Adam is a name; it's like all other names - it has a meaning; Irene means 'peace'. ALL Bible names have their meaning; look them up; Jehovah means Savior - as does Jesus. "And His name shall be called Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins."

V. 2 - there is NOTHING in God's word that is common, ordinary, with no particular meaning. It all;, O.T.

To sit at the 'table' with Jesus - is to 'eat' (absorb) His word as we gather together, Heb. 10:25. And, no, they weren't just having an ordinary meal, just a 'social'; not with Jesus present.

V. 33 - " ... thou being a man ... "; my question is - they saw His works, they heard Him quote from ALL the Law and Prophets, and they agreed He was unlearned. So, who or 'what' were they looking for to be the Messiah? They also said - never man spake like this man. V. 21 - A lot of people believe Jesus healed then and He heals today, but that does not mean they 'follow' Him. To follow Jesus you follow Acts 2:38, " ... seek ye first ... ", Matt. 6:33. The Kingdom of Heaven is found in Acts 2:38. That's where a Christian life begins.

V. 9 - being pricked in their conscience; I wonder, did any one of them think even further and maybe turn to Jesus ..... ? Or maybe, if they mentioned such a thing, their peers talked them out of it: "but think of the prestige of men you will lose ... " and etc. Just as we are today.

Jn. 7:16; Matt. 10:19 - Jesus was our example. We are to be filled with His spirit, Acts2:38, just as Jesus, except Jesus was God; God lived in the body of Jesus. That's the only way God could shed PERFECT blood for mankind, not blood of animals. God had to provide Himself a sinless body. 'Jesus was in the MIND of God before the incarnation; God knew He was going to do this before creation.

Jesus is now in Heaven at the right hand of The Father.He sent His Spirit to guide us, give us comfort. He gives His Spirit to all who are Washed by The Blood of The Lamb! Jesus cannot be everywhere at one time He have a Body like us, His Spirit can.The Spirit wil be everywhere all at one Time. He will teach and guide us. At the time of Jesus - there were spurious writings of the Jews besides the word of God - the O.T. The Jews, during the 400 yrs. between testaments, wrote some strange things, and this is where some things in the Jewish almanac come from; they are not the word of God. Jesus told the Pharisees that they taught the traditions of - men.

V. 63 - "It is the spirit ..."; Jesus is saying, we need the Holy Ghost (spirit) in us , just as He had in His body, so that the spirit can 'quicken' (convict with the life of the spirit) hearts of sinners to see their need of repentance. The body without the spirit - can do nothing for a sinner. Nor for the person witnessing without the spirit; it is the spirit that quickens.

"And needed not that any should testify of man ... "; Jesus was speaking of His physical body, the man and not the Spirit of God in Him. He knew there were people that would proclaim the 'man' Jesus only and leave out the Spirit of God - just as they do with 'great evangelists' today.

There ARE 'prophets now; ANYONE at all who speaks of Jesus to anyone, is 'prophesying' - the same way John the Baptist did. That's all he did, was speak of Jesus. There are hundreds upon hundreds of prophets today. And John was sent also to baptize, but he 'witnessed' (prophesied of why he was baptizing). A witness of Jesus is prophesying of Him.

Thus; (through the idea of down cast eyes) bashfulness [toward men], and modesty or [toward God] awe. Reverence, shamefacedness. Quite a terrible thought (sarcasm) for a "Western" girl! But for a Christian woman, grace and virtue!

These word's are very powerful to me ,i stand on his promises. God is good and greatly to be praised. When I move into any place are home .I speak 91st psalm.

True TRUE heartfelt repentance will 'break up the roof' of unbelief in one's life and our prayers will SOAR to God on the angels wings. But, you have to 'break up the roof' with a sincere heart. God knows our hearts.

John the baptist baptized Jesus because it was Jesus PLAN. WHATEVER Jesus said or did was for OUR example, to follow. John baptized unto repentance - without using the name of Jesus - as in Acts 2:38. John's baptism was to prepare hearts for being baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins. The name was not revealed for baptism until Acts 2:38.
