  • Mickey - In Reply on Genesis 8 - 6 years ago
I read that as a new Christian and was disturbed of course. I asked God to explain it. Incest was tolerated for a period of time UNTIL the LAW was delivered to people after the flood. Then there were laws given explicitly to stop that. If you read it from start until the laws were given you will see it.

You should read a testimony by a Jewish man, named Stan Telchin. His daughter entered college and in time was born again. He fought her new beliefs and set out to prove that she was deceived. It's has history about how the Jews came to be dispersed from Israel. In his searching he has blessed many Jewish believers. Read his journey and I hope it answers questions you have.
If you have questions about prophesies in the Bible, try reading some of Arthur E Bloomfield's books. Reading a newspaper alongside his books will make you very excited about the present and near future.
God grafted gentiles into the family of Israel. It is his plan at work. God bless your search.

Go ye into all the world is something God will reveal to you. He will equip you. Be part of a gospel church do they can pray for you. Go ye May mean your own neighborhood, the neighbors, your family, a nursing home, local college. If you pray before you go, the Lord will bring people to you. Pray to the Lord of the harvest. Don't argue with people as it may harden their hearts against the gospel (birth, life, death and resurrection). Pray for your seeds to be rained on. Don't be discouraged when you are rejected; it is Jesus they are rejecting. Study to show yourself approved.

John 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Matthew 26:41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
Galatians 6:1 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.

I would expect David's decision was reminiscent of the census that Moses conducted in the Book of Numbers prior to Joshua's sanguinary assault upon Canaan. David was probably planning to extend the lands conquered by Joshua (and promised to him in the Book of Joshua), but the Lord took offense, instead attacking Israel with a plague. When the Lord came in the flesh, he was named after Joshua, but was a man of peace and preached love and brotherhood of men, not war. Perhaps that is our message to be gleaned for these scriptures. Maybe it is time to "beat our swords into plowshares", to get our own national houses in order and stop trying to expand into others'.

Barbara, there is severe punishment ( Hell Fire) if the person does turn from their evil ways, and turn to the living God and ask for forgiveness for their sins that they have committed, God is merciful and will forgive that person if they will turn to the Almighty God and repent of their evil ways.

Xs, it mentions all through the KJV Bible that the Lord Jesus Christ is almighty God. Also, to be saved please read Acts 16:31.May the Lord Jesus Christ keep and bless you forever. The word Babylon means confusion, you can research this. The Trinity means the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost, and these three are one, 1 John 5:7-8. Please continue to read your KJV bible, God talks to you through the scriptures.

  • Maria on Genesis 7 - 6 years ago
Those that are called to be saved, through baptism, must remain in the faith and have the testimony of Jesus, which was a witness to all he said and taught and miracles he performed while being in on this earth. They are being called in different ways, and what a blessing it is for them. They want and seek for the truth. Once it is found they live according to how Jesus lived. God does not leave his children, He blesses them in knowledge, virtue, wisdom and opens the minds to understand his laws and covenant given to us. His children are in the world but do not live according to it. The world is enmity to God, the lusts of the flesh, pride, vanity, lies, these things are not of God. Amen.
  • Maria on Genesis 7 - 6 years ago
The Bible is a book inspired by God. In the new testament, we learn through the scriptures how we are to be saved. We learn that we are to accept Jesus as the son of God, through his baptism by John the Baptist. For right after his baptism ( Matthew 3:17) A voice came from heaven saying "this is My beloved Son. In whom I am well pleased." Amen. Now, in ( John 3:3) We learn that in order for us to enter into the kingdom of God we are to be born again, just as Nicodemus was told by Jesus. We are to be born of water and the spirit, which directs us to be baptized. We will become new creatures, all things are new again, and through our faith in receiving the holy spirit we are to be saved. Amen.
  • Maria on Genesis 7 - 6 years ago
In the old testament there were prophets, men enlightened by God to lead the people to his creator. Prophets foretold the birth of Jesus two thousand years before it happened. Jesus came and taught about salvation first to the Jews, then to the gentiles. The payment for sin is death, this was clearly said in the garden of Eden. The Jews performed sacrifices on animals without blemish. This was revealing the death of Jesus who died for us sinners, He was pure, holy, while living in human nature, but with the holy spirit within him. He came from heaven, died, resurrected and went back to heaven because he was a divine being, sent by God. Death did not retain him for he is everlasting, Amen.

Some scholars say that the first male and female in Genesis 1:27 created he them was the Lord creating the souls.
Adam did not have a body till later when the Lord took the dust of the earth and breathed into it
the breath of life in Genesis 2:7.

One last thing Genesis 3:15 gives a hint of the coming savior
Genesis 14 And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:

15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. one day messiah shall crush the head of the serpent.

Many claim Job is older than Genesis
Job 19:25 For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:
