The wrath of God because of sin is what we are saved from .

Sin for some is a season of pleasure and very deceptive and deadly yet they don't see that .

By faith we believe the effects of Sin .

If you read about the seven churches, you have a mix of faithful and unfaithful people in the churches . Most where called to repentance. Some had slipped from a previous walk . The lord did not abandon them but warned them .

I agree it possible to be over comers and we are called to be . We can live victoriously over sin , but there will be a lot of trouble in this world for doing so , but we seek a better one to come where righteousness is .

God excepted Job and Job prayed for his friends that God did not except , seems Jobs friends where unable to speak to God at all or God would not hear them. It's a good study . There is a sin unto death and a sin not unto death . God of course is the judge of all errors . Bottom line is sin never can be taken lightly . The importance of intercession is well seen when sin or errors happen . Thank God he prefers mercy or we all would be doomed .

I trusted Jesus at about eight years of age. I was well aware of his presence well before that.

Like most believers, I accepted things of the world as normal and acceptable. Things that most Christians don't see anything wrong with, so they embrace them, without even thinking or realizing that these things are things we should not embrace!

Little things, like listening to pop music!

Who doesn't listen to pop music, right?

But it's total garbage!

It sings about sinful actions, and makes them all sound so natural and normal.

But the natural man is flawed by sin!!! So while it's natural, even normal, it's not acceptable to God, and therefore something believers should avoid!

It all starts little. Baby steps in the wrong direction, fast forward fifty years, and it's amazing I wasn't already turned over to Satan for my flesh to be destroyed! ( No, I wasn't doing that, but my sins were pretty horrible nonetheless !)

I struggled. God was patient!

Things got very bad. My life and marriage nearly ruined.

Sins we commit, don't just hurt us, but they hurt others as well, and they hurt our mission for why we are even here!

All things are created by him and for him!

It DOES MATTER that we resist temptation!!!

Our salvation is secure, but there are still consequences for sinning!!!!

Even though it's not our spirits that are sinning, but our flesh, and even though it's not derailing our salvation, it's having consequences and may well prevent others we were supposed to reach for Christ, from ever coming to be his child!

I don't want to be that guy!!!

I want my Savior to be pleased with my actions in my flesh.

I'm not trying to win a prize, or salvation.

I already have that.

He's already given me the perfect spirit that doesn't sin and cannot be flawed, and unrevokable salvation, kept by his power!

I agree, Sin is a good subject to discuss. You state: "What are we saved from? We can be saved from sin." If you stand on that premise, then certainly, Christ's Salvation saves us from sinning again. But if one believes that His Salvation doesn't do that, rather saves us from the penalty of sin, then this becomes very different.

There are three aspects in the Work of Salvation: 1. a legal requirement by God (i.e. a complete & lasting payment was required for our sin so that God could forgive us on that basis): Romans 8:1,2. There was no other option in God's Mind to consider another possibility to redeem sinful man to Himself. So we say that we are Justified before God (i.e. just-as-if-I'd never sinned).

2. a purifying requirement (i.e. a sinner who has been saved is expected to deal with sin, with temptations & slip ups). He cannot continue in a sinful lifestyle as the Spirit of God abides in him ( 2 Corinthians 1:21,22) to convict him & give him power to live in holiness, putting on the whole armour of God ( Ephesians 6). We are Sanctified, set apart & the work of sanctification is an on-going work to bring us into the likeness of Jesus.

3. a glorifying requirement (i.e. this is the end result for those who have been justified & sanctified). Our future glorification can only be the result of God's Work in us ( Romans 8:17), accepting us, not because we claim to be sinless, but rather we are sinners saved by His Grace alone, justified, sanctified & having our hope resting only on the Lord Jesus, having fought the battle well.

It would be a nice thought to believe that we can never sin in this life. All believers have struggled with sin, even the great Apostle Paul ( Romans 7), & we will continue to do so until our spirits return to God. Any who claim that they don't sin, either have an incorrect understanding of what sin is or are deluded into believing their present state is sinless.

Job was perfect before God ( Job 1:8) yet he sinned (9:20). He was accepted.

In Mark 5:1-17, we read of the account of the demon-possessed man, who was released from that evil possession. In that release, the demons needed to be physically cast into other living creatures, or else they would roam free to possess others, & so Jesus had commanded them to leave the man & to possess the swine. Of course, the swine began to exhibit the strange behaviour that comes with demonic possession, & began their wild run which saw them eventually drown into the sea.

So the herders of the swine, witnessing all this, also ran off & reported this to the townsfolk. So they told them about how the demon-possessed man was freed & how their swine subsequently perished. So the people were not concerned about the swine - they simply listened to the account by the herders concerning the man & the swine. The herders, of course, would have had to break the bad news to the owners of the swine, as to why the whole herd perished. We're not told about their fate & whether they still had their jobs after all this.

Just to clarify what I wrote, that puzzled you: I was thinking of the believer, who, in his war against the enticements of his flesh, simply cannot find the spiritual fortitude & faith in God to be an overcomer. Even his spiritual armour appears weak & useless when in confrontation. Rather than persisting in the battle (for it is a very long & relentless battle that we fight), he continues to weaken, giving further & further into sin, when finally he consoles himself by stating that all cannot be lost as he is still saved & secure through Christ.

My statement may have conveyed the thought that this sinning believer had a defective understanding of his salvation & its permanence. Rather, I hoped that it conveyed, that the sinning believer actually fully trusted in the security of his salvation however that by continuing to sin in the flesh, he believed it would not have an effect on his salvation. I hope this clarifies my wording.

But of course, that type of understanding is very wrong. God's judgement will come upon him if he chooses to surrender in the battle, even though all of Heaven's resources are at his disposal. Indeed, Paul's painful & stern warning came to those who sinned in such manner (with the example of fornication in the Church): 1 Corinthians chapter 5, where such were to be cast back into Satan's domain that the flesh may be destroyed, so that the spirit might one day be saved. (Also seen in 1 Corinthians 11:27).

As you said, sin will come to the believer, but as a Spirit-filled person, he deals with it & certainly never lets it take control, rather allowing the Spirit to minister God's Grace for forgiveness & healing.

Proverbs 18:22: "Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the LORD."

There could be other ways of understanding this verse, but taking into account that God alone has created man & woman & that for each other, the ideal plan set by God for us, can only be found in the beauty of holy marriage. The verse implies that the man who finds a wife, should seek one who altogether displays the characteristics of godliness, inner beauty, humility, love & care for her family, & many more traits. He then has the blessing of the Lord upon him & his family's life, as an example of God's intended family structure set by having the Lord God at the head of his family.

Sadly, Satan has had his way with many, & even amongst Christians, where either or both parties do not adhere to God's Word, particularly by not showing understanding, love, forgiveness, seeking reconciliation, etc. to each other, & so that which is holy before the Lord continues in unhappiness & tension & maybe an eventual total breakdown. As well, this verse tells me that the Lord's Favour lies in a loving, man-woman marriage & not in any other way. The Lord cannot delight Himself in a true display of godliness in us, if we wilfully go against His Plan for a true family existence on Earth.

In Mark 5:16 why were the people also concerned for the swine of pigs?

As far as the animals are concerned if we observe them, even the plants and Fish, birds that fall (sparrows) their designs seam to be patterned after us inasmuch as they are either males or females, plants, creatures, not sure about amebas or germ, or viruses???Because of the dark ages in the Western Hemisphere some common sense things JESUS taught were lost?!?! "All" the thousands of years old religions teach that "AS THEY ARE WE ONCE WERE, AS WE ARE THEY ARE EVOLVING TO"?!?!?! They seam to be in the loop of GOD'S creations?!?!?!?! I like to think that ADAM had a really good relationship with ALL GOD'S creatures before the fall from the Garden Of EDEN seemly left us with permission to mistreat them!?!? Maybe JESUS will make repairs in the BREACH we have with Common Sense?!?!?!

Sister Western; maybe I could share a thought or two on the here after with you, Paul tells us that according to our faithfulness we may RECIVE a reward much like the GLORY of the sun, he went on to say some will RECIVE a glory no brighter than the moon, but Many because of their like off faithfulness will only have as much glory in as the many differences in brightness as the stars. And of course JESUS referred to those that came to HIS LIGHT and took no Root in the barren ground, and fell away, (Backslide)However some fell into good soil and bore much fruit, and when we stand before the the SAVIOR at the Final Judgement to be divided left with the goats or right hand with SAVIOR'S sheep who responded in this life to HIS voice. (Outer Darkness) awaits those who fell with the third of the angels and Satan from heaven?!?!?!

Thanks for your comments and sharing of the scripture! Sounds as though we are in agreement about the subject of salvation and the change that takes place the instant that we believe.

However, your following comment I found to be somewhat puzzling:

"Many just give up & submit to the flesh & continue to do so, erroneously believing that "my salvation & eternity are secure through this great transaction".

It is very easy to take this attitude regarding our actions in the flesh, knowing that salvation cannot be lost, it seems much easier to give in to the sinful desires than to stand up against them out of love, honor and obedience to God!

It was pretty much my attitude for the first 50 years or so of my Christianity!

But while I erred in attitude, I was not "erroneous" in my belief that my salvation was secured by the Holy Spirit of God!

God sees us as the new incorruptible spirit he creates with the Spirit of Christ inside us, when he makes us born again!

He no longer sees us as lost sinners with flawed flesh and a dead spirit!

Because his Spirit remains inside of us, we are holy, righteous, incapable of sinning, and we are incorruptible!

If God did not do it this way, making us with an incorruptible new spirit, it would take but one sin to cause us to be lost again, forever!

Because as the scripture explains in Hebrews chapter 6, if a person who is saved could actually lose his salvation by sinning, it would be impossible to save us again! Pointing out once again that it's the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus that covers our debt, FOREVER, once and for eternity!

Thank God our salvation is not dependent upon our sinless walk, because if sin could derail salvation, it would only take one sin!!!

Who shall lay anything to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifies!

I will say this: If a person has truly trusted in Jesus, they are born again.

A born again Christian sins.

That is inevitable.

But a born again Christian can never lose his salvation!

Revelation.18:23

23 And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.

On this verse what is meant by "sorceries"?

Basically the Holy Ghost will have to burn the demon in the baptism of fire in Judgement. The baptism of fire is where the Devil and his angels get cast into the lake of fire, they won't have the Holy Ghost. We believers will. If you willfully sin you will be worst off than when you did start. Meaning not as great in the Kingdom of God, less inheritance.

Matthew 3:10-13

10 And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and [with] fire:

12 Whose fan [is] in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.

The bad trees are also known as tares, demons. He didn't punish the demons yet because he seeks to salvage and harvest the good works of Faith. Upon baptism of water and initial confession of Lord Jesus, sin remisses. However wilful sin after that is not remissable and must wait and be burnt away upon harvesting of the wheat(good works of Faith). Baptism of water gives us good conscience to grow. Baptism of fire removes the sin as we enter the Kingdom of God upon harvest(Judgement Day)

Matthew 13

Ecclesiastics only has 12 chapters/scriptures ....where did you get 25:19 ? what bible/book you quoting from?

The only reference that I can think of, pertains to buying & selling on the Sabbath Day. Assuming that there was sufficient food & other items to be traded, on the Sabbath, Israel was required to desist from any trading (amongst many other things), so as to keep the Day of Rest holy unto the Lord. Nehemiah 10:31, speaks of this:

"And if the people of the land bring ware or any victuals on the sabbath day to sell, that we would not buy it of them on the sabbath, or on the holy day: and that we would leave the seventh year, and the exaction of every debt."

Jesus fasted 40 days and 40 nights without eating. God had His angels minster unto Him. Jesus was absolutely on a mission for God. Our church had a 10-day fast. It was from midnight to noon, or midnight to 3:00PM without food, but praying all the while in our heart. Let God speak to you. He knows your heart. On the 10th night we had all night prayer meeting and the Spirit of God was high. People were saved, and some received the Holy Spirit. The Spirit of the Lord came by and everyone was really blessed. Let Jesus lead you in all things. If you are on medication, take it with water and go on with the fast as you physically can. You can fast 5 days, 7 days. Talk with Jesus. It is also a suggestion to have someone fast with you. This way, you have a prayer partner and spiritual support. Jesus said when two or three are gathered in my name, I'll be there. How great is this!
