Gen. ch.1.8 "Firmament"

"And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters."

Heavens designate the Word as a sound. The waters below represent generations of man graded in terms of the Son for whom God decreed the day. The firmament as the Mediator is positioned between two waters. Holiness of God,- the Word carries mercy which is new every morning. Newness is the eternal aspect of he voice of the Lord. "the God of glory thundereth: the Lord is upon many waters." (Ps.29.3) It may be so much as a primeval broth but life stirs when He thunders , and the spark evolving to create many other conditions to shield it from dying out is a mystery. But it is holy. The glory is the outward manifestation of Absolute Power working with Wisdom. The heaven declares the glory of God.

The firmament or the heaven is a sign of His handiwork. His creation works Up and Down. He created man 'a little lower than the angels.' (Ps.8.5)

1.10 "And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas:" "He gathereth the waters of the sea together as an heap: he layeth up the depth in storehouses." God's voice gathers water in heaps and the dry land he called earth. "Who layeth the beams of his chambers in the waters."(Ps.104.3; 33.7) His voice gathers fruits of his Spirit as in heaps. The Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. (Gen.1.2)

Hello "Richard H Priday" that's what's good and nice about God's Word, it's really Standing and Striking. That's probably what we all do. In sincerity without a thought of a bank. That's when everything becomes as it should. Both in a human way and spiritually. So even if someone else sees it this way, someone else doesn't have to see it that way. That's how it is. And there we can stretch ourselves, in understanding and patience.

If God wants it to be the way we think and plan. We see things differently than He does. And if we are to understand the Lord's will, we must step back and not be impulsive. Meditations- Gen.ch.1.1 'Beginning'

"In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth."

God has no beginning nor ending. In the beginning refers to the Word. (Jn.1.1-5) It is the living Word. Jesus Christ as the embodiment of it. He is the Visible image of the invisible God in terms of Being. In terms of light,'Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see.'(1 Tim.6.16). True Light is true whether in heavens or in earth or in lower parts. Word is spiritual and truth rings true when sounded; as truth the sign also is true.

"Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth."(Jn.17.17)

In short: the beginning in heaven is a sound; in the earth he was the man; in eternity he is the true light-light of the Lamb. With Jesus Christ came truth. "but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ./No man hath seen God at any time, the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him."

(2 Peter Part 11):

2 Peter 1:15 - Moreover I will endeavour that ye may be able after my decease to have these things always in remembrance.

Moreover I will endeavor that you may be able after my decease, and that's the word Exodus in the Greek (EXODON). Interesting! Decease is not the word death. It's the word Exodus, as in the book of Exodus.

After I exit out of here that you may be able to have these things always in remembrance. So, remembrance is for people who already know. The purpose of remembrance is to stir people up, especially the truth and the knowledge that they already know, that's just lying there without life, but it brings it back to life.

2 Peter 1:16 - For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.

For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, and the word fables is the word MUTHOS, where we get our word myths from. When we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty.

It's interesting, and I find it kind of a parallel with a lot of things that happen in our day, but back in the early church days, people really wouldn't have anything to say from scripture or from their personal experience with Christ.

But some groups would start, and they would just give testimonies all night about a person's personal mystical experiences of how they experienced Jesus, much like people have today about Mary, how Mary appeared to them, or whatever. These are cunningly devised fables, myths, stories.

So, he says we're not like the story tellers. We're actually eyewitnesses. We were there!

(2 Peter Part 10):

2 Peter 1:11 - For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Verse 11 is Peter's summary statement in capsule form of the climax to this last phase or participation in the entrance to heaven. The word "so" is a very important word. It's an adverb that means in this way. For in this way, an entrance shall be supplied to you.

I mentioned in Verse 5 that the word add and the word ministered are the same word. It's the word supply. They are catch words. Your relationship with the Lord, make it priority in your life, and the Lord is going to supply to you something.

But he says for in this way, whichever way you are, if you are participating in the growth process, and you are abounding and increasing, you will enter into heaven with an abundance. Whereas if you lack these things, where the change and transformation of this growth process is not a priority to you, and you're saved, you'll enter into heaven, you'll have the same Spiritual body everybody else has, but there will be a difference.

Just a quick statement here before I move on because it's something that's not talked about today. I honestly believe that those in the positions of leadership and ministry are actually doing people harm by thinking that God is going to reward us for our growth horizontally.

The thought seems to be that the more people we bring in, the more buildings we build, the bigger our work is, and the more successful it is, we're going to get a reward in heaven, without realizing that we enter into heaven with the growth transformation that takes place in our life here on the earth.

This means there's going to be some believers who enter into heaven with the foundation, which is Jesus Christ, and a chimney. That's it! Because Paul's detail is that we as believers, we're going to pass through the fire, not the fire of hell, but God is going to test the development work of each person.

(2 Peter Part 9):

2 Peter 1:9 - But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.

But he that lacks these things is blind, and cannot see afar off.

Literal translation: This person is blind, being myopic. He doesn't mean completely blind. He means near-sighted. And has forgotten that he was purged from his old sins. In other words, he can only see himself now. The time that he was saved and forgiven for his sins was some time ago, and he's forgotten what God saved him from, and what God wants to save him to. He's forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.

There are two different kinds of Christians. There's one that's involved in the growth process, and one who's not. And the only reason they are not because they have forgotten who they were. You can see that in a lot of people in their approach to being with the Lord after this life. "I my sinful self, I have been forgiven for my sins because of what Jesus did for me on the cross. And I'm going to heaven because I believe in Him." That's it! There's no awareness of a need for change.

2 Peter 1:10 - Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:

Peter says wherefore rather, brethren, a term of affection. He says give diligence, and here's the word diligence again, top priority. Make it a top priority to make your calling and election sure, literally established:

Your calling and election, if you have come to know and participate with the divine nature of God, solidify and establish your relationship with Him, grow strong in that relationship with Him. For if you do these things, and the word do is literally the word doing, practicing. For if you are continually doing these things, you shall never fall:

The reason why it says never is because there's a Double Negative there. If you are doing these things, you will never fall.

(2 Peter Part 8):

2 Peter 1:8 - For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

He says for if these things exist in you, and are abounding. The word be, and the word abound are Participles. It shows continuous action. If these stages of growth are existing in you, and they are increasing, they make you that you shall be neither barren, that is, idle, nor unfruitful in the full knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

You're going to know Him. But when it says you will not be idle, nor unfruitful, and I don't know if you've ever been in that time in your Christian Walk where you felt like nothing's happening, I'm not going anywhere, like you're just idle, standing around and it doesn't seem there's much fruit of God's Spirit.

Well, Peter says if you're going through these growth processes, and you're abounding in them, you won't be idle. You won't be unfruitful because that will be the fruit that God's producing, the changes and the growth.

I would say that my point is that scripture often shows different reactions by God at different times. In this case the prophet was someone that was targeted after frustration that God revealed to him where the enemy was. There were other times when; for instance the prophet cast down fire from heaven to destroy those mocking him. There was also some differentiation from different factions attacking as opposed to the entire army; and still other differences as to whether they were nations God determined were to be destroyed on their initial conquest and those such as Egypt who were their brothers in a sense and they were to act differently.

I appreciate the commentary; I hear regularly from Gigi and occasionally from others. I really am looking for an impartial analysis of my writings which I have had an inordinate amount of time up until now to place here. I am not sure how much longer that opportunity will be if I get extra work or move back work full time at my former job in Pittsburgh. That involves issues with home ownership and concerns about my Dad now placed in Memory Care which I won't burden you with any further.

Many times I don't put as much time on a subject preparing as I should and I spent a couple years doing rapid fire posts since I had a lot of things I wanted to share with an audience related to Predestination and prophecy in particular; and then bolstered my own knowledge of the Gospels by doing daily posts. I am looking for input as I could go into further detail or not; I try not to be redundant if I have posted something about the same (but I suppose it is rather egotistical thinking something a couple years back will be recognized as such).

Reading scriptures is what I am trying to emphasize here; without undo embellishments. Some like to emphasize rather mystical approaches it seems to connecting verses; gematria and other such things. That confuses me. There are always a few with better detailed commentaries.

Replacement theology is the belief that the Church replaces the nation of Israel since the Jews rejected Jesus as their Savior and Messiah. In this belief, one says that God does not consider the Jews as His people any longer.

Many people believe in Fulfillment Theology, which is belief that Jesus is the True Israel promised and all of the promises of God are fulfilled in Jesus and by our union with him, those in Him. Also included in this belief is that God has only one people and these are all people from all time who are elected by God before the foundation of the world and who were drawn to God, given faith to believe His revelation of Himself. Therefore, the people of God is a continuum of believers beginning with Adam up until this time whether Gentile (as Abraham was) or Israelite (as are the Jews). This theology believes that only the believing remnant of the Jews (Israel) are truly Israel as Paul says in Romans 9, and that the ones who believed on Jesus from his advent on are included in the people of God called by God according to His good pleasure and eternal purpose (Read Eph.1) Both Jews and Gentiles who believe are heirs of the promise to Abraham and Abraham's offspring ( Gal. 3), Those who adhere to this theology do not believe that ethnic descendants of Abraham are necessarily counted as His people, rather that this designation is and always has been for those who have faith as Abraham. Therefore, those who are ethnic Jews today are not God's people as a whole, but individually they may become a member of God's people through faith in Christ, same as the Gentiles ( Rom. 11)

Dispensationalism teaches that ethnic Israel continue to be God's people whether they have faith in God or not. It also teaches that Christian believers are a second people of God separate from those who are ethnic Jews.

I believe that Fulfillment Theology aligns with Scripture far better than the other two mentioned here.

Amen. God's people worship God because He is worthy of praise and worship. They offer up the sacrifice of praise. According to God's word, Biblical preaching and teaching is vital for the church, as is corporate prayer and corporate worship, and as is exhortation, accountability, discipline, service, outreach, and giving.

That is a funny story!

Our deck should be done by the end of this week (hoping) Eric (our contractor) is leaving next weekend for a vacation. He will complete the roof when he returns.

Steve is getting tired of the process of remodeling since it has gone on since 12/24. I, on the other hand, love the process and don't mind the mess because I can see the end project and how we will enjoy it. Two people with two different perspectives on the same circumstances! Helps me to keep this in mind in most situations. My patience is much more developed than Steve's. But when it comes to financial planning, saving, etc. he shines. After 45 years we are still learning more about each other and also gaining deeper understanding of one another. Think of how it will be in the life to come when it comes to us learning and gaining understanding about God and His amazing, infinite and perfect nature!

In this life, we know partly and dimly, as Paul says, but in the life to come, we will be far less fettered by our human nature due to it being glorified.

Rightly dividing the truth is to understand, interpret, apply its teachings correctly which some methods I use are reading bible, praying, meditating on God's word and actions.

Hello, that gave me a little thought. It says that we should love our enemies, and the contrast this gives in what you write is fantastic. Imagine if everyone in the whole world could see this! If we give bread and water to our enemies, will they leave us in peace? Then I think earthly but also what we fight with daily against the powers and authorities. It can be difficult and offer itself in a warlike situation. But it can turn an entire "nation". It seems to.

Let me share something I find hilarious.

I come from a construction family,

My grandfather was a builder in the 1940's and his sons worked for him and nearly every contractor or subcontractors got their work from him.

When he passed away the business was passed down to two of his sons, "my dad and his older brother"

Me and my brothers and cousins worked for them.

In the late 80's I moved to Georgia and started up a small construction business and eventuality a small trucking business.

I retired the construction business three years ago, however I kept some of my tools so I can do projects around the house.

After retiring it and without taking a breaks I started building a nice size deck on the back of my house. BY MY SELF! (Three years ago)

Now I am adding to it, BY MY SELF! and have been working on it for the last 10 months.

When I was younger I could build this by my self in two weeks.

I told my wife last week when I am done I am selling ALL my tools and she can have my work shop and store all of her craft and miscellaneous stuff.

She's already selling my tools.

God's blessings in his Son do not come on man alone but his own world. It is not on churches or nations but on man. But blessing is conditional,"if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day," If thou shalt' must be in faith so the voice of the Lord reverberates through entire heart, 'to observr and to do' with all your heart.

'This day ' is not your calendar day but the day decreed for the Son. The number Seven set the authority of the Law bless you in his Son. It is an everlasting Covenant. Compare blessing of the man in his Son, Dominion of man is established in vv.28-30.

1.31 "And the evening and the morning were the sixth day."

God is a Spirit. It moves so it has a direction. "The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth."(Jn.3.8) He stretches heaven like a curtain. It implies an invisible curtain where creation time moves in His will(Ps.104.2) The Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

What do we conclude from these two directions? Time works according to His will. 'From top to bottom'.The vail of the temple is a metaphor for the Up and down-Ascension or Advent of the Lord shall be thus. (Mt.27.51) There is no week in God's holy calendar. It is day decreed for the Son and God's will for man is to treat day as with the Son. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. Give us this day our daily bread. The Spirit sets evening as starting point where intersection of God with man begins. Likewise we we are given the other end, which is a morning. Law of the Spirit gives seven days.

Sabbath begins with the day. We touch the hem of the Lord in faith, it is like being born of water and the spirit, the virtue goes out of him, and he knows it and we have entered in the rest of God already. The virtue is holiness of God. ( Lk. 8.46) It never diminishes but works as a blessing to man. It is what the seven days in Gen.1 as a Covenant is intended to do.

The Covenant is eternal because the Law of the Spirit is eternal.

I hope to read a chapter a day and it there is something worthwhile tp set down here I shall;

1.14 Llghts in the firmament of the heaven

Signs:

Jesus Christ as a sign. The firmament declares the handiwork of God. (Ps.19.1)

What is the work of God? That one should believe in the one He sent. Jn 5.28-29. His creation is perfect. He set it in the heart of man. "He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end."Faith is the key. (Eccle.3.11) Soul as a sign for Christ.

"And for seasons, and for days, and years." Seasons is distinct from time.

Dan.7.12 'yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time.'. the four beasts representing world empires await judgment. Seasons refer to the saints of the most high," But the saints of the most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever."(v.11) Seasons refer to the time they shall be collected by angels.Mt.24.27 leaving time for bringing a remnant of the nation of Israel, the leftbehind church. Sealing the 12 tribes of Israel it is called. Rev.7.4-8 "And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel." the key to understand is the number 144,000. It is the gospel of God and of Christ working together. The left behind church shall rally around their brethren and step into the breach as Seth did. Jesus Christ the intercessor. This remnant saved by faith. What is left is mixed multitude of Israel and imposter church in the outer darkness.

1.20 "and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven." mid air, open valley "And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven," Rev.19.17 Ezek.37.2

And the poor and the rich meet together in death, there must be some reason for it. It is the proper duty of a thinking man. "The rich and poor meet together: the LORD is the maker of them all." (Prov.22.2)

Pt. 2

Mom and Dad are struggling to keep from rescuing her after her crying for just a short time. But for me, she does get herself to sleep within 15 minutes or so. She will learn to do this if we are consistent.) So, I pray for the Lord to strengthen Rosie's parents for the task of winning the battle of the will with her when it is necessary to do so. It is not about winning, but about training her in what is best for her. I have done this repeatedly many years ago, but this is their first time. She puts up a good fight, but she is safe and in good hands with all of us.

Jesse, there are so many eras in our lives that need to be approached on their own with the power, grace, and guidance of the Spirit. May we always have ears to hear Him and eyes that see things from a righteous spiritual perspective. You and your wife are just 3 years younger than we are but most likely you are finding a need to reassess things in your life at this juncture as we are. It is good to have others in Christ who are facing similar life passages. We can build each other up and your postings on Peter are doing just that.

I hope that all your repairs get done before the summer ends. It is good to know that you have a lovely view from your deck. We look at our back neighbor's home, but we have planted trees along the fenceline (many years ago) that are now very tall to shield the view for us and for her. WE are doing what we can to mitigate the need for privacy between us. She is a good neighbor and was here before we moved in 30 years ago. She lost her husband 6 years ago to an unexpected early death and is now retired. Her son is going to law school and come to visit at times but she is mostly by herself now. We do talk now and then and don't bother one another. This I am thankful for considering the problems we face with our other neighbor. We are still negotiating with him. I am hopeful that we will come to an agreement soon that will end this problem. Please pray for us.

These epistles of Peter are some of my favorites because of how practical they are in advising us all in how important it is to grow up in Christ, especially to prepare us for times where we may face troubles and trials if we are now at peace as well as to encourage those who are being persecuted now. I am reminded how I need to be grateful for the peaceful life I have right now and to yield to the work of the Spirit as He prepares and equips me for any hardships I may face in the remaining time I have to live this life. Our world is changing so rapidly and in the U.S. things can swing so far back and forth between administration that we can be tossed to and fro if we are not grounded in Christ in whatever circumstance we find ourselves facing each day or down the road from now.

Being almost 70 adjust my perspective, knowing, Lord willing, I may have 20 more years to live. So I must decide how I want to live out these years, not necessarily in comfort and ease because I am not in control of that, but living now in the blessing of God in retirement. I want to live a life worthy of the calling of God on my life, but that calling now is much different than it was 10-20-30-or 40 years ago.

I can tell that I am getting more weakened physically than even when I turned 60, but I am still able to do most every task set before me each day. Spending time each day with Rosie, our granddaughter, is such a blessing, but also I know that I am an influence in her life that is very important, so I want to do well for her sake and be a good example of care-giving for my son and daughter-in-law. Most grandparents do not have this opportunity on a daily basis, so I am well aware of how God has gifted me with this joy. (Right now I am hearing her cry because she is being put to bed in her crib instead of having Mom lay with her until she sleeps in their bed. It is time for her to learn this and it is easier for me to put her down and leave her to get herself to sleep. Pt. 2
