Annwashi1955; Hebrews 12:2 LOOKING UNTO JESUS! We are taught by the Lord, and all His servants, that we are set to encounter tribulation, temptations, opposition and contradiction, from the world, the flesh, and the devil. The only way for us to walk in constant victory and a good conscience toward God, is by an earnest contending through the Spirit, out of a deeply established heart for Jesus.

Because God's chosen people, the Jews, rejected Christ as the messiah,he opened the the door of salvation to the Gentiles also. We are all one in Christ Jesus,if we believe and are baptized into Christ, according to the plan of salvation, and live our life by his word.Using God's word, as it is written, to govern our lives and guide us,all may experience Christianity and be acceptable.

BSP "He gave the people surrounding Noah plenty of time to get onto the ark.." Oh how well we can identify with that; we have simply to add the years that ARE WRITTEN, to see just how long God gave them. It was 1656 after the Creation, that Noah and his family entered into the Ark. All those years and generations of having the Word of Christ coming, only in the end to abandon the Spirit of God!
  • Linda on Jeremiah 12 - 9 years ago
If Jeremiah was not able to handle the smaller trials in his life, he will not be able to handle the bigger trials for the simple reason. Things starts small and then they grow big. If he was not able to handle the small trials he would struggle in doing the bigger ones. He would need to trust in God to help him deal with the bigger and smaller trials.

BSP (cont.); so then in the light of these things; that their coming to present themselves to God was to give an account ALTOGETHER of themselves; the fact that Cain deliberately left out the one essential "accounting of himself" by the token of a blood sacrifice for faith in the coming Saviour; God said to him, "Why are you wroth, and your countenance fallen? If you do well won't you be ACCEPTED?

BSP; I've thought a lot about this thing with Cain and Abel. Since they were the first generation after their parents were expelled from the Garden; we should expect that the boys knew the whole story very well, from the very "Adam and Eve" themselves! That means they would know what God all said to them, and to the devil; and about the Anointed announced to come through the woman to redeem us.

BSP; what makes you think, that "made in God's image and likeness," doesn't mean we look like Him? Of course we look like Him! The only one who doesn't want men to look like God, is the one who wants himself to sit in the place of God on His throne instead! Man is the replication of God; He is our Father in heaven; and children look like their parents! We shall see Him as He and shall be like Him.
  • A disciple on Jeremiah 12 - 9 years ago
BSP; I don't think Jeremiah was "complaining about smaller trials;" for from the whole tone of the chapter, he is evidently in deep spiritual discussion and prayer with the Lord about the evil condition of the people, and why the wicked are allowed so much room. Remember how God came to talk with Abraham about what was happening in Sodom? The Lord looks for like-minded friends to talk with.
  • Wayne on Psalms 23 - 9 years ago
I think Psalm 23 gives me hope and a feeling of salvation knowing that He is with me and that I should not fear anything that is not good.. John 3:16 also sums things up for me in a nut shell.

Cheryl; The reference to Melchizedek was for the type, of being [apparently] without natural descent; i.e. eternal. The Lord Jesus is the One who agonized in the Garden of Gethsemane, taking upon Himself the unimaginable horror of the world's guilt, as our Substitute; until His sweat was as it were "great drops of blood falling to the ground."

Verse 2: Pharaoh had such disrespect for Jehovah God. God was listening to this haughty and disrespectful attitude and he made sure that Pharaoh acknowledged and knew who he was by the end of the 10 plagues.
  • Sylvia on Psalms 127 - 9 years ago
Heavenly Father Jehovah, search my heart and remove whatever is not pleasing to you. Show me my faults so I can be the servant you want me to be.
Father you are worthy to be praised. Let the Church say Amen.

"And Noah builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar." That which separated the sons of God from the sons of men from the beginning was being of the truth, and the faith in the Anointed coming into the world to make reconciliation to God for him by breaking the serpent's head. In the new world it was to be first!

Verse 15: Joseph's brothers still had a guilty conscience. Making bad decisions can cause us to have a bad conscience many years after the decision has been made.
  • BSP on Genesis 42 - 9 years ago
Verse 38: We can see that the loss of Joseph had long term effects on Jacob's feelings. Imagine those who have lost a child today. Feelings of distress and even depression can last for years.
  • BSP on Genesis 39 - 9 years ago
Verse 3: Potiphar could see that Jehovah God was with Joseph. Others should clearly be able to see the godly qualities of a God fearing man or woman.
  • BSP on Genesis 35 - 9 years ago
Verse 4: Jacob had to make sure he "cleaned house" in regards to the false gods that his family had accumulated.
  • BSP on Genesis 32 - 9 years ago
Verse 26: Jacob was willing to fight for God's blessing. We must be willing to do the same.

Verse 1: Rachel had very strong feelings about having children and not being able to. She felt as if she would die if she could not have children.

Psalm 149 (cont.); This wonderful Psalm not only foretells of the glorious day of eternity we look for; but brings the consciousness of eternity to bear on our purpose and calling in Christ in this present time. For now we walk by faith; we walk by grace reflecting the Glad Tidings of Christ in our hearts, in our thoughts and speech, and our course in life: Christ's authority through us, over all!

Verses 28-30: Esau had sold his birthright earlier to Jacob so when he received the blessing from Isaac, it was rightfully his to receive.

"..To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people; to bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; to execute upon them the judgment written: this honor have all his saints. Praise ye the LORD." THE JOY OF THE LORD IS OUR STRENGTH! Whatsoever we bind on earth, shall be bound in heaven; and whatever we loose on earth, shall be loosed in heaven.
  • BSP on Genesis 24 - 9 years ago
Verse 3: Abraham wanted to make sure his son had a wife who worshipped the same God as he worshipped and not a worldly woman. Abraham was imitating Jehovah God in what he wants for his servants.

"And Joshua said unto the children of Israel, How long are ye slack to go to possess the land, which the LORD God of your fathers hath given you?" In our current age of obsession with selfish pleasures and entertainment, the great feats and character of the Lord's Mighty Men of old, hardly anyone of us is able to identify with in our own lives. But they walked with God in the same world as we do!
  • Sr on Isaiah 58 - 9 years ago
This precept is admonishing all awaken israelites to speak to their fellow brethren and sisters about their forgotten heritage. Jeremiah 17:4 let you know that Jacob children lost their way by sinning against their power. A command from the Heavenly Father is to show those lost sheep how they continue to sin against God. How can one find them? Check out Deuteronomy 28:46 the sign to identify.

Verse 3: Lot showed hospitality to the angels. Lot knew how corrupt the city was and he made sure he took the angles into his house to provide for them and to protect them.

"..And the land was subdued before them." Israel entering into the Promised Land, and subduing the Nations which the LORD had judged to be utterly taken away; was meant for the good of the world, and the benefit of all men. The coming eternal reign of our Lord Jesus Christ, and all dominion given to the Saints; shall make the earth to "ring again" as the earth is filled with the glory of the LORD!
  • BSP on Genesis 16 - 9 years ago
Verse 4: Hagar began to show disrespect towards Sarah. When we receive a privilege or good happens to us, we want to continue to show respect to other people and not look down on anyone.
