Verse 25: People should be able to see that God is really with true Christians by their words and actions. Those who have God's approval will display godly qualities.

"The LORD bringeth the counsel of the heathen to nought: he maketh the devices of the people of none effect." The world is full of voices, all kinds of voices longing to be heard, all pushing each other out of the way so they can have the microphone! All who are of the truth hear Jesus' voice, and follow Him. The spirit that makes men heathen strives for a world with everything INSTEAD OF CHRIST!

To Irene from 3 months ago, Jeremiah 6; All of the churches were "salvageable" otherwise the Lord wouldn't have sent to speak to them to repent! Ephesus was in danger of being removed altogether of her place even as a Lampstand for the Lord because they forgot their first love! So what good then will be all their activities? Laodicea was rich in this world, luke warm, stupid and blind spiritually.

"They have healed also the hurt of the daughter of my people *slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace." - Slightly - Hebrew; qalal' - a prim. root; to be (caus. make) light; lit. (swift, small, sharp, etc.) or fig. (easy, trifling, vile, etc.) - abate, make bright, bring into contempt, (ac) curse, despise, (the) ease (-y; -ier); to make or esteem lightly, etc. How do you read this?

  • BSP on 1 John 3 - 9 years ago
Verses 17 and 18: If we have the ability to help others out and yet we fail to do so because of greed or indifference, how can we say that we love God? We need to love not only in word, but show that love by our actions.

In verse 5, it says that king Nebuchadnezzar gave the Israelites his meat to eat and his wine to drink. I understand why the meat was a big deal but I do not understand why the wine was. If someone could explain that to me I would greatly appreciate it.

I just noticed how God called to brothers. Simon and Andrew were brothers and James and John were brothers. I can see God creating a deeper love when It involves family. Maybe even an ability to sustain a follower if there family is also involved. Amazing food for thought.

Verse 17 is an open invitation to all the poor and the needy who seek water, who are thirsty, maybe thirsty for natural water, the Lord says "I the LORD will hear them, I the God of Israel will not forsake them" This verse gives me life it restores my soul each time I read it. It truly sanctifies me. Thank you Jesus for your faithfulness. Your Word makes me whole, Father and I bless your name!
  • Peter A. Okebukola on John 20 - 9 years ago
Thank you Jesus for sacrificing for my sin. Jesus appeared several times to those who were present at the time of his death especially His disciples and Mother. He will appear to us all during His second coming and all eyes shall see Him. Verse 31: "that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name." Praise be to His Holy Name.
  • Peter A. Okebukola on 2 Kings 11 - 9 years ago
God has willed that Jehoash will be king at age 7, the antics of Athaliah notwithstanding. She got what she deserved after ordering the killing of innocent people because of her ambition for her son to be king. The lesson for us is not to assume the place of God (play God). Let God's will be done all the time.
  • A disciple on Psalms 90 - 9 years ago
"..we spend our years as a tale..So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom." The one thing that we all seem to most readily slip away from, when studying the things of the Lord, is the fact of our present existence; as if reality was only true in our minds by faith. This prayer of Moses is very deep, and worth much time to understand; esp. as it goes before Psalm 91.

    V. 6, Whosoever abideth in Him sinneth not, whosoever sinneth hath not seen Him neither known Him.
  • Ray321 on 2 Corinthians 11 - 9 years ago
Wow Apostle Paul labored more then anybody in the Lord. 2 Corinthians 11:23 Are they ministers of Christ? I speak as a fool I am more in labours more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent, in deaths oft. Jesus suffer the cross, Paul suffer beheaded. Wow, that is unbelievable how they suffered. There is a friend that sticked closer then a brother, that's Jesus.
  • Ray321 on 2 Corinthians 10 - 9 years ago
Paul is always writing to saved believers, mostly Gentiles. Peter wrote to Jewish believers in his epistles. John wrote to Jewish believers in his epistles. Every book in the Bible was written for a reason, but it all end up at the cross of Jesus Christ. The Bible, before the cross and after the cross, finally we have Salvation thru Jesus Christ our Lord by his finished works. Amen
