There is no such verse trinity in the bible. The 'us' refered to the Father and Son.

    Dear Heidi.
God bless for taking the decision to follow christ. You cannot worship alone all the time, ps 1:1 there is an unrighteous congregation but the are also righteous congregations. The Spirit of God will lead you in giving to the LORD. Pls do not forsake the assembley of believers. It is a requirement.

Psalms 119:73 "Thy hands have made me and fashioned me: give me understanding, that I may learn thy commandments." Our God knows and understands all things; and His desire regarding us has always been, that as His children we should also. If there had been no sin in the beginning... but we never got a chance to learn how to be His children the way He had in mind when He created us, until JESUS!!!!

Martha; I looked up "in the spirit of" and found this simple but helpful definition to answer your question; which then makes John as foreshadowing Elijah just ahead of the Lord's coming in its perfection at the end of this age. "There is the letter of the law and there is the spirit of the law. The letter of the law are the laws themselves; the spirit of the law is the principle behind the law."

"..WITH THEIR LIPS DO HONOR ME BUT HAVE REMOVED THEIR HEART FROM ME AND THEIR FEAR TOWARD ME IS TAUGHT BY THE PRECEPT OF MEN.." Greek hupokrites; (from hupokrinmai; to decide (speak or act) under a false part); an actor under an assumed character (stage-player), i.e. (fig.) a dissembler (one who hides under a false appearance to conceal facts, intentions, or feelings under some pretense) HYPOCRITE

God's favour over David still persists. He is not allowed to build a house directly for the Lord but indirectly by his son Solomon. As Daiod said in verse 27, whoever God has blessed, is blessed forever except if iniquity comes in. "...for thou blessest, O LORD, and it shall be blessed for ever."

TITUS 1:14 "NOT GIVING HEED TO JEWISH FABLES AND COMMANDMENTS OF MEN THAT TURN FROM THE TRUTH" Matthew 21:38 "But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance." The Jews absolutely and without apology reject the Lord Jesus Christ, and have entirely set up themselves as the authorities instead of Jesus.

The inaugural psalm of David in this chapter is moving. It underlines the need for us to praise God ALWAYS and give him adoration for His power and might.

This is God's view of secret sins. Sneaking deceitful sinning; NOT a slip, NOT a health issue, NOT Oh poor weak brother! But sneaking deceitful sinning! And this example was made for all of us to fear, and do no such thing against any of the commandments of the LORD. Not only himself, but his children and his animals and ALL that he had was destroyed, because of his wicked lusts and disobedience!

Hi Martha, nice to hear from you. Well my thoughts about how John went before the Lord to prepare His way, was after the model set by Elijah; as it were a foreshadowing of the great Day of the LORD; when Elijah himself, with Enoch himself, shall come for fulfilling their great ministry in advance of the Second Coming Of Christ and the end of this age; in such power of the Spirit never before seen.

Titus 1:3 3 But hath in due times manifested his word through preaching, which is committed unto me according to the commandment of God our Saviour. Apostle Paul was given the Words to preach from God the Son. Nobody knew what Jesus was telling Paul, when Paul reveal it in writing, the Jews were shocked in unbelief.

Daniel 5:16 And I have heard of thee, that thou canst make interpretations, and dissolve doubts: now if thou canst read the writing, and make known to me the interpretation thereof, thou shalt be clothed with scarlet, and have a chain of gold about thy neck, and shalt be the third ruler in the kingdom.

2 Corinthians 9:8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work: The Kingdom of Heaven is promised to the Jews and the Body of the Church is for the Gentiles in the Kingdom of God. 2 Thessalonians 1:5 Apostle Paul was writing to saved Gentiles.
  • Ray321 on Romans 12 - 9 years ago
Romans 12:4-5 4 For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: 5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. As brothers and sisters in Christ, we should all be like minded as Apostle Paul said, if one of us hurt, we all hurt. Jesus is the head of the Church Body, let's Love one another in Christ not in foolish words.
  • Ray321 on Romans 5 - 9 years ago
Matthew 9:32 As they went out, behold, they brought to him a dumb man possessed with a devil. It is easy for the Devil to advantage of the Weak. 1 John 2:22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. We must BELIEVE that Jesus is God and only One.

Isaiah 55:8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. God will teach a man if he his willing in his Heart.
  • Ray321 on John 13 - 9 years ago
John13:7 7 Jesus answered and said unto him, What I do thou knowest not now but thou shalt know hereafter. Romans 8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. The Holy Spirit will open our eyes to the Word of God.
  • Ray321 on John 12 - 9 years ago
Ephesians 4:29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. Jesus was not ready for the Gentile world, Jesus had to finish the work on the cross. St. JOHN 12:20-24. The Word is so real ..
  • Donna Cromb on Genesis 3 - 9 years ago
Insight and disciple, u bring up some good points that sin is making a choice to disobey God, to willfully turn from God, and sin is death in a spiritual sense. I never understood that and my father said it's just a story. I don't think so any longer. God is saying how we were separated from Him by Adam's sin, how we lost the garden of Eden. And it was not all Eve, Adam made a choice.

Does anyone know what the rivers are in verses 11-14? The only one I recognize is the Euphrates and the land of Ethiopia, is that the Nile? I found the Euphrates but it says its in Mesopotamia which is where? It's not clear in Strongs concordance and my maps don't include it.
  • Ray321 on John 2 - 9 years ago
At that last meal, Jesus Christ told His disciples to eat bread and drink wine as symbols of His body and blood. Luke 22:20 20 Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you. The Lord's table, wine for blood, bread for body. Give Thanks

Jesus also said that we are to deny our selves, pick up our cross, and follow Him. We must crucify our fleshly nature with Christ to be true disciples. Otherwise we cannot walk in the authority He gives us to tread upon serpents and scorpions and over all the powers of the enemy without being hurt. If we walk in the flesh, we can easily be tares, not the wheat.
  • Carol S. in Walnut Creek, CA on Matthew 3 - 9 years ago
Stuart, Jesus said those were the two GREATEST commandments on which hung all the law and the prophets. He gave us OTHER commandments in the gospel, including the great commission to go into all the world and preach the gospel, healing and doing deliverance in His name. We are also to forgive as He forgave us if we are to be forgiven, and love one another as He loved us.

I think, that David being loved by GOD didn't really have anything to do with being in the blood line of CHRIST,I think it was like Christ,he loved father and Glorified him in 1Samuel15:22.Samuel said,"Has the LORD as much delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices As in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold,to obey is better than sacrifice,And to heed than the fat of rams.He glorified father, loved.

I just wanted to say there are many times I myself have to come back and reread something and see it differently on a different day,I do read the comments of others and it does help me to see or open my mind to the symbology I might not pick up on or have related it to something else, thinking is not a bad thing and I find Alot REACT instead of Stop and Think, some dont C value n this way,GOD BLESS.

I use to wonder about concubines and the many wives then I thought about, Deuteronomy 12:15(KJV)Notwithstanding thou mayest kill and eat flesh in all thy gates, whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, according to the blessing of the LORD thy God which he hath given thee:the unclean and the clean may eat thereof,as of the roebuck and as of the hart.maybe it was ok for whoever he blesses kind of thing.

This is another eye for an eye situation, remember when David had a chance to kill Saul he DIDN'T,he was annoited but he also knew although his FEELINGS wanted to kill him,it wasn't the way, killing someone out of hatred or made up justification got these people no where but death unto themselves, its a huge ripple affect if you think about it,you kill, another kills u,then another kills that person.
