Money was not made by God. Jesus himself, when asked about paying taxes, said 'render unto Caesar which is ceasar's.

  • Sylvia on Psalms 91 - 8 years ago
Reading this Psalm gives me the motivation to live under the shadow of the Almighty, to believe that I am looked after. God has shown me that everyday life can be enjoyed while believing the Almighty one is looking after me.
  • Dewey J on Revelation 7 - 8 years ago
Is it just me or are there only ten tribes of Israel mentioned here an equal number of 12000 people redeemed from each of the 10 tribes mentioned. The tribe of Dan and tribe of Ephraim are not mentioned here in Rev. 7. However, we know that 12 times 12 = 144 therefore the tribes of Dan and Ephraim must be included in the total number of 144.000 of the tribes of Israel. Glory be to God!
  • Monique on Psalms 109 - 8 years ago
GOD PLEASE AVENGE ME OF MY ADVERSARIES IN JESUS' NAME! I claim Ps.91 and Is.54:17.

I've been going through trials for years. My sister and cousins have tried to destroy me, a meter maid in NY put a failed curse on me, two Messianic Jews hate me, my ex-husband's family are wiccans and a banker has tried to bankrupt me!!

Bug off Satan in the mighty Name of Jesus Christ.

Al; The image of a beasts arising from out of the earth or the sea [of peoples]; describes the several kingdoms of the Gentiles ruling over the world since Israel was carried to Babylon, and ultimately concludes in a universal dominion of such corruption and violent cruelty as has never up to then been allowed by God to come; although it was in their imagination to do from the beginning.
  • A disciple on 2 Thessalonians 2 - 8 years ago
Ivan (really lastly); Of course Thomas is a prime example of one who had to be persuaded by actually seeing and touching in order to know for sure. But seeing is seeing; and though it may certainly move some to action of faith; it is still the inner man's response to the Lord's voice; and, "Blessed are they who have not seen, and yet believe." Write me back! :)
  • A disciple on 2 Thessalonians 2 - 8 years ago
Ivan (lastly); I didn't mean to say that YOU in particular, are not of God; but I was trying to demonstrate the point by Jesus' words, that it is an inner response to His Spirit, Light, and conviction of the truth, that men are either for Him or against Him. NEVER ANYWHERE has it proved true, that once men have physical "proof" or scientific verification, that they will repent and be converted.
  • A disciple on 2 Thessalonians 2 - 8 years ago
Ivan (cont.); When the Lord commands us to be perfect just like our Father in heaven is perfect; it means we are to be good and love BECAUSE we are good and we walk in love; not for a reflex or reaction to what people do to us or for what we might get in return. So too with the LORD's gifts of healing and answers to prayer; He heals because He is good and loves; not to prove Himself or show off.
  • A disciple on Jeremiah 5 - 8 years ago
ELDRIDGE; There were 12 sons of Jacob, whom the LORD named Israel: Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Zebulun, Issachar, Dan, Gad, Asher, Naphtali, Joseph, and Benjamin. Their families' descendants which remain to this day; they are the actual children of Israel. The Elect from among the Nations of the Gentiles have been grafted into the promise of the inheritance in Christ; as a wild olive to the true.
  • Jason phelps on Isaiah 53 - 8 years ago
Ray Jay, I just want to add Jacob(Israel)had 11 other sons (tribes)Judah was only one the others went north over the Caucasus mountains to settle in rest of the world so Israel is scattered everywhere these can be traced through genealogies...
  • Bonnie on Psalms 91 - 8 years ago
My beloved sister in Christ (Sweetums)always referred me to read this verse. Now I understand because the Lord is my refuge and my fortress, my God; in him I will trust. I will always refer back to this verse when times are difficult. I will miss you my beloved sister in Christ (Sweetums)I thank you for all the inspiration you have installed in me about Jesus Christ.
  • Redeemed on Acts 2 - 8 years ago
To anyone that posts comments on what they read. If someone has posted something that may not be exactly how you see scriptures, instead of attacking them, take another look at what they are saying and in prayer and love look for a way to help clear up any misunderstanding, so that the person hears God through the conversation not you.
  • Redeemed - 8 years ago
There are people out there tbat say, for people to think that they were drunk, they must have been acting drunk and wild, so its ok for you to act like that too. And the reason for the post is to show people that this verse does not condone that type of behaviour. In the church let everything be done decently and in order. Christ is my head and I am his body he will direct my footsteps if I am wrg
  • Redeemed on Acts 2 - 8 years ago
When the scripture says that others heard this and were in doubt saying what does this mean, it sounds like the people were confused, so God had Peter there to tell these and the ones that were mocking that these could hear , these are not drunk as you suppose, to clearly define yes the wonderful works of God in Christ and to shut the mouth of the enemy that was coming out of mockers.
  • Jeff M Wells on Psalms 126 - 8 years ago
What I think is not important. What God says to me specifically through this passage is what is important.
  • A disciple on Revelation 6 - 8 years ago
Al; there are many ways which the LORD has used to teach us about these things, and with diverse descriptions and symbols representing spirits and spiritual things.; not so many (e.g.) beasts, but so many ways of describing what kind it is, and the things that are, and those that must come to pass before the end. As far as answering your request; what did I miss? I think I was understanding you(?)
  • A disciple on Galatians 1 - 8 years ago
Kieran88; No, we are not still under the Law in the sense that, by the fact that the Spirit of grace has wrought in us through faith to make us a new creation; having broken that which held us in bondage to sin and darkness before, and our sins forgiven and cleansed away; we are then no longer under its condemnation. But the Spirit of the Law works by walking in love and true holiness in Christ.
  • ELDRIDGE MARAH MOBLEY on Jeremiah 5 - 8 years ago
Who are true children of Israel
  • Bruce on Galatians 1 - 8 years ago
Kieran: Knowing that a man is not justified by The Works of The Law but by The Faith of Jesus Christ, even we have Believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be Justified by The Faith of Christ, and not by the works of The Law: for by the works of The Law shall no Flesh be Justified. Galatians 2:16
  • Kieran88 on Galatians 1 - 8 years ago
we are still under the law right? this idea of we just have to believe and we are not under the law is madness
  • A disciple on Revelation 6 - 8 years ago
Hi Al; I want to say some more about why I don't like views of the Commentary. Jesus came as a Lamb, not as a warrior or conqueror. He came to announce His kingdom, giving light and grace for faith. "My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then my servants would fight that I should not be delivered to the Jews." He already has a Name above EVERY name, and ALL AUTHORITY!
  • A disciple on 2 Thessalonians 2 - 8 years ago
Ivan (cont.); When Jesus was contending with the disobedient Jews, He told them that they were of the devil; because they like the devil had no truth in them, and stood not in the truth; because they sought to kill Him for speaking the truth; and when Jesus spoke the truth, they did not believe. ( John 8). And again, "Blessed are they who have not seen, and yet believe." Faith comes by hearing.
  • Michael on Isaiah 6 - 8 years ago
The throne is in each of us. Not until whatever I've crowned king DIES do I "see" the Lord on the throne... though, of course, I do not *perceive* from my place of uncleanness, as the Isaiah in each of us is sent to tell me.
  • A disciple on 2 Thessalonians 2 - 8 years ago
Dear Ivan; you wrote me recently, in reply to my answers about signs and wonders NOT being the irrefutable sign of God's approval; and you said, "..Words are not enough." But Jesus said all contrary to that thought. "He that is of God HEARS GOD'S WORDS; you therefore hear them not, because you are not of God." God has ordained that we be saved by believing the words preached, and receiving Light.
  • Obbie Beal on Isaiah 47 - 8 years ago
WOW! WOW! WOW! where applicable in this chapter, it appears those in this chapter received or were given the identical 'wrath of God' that will be given to the 'women on the the beast' in the book Revelation; it is like 8 months, 3 weeks, 6 days, 'ready or not' it is going to HAPPEN. To GOD be the Glory Honor and Praise cause HE IS better than GOOD cause we are give the blood of Jesus to save us
  • Sodje Nd on Proverbs 10 - 8 years ago
I came to understand through proverb 10:22 that the blessings of the Lord does not have limit, it last forever, everlasting peace, thy will has been done in your life as it is in heaven, no lack of daily food. No more hunger and dryness, no more violence and pains in your dwelling. So this Jesus Christ has come to give us life and not just life but to give it to us in abundance. Faith and His Face
  • Neil, in Canada on Isaiah 45 - 8 years ago
    Isa 45:7 "God creates evil"
God gave all of us a free will, which HE WON'T OVER RIDE! Simply put,(in my view) I eat ice cream, and there are all kinds of flavours...
I had never heard of "pralines and cream", so I tried it....now my favourite
If evil isn't there, you can't choose it.Free will requires 2choices at least
Good, evil qualify. If good only, no free will!
    That's why !

  • David on 1 Thessalonians 4 - 8 years ago
There is a pre-trib rapture for the church described in I Thess. 4:13-18. There is also a post trib rapture of those who endured
to the end ( Matthew 24). Matthew -John are actually Old Testament until the Resurrection of Christ, and in those gospels
Christ did not come to the gentiles, but strictly to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
