The problem today are Pastors who do not have the Holy Spirit and preconcieved ideas of the infilling of the Holy Spirit referring to the fulness of God seperating the experience what Jesus told Nicodemus what he have and must do to enter into the Kingdom of God.....

Many preach the wrong context of the experience saying sleaking in tongues is only a gift and Mark 16 says beleivers would speak in tongues

Connie, you would certainly have a vibrant, up-to-date testimony of God's intervention in your marred life & his Gift of New Life to you, through His Son. And even God using what seemed as a vile & abhorrent mistreatment by others, turned out to your favour & salvation. You have much to praise God for. And true, following Christian traditions won't save you or anyone else, but obedience to what the Bible teaches for our salvation & hope of eternity, will. If you're referring to the account in Genesis 9:20-25, then, No, the sin of Ham wasn't sexual; he was passing by where his Father Noah was asleep because of imbibing too much, & he "saw" (i.e. he continued to gaze instead of walking away quickly) his Father's nakedness. In one sense, Ham, & his descendants, would not have been cursed, had Ham not reported this thing to his brothers. He must have described in detail what he saw to them, & Noah learned of this act, & so the curse upon Ham.

Just to add some further thoughts to Skip's very good answer to you: as shared from Romans 6:23, the committing of sin, even the smallest sin, will only reap the punishment of death (both physical & spiritual death). As people, we like to grade our sins & misdemeanours, believing that a white lie or evil thought is certainly not as severe as actually offending or hurting someone else. But God sees our behaviour differently, simply because He is Holy, without sin, never knowing sin. So He expected that His perfect creation would behave likewise, as He is. But you know the story: that didn't happen, so the sin nature was passed down the line, & we all do wrong & sin against God.

God had every right to turn His Face from his creation, to either allow us to wallow in wickedness & ultimately be consigned to Hell, or maybe, instantly destroy all mankind, so you & I wouldn't even be here today. But God had a third option: an option not from unrestrained anger seeking our destruction, but of great unfathomable Love from within Him & undeserved Mercy for a wretched people, that would seek our welfare & give us a new life & hope.

Since the only way to pay for our sin is by death (as a heinous sinful nature could only bring the death penalty), we would still have ended up in Hell. But what if someone came before the Great Judge & offered to take on our punishment & make full payment for our sin, so that we wouldn't have Hell as our destination but would be forgiven, anticipating Heaven. Who could fit the bill as the one offering Himself had to be perfect, as God is Perfect? No man could - only God Himself could. For that reason, He sent His Son, His Own precious Word made like us in the flesh, so that a full payment could be made, through His dying on the Cross in our place. But death couldn't hold Him. He arose from the grave so God could now 'justify' us (i.e. He could look at us forgiven sinners 'just as if' we had never sinned). WHY? His LOVE compelled Him to do this.

Seeking to find additional information about how did Aquila and Priscilla saved Paul in Corinth before going to Ephesus. This is outlined in Acts 18 but the reason was never stated; a little information was given in research.

In common understanding of the word, it means 'to express a sharp, stern disapproval; to reprove or reprimand'.

The word doesn't appear in Luke 9:21, so I'll give some other Scriptures that show various uses of the word:

a. Matthew 8:26: Jesus gave out a clear command to the elements.

b. Matthew 17:18: Jesus issued a Divine authoritative Command against the Devil.

c. Luke 9:55: Jesus was stern & gave a strong correction to the disciples' ignorance & presumption.

d. Mark 8:33: Jesus scolded Peter (at least the spirit working in & through him), for challenging the mission that Jesus was on. Peter had (in verse 32) rebuked (challenged) Jesus on that point.

So these few examples might show you how the word 'rebuke' was being used during Jesus' Ministry.

This happened right after Jesus, who asked His disciples, "Whom say the people that I am?" And Peter replied, "Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God."

There is no explicit reason given why Jesus commanded their silence. But the disciples needed to understand who the Messiah really was and exactly what he would do before they were ready to proclaim Jesus as The Christ, The Son of The Living God. But they and the people had an expectation that needed some instruction to be correct.

Even after all the instruction Jesus gave them and three warnings that we was going to have to die, the disciples didn't get it. For instance John records Peter and John running to the tomb after The Resurrection. "Then cometh Simon Peter following him, and went into the sepulchre, and seeth the linen clothes lie, And the napkin, that was about his head, not lying with the linen clothes, but wrapped together in a place by itself. Then went in also that other disciple, which came first to the sepulchre, and he saw, and believed. For as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead."Joh 20:6-9 (KJVA)

And then at the Ascension. "When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power." Act 1:6-7 (KJVA)

But there was a star mentioned in a prophecy by the pagan prophet, Balaam, when he had been hired by the king of Moab to put a curse on the people of Israel. But God wouldn't let him utter a curse no matter how he tried. It's quite a story, with a donkey being more perceptive than a prophet. Anyhow, here's the prophecy that God allowed him to pronounce:

"I shall see him, but not now: I shall behold him, but not nigh: there shall come a Star out of Jacob, and a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel, and shall smite the corners of Moab, and destroy all the children of Sheth." Num 24:17 (KJVA)

This is referring to someone who's appearing later, not at that time. A "Star" out of Jacob and a "Sceptre" out of Israel. Well Jacob was named, by God Himself, "Israel" in Genesis 32:22-32. Judah was the fourth son of Jacob and was the ancestor of King David and Joseph the husband of Mary and Mary the mother of Jesus, The King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

"I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star." Rev 22:16 (KJVA)

I think that most people desire that things be fair, for the bag guys to get what they deserve. But we have it a bit lopsided when it comes to us personally. There, we tend to be somewhat forgiving.

Let's look at an example. Suppose I got angry and slapped my neighbor in the face. What punishment might I receive? How about if I slapped a cop? Same act. Do you think the punishment would be the same? Suppose it was the leader of some country like Saudi Arabia? What would I get then? Probably much more severe. What if I slapped God? Well God is a spirit, I know, but isn't that, in effect, what we do when we do our own thing, denigrate other creatures created in His image. In The Sermon on the Mount, Jesus said if you are angry with someone, it's equivalent to murder and if you lust after a woman, you're just like an adulterer and ends that portion of His discourse with "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect." Mat 5:48 (KJVA)

I'm far from perfect, how about you? We are all sinning every day of our lives, falling short of the glory of The Father's perfection. "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" Rom 3:23 (KJVA) Eze 18:20The soul that sinneth, it shall die. Because we are hopelessly broken sinners and deserve death, "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Rom 6:23 (KJVA) Jesus took our punishment. This event is often referred to as The Great Exchange. Jesus takes our sin enduring the wrath of The Father and we get Jesus' Righteousness.

When Adam sinned, he died. He lost daily fellowship with God. His spirit was dead. Adam and Eve tried to clothe themselves in leaves. God caused an animal to die to give them a covering. This was a picture of Jesus dying for for our sin in order to cover us with His Righteousness. John the Baptist referred to Jesus as The Lamb of God: The Perfect Passover Lamb.

Also, your use of the phrase "he wrote his law for her life she would abide..", sounds like you think being good enough saves you.

This makes me very sad. I wrote this to honor God. To share with you how my heart seeks to return to God my works to preserve the testimony of my trials and tribulations i have been presented with from my childhood to my loss of innocence as an adult to be accountable for my life. I am not worthy nor self righteous. I am constantly told that my love for God is not going to save me from my sins. What sin is it to say that God is my guide?

I tirelessly and persistently search the written words of the prophets of old and even to this day these words are written by everyone here of their own testimony.

I keep my own journals of how my disobedience did not go unpunished. How my choices are my choices. The doors that I walked through out of my sinful temptations , adultery, drug addiction and so much more are not closed behind me. I can turn back to it if i choose to. But my own works will not save me, nor will you be saved by them..

but I am wise enough to choose God and say that i just don't know any other reason for Jesus to die if not so i can live and love the Heavenly Father as my one true God.

Christianity as a whole .. or should i say Religion as a whole is polluted....With the imaginations of men. or should i say the doctrins of men... from the time of the early church until today men have chosen to Hold the truth in unrighteousness' for 1260 years the scripture was chained to the pulpit of the Catholic church... then Martin Luther realized the vanity of there motives and wrote his thesis and nailed them to the door of a pagan religion. But im getting to far ahead .. After 70 AD the true church began to adopt many different ideas and surmising's (YOU CAN TAKE THE PEOPLE OUT OF EGYPT ) But its very hard to get Egypt out of the people. Martin Luther realized that the just shall live by faith , and that faith was not in the church but in the son of God Jesus....This was and still is unacceptable to the powers of Organized Religion Preaching the Resurrection is truth but very wrong in the eyes of them that choose to maintain there Power and Position .

Each of these parables, in fact most that Jesus told, start off, "The kingdom of heaven is like..." Each of Jesus parables generally is being used to illustrate one point in a way as to make it memorable. One thing to remember about the majority of Jesus' ministry: His message was directed to the Jewish people

In the first case, the landowner offers the same wage to each worker regardless of the length of their workday. The ones that worked the longest were the Jews. The one who work only one hour are the Gentiles. They both are welcomed into the kingdom despite all the work the Jews did for centuries, now the Gentiles will be able to share in the blessings of the kingdom.

In the latter case, the invitees spurned the invitation to the wedding of the king's son. Jesus, The Kin if The Jews, invited His own people to accept Him as their Messiah. "He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:"Joh 1:11-12 (KJVA)

As many as receive Him, Jew or Gentile, must come, clothed in The Righteousness of Christ. It is not our own righteousness. "And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:" Php 3:9 (KJVA)

So the man who was judges, was not clothed in Jesus' righteousness.

The call was made to the Jews. But for a few Jewish believers, the vast majority rejected their Messiah. Many were called. Only a few were chosen. In this, the Church age, the call is universal to MANY. But Jesus states "Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it." Mat 7:13-14 (KJVA)

In Matthew 20:1-16, Jesus tells a parable.

Mat 20:1For the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which went out early in the morning to hire labourers into his vineyard.

In Matthew 22:1-14 Jesus tells another parable. "The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son, And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come." Mat 22:2-3 (KJVA)

However the people who were invited, refused to come and the king destroys them for snubbing the marriage of his son. Then the king told his servants to go out to the streets and invite those who had not been invited to the wedding. Now all those who came to the wedding were given a special garment to wear. On guest refused to wear the special garment and the king said to him, "Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless. Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. For many are called, but few are chosen." Mat 22:12-14 (KJVA)

Nick. Great question. As a surviving adult of child trafficking I can answer from my own personal experience. Yes! I have been here for about a week . I hoped to share my experiences about how my love for God is unique to my own life. I have witnessed and survived the most unGodly cruelties of mankind upon children that continues at this very moment. So yes if I had not been enslaved I would not have my own understanding of God's involvement in our lives on a personal basis. But i have been told that i am not saved because i am not a follower of Christian traditions. But I will never forget and I will never be moved from my love of God. The terrifying and wonderful love and fear .

This was a a place to where I had been invited as a guest to hear a guest speaker on a few occassions and to approach one of the ladies would have been no doubt a battle not to be entered into as her position within the church was as equal to the Pastor himself. Not to mention she seemed to also have the authority to have people removed from the church permenantely.

It was far wiser and ordered by God to not step foot in those doors again to which I obeyedand continue to obey. What has happened since those days is between them and God. Not me.

The guest speakers at all of those meeting to which I was invited have contacted me inviting me to other places to meet with them to hear the sermons. It has truly been a blessing.

Yes, we are justified by his grace. Grace means kindness, favor, mercy etc. God is good. He will be kind to the unjust people. To be purified is to be made pure. And to be justified is to made just. Jesus comes to teach the unjust to return to being just. He tells us to return to God and God will return to you. He does not tell us we can continue to sin and he will cover for us. The just have wisdom. The unjust are void of wisdom, they are foolish. When the foolish people are justified, made just, they will have wisdom.

This world need some wisdom.

I am a surviving member of yesterday's thrown away children. I was taken , transported, bought, sold, enslaved, beaten, raped, and thrown away like trash to die.

I have endured, overcome, accepted , and witnessed the most unGodly cruelties of mankind upon children. I survived by the will of God and God alone saved me as others fell where I stood.

This is my where my relationship with God began. I do not consider myself perfect and I am responsible for my actions as an adult. When men stand up in name of Christianity and charity ( not all mankind but those who do) and continue to do this very day , it , as a child i witnessed and associated it with the crosses these men wore around their necks.

So tell me if you can why my love for God is so wrong? What scriptures can you give to me and all the children taking my place? Our worlds are so different. There is a great evil in the hearts of men .. so It was God and God alone who saves me. Saves My life.. and my soul belongs to him..

Naturally, as God in the flesh, He did the will of His Father. Not to do so would be incongruous; that is, it would be God contradicting Himself. One cannot separate the Person from the total nature of The Godhead.

Elohim is the Hebrew word for God that appears in the very first sentence of the Bible. we remember that he is the one who began it all. This ancient name for God contains the idea of God's creative power as well as his authority and sovereignty.

Emerods are painful sores. God told His people, the Israelites, that if they obeyed His laws, they would receive blessings and safely in The Promised Land, but if they disobeyed Him they would receive curses from Him that includes emerods. Deu 28:27The LORD will smite thee with the botch of Egypt, and with the emerods, and with the scab, and with the itch, whereof thou canst not be healed.

These weren't ordinary boils or hemeroids. These were much, much worse.

When the Philistines defeated Israel in a battle, they captured The Ark of The LORD and put it in the temple to their god, Dagon. You can read about it in 1 Samuel 4, 5 & 6. Their false god, Dagon, got trashed!!! Cool stuff! Don't mess with The One and True God! All the men of city and the environs were plagued with emerods from God. It was not just annoying but it was devastating. The Philistines had 5 cities so they each volunteered to take the Ark but when they did, the men of the city got plagued with this terrible deadly scourge.

And chapter 5 ends, 1Sa 5:12And the men that died not were smitten with the emerods: and the cry of the city went up to heaven.

In chapter 6, the Philistines send the Ark back to Israel along with some golden images to appease The God of Israel.

The take away: When Israel sinned against God, they paid a terrible price and that also affected the nations around them. When we believers sin, even though we are forgiven by Jesus' death and resurrection, we bear the consequences of sin and often those around us are affected as well.

God has made covenants with various people as recorded in The Bible: Some of them are...

Noahic Covenant - an unconditional covenant never to destroy the earth again by flood.

Abrahamic Covenant - an unconditional covenant to bless him, make him a great nation, bless all nations through him and give him the Promised Land

Mosaic Covenant - a CONDITIONAL covenant that IF the people of Israel completely obeyed God, they would be blessed by God, but if they didn't, they would receive curses from God.

Davidic Covenant - an unconditional covenant the his reign and throne would last forever.

The New Covenant - an unconditional covenant to give Israel a new heart to obey Him, live in the Promised land forever and enjoy God's presence, a covenant that New Testament believers share in.

Notice that only one is a conditional covenant: the covenant with Moses and Israel at Mount Sinai. This covenant has been replaced by The New Covenant, since Jesus was the fulfillment of the Mosaic Law. Keeping The Law is not a means if grace. Rather it condemns us. "The Law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith." This covenant included the dietary restrictions like not eating the blood or fat of animals. These civil, ceremonial and dietary laws were only addressed to Israel and are not in any way a requirement for New Testament believers. The apostles addressed thus issue at the Jerusalem Council as recorded in Acts 15.

Today, the blood is usually drained from the carcass before the meat is aged and butchered. I'm not really sure whether ingesting large amounts of blood is harmful but I'd guess that's so. But we are under no such prohibition from God as stated in the Scriptures.
