I don't understand in Judge 11:37-40 .What she meant by bewail my virginity two months in the mountain. and what did it mean when it said the daughters of Israel lament the daughters of Jephthah.
  • A disciple on Matthew 20 - 9 years ago
The story of the laborers in the vineyard teaches us, that the Lord who hired all the workers told everyone that whatever is right they shall receive, and agreed for a day's wages for going to work. The men that could only come to work for one hour, all still got a day's wages; which was paid out of the Lord's own money, and had nothing to do with the agreement He made with everyone else.
  • Ray321 on 2 Corinthians 3 - 9 years ago
Genesis 17:9 And God said unto Abraham, Thou shalt keep my covenant therefore, thou, and thy seed after thee in their generations. Israel will have a new covenant , that will be in there New Heart written so they don't forget. That is God's promise for Israel, the Kingdom of Heaven.

Haley; meat doesn't always necessarily refer to flesh: in the old English it was often used for food in general. For the Hebrews to eat food and drink wine from the Gentiles; which was not sanctified by the priest to be kosher; was prohibited because of the sign of the law and the covenant to be separated and holy unto the LORD. The dietary laws were for teaching the coming new things in Christ.

Well, we read it like this: a real man or woman of God will not trivialize any part of what it means to be saved, or how one gets saved. The Holy Spirit uses holy Saints to convict the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment. God commands all men everywhere to repent and believe the Gospel. Men of the world posing as Christian Pastors and Teachers water down the words of God to please men!

Ray (cont.); The guilt we feel if we sin, is a warning from God of imminent doom, because we did evil. Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the desires of the flesh. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. There is every provision given us in Christ, to walk and be holy, and to grow into the image of our Father in heaven, and never stumble! Read 2 Peter 1. There is our only assurance!
  • A disciple on Philippians 1 - 9 years ago
There are plenty of examples in the New Testament about the need to continue in the grace of God and the need to hold fast that which we have that we lose not the things we have wrought. Look at Ephesus for example; first and chief of the seven chosen from Asia: yet with all their great success they were in danger of their Candlestick being removed out of its place for forgetting their First Love!
  • A disciple on Philippians 1 - 9 years ago
Ray; sorry brother, you're wrong about that one. We have to continue on firm and steadfast, and not let slip away from our heart and mind the things we have wrought in the Lord. As long as we wake up each day in this present evil world, we will need to work out our salvation with fear and trembling, with earnest striving and diligence, about the business of the Glad Tidings, and the time at hand!
  • Ray321 on 1 Timothy 4 - 9 years ago
This chapter sounds like today. Lest and lest people are getting married. 1 Corinthians 7:2 Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband. It better to marry then to burn Paul said.
  • Ray321 on 1 Timothy 3 - 9 years ago
God gave Paul a mystery. 1 Timothy 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. No body new anything about manifest in the flesh until Paul wrote it in his epistles. Paul also started churches with Bishop and Deacons. Amen to .

Verse 11: Daniel refused to compromise in his worship even though it could mean his life. He chose to obey God rather than men.
  • Ray321 on 1 Timothy 1 - 9 years ago
1 Timothy 1:1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the commandment of God our Saviour, and Lord Jesus Christ, which is our hope. How important is Paul to us in the Bible? The scriptures will tell us how important Paul is to the Gentiles. Paul is our Apostle for today.

Verse 4: She did not want to be pressured into courting or loving someone. She wanted these feelings to come naturally and at the right time.

Sharron Pettis (cont.); As we read through the Prophets, the Psalms, the Gospels and Epistles, the Book of Revelation; one thing is impossible to mistake; and that is, that we are to set to meet with and endure much; as the transgressors come to the full, and all restraint is taken away from before the ungodly; and that these things are necessary; till Jesus returns. We need grace to persevere!
  • A disciple on 1 Thessalonians 4 - 9 years ago
Dear Sharron Pettis; I think there is a lot of 'unnecessary' misunderstanding about the Day of the LORD, and the Catching Away of the Saints. We have been told abundantly by the Lord, that we are appointed to tribulation and trial while we are here, till He comes. For us it is a mark of son-ship that we may be changed into our Father's image and likeness. For the ungodly it is a foretaste of hell.
  • BSP on Psalms 26 - 9 years ago
Since each of us have inherited sin and imperfection, we should ask God to examine us and help us to see where we need to make improvements so that we can have his approval and blessing.
  • A disciple on Psalms 22 - 9 years ago
Mr. Diffin; I have answered you directly, but you didn't hear: but since you might also not understand the answer, I'll try again. It is not, as you say, "changing" the Word, but a rendering in translation. You may have some experience with learning a foreign language: do you know then, that there are some things that cannot be "word for word" but must convey the idea? For this we need the Spirit!
  • Ray321 on Philippians 1 - 9 years ago
1 Samuel 16:14 But the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD troubled him. Back in the old testament a man of God can loose the Holy Spirit if he sins, but now that Jesus died and finished on the cross, a saved born again child of God will never loose the Holy Spirit. A saved person that sins will grieve the Holy Spirit, it's still there inside. Love Jesus
  • Ray321 on Ephesians 1 - 9 years ago
27 And as they were going down to the end of the city, Samuel said to Saul, Bid the servant pass on before us, and he passed on , but stand thou still a while, that I may shew thee the word of God. If Jesus is the Word, that means Salvation is in the Word. 1 Corinth 15:1-4 Believe only his Word for Salvation. Glory be to God for his only begotten Son that died for our sins and rose from the dead

In Context Full Chapter Other Translations 1 John 5:8 And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one. Verse 1: God views those who do not believe in him as fools. Such ones can become corrupt and have detestable actions.
