Ditto what Chris said about racial remarks, and I've been here for years. Examples please, because "everyone on here" would include me, and that isn't so.
  • Chris - In Reply on Revelation 1:15 - 5 years ago
What you have said is very worrying. I've been on this Site for several months now & have yet to read of someone denigrating someone because of race. Certainly, both we & the moderators of this Site would not let that type of remark pass without due warning & condemnation. It would be good if you gave some examples of what is disturbing you, as I certainly can't recall any.

After Adam and Eve, disobeyed the word . Because of their innocence ,an animal had to die for the sole purpose of clothing these two, and of course those who would follow. This was because of their disobedience! We know God is love, and he loved his animals. They are his creation! So then comes the institution of animal sacrifice, that they may remember their sin, while receiving reconciliation , once again killing that which God made! Many would wonder how and why this way! Killing a beast could not be easy, when done accordingly. The judgment upon man, the process is nothing more than temporary, until the next sacrifice! That is why it could never take away sins! Only Christ could that! Many think we are good! Many think we do not need a savior! I would suggest to those great minds, do you not remember Cain and Abel? There is nothing good in man, his natural state is evil even from his youth. You can deny the truth, and you may in the end be judged according to the law. Or you can walk in this life forgiven through his OWN shed blood receiving eternal life.

GOD is one, Jesus CHRIST in the flesh is doing God's work. GOD is Spirit and he dwells in Jesus CHRIST. So many people get it confused misinterpreting the Bible. Thinking it's three GOD'S instead of one.

I understand your question as being moot. From a human perspective, what God did (or allowed) to Job's offspring seems unwarranted & lacking in love & concern for human value. But if we are to query God for allowing that to happen, then we must include any evil that befalls us & cause us wonder, why did God remain quiet or why didn't He intervene?

Then the matter of God's Sovereignty & Him being the Creator are brought into question. As well as God's view of death & man's view. And the suffering which the saints have undergone throughout the ages, which would cause man to ask, "Why to those instead of others more worthy?". We could also ask, 'What role does Satan play causing suffering or death to people even now'?

These matters we have to deal with in our hearts, but there are no easy answers except to submit to the Sovereignty & Wisdom of God, as Job had to do, as Stephen had to do while being stoned, & countless others. We have been given the privilege to be born into the World to experience life & more importantly, the Love of God. Do we then have the right to question the Giver of Life as to why He allows the death of someone now & of another, later? Should we not look at our lives as a gift from God & that He has every right to remove it however & whenever He chooses? The only way I could question God's actions or permissions is if I'm a part of the Godhead (within His very Being). From any other position, I will have to admit to ignorance & submit to His Lordship as the all-wise Creator.

Why such an attitude as a Christian I never said God sent His son to deliver animals by the way in your line of thought the spirit is soul and the soul is spirit not possible. The spirit when we are born again is given by God we are not born with it which is why God's word says we are born dead in trespasses and sins without God and without hope. When you for the body from dust thou are and to dust thou a shalt return also the spirit we were given God's back to God who have it by the way when Chrsit was on the Cross he says to God into your hands O commend my spirit then he took his last breath and died. Three days later he was raised from the dead body did not corrupt. What does that have to do with animals!

Everyone on here worried about the race of someone who was, supposedly, ALL LOVING AND ALL CARING is absolutely disgusting. Jesus loved all, not only those of a certain race. Y'all tripping, it's pathetic how, no matter what, we can never come together. Black people, White people, Asian, Hispanic, Native... Inuit... It doesn't matter, we all bleed red. If we came together as one then real change would come about, but nope... Y'all steady set with these rich masters dictating how y'all feel, who you dislike, who you trust... Divide and conquer, if we stay divided no change will ever come about, just like they want.

  • Adam - In Reply on Philippians 2 - 5 years ago
Hello, animals don't have souls. They don't make moral decisions about right and wrong, they don't sin, and Jesus didn't die to save ticks, flies, amoebas, corona virus, and rattlesnakes. We are more valuable than animals: Matthew 6:26. We were made in God's image: Genesis 1:27. Scorpions and hammerhead sharks weren't made in God's image. Those who claim otherwise are not reading the Bible first to understand what it means. Instead they are believing what they WANT to believe then cherrypicking certain verses, distorting and twisting them to try to match as close to what they want to believe as they can.

The use of the word unicorn is incorrect. And this isn't the only location in Scripture where a unicorn has been supernaturally embedded in Scripture in the King James version. Numbers 24:8, Job 39:9-10, Psalms 29:6, Psalms 92:10. Another example would be in the book of Revelation chapter 1. The word candlestick has replaced lampstand in 4 locations. Revelation 1:12-13 and twice again in verse 20.

"Unicorn" occurs 6 times in 6 verses in the KJV, including 6 exact phrases shown first.

    Num 23:22

God brought them out of Egypt; he hath as it were the strength of an unicorn.

    Num 24:8

God brought him forth out of Egypt; he hath as it were the strength of an unicorn: he shall eat up the nations his enemies, and shall break their bones, and pierce them through with his arrows.

    Box Job 39:9

Will the unicorn be willing to serve thee, or abide by thy crib?

    Job 39:10

Canst thou bind the unicorn with his band in the furrow? or will he harrow the valleys after thee?

    Psa 29:6

He maketh them also to skip like a calf; Lebanon and Sirion like a young unicorn.

    Psa 92:10

But my horn shalt thou exalt like the horn of an unicorn: I shall be anointed with fresh oil.

    so what is going on?

The Almighty God is all powerful all knowing and everywhere present and knows the beginning and end, what more remarkable all of His created works i.e. man and angels have been given freedom of will. The true God does not over step that, therefore does he know who will believe by freedom of will and be born again absolutely. I like to think how patient he was to wait long enough for a woman to believe to bare his son and Knowing his son would carry out his will perfectly so Our Father God would have a family for all eternity that are cleansed from sin totally and love him by freedom of will. Heres food for thought Jesus Christ said he doesn,t know when hes coming back thats in the hands of the father because only he knows that being written because OnlyGod almighty knows when the last person will believe to be born again. food for thought.

The book of job is the great example of The true Gods deliverance and the absolute destructive nature nature of the of the devil or satan also in reading Job in verse 3;25 he states the thing he was afraid of is what happened to him. What is remarkable he never cursed or slandered God even when His so called friends did talk negative about God JJob stayed faithful and committed and remember satan was told he couldn,t take jobs life. So God was still as always in charge.

There is only one Lord and his name is Emanuel. (of God). Lord means one who has dominion over you and is your saviour and master. We should never give Satan any such title for he is destined to eternal damnation.

I have read the Bible, in many translations and in my poor understanding and translation of Greek. Over the years I have heard and read about St Luke's stating that His mother "laid Him in a manger ..." ( a feeding trough). Many people have spoken , written, about this event and why St. Luke put the story of Jesus' birth in his narrative. My guess is that all explanations are valid.

My thought is that the act of placing Jesus in a "MANGER" is that St. Luke is prefiguring ( if that is the proper word to use) the Last Supper and what we do as Christians to be fed and to be as one with our Lord and Saviour " Jesus Christ ".

From the moment oh Jesus' birth God is calling us to be one with Him and in so doing so we will be empowered to do what we are called to do, as individuals as part of the body of Christ.

Thank you very much, Mishael & Chris. Sometime later, I too realized that I had come to the END of the chapters!! The only option was to proceed to the next chapter.

I happen to have a hardback version of NRSV: if I had only gone to another room to check it, I would have realized my mistake!

I am seeing that the Fig tree is in the season. The many signs we now see are clear. I caution people about thinking everything is already figured out about end times. Many ministries interpret everything and assign times, notions, people, and circumstances. I believe prophecy here is to keep people thinking and studying to find out for themselves. The scrolls will happen to open when we truly find answers. I believe most evangelicals should question the pre-trib rapture. There are many new interpretations that lean to mid-trib. This means we just don't get to think we are outta here. We may go through war and be killed and persecution and martyrdom before mid-trib. As I understand the first half of the trib may result in half the earth's people dying.

I love the story of Job. I relate to him a lot. I just want to ask why God let Satan kill Job's offspring? I know Jesus loves me but why didn't God forbid the devil to kill them? Is not God's love equally for all people? Did they deserve the punishment? I didn't see anything to indicate that? Job was an example of someone who is upright and faithful. I have always felt that God is Love and still believe so. I feel guilty for even asking the question. Should I be feeling this way?

Oh no! You have made a horrible mistake! Marriage is the most honorable gift from God! Marriage is holy it is pure, it is consecrated from above! Jesus is the bridegroom, he will come for his church. Marriage is from God. What shall I do if there is no forgiveness , what would Christ do. No, no, you be married before the angels of heaven, in His church. His church is everywhere!
