Matthew 25:46 - Isn't eternal life where we have Christ's righteousness permanently and no longer live as mortal? How can these still live as mortals thru the Millennial reign if they have entered eternal life.

The scenario you present falls into that 'grey' area of Christian living according to the Word. The Bible doesn't specifically speak about it, yet our consciences & good sense require us to examine that 'platonic' relationship. It could also apply to younger people who determine that no physical act would take place during their residence together in the same house or even the same bed.

But is it just a situation of clean living before God, or does this apply before others? Or, how do other people (both believers & unbelievers) perceive this life choice? Is it then a case of 'who cares what people think as long as I'm living correctly before God?'

1 Thessalonians 5:32 tells us to "Abstain from all appearance of evil." Even though within the house, nothing is 'out of order', but can that relationship be misconstrued as inconsistent with godly living? Is our testimony shaken or destroyed because of it? Is it a big issue to have that love that is shared with each other ratified by a simple Registry Wedding, so no one is left in doubt & there be no 'behind the back small talk' against you? Though marrying at that age might bring on other comments of which one should have no concern.

So this lifestyle really comes down to a personal decision as a Christian, but where all the issues are carefully considered & no opportunity for sin, or the appearance of it, exists before God & man. Others here might have other views to share on this.

Jesus gave his life , to make a way for us to rise above sin, to walk in newness of life , without hypocrisy , without Guile, seeking the provision of God... in all things. There must be a death that takes place and that is the death of the old man, this death is spiritual not natural although we know that we must put off this tabernacle ,for it is nothing but dust, and to dust it shall return, we must put off the old wine skin, we must mortify the Deeds of this flesh ,

Everything he did he did in accordance with and by his fathers will... He even had to submit to his Natural Parents to fulfill all righteousness . He had to be baptized By John to fulfill all righteousness. this was part of the pattern .

Well, Mark 16:15-20, also tells us that those who "speak with new tongues" are also those enabled by the Spirit to cast out devils, take hold of poisonous snakes, drink poisonous substances, & heal the sick. I wonder whether all who have the Gift of speaking in other tongues, can do the other things mentioned in those verses, or does 1 Corinthians 12:28-31 have some bearing on this matter?

I know that the 'Tongues' issue has severely divided believers, but we all need to take a fresh & good look at the Scriptures on this issue & not depend on what we're taught from the pulpit.

The Greek word (trophe) applies to 'food or nourishment', so I don't see that it was only meat that the disciples went to purchase. It could have been a combination of meat & vegetables, or even that which was already prepared. And there is nothing in the New Testament to suggest that Jesus was a vegetarian or a non-vegetarian. I believe that He enjoyed all food, any food that He was able to eat, but in Truth, His "meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work." ( John 4:34), implying the much lower priority He placed on food & having a full stomach.

The same Greek word, troph, is used 15 times in the KJV: 13 times the King James translators used the word "meat" and 2 times the word "food" in Act 14:17 and Jas 2:15.

Yes, Jesus ate meat, because He celebrated Passover on many occasions with His disciples, which involves killing and eating the Passover lamb.

The truth is that every day, many times a day, we sin. This is why when Jesus was washing the feet of His disciples...

Peter and the other disciples except Judas were all born again (washed all over) but because in our daily walk we sin and need to confess our sins (wash our feet), thus Jesus replied "He that is washed needeth not save to wash his feet, but is clean every whit: and ye are clean"

Ezekiel 27 & 28 describes the King of Tyre as making himself a "god" and was called a "cherub" and referenced "Eden, the garden of God" This Cherub was "perfect" in beauty, faultless in his ways from creation onward until unrighteousness was found in him. Ez 27:3, 28:12,15

Isaiah 42:12 Reference the God of Adam, Abraham, Moses, Jacob, Joseph, David, Josiah, Ezekiel, John the Baptist, Jesus, the Apostles, etc. This Almighty God of Israel is the creator of all living things. In Psalms 83:18 he is called Jehovah God.

If you look in one of the earliest King James Bible of 1611 you'll see that name. Most modern translations have removed that name and substituted it with Lord claiming since the original pronunciation was lost it makes sense to remove it as if the Almighty doesn't exist. Also the divine name Jehovah or Adhonai or Elohim in some translation appears in the Tetragrammaton close to 7000 times so removing the name removes the knowledge and understanding of the Almighty and creates confusion. He just wasn't a tribal God in Isaiah 54:5 it says "....He will be called the God of the whole earth." Psalm 124:8 Jehovah is called the maker of heaven and earth.

Jesus who was a Jew also recognized the God of Israel as being Jehovah or Yahweh. Remember the Jewish clergy during the time of Jesus wanted to bring charges against Jesus in order to put him to death for blashemy so any of worship or acknowledgement he gave to any other god would have given them this opportunity. Plus Genesis 17:1, Isaiah 45:18, Psalm 83:18 refers to Jehovah God being one God. Deuteronomy 6:4,5 also call Jehovah one Jehovah. This is in harmony with Mark 12:29, Romans 3:29-30, 1 Corinthians 8:6, Ephesians 4:4-6, 1 Timothy 2:5 all these scriptures refer to one God.

For Jesus to believe in multiple gods or a triune god would be paramount to apostasy for a Jew and thus grounds for death. Also Roman Zeus was a triune god and existed during this time.

Gen 9:25 puts the curse on Canaan, Ham's Son. Thus Canaan descendants the "Canaanites" which settled in Canaan were the ones cursed by Noah. In fact when the Israelites moved into the promise land they were to remove the Canaanites due to their sexual depravity. This idea of Ham being "cursed" was one of the main reasons slavery was accepted by most Christian religions for centuries and another example of how some have used the Bible to oppressed various races down to this day.

Gen 9:24 does say Noah cursed his youngest son which would be Ham however lets reason on that statement. Is it unusual for a grandparent to consider his grandson as his son? An extension of his loins?

Gen 48:5,6 Records Jacob adopting Joseph's two sons Epharim and Manasseh saying they will become mine, but children after them will be yours...

Even Adam was called a son of God since it was through him that he came into existence. Luke 3:38

Even today a father or mother can claim their son-in-law as their son or their daughter-in-law as their daughter.

The ten commandments condemn everyone, you included. Deciding not to do

one or any of the sins does not negate "all have sinned and fallen short of the

glory of God" Romans 3:23 Salvation is a work through the sinless life of the

only begotten Son of God, dying the death sinners deserve, whereby God is

then Sovereign in his graciousness to impute righteousness to those who

trust they are saved by his grace alone. You have no power to forgive

yourself of your sin. To be minded otherwise is a serious affront to God.

Although the Holy Ghost was given by a holy and loving god, its primary purpose is to indue power to further ones ability to witness and proclaim the redemptive offer of Christ. (day of Pentecost) It also allows the receiver to pray in a way you could not prior to being filled. This gift is for all who desire and seek it. Paul said in acts he spoke in tongues more than any of the believers. But he was speaking of his own prayer time with god. The people were confused of it's use in the church. If a believer does not desire a closer relationship, and stronger ability to be his witness, they should forgo asking him for this precious and powerful gift. Although it is for all who ask, all will not ask.

When Isaiah wrote Isaiah and Moses wrote Genesis and Paul wrote Philemon, there were no Bible verses. There were no chapters. These were added much later and help us to reference and find are way around the Bible. But chapter and verse references also hinder many people by causing them to think that just one verse is all you need to consider when trying to understand the Bible. A very wise once gave me very good advice that I'll share with you:

NEVER READ A BIBLE VERSE!

Read the verses BEFORE and the verses AFTER.

Read the entire CHAPTER.

Sometimes you need to read even more.

Sometimes another translation.

Sometimes a commentary.

In this instance, knowing some history is important. Isaiah is a prophet warning the Northern 10 tribes called Israel that unless they turned back to God, the Assyrians would first tax them and eventually scatter them throughout the nations, but that eventually God would bring them back to The Promised Land.

"Thine heart shall meditate terror. Where is the scribe? where is the receiver? where is he that counted the towers?" Isa 33:18 (KJVA)

Isaiah is warning them that one day they will think back to the time when the Assyrians terrorized them in many ways. But God, in many places in the writings of the prophets, promises to bring them back to The Land of Promise.

So as New Testament believers, we can take great comfort that our Faithful God fulfills ALL his promises. He WILL bring Israel back. In fact, after 2600 years from the Babylonian Captivity, starting in 606 BC, Israel again became a sovereign nation IN 1948. There are still Jews scattered around the world and most still do nit believe that Jesus is their Messiah, but God has promised that He will bring them back ti The Land and trun their hearts toward God. It has begun!

Being perfect or attaining to perfection is the process of Growing up into Jesus in all things... its the process of Maturing in the spirit ,bringing anything that is of the spirit of man under subjection. Except ye are Born again of the spirit , IE receiving the baptism of the HolyGhost it is impossible to overcome the lusts of the flesh . It is God who is to will and to do of his good pleasure... Not by might Nor by power but by His spirit sayeth the lord.. There shall no flesh be glorified in the presence of he lord.

Just to reply on your last sentence. I cannot say anything about people preaching the wrong context which I'm sure there are some that do. Only being able to speak on my own behalf. I believe speaking in different tongues is a gift from the Holy Spirit. Jesus does not say that every single believer, who receives the Holy Spirit, should "speak in tongues". Saying "these signs shall follow them that believe". It is not written that Jesus Christ ever spoke in tongues.

As I have no doubt that I have been blessed by the Lord to have received the Holy Ghost. As I may have some things, or gifts from the Lord, given to me that people who can speak in tongues don't have. Not that any of us in Christ are more important than the other. We are all One. 1 Corinthians 12 is a good chapter by Paul speaking of spiritual gifts and the body of Christ. 1 Corinthians 14:19 states how it is better for people to hear and understand your words than to speak in an unknown tongue to them.

As I am not taking anything away from people who have been blessed with the gift of speaking in tongues. I myself have no interest in this gift and have met other brothers in Christ who very much wanted this gift. They prayed earnestly for it and received it. God Bless them.

There are is so much in the bible for truth and righteousness in the scriptures but remember at this point in Matthew we are still in the Old Testament, the Lord hadn't gone to the cross. He is referring to the jews who are still living under the law and the jews of today are still trying to live by that law, whereas our only hope is the Lord Jesus Christ, we are saved by the blood He shed on the cross, not by our own works.

And as far as eternal security goes just go to Ephesians 1:13 which says "...we are saved by that Holy Spirit of promise". We are part of Christ's body those of us who are born again. Our soul and spirit have been redeemed but our sinful flesh hasn't and we are still waiting for the redemption of the purchased possession. Our works cannot save us.

The only mention of "jurisdiction" is in Luke 23:7 & applied to Herod's jurisdiction. Pontius Pilate was the Roman procurator assigned by the Roman government. Whereas Herod Antipas, was not of Roman birth, but from a mixed parentage of Idumean & Arabian. He was therefore assigned by Rome as King (the Tetrarch) over Galilee & Perea, therefore Pilate was more than willing to pass Jesus onto Herod, as Pilate knew nothing of or cared little about Jewish matters & arguments. So, when we read of Herod's jurisdiction, it means that Jesus was assigned to Herod, as Herod had control over that part of Roman territory in which Jesus was born & lived.

Yes, I believe that the same Gift of other Tongues that was given at Pentecost, or in Acts 10:45,46, is the same that Paul speaks about in 1 Corinthians chapters 13 & 14. There was no difference: from the same Spirit & for the same purpose, to testify of the Spirit's entrance & for the worship to God, whether in Church or in private.

1 Corinthians 13:1: "Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal." I can't speak about the Spirit giving an 'angelic' language to speak. What Paul was referring to in this verse, was to share the message of the superiority of Love over all Gifts of the Spirit. Even if he could speak in both human & angelic language, if love was missing in his life & ministry, then all that 'language' would be as noise; it would be useful, but love was the under girding principle in everything for the believer. And he takes that thought further in verse 2, 'if he had knowledge of everything or even mountain-moving faith' (which he didn't claim to have), if love was missing, then even in these things, he would be as "nothing" in God's Eyes. So, I don't understand that Paul was speaking of a heavenly language as a Gift, but was showing a comparison of the low worth of all Gifts (including Tongues), in comparison to the chief Gift of Love.

I see that the "meek inheriting the Earth", is the Lord describing the type of spirit & attitude of a 'meek' person towards God & man. The 'meek' person in himself cannot inherit the Earth, nor can he be acceptable to God without the intervention of the Cross in his life. Yet, that 'meek' disposition must be evident in all of God's children, as one so endued by the Holy Spirit.

I think the most pertinent portion of Scripture on this matter, is found in 2 Corinthians 5:17-20. Others are: Colossians 1:20-22; Romans 5:10.

I see that you understand its meaning, by what you've written. And that is, through the offering up & sacrifice of His Son, God no longer charges us with our past sins, but has accepted us in through the merits of Christ alone. And the enmity that existed between us, is now gone, having been taken away, thereby bringing our hearts & spirits into a real & vital relationship with the Father. So we can joyfully say, that we have been reconciled to God through His Son, having those sins that condemned us, taken away so that God may now accept us by the peace that the Cross brings to both God & man. So one of the fruits of the Gospel, would be the reconciling of the sinner to a Holy God.
