (see John 10:16). But Christ came for the lost; not for self righteous who "needed no physician" ( Mark 2:17). And that is where we will start at the onset of His ministry.

They started their trash talking (I can't define it as anything else) earlier in verse 6. But some of the scribes were sitting there and thinking in their hearts, 7"Why does this man speak like this? He is blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?"

After the healing of the paralytic and some time passed the next insult was this When the scribes who were Pharisees saw Jesus eating with these people, they asked His disciples, "Why does He eat with tax collectors and sinners?" Thus Jesus responded with verse 17

Suffering of Christ during His public ministry.

The initiation of Christ's public ministry was an immediate retreat to be tempted of the Devil in the wilderness for 40 days after being baptized and having the Spirit come down from heaven to empower Him. Scientifically after the first few days the body sort of shuts down as to desire for food; but once nutrients are taken to a certain level the body seeks them from depleting vital organs. Thus the second wave of real hunger came with full force and of course Satan was in the wings at this moment to test Him.

Aside from the hunger which no doubt was very intense; we have the spiritual temptation to avoid all the suffering to come. The enemy no doubt wouldn't waste such an offer on a mere man except for Antichrist in the future of having all kingdoms of the earth and their glory to be given. After temptation to use His own deity to create food; suicidal suggestions and this final offering to have it all and give Satan the glory Jesus was done for now with Satan's direct influence and the angels came and ministered to Him as they would later on in Gethsemene.

There appeared to be an initial period of time when Jesus was; for instance turning water into wine when there was little resistance. The Pharisees didn't take long to resist Him; however. The first major problem was in His own hometown; and He stated that a prophet has honor everywhere but his hometown ( Matthew 13:54-58). The surrounding areas had already been warned about and recieved harsh statements for their unbelief. We see this and upbraiding of other cities towards the end of Matthew 11.

In regard to the Pharisees they tried to kill Him about 10 times; at least what is recorded BEFORE the cross. We are reminded of David where Saul tried to pierce him with a javelin multiple times because of an evil spirit tormenting him. In the next segment we will examine the multiple ways the Pharisees tormented Him; using every tactic imaginable.

Thanks. We just had an evening service where brother Steve discussed the balance of the love of Christ and preaching about judgment and he mentioned how sitting at the foot of the cross whittles us all down to size realizing how great a love He had for us when we were yet sinners.

It seems a lot of folks only look at the cross and not at all the other things Christ went through before that. Some look to the 40 days and 40 nights in the wilderness in the fast; although Moses actually had to do this TWICE because of Israel's rebellion through supernatural strength. Whether he ate in between no man knows.

There is sort of a discontinuity here; or an unknown place where we can separate suffering from persecution. We can say dogmatically that Christ never sinned hence nothing of his own doing contributed to his miseries; we see that He only said what the Father told Him to say hence knew when not to say things and taught others that as well in regard to not broadcasting certain miracles especially at the onset of His ministry. I won't elaborate but mostly it was to draw away attention from being a great teacher and focusing on forgiveness of sins and of course that could only happen if He was indeed a member of the Godhead.

I am reminded as I write this the verse that says "when I come will there be faith on the earth?" ( Luke 18:18). This looks to when He returns and the justice finally brought to the world's ills in general but addressing those things which we haven't seen answered during our earthly sojourn. That also reminds me of Hebrews 11:13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.

But we have a heavenly place to go to; the alternative being; sadly hell. Having spiritual discernment isn't easy; perhaps you can also pray I learn to use that gift for His glory as many don't want to hear.

Dear grace brother in Christ "Richard H Priday". Imortant thoughts. I will lift you up to the Lord. And many more with me I'll think. Stay strong in the Lord Jesus, see Him, and flow in the Holy Spirit. You know this. Belive He can, not anyone else. We cant do anything. We have to test all things in the Spirit to recognize the Lord and His will. Then we know what to do. And remember, be always glad. Acts 4:23-31 love u.

The suffering and persecution of Christ during His public ministry

I can't even be sure I can handle this topic as woefully inadequate I am in my own feeble walk with Christ. I am convinced it is imperative in light of today's often emotional charismatic events; because I notice conspicuous absence of lamenting due to sorrow over His suffering particularly in light of the fact that we were the cause of it. I want to make sure I cover it properly and take my time; so pray for me as I endeavor to tackle this most sobering lesson.

I also need to say that; as with any other concept the opposite error we can make is to somehow think there is some warranting to perpetuate this suffering through our own "saintly" actions of penitance and sacrifice; or undertaking any concept that He is somehow still suffering for us rather than victoriously at the throne of God awaiting His command to return for His church and later at Armageddon to come as conquering King. I am reminded of the C.S. Lewis quote from the other day that I stated. The Lord is coming back as absolute judge and victor and we all will bow down before Him; either we fall on the Rock or it crushes us. Look to Daniel and the vision of Nebuchadnezzar of the statue representing all kingdoms being destroyed in this way with no traces remaining and no remedy or hope for that old world to return.

Let me begin with a laundry list of all He faced.

Resistance from His own family (seen when He was 12 and with the later comment posted here; nonetheless His mother in particular along with other women were the most faithful at His greatest time of need). It does demonstrate that she was NOT perfect and sinless; however.

Resistance from those in His own hometown

Resistance from other towns He demonstrated His miraculous works in

    Resistance from the Pharisees

    Resistance from the "lawyers"

    Resistance from His own Disciples

    and finally; perhaps most disturbing

Resistance from the crowds at large at the end.

Persecution of Christ in His earthly mission: Part 2

Jesus' early life: Born in obscurity

Satan's attempt at destroying the lineage of Christ doubled down one the gig was up and Jesus was born. Thus; we have the fulfillment of of Jeremiah 31:15 Thus saith the LORD; A voice was heard in Ramah, lamentation, and bitter weeping; Rahel weeping for her children refused to be comforted for her children, because they were not. This prophecy is shown being fulfilled in Matthew 2 with the attempted killing of Herod of all infants 2 years or younger of male children and thus Jesus had to dwell with his family in Egypt until the angel informed Joseph that the danger had passed.

Jesus then spent most of his life as a humble carpenter (which I have stated before could have involved as some suggest; other construction and like pursuits). In any case He was fulfilling the usual practice of remaining with family until a traditional age of about 30; but it was part of a mystery as to the exact timing. We see that He then had 3 and a half years of ministry which mirrors that of the 2 Prophets in the Tribulation. During this time we see all sorts of persecution and sacrifice He had to make in order to make it to the cross which He certainly knew was coming well before He started public ministry.

It is an interesting thought that actually I just came up with. Jesus told others that you must follow God and not wait to fulfill obligations at home; and surely since Joseph isn't mentioned He very well may have left home around the time His own mother became a widow. That also reflects on the conversation which He was sought to have with His father conspicuously absent with his mother and brothers (see Luke 8:21). So He practiced what He preached. I will add that His request to John to dwell with her and take her in during His greatest suffering on the cross demonstrates that indeed He did have tender care for His own family and made necessary provisions.

Persecution: Christ on earth ( Isaiah 53:3-9)

3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.

5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.

8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.

9 And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.

The rest of this chapter relates to God actually designing this for the redemption of men; even wicked men like you and I. In fact He even said forgive them for they know not what they are doing when He was cricified. ( Luke 23:34).

It is a sobering thought to consider here; how a member of the Godhead would suffer and die in our place; the righteous for the unrighteous; or even more profound this was even possible. Islam says this is blasphemous as God wouldn't do something like that; they certainly have a point that demonstrates that Christ is an offence to those who do not believe; and a stumbling Block as well. When the world honors physical strength and earthly success to their definition of having authority; as well as their own expectations as to how He should rule; no wonder they all fell away so quickly on a mass scale.

    Persecution: A brief intertestimental synopsis.

The Maccabees; books one and two perhaps have the best summary of the significant events which occured after the prophets were off the scene following Malachi probably about 2 centuries later. This involved the persecution of Antiochus Epiphanes the second if I have my facts right. In any case faithfulness in the Lord allowed for revolt to be ultimately successful; but this situation was NOT to be repeated with the invasion of the Romans in AD 70 due to not heeding who Christ actually was ( Matthew 23:27) and later in 135 AD when the diaspora was made complete; more or less for over 1900 years.

This takes us to Christ the ultimate prophet; teacher and king (all which should be capitalized) as He is indeed God the Son.

We should consider all the Lord had already done to ensure the lineage of Christ would be preserved. Satan almost succeeded.

Starting with the murder of Abel; if Eve had suddenly died there would be no more heritage; or if she couldn't have any more children. Seth was to come in his place; so to speak. Then there was the corruption of the seed of men evident from Genesis 6 and that rendered them useless for human descent with the corrupted offspring and DNA not being entirely huan; as I see it.

Nosh and his family made it through the destruction of that old world as we know it; then we have the situation with Abraham and Isaac; who was only seconds from being slaughtered and that was according to God's plan of testing for Abraham. Finally we have situations where God used Bathsheeba (married after David committed adultery and; well to put it politely set up her husband for the fall on the battlefield); we also have descendants of Rahab who is referred to in not so favorable terms. God preserved the lineage and chose who He would on Joseph's side; in fact there was an event which rendered him incapable of fathering the Messiah (see Jeremiah 36:30). God chose a virgin birth to do this.

    Rev.6.17 Day of wrath

"For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?"

As the Lamb breks open the seals we come across this verse."And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;/And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind."(6.12-13) Compare this with 9.1-3: :And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit./ And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit./ And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power."In this chapter we shall come across the great army God has marshalled and He has set Apollyon an angel over the pit. We have some interesting news Plague is rare to human until recently. After the Black death in 14th century we a new form penumonia plague, and since 2007 Coconino County, AZ The death in Coconino County, which includes Flagstaff, was the first recorded death from pneumonic plague since 2007, this has resurfaced. Bites from mosquitos and ticks are proving to be more often and more lethal. If the nation thought measles were eradicated, and vaccine sceptics and alternate truth mongers have now made it more lethal for infants and at what cost? Fools say,;There is no God and it is what the ungodly nations has chosen for themselves. "There was war in heaven. God fights battles for His saints and who shall fight for the ungodly? " And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver", and crypto currency.

    Rev.17.1 'the great whore'

" Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters:"

great salvation offered by God in his Son leads His sanctified ones to the supper which the Holy Spirit labels as the supper of the great God. For those who rejected the call falls under the judgment, Thus the great whore that sits upon many waters fall under the judgment and the Spirit shows to St John. The seven angels represent the entire generations set in direct frame of reference of the generation of Jesus Christ. "And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth./And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the earth;"(Rev.16.1-2)

" And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters." On one group the Spirit of God works well whereas on the other group darkness works like a shroud. So it is darkness as Prophet Jeremiah attests,"I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light."(Jer.4.23) How can light pierce through foolish generations of man who worship false gods? "And when they heard these sayings, they were full of wrath, and cried out, saying, Great is Diana of the Ephesians./And the whole city was filled with confusion." The same confusion we have in our time, "What frenzy what patriots all! when the beast hollers 'MAGA!" does anyone thing any good shall come out of it? From the time nations lined behind their beasts seven all' through ages we have seen this great mystery at work.(Rev.17.11) Babylon the great as mystery has been around and it is what many waters signify. The heathens have went whoring after other gods as Israel did and now CUFI has taken over. But how long?" For thus hath the Lord said, The whole land shall be desolate; yet will I not make a full end."(Jer.4.27-28)

    Heb.2.4 "Great Salvation"

"How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him"

The Spirit first presents the Covenant in seven days. St John before his throne in heaven and finds the only one worthy "hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof." The Word was God has set Jesus Christ on the right hand and in his Will he introduces his Lamb, and in whom is his fulness. It is what this image presents. " stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth." (Rev.5.6; Heb.1.2-3) The salvation is qualified as great as we have the supper of 'the Great' God. For those who heard the call are set in the world of the Spirit. It is thus the Spirit presents the garden east of Eden. After the fall God set four angel, river heads giving us two narrative strands in which generation of Jesus Christ holds the '144,000' as abiding in him. For this reason the Spirit commands,'Write,Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them."(Rev.14.13) They are part of the great salvation and are called to partake in the supper of the great God. For those who rejected tribulation shall be as great as the dilemma of man who feasts in a dream and wakes up as hungry as ever. " but he awaketh, and, behold, he is faint, and his soul hath appetite: so shall the multitude of all the nations be, that fight against mount Zion." It is thus nations that rejected his Son shall seek but not find. (Jn.7.34) He tell the Jews directly,"Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, thither ye cannot come." That is when" For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be."(Mt.24.27; Isa.29.8)

    Jn.16.33 "Great tribulation" (2 of 2)

There is only one heaven and one earth which in Ge,1.1 is about the Father Son relationship. This earth abides forever since it establishes the kingdom of his dear Son so ultimately the Will is fulfilled in him That God may be all in all. In Heb.11 what we have the world framed by the word of God is part of the oneness according to the will of God. What does not belong there both heaven and earth shall be discarded. "for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea."The writer to the Hebrews also refers to it, "But now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven./And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain"(Heb.12.26-27). God set four river heads which warns us of the judgment aspect. Mercies of God falls as rain from waters above the firmament or heaven as well as flows as a river from Eden. With the fall of man the river Euphrates is qualified as 'the great river' and it is is not in one fell swoop but distributed as seven angels signify and they also instruct us that the Law of the Spirit has set every under the charge of angels. He makes angels spirits, ministers of fire. So the great river, the river Euphrates is dried preparing te way for kings of the east. The sixth angel warns us of the last days. "And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them."(Rev.9.16)

Similar to great tribulation we have supper with Jesus and of the great God. "And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;"(Rev.19.16; Rev.3.20-21) Great as adjuective merely instructs the judgment aspect of the living God.

    Jn.16.33 "Great tribulation" (1 0f 2)

"These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world."

Jesus gives us a clear meaning to what tribulation means. It is associated with this world to which came with a clear mandate. The world did not receive him. So tribulation has a cause. The devil knows who belongs to him and who belongs to God.Jesus exhorts those who abide iin him,Be of good cheer;I have overcome the world." Besides the word Jesus spoke so in him they shalll have peace.

Having understood this we shall look at the term 'great' tribulation' as given in this verse," For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be."(Mt.24.21). The Spirit has given us the key and it shall be same in this case. Wherever the Spirit refers to a natural feature as in the case of the river Euphrates, the judgment aspect is qualified by the adjective 'great' as in the case of 'And the fourth river is Euphrates." (Gen.2.14) Compare it with the judgment aspect,"And the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God,/ Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates./And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men."(Rev.9.13-15). This throws light on the significance of the four river heads given in Gen.2.10 The natural world is framed by the word of God so those who have the incorruptible seed of God is set in heavenly places and abound in good works. That is what Jesus says,'in me ye might have peace.' We are among the ungodly but we have passed from death to life. Instead the imposter churches and heresies give a different emphasis to tribulation which has no meaning for us.

Uh not sure exactly what you're asking. The idea was that Christ was to be trusted to provide and the striking of the rock was symbolic of Christ being struck just once for our transgressions; so to speak. Moses therefore screwed up as he did the first time in the desert allowing a rash move in his anger rather than being reserved. That cost him 40 years at first to get started with the Exodus then apparently he was informed in Numbers 20 just to speak to the rock (verse 8) so he shouldn't have struck it at all; and the result was in verse 12 where God indeed informed him that he wouldn't lead the assembly into the Promised land. Aaron was also rebuked here. I had to look at this to see it carefully.

This surely was instigated by the constant complaining; I am certain they weren't fed all that well as slaves who were brutally treated in Egypt. Don't be too sad I know it is troubling to see how much one error or transgression can cost; but Moses did go to the heavenly promised land; and later was talking with Christ at the Transfiguration. At any rate there was no one as meek as Moses at the time; but it is a humbling thought for those of us in authority in spiritual places to be patient.

I'm not sure if you had any other questions here; I was surprised to get several responses today. I am planning to get into Christ and the persecution against Him; which no doubt will take multiple postings.

Agape; and good night for now.

Who can deny it? Yet you seem to be by them to close your eyes to what also is written .

For how else can works of hay wood and stubble be understood?

The tale of the three little pugs comes to mind who built their house of straw and sticks.

" I will build my church days the Lord and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it "

All the kingdoms of this world are founded upon murder treachery bloodshed and war .Including the UK and if GB turned out any different it was only by the grace of God . But if it wants to be like world ,like the world it will become.

And every kingdom of man and empire as far back as Babylon etc and every attempt to build a " workd order'. Has and will fail .

For unless God builds the house them that build build in vain "

But do we not seek a city ? Which hath foundations who's builder and maker is God"?

A lot of what is called 'worship' . Is neither in the Spirit or according to the Word and revelation of God .

And a number of established denominations leadership has come to think that conformity with the world is of God .

And every true born child of God is going to have to make some hard decisions .

It cost God everything to give us something for nothing . It will cost everything to keep it .

    Galatians 5:19

"Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,"

    Galatians 5:20

"Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,"

    Galatians 5:21

"Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God."

The Bible says that when we get to Heaven we will get crowns. Some in different sizes. Why does God give us crowns to begin with? Why isn't the gift of Salvation enough?

    Persecution (Part 7)

My last post started referencing the New Testament. Before we get into that we need to discuss the exile and post Babylonian exile as it had a prophetic timeline of 70 years; but a longer prophetic implication in Daniel 9:24-27. This would involve a 69 week (or 69 x 7 year) period until Jesus was martyred (or cut off) which would be a parenthesis; as it were around the church age which is notably absent. Therefore; their consummation and greatest trial is in the time of "Jacob's trouble" ( Jeremiah 30:7).

God had warned ahead of time with the blessings and cursings of Deuteronomy 28-30 (or around there) of the state; even of the last days where there was a conditional sort of situation that would allow for repentance even in the last days and tribulation ( Deut. 4:30). But the diaspora was a state Israel spent the vast majority of its existence especially after the Babylonian invasion. We would see due to their idolotry a judgment where they would be sent in exile and suffer greatly; but God promised to establish them a second time after captivity ( Jeremiah 30:3; and Isaiah 11:11). They will finally realize who the true Messiah is but according to Zechariah not until near the end of the Tribulation (see Isaiah 10:20 also for them recognizing Antichrist isn't their true hope).

In this study in general; we have looked at those individuals who have caused; in a large part their own headaches and troubles and also the prophets who were challenged and ridiculed by their own people when they were faithfully preaching the truth rather than what people by and large wanted to hear. We certainly see the same thing today. Finally there is judgment where there are innocent victims caught up in events who either don't heed ore aren't aware of the warning signs to escape ahead of time. This today involves those who hate Israel and are allied for their destruction; much like what we see in Psalm 83. That is a sort of national persecution.
