Andrew, I believe your objection is to the use of the term "trinity" which is confusing for those who are not believers. In fact this term is used against Christianity by muslims and other pagans. As a former catholic, I can say that I believed that there was no Jesus Christ until Bethlehem. It was not until I started to read the bible that I understood that the Son of God and the Holy Spirit are not separate from God the Father. They are three distinct and eternal beings that are ,together, the one and only God.

There are two Azubahs (which means, 'deserted') mentioned in the Bible: 1 Kings 22:42, here she is the wife of King Asa & they had a son, Jehoshaphat. Jehoshaphat became king after his father.

In 1 Chronicles 2:18, we see another Azubah, & she was the wife of Caleb. This is not the same Caleb of Numbers 13, as he was one of the twelve selected by Moses to search out the Land of Promise before entering & conquering it.

Otherwise, there isn't any further history on these Azubahs.

I think it would be safe to say that God created not only the heavens & the earth, but all the elements required to make them up & bring them into existence. If that were not so, then the question: who created the elements? Which is a question even the evolutionists cannot answer. Matter can never just come into existence out of nothing, even by chance - all things visible & invisible demand a creator. But our friends on the other side of the fence wouldn't want to face that issue - all they can do is try to deny God's existence so as to create doubt in the Truth of the Bible & of Creation.

The Year of Jubilee for Israel, came after the completion of 49 years (i.e. on the 50th year). And during this year, people were released from their debts, slave owners had to grant freedom to their slaves, & property returned back to the owners. It was a year basically dedicated to rest - similar to the institution of the Sabbath, the 7th day of the week as a rest day for Israel. So even those with farms & crops had to desist from working - so it was a time for both the man & the land to recover (there were Sabbath years as well for the resting of the land) & maybe people would attend to the more weightier matters of life.

And for the Christian, the Year of Jubilee foreshadows Christ's future work at the Cross. Through His death & resurrection, the sinner coming in repentance & faith, is also relieved from the punishment due to us & being enslaved to sin - finding our complete & eternal rest in Christ alone.

The Ahimelek of 1 Samuel 26:6, the Hittite, was very likely one of David's warriors; a foreigner, one of many, who attached themselves to David, & particularly after David was made king. Others were Uriah the Hittite ( 2 Samuel 11); Ittai the Gittite ( 2 Samuel 15:19); plus the Cherethites & Pelethites; & those mentioned in 1 Chronicles 27:27-31. These recognized David's authority of kingship & were pleased to be subservient to him & come under the true God.

And the Ahimelek of 1 Samuel chapter 21, was a priest, whom King Saul accused of being in collaboration with his enemy David, and thus had him killed by Doeg. Ahimelek is the same one (called Abimelech in 1 Chronicles 18:16) & thought to be a scribal error.

After the Hebrews writer warns believers about apostasizing (i.e. turning away from the faith), he declares that after all he has just said (in the earlier verses), he is confident that his readers won't desert the Lord & will show the fruit of their salvation ( Hebrews 6:9).

He then describes how they do behave as Christians: showing Christ's love to others particularly ministering to the needs of other believers (v 10).

And in verse 11, he continues with that thought that they should be diligent (to do with great effort & zeal), making sure that they persevere in their Christian walk (i.e. not to slacken off), so that their hope of Heaven after their death will be certain.

He's basically saying (using modern terms), the Christian life is not 'a bed of roses'. We use that expression to denote when one relaxes & enjoys one's achievements without a care in the world. But the writer is saying that people who think that way, are very likely going to fall into Satan's traps & be swallowed up. 1 Corinthians 10:12, "Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall." This is the same thought: "standeth" means the one who is over confident & then relaxes because he thinks that he won't slip away.

The Christian is indeed secure in his salvation, because his salvation is based not on what he has done, but on what Christ has done for him. Yet, he must also be alert to Satan's traps, & walk carefully in this life (& not be slothful, lazy as a believer v 12). He will then know that his life is following the pattern laid out before him & so when the end comes, that his hope (his waiting) for Heaven is a true hope & without fear of being rejected. The true believer will have both a full salvation & also make the full effort to walk worthy of God's call upon his life.

OK I see where you're coming from now Richard. You define sin so strict that in your thinking nobody can possibly not sin. You've justified in your mind that you're doing well spiritually while still committing sin. Do remember that sin isn't accidentally committed. If the cuss word just accidentally comes out...no actually the cuss word tells us that way of talking is still in your heart. Just one example. Excusing sin just won't be accepted with God. And I'm not judging but the word of God does. I could point to many verses that condemns sin, but you've already redefined what sin is to excuse continuing to commit sin. Any thing we do is sin to you, so of course since you can't avoid sin you must be OK with God. Not even close. This goes for everyone reading not just Richard, if you sin you are not saved. Sin is not accidental. It's a shame your god isn't powerful enough to save you from sin. The God I serve is certainly that powerful. He saved me from sin, and He changed my heart to be free of the carnal man. He could save you from sin. The problem is many want saved from the guilt and penalty of sin but don't want saved from the power of sin.

OK then explain about the angels Richard had mentioned that appeared, sent by God to escort Lot and family out of Sodom and Gomorrah. These angels had to fend off sexual advances from the homosexual men of that city?

My earlier comment about men and women being angels, the word angel is used in this context as God's ministry composed of men and women that had been called to preach. But those people sinned and having backslid were cast out of the kingdom of God.

Do what ever you feel is right. It is Christ's love for you that will get you into Heaven not getting a tattooo. He sees you as the beautiful person that HE created. They have been made to feel so horrible about it, that they feel as though their fate was sealed. Some people preach a smoker won't get into Heaven and sorry to say they are full of it. Had I not smoked they never would have talked to me about it. The Lord Of Heaven, Creater of they Universe, O Almighty God himself he loves you. And if you want the whole World to know you love him back who is it to tell you otherwise. The cross is the biggest symbol of love and forgiveness, I think we should plaster it everywhere so if ya wanna put it on your arm well the devil will know this place is taken.lol

Thank you for your comments. The truth is the truth no matter what man had to say about it. I should've have said the Son of Man "comes" not Jesus. I'm curious about "children and the building of a city establish a man's name". That's just one tiny verse that speaks of the coming kingdom. One day we will be named Israel. And one day Elijah will turn the hearts of fathers to their children and the hearts of children to their fathers, before the day of the Lord "comes".

If your faith and love is so strong for the Lord and his word that you commit your life to honoring him. Whether you're right or wrong in your interpretation, God knows his people.

Hopefully we are all focusing on the same God here. The one and only true living Holy God who is our eternal Father. If you believe everybody just goes to sleep, when they die, for however long that's your belief. And I see no need to quarrel about it. Really nobody can prove, or disprove, this.

All I might say is what do you think about all the people who have been "clinically dead" and have experiences out of body, in a paradise or Heaven, and seeing past relatives whom they knew? Maybe one thing in the Bible is when Jesus is transfigured and Moses and Elijah appear and talk with Him. They weren't sleeping.

I believe when my life is over here my destiny is to be with our Father, and Christ, in the Kingdom of Heaven. Only one way to find out.

I do not think about whether or not people are looking down on me. My focus is more evangelistic. People need to have faith in Jesus Christ and just accept what He said in HIS WORD.

My brain leaps over to facts: We must be born again and ready to go with Jesus every day or night... to see our loved ones that have gone before us. I think the best part of going to Heaven; is seeing Jesus in the flesh...in His home.

Once I asked my mother who rarely read her blue Bible: why don't you read your Bible? Don't you want to know what Jesus is like? Most people want to know what a person is like. If you're going to spend eternity with Someone...generally we want to know them well.

The Bible is the only way to get to know your Lord and Savior, is to pursue Him. (Song of Solomon). We are a Bride and He is our Bridegroom. Jesus purchased us with his very best gift; His sinless blood. The deal is sealed. We await the approach of the Bridegroom, come to fetch his Bride!

Carl, if you would permit me to take up your Scripture reference to a similar one in Matthew 21:42-44 as there is a little more given there.

Jesus was speaking to the chief priests & elders (v23), concerning the condition of their hearts, the reception they gave Him & the judgement of God they rightly deserved (vv 33-46).

In verse 42, Jesus speaks of the cornerstone of a building, which in those days, would have been a larger stone, with special markings that made it important & warranted a place of prominence. But in the parable, Jesus, as the Stone that the builders (the Jews which should have recognized the Messiah & built upon from His coming) rejected (rejected & crucified Him), the same One that they rejected, God had made the Cornerstone (of a new building, not of Jews, but those who would believe in Jesus Christ).

Verse 43: The Kingdom of God, which should have been the joy & presence of God amongst His people, were taken from them, as being unworthy, & given to another which would bring forth good fruit & not rotten fruit as the Jews did in their treatment of their Messiah.

Verse 44: upon this Cornerstone from God, if any should fall over this prominent Stone (i.e. be injured by their disobedience even though Jesus was there with them, & tripping on it, being made destitute & miserable), their injury would be severe. But there would still be hope if they learned from their hurt. However, to those that the Stone should fall upon, they would be ground to powder (the final judgement of the Messiah-rejecting Jews will be so severe, that it is likened to a complete desolation, with their remains blown into the winds as powder disperses). The picture here is something they would understand: of one about to be stoned for a crime - the witness would first cast the first blow to kill him, but if that didn't do the job, then he would be put to death by a large stone dropped on the head. This was probably how Stephen died at the hands of Saul ( Acts 7:58-60).
