Be strong and hold on to HIS hands, because Jesus Christ will never let your hands go. I am not sure what exactly is going on in your life, but just know you are loved by Our Father in Heaven. Remember in the beginning of the bible where God said "Let there be" and it was so? Yah or our Lord gives us that same power because we are made in His image. Sometimes we all wonder what is taking God so long to answer our prayers. I have learned that it is not my timing, and my ways are not His ways. And what exactly are you taught about original sin? Do you think whatever you're taught is somehow more correct than Ezekiel? The Bible doesn't contradict itself, only man has contradictory interpretations of it sometimes. In Ezekiel 18:20 it says we don't bear the iniquity of the father- is that the verse that doesn't seem consistent with what you were told? I personally don't see any evidence in the Bible that we are punished for others' sins. However, God changed the way he decided to deal wtih mankind based on Adam & Eve eating the fruit, but that's not exactly being punished for sin.

In Malachi 3:8-12, Israel had defaulted in their tithing, by holding back more than they should have. This was very wrong, as tithes at that time that were brought into the 'storehouses' were for the feeding of the priests who were not given land to cultivate & grow crops & were dependent on others for this need. God is saying here, that even if the people performed this commandment & duty fully, with a ready obedient heart, He would reciprocate with blessing, more than they could comprehend. Their fields would flourish & the nations would have the witness of the God of Israel's Love & Blessings upon His people.

In Ephesians 1:3-14, the blessings that come upon the Christian are dependent on what God has done in our lives & what He gives to secure our salvation: they are spiritual blessings which of course, can certainly be seen materially as well but not always. What Israel failed to receive because of their disobedience, the Christian gains because of his position in Christ Jesus & His cleaving unto Him.

So the similarities are there by the receipt of God's blessings, but the difference I see, is that those in Christ, receive doubly to what Israel could ever receive, blessings that come from an eternal, joyful, familial relationship to the Godhead. Where Israel still had to sacrifice each year for their sins, we have One Who has paid sin's price for us. Where Israel's hope lay in their faltering obedience to God's Commands & trust in God to help them, the Christian's sure hope lies only in Jesus Christ & His Spirit Who guarantees our salvation & position in Christ; we naturally demonstrate our faith & love for Him in doing all this for us, which we could never hope to do ourselves.

You're referring now to one of my favourite Bible NT Books, so I'll try & contain myself sharing a bit of the background & answers to your questions.

The Book was written to Christians who were mainly of Jewish background, hence they needed to see from the Scriptures & understand why Jesus was greater in every way being the only suitable Sacrifice for us & to not apostatize by reverting back to Judaism or Jewish thought. Therefore, the Hebrews writer (possibly, Paul), endeavours to show Christ's superiority & of Christianity.

Jesus was superior to the Prophets (1:1-4); to the Angels (1:5 - 2:18); to Moses (3:1-6); & to the Priesthood (5:1 - 10:39). To the Priesthood: Jesus did not come in the line of the priests of old (i.e. through the Levite tribe): He came through David & Judah & yet He came fulfilling the position of Priest. The Hebrews writer explains that Jesus' position exceeded the position & work of the priests: the priests had to offer sacrifices for their sins & for the people, but Jesus fulfilled the role of a High Priest from Heaven, by offering up Himself as the Sacrifice (7:27) & also presently doing a mediating Work in Heaven on our behalf (8:1).

So if Jesus had no earthly qualification to be Priest, it had to be from another. So the typology is taken from King Melchisedec who was a King & served as a priest to his people in Salem (later, Jerusalem). Since there was no record of this king's birth, family or death, Jesus is likened to such an one who served as a priest without coming from a Levitical background. So in Hebrews chap 7, 'perfection' was not realized from the earthly priests (ordained from the 'law of a carnal commandment'), but from one such as Melchisedec (by the authority of an 'endless life', a type of 'eternal existence' of the man Melchisedec).

That Jesus did not sin had nothing to do with 7:16, but that Jesus withstood Satan who determined to make Jesus fail as the eternal Saviour, giving us no further way to salvation.
