Verse 2: Jesus sent his disciples forth to preach a message of God's Kingdom. That same message should be preached by Christ's followers today.

Acts 8 clarifies this passage is clearly talking about Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, so in verse 2 it says he had no comeliness that means he wasn't good looking. How often did He talk and no one listen because the people only looked at the outside? Not many focus on that and I still see it today. People believe a good looker, young, with a good body before they believe an elderly person. Sad.

Kevin when the AUTHOR of SIN Satan CHOSE to sin against GOD, He CHOSE BY HIS GRACE to redeem whosoever will. DIVINE LOGIC most of the time doesn't compare to human logic. He declares, HIS WAYS AND THOUGHTS ARE NOT LIKE OURS. If we could figure out every thing he does, he wouldn't be The AWESOME GOD THAT HE IS. Hell wasn't created, It was prepared for Satan

This chapter reminds us of Ps.33:12 "Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord" and Prov. 29:2 "When the righteous are in authority the people rejoice, but when the wicked beareth rule the people mourn".

Kevin Goshe; God made everything perfect and full of beauty, with the intention of very good; nothing is done with some mysterious agenda! That's how the devil thinks! and that's what the devil always uses to slander God! No angel or human was ever without an opportunity to go the right way; and God will be glorified for His righteousness in ALL THINGS, and concerning every creature He has made!

Matt. 23 (cont.); In the present age of gross darkness in the world, and a "church-world" that in most places has little more than a casual acquaintance with the fundamental doctrines of Christ, and what it means to be His Elect in the world; the Lord's flock is perishing for want of knowledge, while their rulers make themselves fat through covetousness and deceit; using the Holy for base gain.
  • Douglas Gilbert Wells on 1 Corinthians 4 - 9 years ago
Man most does not like being corrected at any time. But that is what our Heavenly Father does because love us that much.
  • A disciple on Matthew 23 - 9 years ago
From the day that the Lord Jesus came into this world, the devil's seed was after Him to destroy Him; and throughout His Ministry He was pursued by hateful and hostile hypocrites, who were deaf as an adder, and would never humble themselves to receive His good and wholesome teaching. In the last few days Jesus has come right to Jerusalem to speak to their face, and it cost Him His life. We follow!
  • Wayne on 1 John 1 - 9 years ago
Christians aren't prone to sinning. That's why the begotten Son of God died on the cross. He cancelled sin in spirit and the flesh. Christians are to purify themselves as in 1 John 3: 1-3. 1 John 3: 6 states He that abideth in Him sinneth not, he that sinneth hath not seen Him neither known Him.

  • Wayne on 1 John 3 - 9 years ago
Jesus is the only begotten Son of God! He that commith sin is of the devil. For the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifest that He might destroy the works of the devil.

I give all honor to The Most High............I think Psalms 138 is truly a Godsend, and speaks what we feel in our hearts and prayer life.
  • B. Lever on Isaiah 2 - 9 years ago
Verse 4 gives me such hope it is almost incomprehensible. Today's world is so far off that mark; seems demonic forces are everywhere. Truly only He can make nations abandon war. Peace and Righteousness directly from the Prince of Peace. It can't come soon enough for me.

  • Darrien on Ephesians 6 - 9 years ago
Kevin Goshe, God created Satan to make an example out of him.

The LORD hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil. - Proverbs 16:4 KJV

God wanted to show the consequences of living apart from him. Many times people come back to God after getting into trouble. He gives us a choice to go our own way because love is not possible without free will.
