I agree ,so many people have told me about their 'mystical experiences ' and when i ask them about where they were or what they were doing more often than not they will say something like ' i had just woke up ' or 'i was just drifting off to sleep when ...' i would never dare to disparrage any ones genuine belief in their personal revelations , i believe God does speak to us ,i also believe that when He does He does not leave us with even the tinniest bit of doubt that it is Him speaking .

Yes, amen. I woke up this morning early with this thought on my mind concerning this passage of scripture. Jesus was also indicating that when they (The world) commit sin during good times, what will they do when things are not so good. For Jesus, that moment was quickly passing as He went to the cross. He knew shortly He would be with His Father and there was trouble ahead for the Jews. He knew it would get much worse for all of them.

One of the meanings of His name, Jesus, is 'God Saves'.... But saves us, individually, from what? For those heretics who believe solely in the written word, even they must find the Gospel of Matthew convincing in Christ's references to his second coming and the inevitable division. Man knows the truth but cannot always persevere. Calvin was wrong, we are free to choose the truth to our dying breath as did the good thief on the cross. I think it fair to perfection to believe where ever He goes there is The Kingdom of God.

If you are a blood bought believer, and keep choosing to sin then you will not be allowed into the Kingdom of Heaven. You are not following His Word.

I think she was referring to the seal on the servants of God, mentioned in Revelation 7:3. She was asking what the difference between that seal and the "mark of the beast" was.

How true , what does it mean to receive the holy ghost ? Is it actually a "GHOST" that comes on you? Faith, an activity that takes place in the heart, that cannot be understood is when Jesus comes into your heart, you become a changed person, the "old man " is no longer who we were! There is thought, that as long as one has this knowledge, this is all one needs to be saved! This thinking is what Jesus spoke against and about. He said, knowing the history is not enough! Just because you are of the seed, does not give you salvation! So ,one could say old things are passed away and all things are new! That in fact these things are the work of the holy spirit!

believe in you. That's rational thinking, but it is the will of the flesh and

not salvation. So now you profess two beginnings with God, both pre-Jesus.

Yes I do and so do others on this site. It is no accident that you are here

and talking about salvation. Salvation is traditional only because it is the

same for everyone, only through trust in the death of Jesus for your sins.

You can't earn it and nobody deserves it. When I said you don't mention his

love for you, that is evident in that you "fear" judgement. You seem to

prefer a "blind faith" that somehow things will just work out for you.

God and his plan for salvation is understandable and that's what you are

being pointed to by myself and others on this site.

On the top of the opening page of this site is a menu selection called

more. On that page is a selection called "How to become a Christian".

There salvation is spelled out for you or anyone to understand.

I do agree Charles that Tongues was a sign-Gift first for the Jews, so that they might be witnesses to the Power & Presence of God in a way that they've never seen before, but it seems clear that this Gift was never taken away & the early Church still had it & practised it, some for the edification of the Church, others who misused it (1 Corinthians chapter 14). The problem arises, whether the practise of that Gift today is the real deal & the insistence by some that it is the primary proof of the baptism by the Spirit.

The "we" and "they" have to talk things through. Never forget Christ himself is the spiritual head of any church, and he dwells in the heart and head of every believer. Amos 3:3 Can two walk together, except they be agreed?

Adam and Eve were not Israelites, and the Bible is written about Almighty and Everlasting God. The history of all people of this world is a topic, as are matters like law, love of God, love of neighbors, government, nature, etc..

I had no part in the preparation of this site, however, I want to try and answer your question from an unbiased stance.

First of all I do not see your perspective of "in light of" to have any bearing on the choice of passages used, rather, the two verses you bring to the question differ in their perspective. While both are excellent choices for someone who knows little or nothing of the Bible, the passage in Acts meets the "response" portion of the section header more clearly. About the only difference I can see is the understanding of the Lord's resurrection being important to the entire thought of what a person is to believe/trust about Jesus, as stated in 1Corinthians. Now that you mention the plan, I see it as regretful that it is slightly hidden in the index of the site, but I do understand that the site is all about the KJV and not the plan of salvation in particular. I have seen that the discussion section of the site is not without discussion about what salvation is and is not.

Adam ,you are resonably good at twisting peoples words in an agressive way in order to get a rise out of them but not good enough to ruffle my feathers ,its always the sign of a weak arguement ,i guess i am a bit older than you so i have a much thicker skin and im not easily wound up ,so as far as im concerned this conversation is over unless you have some thing very pertinent to say .

In this very personal prison epistle by the Apostle Paul, he had much to commend the Philippian Church in their faith. But he knew that his time on Earth was soon to end, yet he always prayed for them with great joy for their fellowship with him & for their Christian life & witness.

So Paul, in his final instructions encourages them in their walk & that the joy he had because of them, would be fulfilled (i.e. made complete & overflowing) as they make it a point to be of the same mind, of the same Christ-like love, of the same purpose, & of same humility that Christ showed by going to the Cross for them.

In chapter 4:2, two ladies, Euodias & Syntyche, are specifically mentioned that they be of the same mind in the Lord (or, to be reconciled because of some division), so Paul may have been addressing this matter but also wanted the believers to grow further in Christ by his teaching. Yet Paul already great joy for them, but it would be truly abundant, if the Lord allowed him to visit them on his release, or at least hear about their growth if he was still kept in prison (1:25-27).

Neither of the two Scripture tell you how to be saved, (born again) John 3:16, or Galatians 5. 1st Corinthians 15:1-4 tell us how to be saved during the age of grace. This is the Apostle Paul's Gospel, given to him by the Lord Jesus Christ to preach to the Gentiles. 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 "Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:"

Remember Chris: tongues were for a sign unto the Jews bearing witness to the Gospel to the Jews ( John 20:31) because the Jews require a sign, or they would not believe. Gentiles do not need a sign to believe.

The N I V leaves out 60,000 words, that the KJV has; and most of those word are about the Deity of Christ.

Acts 2:38, according to Matthew 10:5-7 is for the Lost sheep of the house of Israel; and first Corinthians 15: verse 3, and 4, are for the Gentiles. Take a look, and let me know what you think.

Joe Ann, I just came to your question when I was browsing comments. KJV sometimes have two or more verses making up one complete sentence. Here verses 1 and 2 are one sentence. Paul is telling Philippian church people that if they have charity ( 1Cor 13:13) so to speak in verse 1, then they make him happy and he elaborates those characters for them to have, that make him happy in verse 2 like likeminded, same love, one accord, and one mind.

"Fulfill ye my joy" is emphatic. Normally you would say, Ye fulfill my joy if or that.... Remember Isa 40:1, Comfort ye, comfort ye my people....? Isaiah repeated 'Comfort ye' for emphasis also. The more you read KJV, the more you will love its beautiful language. I heard that Shakespeare was influenced by KJV language. By the way, ye is plural of a single person you. I'm sure you knew about it.

Charles Peek: In light of the fact that Jesus told His Disciples not to go to the Gentiles in Matthew Chapter 10; and then later on sent Paul to the Gentiles; why is Paul's Gospel ( 1st Corinthians 15: verses 3 and 4) not in your plan of Salvation instead of Acts 2;38?

Genesis chapter 1 is the general account of the creation of the earth and its inhabitants, including a man and a woman.

Chapter 2 focuses on the creation of that man and woman and it begins...

"These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens," Gen 2:4.

The phrase, "the generations of" is repeated 11 times in Genesis. Adam and Eve were the man and woman that God created and breathed the breath of life into.

From Genesis 12 through Malachi, the last book in the Old Testament, is all concerning Abraham and his descendants, Israel or the Jewish people.

The New Testament concerns the Jews and non-Jewish people referred to as Gentiles, the ministry of Jesus, The Son of God, His death, burial and Resurrection and how his disciples began spreading, The Gospel, the Good News that through trust in Jesus, anyone can be forgiven and have everlasting life, with the intent that God had for everyone.

Yes, The Father, The Son and The Spirit cooperated in the creation events. They agreed, "Let US make man in OUR image, after OUR likeness." Then John wrote, "In the beginning was The Word and The Word was with God and The Word was God...And the Word was made flesh [Jesus], and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth."

It takes the blood of jesus to wash away your sins that when you are born again . St. John ch 3. This is the only way to heaven amen.
