This made me think, after i reread,we go to places such as church and there are people within the congregation, even a pastor, that is there for a profit or title, but even the ones who give offerings/tithes,GOD knows our heart when we give,so if you are putting money in with a poor attitude about it,he will know, the doings of the congregation is also dually noted,we WILL NOT be able to deny it!

Joshua 7 (cont.); In the beginning days of the Church; while EVERYONE was really of one heart knit together, and one accord; a certain Ananias with his wife Saphira, did something very similar to Achan; and lied to the Holy Spirit and to the Brethren. When Peter questioned them about their little scheme, they dropped down dead where they stood! We have to understand how much God hates sin!

Joshua 7 (cont.); The things that were written are for our instruction and warning, that we may be able to stand in this last time, "having done all to stand." In the messages to the Churches in Revelation; Ephesus was apparently doing everything right, except they forgot their First Love! And so because of THAT they were about to be removed as one of the Lord's Lampstands; except they repent!

Vs13 "And the sons of Jacob answered.... deceitfully." Jacob's stated opinion of their actions (Vs30) showed that they had acted against Jacob's character, and that he did not approve of what they had done. They were in rebellion to their Patriarch. And they made a mockery of God's Covenant of Circumcision. Forgiveness was not unheard of even in those days. These later sold Joseph into slavery.

As a minister, I've been asked many times if I pray an hour each day. My reply is, "I may not pray an hour a day, but there is not an hour in the day I do not pray." Praying is communication with our heavenly Father. He wants us to talk with Him and thank Him for the many blessings He has bestowed upon us. If you can't find a certain item, ask Him to open your eyes that you may see it. When you do, give Him thanks. This is having communion with Him. Keep His name on your lips throughout the day and He will hear you. Zephaniah 3:17 says "He rejoices over you with singing." How awesome is this?!!!!!!!

"..Get thee up; wherefore liest thou thus upon thy face? Israel hath sinned, and they have also transgressed my covenant which I commanded them.." The failures of God's people are often automatically put on the Lord for some imagined "Mystery" of His will, why He would let them fall. But see how God answers, and make no mistake; if we fall before our enemies, its because we have sinned!

15 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you 16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

    Read Acts 10:12-14

Acts 10:15 And a voice spoke to him again the second time, "What God has cleansed you must not call common.

Acts 10:28, Then he said to them. "You know how unlawful it it for a Jewish man to keep company with or go to one of another nation. But GOD has shown me that I should not call any man COMMON or UNCLEAN.

1 Corinthians 5:5 To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus. we must pray from brother and sisters in Christ that are fallen. God will take care of all of that. We need to continue to love with all our hearts. Praise the Lord for forgiveness.

We are assured by Jesus' saying in verse 26: These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Repent, to turn from evil and turn to good. Change of heart and mind. Not just saying a person is sorry and continuing on.

Again Christ himself said, Matt. 4:17, Repent for the kingdom of God is at hand. Or if that isn't good enough, keep sinning and enjoy yourself, FOR NOW.
  • Jacquelyne on Deuteronomy 21 - 9 years ago
16 Then it shall be, when he maketh his sons to inherit that which he hath, that he may not make the son of the beloved firstborn before the son of the hated, which is indeed the firstborn: Rightfully Ishmael was the first born from mans choice but GOD said Sarah's womb, wife. GOD's word that is true.

On the other hand, however we may see through a glass darkly, and struggle sometimes with each other to all be sound and confirmed sure in our understanding; isn't it a most profitable exercise for us to talk of the things of the Lord? When one has a little knowledge, and can by the Lord's ability, convey that to his brethren, that's a good thing! We're all LEARNING to be meek and lowly of heart:)

1 John 3:9, He that doth not commit sin is born of God, for his seed remaineth in him and he cannot sin because he is born of God. 1 John 5:18, We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not. But he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one touched him not. And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness. Pretty plain.

Thank You, Steve Morrow! The Lord bless you, and fulfill in you all the desires of your heart; and make you that man after His own heart, that shall fulfill all His will. The things that God has in store for us, He has not let any man see or know from the foundation of the world; But we know this; that He will have a world FULL of people that know Him and love Him, and love one another. Hallelujah
  • Wayne on 1 Corinthians 1 - 9 years ago
Ray 321, if you are continuously sinning, you are still a sinner, not saved by grace. 1 John 3:6, Whosoever abideth in Him sinneth not, Whosoever sinneth, hath not seen neither known Him. V. 8, He that commith sin is of the devil, for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifest, that He might destroy the works of the devil.
  • A disciple on 2 Samuel 11 - 9 years ago
Anne; maybe you've seen these kinds of things; I sure have! Once sin takes hold, and the man changes his whole way of thinking and behavior, there is such a moral spiraling out of control that seems to never take an end; unless of course, the Lord intervenes to send His messenger to convict him; if perchance he might humble himself at the Word, and really repent. David's conversion was a miracle!
  • A disciple on Titus 2 - 9 years ago
Insight; Again, Aren't you reading the Chapters all the way through? or the couple dozen other places where Jesus talks about Hell? The Angels shall go forth and sever the wicked from among the just, and gather them in "bundles to be burned;" that sounds like HURT to me! The bad are going to be thrown away into everlasting punishment wailing and gnashing of teeth. Do you think that won't hurt?
