Here is how I feel about this verse in this day and age. I read it and say to myself what think about this verse if there were no verse before nor after it. Be ye angry, yes I am angry the way this world is today. Jesus Christ died on the cross for all our sins and if he would not have we would all continue to sin and go straight to hell when we die, no chance for heaven nor eternity. Let no the sun go down upon your wrath, No, I will not let the Sun go down upon my anger regarding the way this world is today, I know Satan is always around me however, he cannot touch me as long as my Father Creator is around me always. Satan is not my Father nor Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ is and of whom I will always pray too. We as human have complicated the most simple things. One Father, One Son and One Holy Ghost, AMEN TO THAT. Whomever may send me a negative response to my comment, Does not bother me that just causes more anger which I know how to ignore. Thank You

What is sin? Is sin 'works of the flesh' or is sin 'unbelief'? I think the Bible says if a man thinks a thing to be sin.....it is sin. So is the 'sin' the thing or the thinking? Are we still sinners because we don't think we are not? Doesn't the Bible say that Jesus took away all of our sins?
    Holy to the Lord?

Disciple, you are right about your comment on Reg. Some do it out of ignorance but some laziness. Even human beings names are not spelt with small letters.

Verse 8: David did not just react to the situation based on his emotions, but he inquired of Jehovah God. We can imitate his example and look to God for the best decisions to make.

Saul had strayed so far from God that he turned to divination. We must make sure that we trust in God or we may be tempted to turn to uncanny means to find out about a matter.
  • John on Revelation 1 - 9 years ago
I pray to the Lord God Jesus Christ that I will be ready on the day. I must confess the more I think I know about the Word the less I find I do. Therefore pray for me brothers and sisters, pray to our Lord God Jesus Christ that my eyes may be opened, for I am blind in flesh also, that I might see and know.

James 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not and it shall be given him. Paul wrote 13 books of the Bible and is the 13 Apostles.

Verse 14: We should wait on Jehovah God to correct matters and have firm trust and confidence in Him. Trusting in God will give us courage.

Verse 5: We must bring any negative or wrong thought into captivity and to make them obedient to the Christ. We need to find ways to combat negative thinking by applying encouraging Scriptures.

Verse 14: Adam was not deceived, but he willingly disobeyed Jehovah God and ate the forbidden fruit.

Verse 37: We need to pray to God to help us turn away from vain and worthless things.

The nature of a bully is to abuse others in order to dominate them with cruelty and fear. The man or woman of God who walks in truth and speaks the truth to his or her neighbor, is then slandered and castigated by the immature and the selfish, who are unaccustomed to being corrected, and offended by wholesome teaching. Its not "religious oppression" to prod your brethren on to perfection!

Ray; regarding the thing with Mr. Diffin; which you came in on after the fact; it is just like you quote here: he was calling into question "the whole Christian interpretation of the Scriptures" as if we were intentionally "twisting them" to make them to mean Jesus. The aprt where you came in was when I tried to show him, but he just wants to quarrel, and NOT BELIEVE. You can't "reason" with that!

John 21:12 Jesus saith unto them, Come and dine. And none of the disciples durst ask him, Who art thou? knowing that it was the Lord. One day we will have a glorified body like Jesus and be also able to eat fish.

Verse 20: We should listen to counsel in order to learn and grow. We are all imperfect and will need counsel from time to time.

John 19:36 For these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken. They were supposed to break Jesus bones, but thru the Grace of God, they didn't. The Bible is true and Holy.

John 18:40 Then cried they all again, saying, Not this man, but Barabbas. Now Barabbas was a robber. Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Jesus came to die for all sinners. Jesus is the redeemer.
  • Ray321 on John 17 - 9 years ago
John 17:3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. People today don't know who Jesus is. Jesus is God.

Practical Christianity does take care for the natural comforts of this life. We are not made of stone, and the LORD never intended us to think, either of ourselves or others, in that way. In Matthew 25 for example, what will separate the saved from the damned will be HOW WE TOOK CARE OF ONE ANOTHER in natural and practical ways! Its not always to "spiritualize" the things; but love is spiritual!
  • Ray321 on John 16 - 9 years ago
Ephesians 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow,

BSP; that's a wonderful point! It is an example of a very great lesson for us about the nature of our Father in heaven and His kindness and mercy and forgiveness. In the Law it was written that the children of Moab were not allowed to come into the inheritance of the Lord in Israel because they met them not with mercy but hired Balaam against them. But Ruth was released from that word by her love!
  • Ray321 on John 11 - 9 years ago
John 11:4 When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby. Jesus knew Lazarus believe and worshiped him, by bringing Lazarus from the dead, it was a picture of how Jesus was going to be Glorified when he dies.
  • A disciple on Ezekiel 34 - 9 years ago
I think there is sometimes too readily used the symbolism of things spoken of in the Bible; when it should better be understood by its intended meaning first. The Scriptures of the Prophets were primarily directed toward Israel; a real people, who really did the things written about them; and who are to this day really still like that! They are in the world among the Nation for a testimony to GOD.
  • A disciple on Psalms 113 - 9 years ago
When we speak of the things of the Lord, we are praising Him. When we try to comfort others and show them from the Scriptures the answers to their troubles and sorrows we are praising the Lord. When we walk in truth in sincerity and a good conscience, and fight the good fight of faith, AND NOT SIN, we are praising the Lord and glorifying our Father in heaven for all men to see. PRAISE YE THE LORD!
  • Ray321 on John 10 - 9 years ago
John 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: Jesus said to the Disciples follow me. Matthew 4:19 And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. Now Apostle Paul said follow me . 1 Corinthians 11:1 Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ. Now Jesus is using Paul for us Gentiles to follow him. I follow Paul thru Jesus Christ our Lord
  • A disciple on Jeremiah 20 - 9 years ago
Even though the LORD had foretold everything to Jeremiah, about how the people would NOT receive him nor hear his words, but would fight against him; yet still, when he actually begins to experience what God sees every day, it is hard! We wishfully [mis]-think that if we really were mature in the Spirit, and could speak perfectly as right from the Lord, that people would receive it as a blessing.
  • A disciple on John 5 - 9 years ago
Ray; Do you think the Holy Spirit is going to use a dirty vessel to pour the Living Water through? PAUL DID NOT STILL HAVE A PROBLEM WITH SIN! "Whom the Son sets free is REALLY free." Reality is "Sin SHALL NO LONGER HAVE DOMINION OVER YOU." After you have been set free and released from jail, you're no longer in jail! Why would anyone think they're still locked up, after they've been released?
  • A disciple on John 6 - 9 years ago
Let the righteous smite me; it shall be a kindness: but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful. Its a small thing to be corrected; but it is selfishness that CANNOT be corrected. Sadly, we live in a time that is flooded with the evil spirit of "love of self;" that makes the good and clean and normal to appear strange and offensive. We are given the Word and His Spirit to know better as His children.
