Davie Miller, regarding Revelation 20:14. I think you are accurate when you say, you die and you cease to exist, it's as though you never existed. God is a Holy, Just Merciful God. After the judgement, God will bring forward the second death, which is eternal.

Either way.Of coarse there are slight changes here and there, in the Scriptures, as it is interpreted. As you know it is still the living Word of God. I myself was lead to Jesus Christ from some new "translation" of the Holy Bible. It still lead me to the Lord who is the way the, the truth, and the life.

I think judging can be perceived two ways. One is to judge someone and think "that's it, no hope for him" and curse them. The other is to judge what is right from wrong, truth from lies, and try to help others by telling them their faults. Now of coarse don't be a hypocrite and tell someone not to do something you also do. Of coarse the one Judge over all is Jesus Christ and we are all to be judged, by what we have done, in the end. Though we who follow Jesus Christ are the body of Christ. As He uses us as He pleases to do His Will.

About this life. A simple view is that this life is God's field and it is a place for testing of hearts and souls. Given in many parables by the Lord. The entire reason why God made us to live here, and whatnot, only God can answer. As it is probably not to be known while we are here. It is God's Will that shall be done not ours.

Here are some verses for you, about "judging" others. Not condemning others. To help them if able, not to curse them. Are we not to know, or judge, even a false prophet by their fruits? A tree is known by it's fruit.

Absolutely not. That has nothing at all to do with what I said. Being persecuted and put out of the churches for your righteousness sake. In other words your truth has threatened the authorities of the churches and you are asked to leave. There is indeed a scripture that says that, I have already included in my book in another chapter, but it is a long book and it is hard to locate.

Sometimes people conflate the truth with their own interpretation of the truth as well as their emotions as a result of their interpretations. These are three different things.

Hello Denise. In the 'ideal' situation, where both husband & wife are mature & responsible people, hold joint financial accounts, are transparent in their financial dealings, & as a first course of action, given to discuss such matters & their possible ramifications to remaining resources, I agree, that they both should discuss it & make a joint agreed decision on such a large expense.

Quite often though, one spouse may not be quite 'savvy' in financial matters & would entrust that responsibility to the other spouse, which could work out well. And I suppose, when you write, 'a substantial amount of money', that could be in reference to the money you already have available, whether a large or small amount. If your husband is refusing to discuss this matter with you, is he prone to making other decisions without your knowledge or involvement? Are his financial decisions leaving you & your family in hardship? You may then need to get other help if he is agreeable & prepared to go that route. I know of couples who have been forced to hold separate secret bank accounts, simply to preserve funds so that the other spouse can't get access to them & destroy their livelihood. But this hopefully, is not your situation.

I always discuss all important, out of the ordinary, financial matters with my wife - I believe that is the correct, prudent & loving way to deal with it & all matters that require mutual consideration & consent.

In my second paragraph, I should have said "However, in those silent years & beyond..."; because the period given to the writing of the apocryphal books extended beyond what we consider the silent years between the Testaments. Apologies.

I believe that Matthew Henry was indicating that of the various discourses/sermons that are recorded in Acts, each of those messages is attributed to a particular individual & the message given according to the "occasion" that the speaker found himself in.

For example, Acts 2:14-36: the Apostle Peter is the preacher & his message was given to those who had heard what had happened at Pentecost & who wondered how these men could speak in their languages. Peter used that opportunity with all the Jews & others coming together in amazement at this news, to share God's Word to them & the Gospel.

Another example: Acts 22:1-21: the Apostle Paul is speaking to the chief captain of the guard & the people who gathered at Paul's arrest. His message was his testimony of his salvation & his calling. And as you know, there are many such examples of particular named speakers, their messages & the occasion of their proclamation.

First to begin, I am not going to be judge no man, and no man is going to judge me. And also, life is what it is, and not what we or you think it is! Above all, what is truth?

Consider Galatians 6:1 When ministering.

Galatians 6:1. Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.

Galatians 6:8-9. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

2 Timothy 4:2. Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

Hi Nehemiah, the Bible as we have it, doesn't speak of those silent years between the Testaments. We would have to look at history to see what took place at that time, & specifically about the Medo-Persian & Roman Empires and their influence in the world, especially in Palestine. It would be best, if you're interested in that history, to read about it rather than my sharing it here in precis form. However, during those silent years, from between 200 BC & 400 AD, several writings appeared what we now refer to as the Apocryphal Books. They received a mixed reception, some believing that they were vital information to be included with the rest of Scripture, to others believing that under various tests, those writings proved to be uninspired & contained inaccuracies. So they were not included in the Canon of Scripture we have now in the KJV.

When you read of the plight of the Jews during those silent years & what they suffered under the hands of those Empires, they too must have wondered, 'why was God keeping quiet & not dealing with the enemy, to bring His promised Saviour to us to defeat them'. But God's Word says, "But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, to redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons." Galatians 4:4,5. At the appointed time, God did move - not for a physical salvation from the human enemy, but a spiritual salvation from the unseen wicked enemy of our souls. God was no more silent. But now after 2000 years, the same question is asked by some, "where is God in our sufferings?" "When will He come to remove us?" When the fulness of (God's) time is come, Jesus WILL come again.

This passage is much more than ironic but a perfect typology of the 2nd Chapter of Acts. None were asking for things but their soul purpose was to glorify God. Though it is not wrong to pray for healing, financial blessings, and other needs, when we focus on Glorifying God from the beginning, before going into the mode of asking, we are inviting the presence of God first and foremost. Let's stop being selfish with what we want and do what God wants, the praise and worship that He, and He alone is due. You will then find that God is more than willing to satisfy your needs.

Enter His courts with prayer requests? No, "Enter his courts with Praise and Thanksgiving," and "In all things give thanks for this is the will of God concerning you." "If I be lifted up, I will draw all men unto me." This is the apex of drawing the presence of God where we may abide in. It becomes crucial for revival.

Sorry we missed your original request for help, I second everything Adam has said, I would like to add God is not restricted by time, he see the ending and the beginning like a picture in front of him, we can't surprise God and the good thing about that is we can't disappoint him. He sent his son while we were yet in our sins,

God deal with us as sons, We may not know what God is doing behind the scenes but we Know God is Love and rich in mercy and he always deal with us in his attributes. I pray that it's someone here that can offer comfort and counsel.
