Yes, we do disagree on this, but it is always nice to speak with you. You have always shown respect, and I have much respect for you also. I understand the phrase "Son of God" as a title just the same as I understand "Son of Man" also being a title. One thing I notice is that John never refers to Jesus as TEKNON. And as far as I know, Jesus is never called a TEKNON in the bible. He is referred to as a HUOIS, one who inherits all things from the Father. I think we both agree that once we are born of God's Spirit, we become joint heirs with Christ. In other words, we are co-inheritors.
I thank you for sharing your understanding of 1 John 2:23. Please allow me to also share my understanding. From what I have read and studied over the years, they had problems back then about people believing in God the Father, but not believing in the deity of Jesus Christ.
Jesus said in John 5:23 that all men should honor the Son, even as they honor the Father. He that honors not the Son honors not the Father which has sent Him. In John Chapter 5, Jesus said that all authority has been conveyed to Him. He is to judge all people. And He is to be honored equal to the Father. Most religions will believe in a god and might even call him father. But they will not believe that Jesus Christ is equal.
The person that denies the Father (and the Son), whosoever denies the Son, the same does not have the Father. Jesus said in John 10:30 (the chapter about the sheepfold), He said I and my Father are one. To me, this says that we can't have one without the other. I think the main disagreement we have is whether or not Jesus is God, which I firmly believe He is.

The Holy Spirit does not bear witness with our spirit that we are the "worms" of God. No, He encourages us when we are in times of weakness and trembling, and in spite of all our failure says that we are the children of God.
A remarkable thing is stated in the following verse:
For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. ( Romans 8:15)
The word Abba is an untranslated Aramaic word. The translators of the first English Bibles, who had great reverence for the Word of God, who believed it was indeed the Word of God, would not translate it. Abba is a very personal word that could be translated "my Daddy." We don't use this word in reference to God because of the danger of becoming overly familiar with Him. But the Spirit affirms it and causes us to realize that God is our very own Father through regeneration and by adoption.
There is an experience of salvation for the child of God that he does not have to seek. It will come, for it is impossible for the Holy Spirit to regenerate a sinner and for Christ to dwell in the heart and there not be a corresponding experience.
Do not look for an experience! Do not probe your feelings! Do not use psychoanalysis! Believe God! Take Him at His Word! Trust His faithfulness! "Let God be true, but every man a liar" ( Romans 3:4). Christ says, "Him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out" ( John 6:37). Will you come?
He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. (1 John 5:12)

God is offering eternal life - everlasting life - to those who believe in Christ. It is not temporary or uncertain. It is not paid for on the installment plan. It is a gift the moment one believes, but for longer than a moment - for eternity.
You may or you may not have the assurance of this salvation that God offers as everlasting life. An anomalous situation exists today. Some Christians believe in the security of the believer but do not themselves have the assurance of their salvation; "My brethren, these things ought not so to be" ( James 3:10), but they do exist.
God wants you to know that you are His child through faith in Jesus Christ:
But as many as received him, to them gave he power [the right] to become the children of God, even to them that believe on his name; who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. ( John 1:12, 13)
It is not honoring to Him for you to have misgivings, doubts, and a lack of assurance. "Maybe" and "perhaps" should not be in the vocabulary of a born-again Christian when the matter of salvation is the subject. It is not a "hope so" but a "know so" salvation that God offers. It is always described as everlasting or eternal life; it is not temporary or conditional. Listen to God and be assured:
He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God, that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. 1 John 5:12-13
Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. Hebrews 10:22.
This is not the language of uncertainty. There is a remarkable passage in this connection expressed in Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness, quietness and assurance forever.

Eternal security is an objective fact; assurance of salvation is a subjective experience.
Eternal security is not in the realm of experience, and therefore is totally independent of a person's feelings; assurance of salvation is truly an experience - an inner consciousness and confidence that a right relationship exists between the soul and God.
Eternal security rests upon certain objective facts that are established and sure; it depends upon God's faithfulness. A simple illustration will clarify this point. The Battle of Bunker Hill is a fact in American history. You and I did not experience the Battle of Bunker Hill, and our feelings are, therefore, no guide to the accuracy of history concerning it.
Eternal security rests upon what God says!
He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. (1 John 5:12)
The most wonderful statement in the Bible (or out of the Bible, for that matter) is Romans 8:1 -
There is, therefore, now no condemnation to them who are in Christ Jesus..
In conjunction with this verse are verses 33 and 34 of the same chapter:
Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? Shall God that justifieth? Who is he that condemneth? Shall Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us?
The throne of God is behind every sinner who has trusted in Jesus. Christ's work of redemption is adequate enough to secure the perfect salvation for the sinner who trusts Him. If not, then the work of Christ was of no avail, and it was not a finished transaction but must be written down as "unfinished business." However, He, as it were, wrote over His cross, "It is finished" ( John 19:30).

Salvation is in a person! Our Lord Jesus Christ!
If you have Christ you have ( Eternal ) life.
That's what Christ is offering! (Eternal life!)
If you truly accepted Christ as savior you have Salvation "Eternal life".

Part 1.
Can we know experientially that we are saved and that we are the children of God? For years, my soul was tossed on the troubled sea of uncertainty and insecurity. Finally, there dawned upon my darkened mind the light of Philippians 1:6 -
Being confident of this very thing, that he who hath begun a good work in you will perform [perfect] it until the day of Jesus Christ.
It was then that the sun of Scripture rose with many shafts of light and penetrated the dark recesses of fears and doubts. I pray that I may be given wisdom and power to convey to your fearful heart the assurance of your salvation, if it is not already your present possession. For those who have experienced the assurance of salvation, perhaps these few words will stabilize and strengthen the fabric of your faith. Assurance is your rightful possession, and God wants you to have it as your portion.
First of all, we need to distinguish between one's eternal security and his assurance of salvation. The line of demarcation must be clearly drawn if we are to enter experientially into the joy of salvation.

( Eternal ) Salvation.
John 5:3 - In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water.
From the word "waiting," all the way through to the end of Verse 4, those sections of scriptures are not found in some manuscripts.
But it is with the Textus Receptus for the King James. It tells us what they were waiting for. So, you have all these different people, waiting for the moving of the water.
John 5:10 - The Jews therefore said unto him that was cured, It is the sabbath day: it is not lawful for thee to carry thy bed.
This is just general information, but whenever you see the term "the Jews" plural in the text, it is not making reference to Jewish people, but Jewish leadership. The Jews were the leadership of the Jews, plural term. The Jews said to him, it is the Sabbath day: it is not lawful for thee to carry your bed.
John 5:18 - Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.
Again, the term "the Jews" means the religious leaders.
John 6:1 - After these things Jesus went over the sea of Galilee, which is the sea of Tiberias.
Again, it starts out with META TOUTA. After these things, (the things of Chapter 5), right afterwards, we have the succession of events.
John 6:7 - Philip answered him, Two hundred pennyworth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may take a little.
Philip answered him, Two hundred pennyworth, two hundred DENARII (two hundred days wages) of bread is not sufficient for them that every one of them may take a little.
So even if we had 200 days wages and purchased bread and gave everybody one piece, there wouldn't be enough.
John 4:48 - Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe.
Notice the "ye" in the text? It denotes plural, not just you, but everybody else that comes up to me, they come up to me because they see the signs, and you won't believe unless you see signs. And so, the nobleman's going to tell Him "Well that's probably true, but if you come down, you can heal him. So, Jesus sees that he is still not going to understand that the Lord can just speak the word. Jesus doesn't need to be there!
John 5:1 - After this there was a feast of the Jews; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
Period of time:
It begins by saying "After this," META TOUTA in the Greek, and it means right after the incidents of Chapter 4, that there was a feast of the Jews; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
Some manuscripts have "The Feast" of the Jews, meaning that it is Passover. Anyways, Jesus went up to Jerusalem. It was one of the three feasts that all Jewish males 20 and over were required to be at when these feasts are held in Jerusalem every year. So, Jesus goes up to Jerusalem at the feast.
John 5:2 - Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches.
Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market, and in the Greek text is literally the sheep gate, and they are keeping the sheep in there for the Passover sacrifice. But anyway, near this sheep gate is a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches.
Bethesda means house of mercy. It plays a big part. John does not put in things just to give us information. It all has a part in the story and in the message.
See,the Abomination of Desolation is linked to the last week,the last 7 years of this world of Devil in which we are living,but we are not of it,we are of the next to be established by our GOD for a millenniun,as JESUS said( Luke 20:35-36 combined with Revelation 11:15-18,among many biblical references)

"For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, Nor from the south. But God is the judge: He putteth down one, and setteth up another."
"And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them." The great White throne (20:11) is not what the visions of Ezekiel or Isaiah indicate. The sapphire the emerald above the throne in heaven carry significance for the events set in its context. These form the part of books Moses and other prophets of old referred. This white colour calls for another book which is the book of life. So significance of the colours are to be according to the manner the Spirit has invested in stones and are to be spiritually understood.
For example Mount Harmon covered with snow sets the Psalmist to pen this Psalm 133:3 "As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the Lord commanded the blessing, even life for evermore."The blessings refer to the anointing of the oil upon the head of Aaron the high priest." The two ouches of onyx in gold on the two shoulders makes a triangle an icon for the mountain of God. Thus Aaron stands hyphenated with the Son whom God has designated forever, "The Lord hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek."(Ps.110:4) the gold onyx and the amber colour or bdellium rounds off the iconography of Jesus Christ, as the Son over his own house. It is thus we compare the stones in the breastplate and with the stones the 12 foundations of the holy city of God. No longer the old but new heaven and the new earth creating the light of the Lamb. It is what the great white throne symbolises. John 5:22

Hello Everett and welcome to this Site. You're certainly doing the right thing by contributing to our discussions & hope to hear more from you; and speaking for myself, I do enjoy reading other people's perceptions that they receive from God's Holy Word.
Yes, we do see the triune aspect of man in the Bible as we also see of the LORD God, yet we acknowledge that we don't fully comprehend the mystery of such natures. We can certainly overlook our proper understanding/division of man's soul & spirit & just leave that it in God's Hands, but when it comes to God's Nature, we really need to get it right, for so much of Who God is, His Love, His Mercy towards sinners and Saving Work in the lives of men, depend on it.
As you thought of 1 Thessalonians 5:23-28 observing the three-part nature of man & this aspect revealed of the LORD God, my mind turned to 1 John 5:6-8:
"This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth. For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one". Onto Page 2.
Lest we forget that Jesus is God manifested in the flesh-as you stated in a previous post, He is the Divine Son of God. He has both a divine nature and a human nature, but is only one person, the divine Son who is God. As God, He cannot be tempted by sin nor ever commit sin. But in His human nature He could be tempted by sin as Heb 4:15 says. However, sin He has no sin nature like us, all temptations to sin come from outside of Himself. Although He was indeed tempted daily by sin, His divinity did not allow Him to give into sin because the divinity of Jesus could not sin and the divinity and humanity of Jesus are two natures united in the one Person of the Divine Son of God.
In the wilderness, the devil did tempt Jesus repeatedly trying to get Him to sin in both His divinity and humanity. One of the things Jesus said to the devil in Luke 4:12 was that thou shall not tempt the Lord your God, both identifying himself as the God mentioned in the OT quotation Deut. 6:16 and He was telling the devil that He, Himself was the Lord HIS God. Jesus was God over the devil. He is God over every creature He created and that the devil was sinning against God when He tempted Jesus.
The humanity of Jesus was indeed tested, but in His humanity and in His divinity, He always obeyed the Father because the fullness of God dwelled in the incarnated humanity of the divine Son, Jesus. Jesus said that He and the Father are one and if You have seen Jesus you have seen the Father. Also He said that He, Jesus was to be honored just as the Father is honored, meaning they are equally God and share the same glory and deserve the same honor as God. ( John 10:30; John 14:19: John 5:23)
Jesus' humanity was filled with the Spirit without measure, His divinity had all the fullness of the Father and the Spirit as the divine Son in unity of the Godhead. No human is like that and every mere human has a sinful nature (not Jesus) and can still will to sin even with the fullness of the Spirit
I can finally get back to posting Scriptures you can review concerning aspects of ho God is unique. Our remodel is getting done day by day, but it does take up our time along with caring for little Rosie to give mom Vivian breaks throughout the day.
I would like to begin with Sef-Existence, as God is unique in this manner:
Exodus 3:14- God tells Moses that He is 'I Am Who I Am' (Inn Hebrew a word derived from 'to be" This self-existence in part of God's 'aseity' (a theological term you can look up to understand it better)
In John 5:26, Jesus says that the Father and He, Himself, have self-existence. They both have this Divine aseity.
For Simplicity, this is a doctrine implied from Scripture as a whole when considering all of what God has said concerning Himself.
This doctrine says that God is not 'made up' of differing parts, components, attributes, class of deity, or anything else that we as humans have a variety of both physical and spiritual parts that God designed in us to make us a whole human being.
If God was made of matter or any physical component, He would not be divine, but a creature who was designed by whomever/whatever put these parts together in him to make Him complete. Therefore, He does not have a body, blood, flesh as creatures have. God is also not composed of spiritual parts such as attributes, eternality, life, etc. because if these parts are necessary for God to be Divine, then either someone/something else created the parts and put them together to make God divine OR before God was He collected or created all these aspects of His Being and appropriated them to become God, which is an impossibility (nonexistence cannot make anything exist, but God who exists can make things from exnihilo (non-existence to existent components). The other explanations err too, in that if God needed components outside of Himself to be divine, then these parts or the one who created them would be God alongside or even be higher than God.
Luke 17:20-25
20 And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of GOD should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of GOD cometh not with observation:
21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of GOD is within you.

Trinity is not only God having three distinct personalities but also serve as the Word which Jesus demonstrate here with works. "Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works."(v.10)
In Psalm we have it and its practical application. " He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions."(Ps.107:20). In Bethesda Jesus told the man with palsy, "Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk./And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked." ( John 5:8-9) Before the worlds began he sent forth his word (Is.55:11). The same word Jesus proves at specific time and place works. When John in his Gospel speaks of the Word becoming flesh it is validation of Jesus as the Logos. The Word was God. ( John 1:1-2) So trinity has "our image" in the manner man has body, soul and spirit. All three work as one. While the Word is a sound it is a sign also. Since Jesus Christ serves as a sign from heaven, the same word of God can present as sign as Isaiah refers to him and his children as signs and wonders. (Is.8:18)
The same word in us as a seed is what the breath of God in us signifies. It is truth and it sanctifies us. that can only be by faith. It is what Jesus was driving at in this short colloquy with Philip. The words that Jesus spoke were those of his Father and he made them work. So Jesus commands the man with palsy and he was healed.
Man is created "After our image" so the bread from heaven and the word in us albeit as a seed holds similitude. Principle of Similitude sets heaven and earth on a single standard. The upper and lower in a millstone holds true. "And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone." (Re.18:21)
1:1 The heaven and the earth, two worlds framed by the Word which is God. we have been called blessing #1
1:2 "And the earth was without form, and void". We were entered in the book . "and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them."(Ps.139:16)
The Spirit of God working on 'the waters' implies 'Darkness as a cloak in which God dwells.' It gave us an understanding'. In Job we read it is compared to a "swaddling band' meaning God possessed our upkeep as though we were infants. The lack of it is mentioned in Ez.16:4 ( Job 38:9)
1:3-5 first day God separated light from darkness and set us for inheritance in light in Christ. This blessing #1 is added to us being part of the kingdom of his dear Son. Blessing is counted as the first day.
1:6-8 Blessing known as the second day: waters above the firmament is called mercy while waters below is called the grace. In his earthly ministry Jesus defined it thus, "My father worketh hitherto, and I work." ( John 5:17; Lam.3:22-23) We were called in the beginning in his Son and are kept by the grace of God.
1:9-13 The worlds framed by the word of God is the kingdom of God where the world made to appear has the dry land and the seas. The Earth abides forever because the world is called the kingdom of his dear Son.(Ec.1:4; Col.1:13). The command number Three applies to the Son. The day Three is a blessing. "And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas." Holy is his name. We are urged to be holy. "According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:"(Ep.1:4)
Trees of righteousness in vv.11-12, "and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself" refer to the word of God which is truth and it sanctifies us. "Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth."( John 17:17)
Philippians 2:6 Christ being in the FORM of God, thought it not robbery to be EQUAL with God.
We are the IMAGE of God, NOT the FATHER GOD, we are heirs of our Father, as Christ is heir.
We INHERIT Son ship, being made ONE FLESH by the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
John 5:18 Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he had not only BROKEN the Sabbath, but said that God was his FATHER, making him EQUAL with God.

1 John 5:20 also speaks of us coming to the truth (God) and that we come to Truth (God) in Jesus.

Ps 33:4 speaks of all of God's works are done in faithfulness and that all of His words are upright.
Mt. 22:16 speaks of Jesus as true and that He speaks what is true.
Rev. 21:5 says that the words spoken by God (Jesus) are trustworthy and true.
Rev. 19:11 says that Jesus is named Faithful and True.
We can trust as true all that God has chosen to be written in Scriptures because He is faithful and true in every way: in what he says, does and in Who He is. He will never lie or deceive us, never change from being righteous and true to being sinful and evil. He is forever our source of truth and He grants us to be enlightened by the Truth of Himself.
What I know is that the four riders of Apocalypse, one of GOD and three of the Devil, they are already running /walking with their powers that are reflected in whole world.
It is up to the believing followers of JESUS to identify who the four horsemen of the Apocalypse are,
the rider of the white horse is Michael( Daniel 12:1-3 combined with 1Thessalonians 4:16),
and the rider of the red horse in my view is Trump,
but who is the rider of the black horse?
And the pale horse, who is the rider whose NAME is called Death, and Hell follow with him? Is not he the MAN of sin, son of perdition, who will manifest himself very soon as the messiah of the Jews ( John 5:43-47 combined with Revelation 13:11-18) even now, in the last week, week 70th Daniel 9:27 combined with 2Thessalonians 2:3-4 and 9-12, as soon as be elected the next and last Pope? As is written, Power will be given UNTO THEM over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the ruthless beasts of the earth?

We all have inside us, a sinful nature from the first Adam, we also have a conscience, the knowledge of good and evil, and the knowledge of God. We first see this when Adam and Eve hid themselves because they were naked. We see some go so far into the darkness that their conscience can be seared, the conscience no longer tells them good from evil, 1 Timothy 4:2. There is a point where God turns them over to a reprobate mind, Romans 1:28-32.
I believe there will be those who enter eternity who have never heard the gospel, and those who lived before Jesus first came because we have a loving and just God.
Romans 2:11-16 For there is no respect of persons with God. 12 For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law; 13 (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified. 14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: 15 Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;) 16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.
My understanding is this will happen at the great white throne judgment, Revelation 20:11-15, in this it says, "And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire". If some were not found in the Book of Life means some were found in it. I know many may not agree but if we consider verses like Daniel 12:2 Matthew 25:31-46 John 5:28-29 to me these also point to this white throne judgment.
I am sure our loving and just God communicates with those who have not had a chance to read or hear Scripture, I believe the blood of Christ will cover them as well.

The judgment seat is called the bema in the Greek.
2 Corinthians 5:10, "FOR WE must all appear before the JUDGMENT SEAT OF CHRIST; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be (GOOD OR BAD).
Notice what's in caps.
1) Paul adds himself to the group that must appear.
(THIS JUDGMENT IS FOR BELIEVERS ONLY)
2) Paul says, "that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be (GOOD OR BAD). This judgment is for REWARDS for the believers, NOT a judgment for salvation. John 5:24 reads Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and SHALL NOT COME INTO CONDEMNATION; but is passed from death unto life.
This is NOT the GREAT WHITE THRONE JUDGMENT. That will be the final judgment of the wicked prior to their being cast into the lake of fire ( Revelation 20:11-15). The Great White Throne will be unbelievers.

The material used in this portion of scripture speaks of the source behind our works performed.
Those who build with gold, silver, precious stones, their work will abide and be refined. This group is moved by the Holyspirit.
Those who build with wood, hay, stubble; this group works will be consumed by fire. This group wasn't led by the Spirit, but by the flesh.

Jesse, please don't take this wrong I care, and I am trying to understand. I have read your posts on Matthew and some of it is helpful, but I do not agree with your understanding of the meaning you give on some of the Greek words.
In Matthew 16:16 you are saying when Peter told Jesus He is the Son of the living God Peter is confessing to Jesus, that He is the Messiah and He is God. You also say Son of the Living God is a title of God, sorry I don't agree with that. I understand you and probably most on this site believe in a triune God and that Jesus is God, I am sorry, but a title did not die for my sins.
God cannot be the Messiah, if we deny Jesus is the Christ/Messiah we are a liar and an antichrist. The one who does that also denies the Father and the Son, 1 John 2:22.
The heart and truth of the gospel is Jesus is the only begotten Son of God, a man born of a virgin whose Father is God conceived by the Holy Ghost with flesh and blood who God the Father sent, John 3:16. Who became the Messiah when He was anointed with the Holy Ghost after John the Baptise baptized Him. He died for our sins, and we are to confess Him and believe He is the Son of God, 1 John 4:15 1 John 5:10. In the Son of God Jesus is our faith and the only hope of salvation. Jesus is the one Moses spoke of Deuteronomy 18:15

You are right, the word "even" doesn't appear in the grk text. As you said it was probably used to emphasize Jesus' person.
The grk says:
