Verse 8: Phineas tolerated no rivalry toward Jehovah God and he took swift action to make sure that the camp of Israel stayed clean. God blessed Phineas for his swift action he took and for not being permissive.

Hi Peter; I want to add to what you wrote. I'm sure it was simply a choice of words; but we resist the devil with the appropriate Scripture, and stand strong and firm and true; and flee from situations of temptations; but we don't run away from the devil, we rebuke him in Jesus' name! He is under our authority in the Lord. I know you know this, but just wanted to emphasize. Remember the Martyrs!

Jehovah God executed judgment against those who spoke against and disrespected his representatives. This shows that we should have respect for ones that Jehovah has placed in authority.

Sometimes we will get angry, but we want to control our anger so that we don't sin by doing or saying something bad. We should try to settle matters as soon as possible.

I think that God was showing Jeremiah even in his on trials going to jail being beat
    that grace still protected him.

concerning the speaking in tongues... Pauls not talking about the cloven tongue. He is talking about teaching in places where the people speak a different language. If you do not know the native tongue in Italy, for example, it would be quite difficult to teach the Bible to the people. That's why Paul says in verse 18 : I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all.....

Peter (cont.); So while the most are looking for some strange event to break in on an otherwise dis-attached world, to usher in THE Antichrist and the most terrible and dreadful heathen beast kingdom to rule the world; they have been unknowingly conditioned to be blind deaf and dumb concerning what is already been for many centuries at work in the world. We're already in the end of days' Dark Age!

Hello Brother Peter; thank you very much; your posts are always uplifting! Do you ever wonder what in the world happened to Christianity, seeing it had such a powerful success in the beginning? Something happened! The beast and the false prophet happened, in the form of Islam; that has relentlessly destroyed the Church for 1400 years and does still to this day. So many are offended and fall away.
  • A disciple on Ezekiel 34 - 9 years ago
Sisters in Christ; You are absolutely right with relating this to Pastors of Churches; but look closely also at whom exactly the LORD is speaking this; and remember the parable of the wicked husbandmen, who murdered the Heir and usurped control of the LORD's vineyard, the House of Israel; in whom you all have been grafted in through faith in Christ. This should open up your understanding to more.

God, not being One of confusion, showed Peter and Cornelius, similar visions at different times and in different locations. He brought the two together and there was a mighty outpouring of the Holy Ghost, followed by water baptism. A lesson here is the power of fasting- both Cornelius and Peter were fasting when they had their visions. A second lesson is to be able to heed God's Word.
  • Peter A. Okebukola on 1 Chronicles 21 - 9 years ago
Satan caused David to err by undertaking an unnecessary census of the Israelites. He saw the grave repercussion. The kind heart of the Lord held up further destruction by the angel. The lesson here is that we should strive to have the Holy Spirit in us so as to resist and flee from the devil. In an event we are overpowered by the devil, we should plead the mercy of God.

What kind of Churches are people going to, that teach their members such things? Since when is reproof and rebuke of someone sowing evil thoughts against the LORD considered the devil's accusations? How do some fancy themselves Believers, and not have the most fundamental fear of God and jealousy of His honor and integrity? But instead, are ready to put to death him who gives a right answer!

"Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings (assarions), and not one of them is forgotten before God? But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows." An assarion was 1/10th of a drachma, and in today's market a Greek drachma is 0.0034165810711665 dollars. Five sparrows was a very poor person's dinner. None is too small to God!

A Nation with NO HEART for the LORD, or to at all be His People; who have only ever been ANTI-Christ and ANTI-faith and ANTI-obedience since the Lord brought them out of the bondage and oppression of Egypt; NOW thinks to get their "Secret Weapon" of God to fight for them? Astonishing presumption and ignorance! And so, what happens? God is not fooled by a hypocritical show, and fornicating priests!

3 I am verily a man which am a Jew, born in Tarsus, a city in Cilicia, yet brought up in this city at the feet of Gamaliel, and taught according to the perfect manner of the law of the fathers, and was zealous toward God, as ye all are this day. 13 For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews' religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it:
  • WG on Daniel 2 - 9 years ago
Daniel is such an incredible book. In chapters 2-4 King Nebuchadnezzar realizes the absolute sovereignty of Daniel's God. Very insightful as God is my master and is sovereign in all of my life. Not just a statement but I want to be ever mindful that nothing happens seemingly for or against me that He does not allow.
