The Apostle Paul gives us more insight in 1 Corinthians chapter 7 among other passages.

why those who profess the faith alone concept to be saved have built their own churches with differing names where they conduct their so called fellowship. All of these are deeds or actions of faith, right? And they are teaching, just accept Christ and your faith alone can save you. So if a person does that - having faith alone in Christ - no need for him to join any denominations, right? In this connection, why God said that there are people who serve Him with their lips only but their hearts are not but are looking after their own benefits?

There are two aspects to consider. First, due to the fallen nature of mankind brought on us by Adam's sin, people have desires for many things that are outside God's will for our lives. We all have what we call a carnal sin nature, or the flesh. Different people have different fleshly desires. Simply to be tempted in our weakness is not sin.

And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. ( Romans 8:10-14)

Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. Our second consideration is the act itself:

Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination. ( Leviticus 18:22)

This means the LORD finds it repulsive and those who engage in it have rejected God.

im currently reading the bible. However, the language is somewhat confusing. Is the a site that explains verses in todays comprehension. I really enjoy reading the bible, however again, Im have problems understanding the contents.

It may point you to other scriptures that enhance your scripture you are studying OR it may point you to a prophesy that has been fulfilled or is to be soon fulfilled.

Or you can type your scripture in Google, then type 'commentaries' beside it. Read some of the commentaries and it may help you in your study "of hard sayings".

Abebooks dot com to find a better study Bible.

Seeing your question I just felt to give a reply. As of coarse you probably have seen there are some people who would say "Jesus is God" and some who are against that and only want Him to be the "Son of God". My feeling on this would be maybe right in between. Probably not heard of much. I believe Jesus Christ was more than just a man on earth. Believing He existed with God the Father before the stars and moon were created. Being our eternal Lord and Salvation sent to us by our Perfect Father. I believe the Father and the Son are One but Jesus Christ and the Father are not the same. That may be confusing but just how I perceive them. If I am wrong I will find out one day. I love them both the same. With all my heart.

It was special to read that you have turned to Jesus Christ coming out of Islam. I had spent much time with dear Muslim folk whilst serving in Pakistan so when I hear that God's Spirit has brought you Light & understanding of the Truth, my heart rejoices. Yes, the Bible, God's Word is an amazing Book. Not just for its historical value but, as you're finding out, for its living Words out of the Mouth of God that cuts deep into our hearts & exposes us for who we really are. And yet, it gives us the way out of our predicament - through His Word made flesh (Kalimat'ullah).

I would love to hear your testimony bringing you to salvation. Baptism, is an outward demonstration of an inward change, just as the Lord's Supper shows a visible acknowledgement of Christ's Sacrifice in one's life. Baptism visibly shows you personally & those who witness the baptism that you have come out of religion, out of vain philosophies/imaginings, & now cleaving to the Son of God Who alone could save you from your sins & give you a new life & a new future, when once upon a time, you only hoped that your good deeds outweighed the bad. Every sin, any sin, is detestable to a Holy God & since 'something dirty cannot clean itself', it took Someone pure & holy to step in to do it for us. And that is what faith in Christ is: trusting God through Jesus to forgive us of our sin because of what He has done & nothing that we could do.

If you're connected to a Bible believing, Christ-centred Fellowship, do talk with your Pastor/Elder about this matter of baptism. It is the first step in a Christian's walk as it will always give you that confirmation of what took place spiritually in your life ( 1 Peter 3:21). I have decided to start studying the New Testament, as a former war veteran, I find the Old Testament to be to mentally stressful. In fact my Mental Health Councilor recommended that it would bring more joy, and peace to my old mind from the past . As I have already walked down those evil roads 54 years ago.

Chris-thank you for your reply. It is comforting to know that a total stranger cares of my hurt and emptiness. It has been a very long and very hard almost 13 months without my Patty. I have prayed for God to please take me so I can have some peace, so I can see my Patty again, but He insists that I continue living at least for a while longer. Can someone break this down?

Even IF there was a dual/parallel creation by God, Genesis chapter 6 declares that God would "destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them". Genesis 6:7. "But Noah found grace in the Eyes of the LORD".

So IF all the "creations" of God were destroyed by the flood, bar the "eight souls" ( 1 Peter 3:20), & I'm a Gentile (a part of the first creation & not of Adam's line) & therefore not in the line of Adam - Noah - Abraham - David - Jesus, then in fact, I don't exist.

And IF God's Judgement by the flood was restricted only to Adam's progeny because of their "wickedness being great", then why overlook those "Gentiles" who would also have been wicked because of their sin & not include them in the worldwide destruction - or maybe they were sinless & needed no judgement as we're not told that sin was in them nor passed onto them? Then this might give some added weight to our 'sinless perfection' brethren's argument, sans their need of Christ. The mind starts to boggle indeed. Or, maybe there's a link that I've missed.

I thank you for your response! It is amazing when you read Jude, John III and John II. They warn about deception and people coming into the church and saying a whole lot of nothing. And denying the complete fullness of Christ. You see that today as well. Preachers on TV saying a whole lot of nothing. I think the people are more ignorant leaving the show pertaining to Biblical matters then when they did before they sat down to watch it. I recently was alerted by a friend to view a YOUTUBE clip where Kenneth Copeland said God was the biggest failure in the Bible. I cannot believe for a second anyone would attend his church. Jesus was saying to Paul, about not being able to resist the truth, that it was Jesus who knocked him off his horse, and is Lord, calling to him; And that he must go forth in obedience with the truth of Jesus.

The first verse that comes to mind in light of interpreting Scripture with Scripture is Matthew 10:16 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.

To me taken in context this verse was, is, and will be highly condemnatory on the day of Judgement; the Great White Throne Judgement that is.

It speaks to the fickle nature of man an God's willingness to go to every length possible both imaginable and unfathomable to offer His great mercy and forgiveness, all without violating His Holiness and character.
