Been there. Used to put a lot of pressure on myself. Make a list. Begin the first task. Finish always at 10.30 pm and then go to sleep. Use the first hour of early waking to the sun, exercise lightly stretch read a chapter of the Bible pray then super speed with joy into work. Never but never stay up as that work is rubbish quality anyway. Read the Bible, pray, then sleep - the Bible shifts thinking to release.. Always always, 'let go' and let the task be joyful... and thank God from your heart, for the opportunity. If you rejoice in your labour - there will be the reward and your mental health will right itself. The Bible is the answer to your prayer.... and yeah I learnt the hard way. Full blown depression in my 30s ... may you make right patterns now.

Hello DSCY222. I totally agree. There are many things revealed or taught to us in God's Word, but not everything read or learned gives us a conclusive, no-argument answer. I think we are allowed to remain in some ignorance; this 'unfortunate' state causing us to search more deeply and wait much longer for the Holy Spirit's Guidance towards the Truth. Though there are Truths we need to be firm on, and this concerns clear teachings given to us on the Doctrines of God, His Son, His Spirit and His Salvation. If we're unsure or confused here, then almost everything concerning our Christian belief and experience can become haphazard & we veer off in tangents, leading us further away from foundational Truth clearly set before us. Blessings.

    Hi Chris.

A very satisfactory response to a very "touchy" issue. I guess our human mind cannot really fathom what GOD has in HIS plans and actions.

In recent months, I have come to accept that it is a tale of a two sided coin but GOD's permutation, can have answers to many different view points. Guess being humble and lowly will be the first step in understanding HIS intended message to us. Have a blessed day.

    Forgiveness of others

Recently I told my Dad that I forgave him for what was years of mental abuse toward me and also regarding my mom. He is in such Dementia now that he has no real emotion at all; in the past likely he'd have a feigned response of listening but no doubt would quickly revert to sarcastic facial expressions of mocking; glaring in my eyes; etc. That glaring of eyes of pure hatred is something I was never able to master as to getting enraged myself. That resulted in my attempt to explain to him prior to being paced in the Memory Care facility that God could deliver him from that state of rage; but sadly whatever pride he chose to embrace at that point before his mind was further gone wouldn't allow him to consider it seriously.

That being said; despite his difference in personality now basically for the better God still holds all these years of mistreatment of others for the Judgment. All I can do is try to be a vessel filled with the love and truth of Christ. And pray that those in the facility who are believers or someone else gets through to him if I can't; including anyone I know who knows Christ that accompanies me on my visits.

Many NDI's seem to indicate that the current hell involves people living the past over and over; perhaps trapped in memories and tormented by demons. Whether that is just a subconscious torment or a glimpse of hades (as the lake of fire involves torment of other fallen entities as well); I certainly am convicted that whatever STATE a person is in if they remain unregenerate they cannot remove themselves from it and it's resulting punishment. First and foremost God determines levels of punishment.

We all need to be grateful we are delivered from ourselves and seated currently in heavenly places ( Eph. 2:6).

The Spirit within the Body of Christ enables us to forgive one another. There are both extremes; those who love to criticize others and those pretending they haven't been harmed. Stay centered.

Good morning. I'm not usually the most bright eyed "bushy tailed" specimen on the planet; but the joy of the Lord is my strength ( Nehemiah 8:10).

I thought I would say in general right out of the gate as it were that it isn't focusing on evil or warnings of God constantly that I want to pummel people with. We are generally instructed to rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. ( Romans 12:15). It is simply for those already saved; sealed and being sanctified we need to hear the bad news just like we do before we are saved; not as to our eternal state being in jeopardy (if truly saved) but in terms of the opposition we should expect as faithful servants of the King of Kings.

A particular issue I have brought up recently illustrates what is a common practice; people have their opinions and ideas which they often put above scripture as a first response. I'd rather have a disagreement based on a study of God's Word than such presuppositions; I put case in point the remarriage issue; but we could no doubt expand it to anything. Give covetousness. Ephesians 5:5 says this: For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. (Notice that someone covetous is involved with idolatry; whether it a narcissistic worship of self or self-aggrandizement of those promoting a double standard with the lifestyle of a Pastor; for instance. And that is a major issue: the lifestyle a person displays (you know them by their fruits) ( Matthew 7:16). The policy for discipline of a person in the local church congregation is not indicative of complete foreknowledge of whether someone truly will repent; but if one is saved the Lord will use such discipline to correct; and in any case we are in that sense to act as shepherds over a flock if in leadership and hopefully jealous for His Name's sake that others won't be led astray.

    Maranatha.

Hello Lana. You are correct to believe that Almighty God cannot be seen by human eyes ( John 1:18); for God is Spirit and altogether Holy. Even if we mortals were able to have a glimpse of Him, we would be consumed instantly ( Exodus 33:20).

So, the only way we could understand this encounter with God that Jacob had (even as Moses, Isaiah & Job did; as also Abraham, Jacob, Gideon & Manoah with the Angel of the LORD), is to believe that God had provided these men a glimpse of His Holiness, yet not actually seeing the 'Face' of God. In the matter with Jacob ( Genesis 32:24-30) wrestling this unknown man (where did he come from and why was he even there wrestling?), we can understand this 'man' to be sent by God and through this event, proclaim to Jacob that he would be called 'Israel' (a prince of power that has prevailed with God and men).

There have been other interpretations of "this man": that he was Jesus before His incarnation on Earth, or he was an angel (whether Michael or Gabriel, or another), even a special angel to represent God on Earth to Jacob and also to those others mentioned earlier. However one understands the person & origin of this man, the fact remains that Jacob, and the others, would not have been able to see the Person of God (even as God only revealed His Glory to Moses as He passed by him - Exodus 33:20-23). I believe that Jacob, not only wrestled with a physical man, but understood that this man was sent from Heaven by God & in some way revealed to him something of the Power & Glory of God. And so Jacob called that place, Peniel, a place where he saw God (at least what God revealed to him of Himself) & Jacob was relieved to have survived that encounter.

I hope that goes some way to help you understand that Jacob, and the others, would not have seen the Person of God, but what God chose to reveal to them of His Glory, Majesty, and Power - and this revelation was to them as if they had encountered God in Person.

No; just consigned to an empty house at night.

My friend who has Pneumonia IS sort of quarantining himself; he is finishing a round of meds and staying in his place; I may drop a few more things for him in a couple days. Keep him in prayer (Steve). He has been a mixed bag; someone who another couple friends of mine have warned me about an unhealthy codependence for far too long.

I decided to start guitar lessons which begins tomorrow. I don't have a venue at present (and the new church does accappello) so unless something on that bulletin board at the music store brings forth something; or I win the contest and get promoted at a recital on social media I am unlikely at present to be able to do much more than personal edification; but perhaps it is a good venue for ministry. The old instructor is no longer there (was very young actually); this new dude is supposed to be good (Doug).

It has been a marathon effort extricating myself from attendance as a church member for the aforementioned reasons; I happened to bump into someone in the store probably the last person I'll get into the subject with-as I am letting people one on one ask me when they will. So far only my one friend has actually brought up scripture; others just try to justify others they knew who did this and that who were remarried; etc. It is hard building genuine relationships; and people may be using some of these tactics because they feel saddened of me leaving. I had to read multiple printouts from a lady who does small group with her husband about "no perfect church" and what she deemed to be a proper response to those remarried (referring to remaining in the "state" we are in which actually is precisely the point. Very exhausting but I knew it would be a battle. Too foggy last weekend to drive over an hour; Lord willing even if it rains that won't be an issue this week. In 2 weeks I hope to meet everyone after church at a lunch event.

    Dear Richard,

I am glad you and I have been drawn by God to this forum. We are able to encourage each other often and enjoy the fellowship we share.

I am one of 10 children with a large extended family. Growing up, I had many cousins to spend time with but as we all became adults we all kind of went our own ways. As for my siblings, there are only half of them that I have regular contact with because the other 5 do not follow the Lord despite our upbringing by believing parents.

I can honestly say that is more uplifting to fellowship with other believers than to interact with family members that revile the Lord, practice spiritism, buddhism, and hostility towards Christ.

You didn't say why you are quarantining. Are you ill?

    Hi Lana.

Yes, i have the same dilemma as you. Have many testimonies and confessions from converts who claimed they had seen and spoken with Jesus Christ and God or both. As to to cause offense, I choose to remain silent and not mention about the verse in the Bible that stated that "no one had seen God".

Salvation: "Me; myself and I-the unholy trinity"

I won't say dogmatically this indicates a false convert but the amount of times the first person is indicated in today's music lyrics of so called Christian music is revealing. The singers may believe but few express deep devotion mentioning all of HIS glory; which of course is helped when actual scripture is referred to either directly or at least with "intentionality" in the lyrics.

It seems I am going to spend some time discussing IF someone truly is saved or not before I get further into verses that seem to indicate we can lose our salvation. Behavior; after all is the crux of the matter-even those who think we can lose our salvation are correct that God isn't at fault in regard to someone's peril.

Being dead to self of course means that it becomes foreign for us to continue as we did before coming to faith on ourselves.

This training is as a child; some of it is scripture knowledge; and for maturity that is essential. But it isn't enough we have to learn to hear His voice; and desire the things He does. This is hard for us; but impossible for unregenerate people. What is easy is knowing His prodding; because although for a time other voices intervene and can even put us in a trance He cannot be thwarted. What is hard is our personal struggle with obedience; comfort in old patterns of behavior; fear of stepping out and failures. We may still desire to sin instead of obey; but the Spirit is grieved and we are not content. It seems strange; at least in my experience that sin used to not be a problem or we could enjoy it without such a battle.

He loves us though; and as children we can throw a hissy fit; as it were. Now it isn't cute as it would be with a 6 year old and it is an aberration for sure for someone who has truly believed for say 20 years. Yes it CAN happen but again the distinction is God never stops working on His children; like it or not we are His possession; to be completed

The role of the accuser in refinement.

Now one fundamental difference that often demonstrates who is truly saved is the enemy constantly accusing them. Of course this doesn't mean the lost are any better off. Satan clearly has affected this world withsufficient evil to destroy men; but for the lost their end is evident. Satan has no permission to send anyone to hell nor the power to enforce it; they do it to themselves.

Men are already under God's wrath; there is nothing he can do to up the ante on that reality. What he does do is present a false picture of hell where he rules; and encourages enticing the flesh to increase a person's guilt. Ultimately, he wants worship for himself so makes sin look appealing. On the other hand a child of God needs both increased outside promptings to sin (as by default he is now a new creation). Therefore he works from the outside placing thoughts in the mind making men enslaved and captive with the "carrot on a stick" concept; then the trap closes with mental torment of accusations; guilt etc. This of course drives a true Christian back to God and defeats his purposes. That is the life of the enemy of our souls; a madman.

This is probably a chief reason He doesn't pull us out like He did after the Resurrection. He didn't need the world to refine him but uses it in our lives a lot for those purposes. There is no doubt he will be enraged when we are Raptured; the first defeat was Christ's Resurrection and millions from the earth at one time escaping will surely not be taken very well on his part.

So that is another layer in all this; the demonstration to angels in heaven of our faithfulness in trials they never had while on this earth in mortal bodies; and to the fallen angels that they're on the losing side. Satan of course considers his minions useful idiots it would seem and men much the same. He doesn't consider himself in that same place doing God's bidding and wasting his own time in pipe dreams.

More comments on what salvation is.

In further thoughts; this idea saddens me greatly. The tares simply don't know; they are unaware they are being deceived until too late. Now that brings up a whole controversy on free will and predestination. I will admit we all were enemies of God and followed the god of this world before the Lord reached us. Whatever our capability of accepting or rejecting truth and the steps on the way to the process of acceptance or rejection of God; we have to take His Word at face value; some simply are tares or goats. Some make it to heaven and some don't; and God is fair even though we don't get it. I will also say that emotion no matter how dramatic isn't enough in regard to being saved; but we also can't intellectually consent to Biblical truths without a new heart or without any emotion; after all a saved person HAS died or crucified their old nature in Him and that is a painful process whose death blow comes at salvation but until we are glorified continues to have residual effects in our fleshly mortal bodies. Again that is very saddening to think about; how much misery our remaining sins and rebellion cause for ourselves and others not to mention greiving the Spirit.

Now if we take something like deliverance ministry; no doubt there are some wolves in sheep's clothing who like to fling around the name of Jesus and may actually get some results. John 16:8 shows what should really rattle someone demon posessessed.

Satan ain't impressed with a sideshow and as we see in the book of Acts it can turn against those who want a publicity stunt.

We need to keep in mind when Jesus said that we shouldn't publicize our "good works" as the Pharisees did. (Again sorry I can't readily access the verse). This explains not casting our pearls before swine for those who are not serious about repenting seeking deliverance and also those TRULY filled with the Spirit not worshipping with professing believers in sinful lifestyles.

Once saved always saved: More than a cliche.

Much scripture can be surveyed; hundreds of verses actually which can make us question the other ones that indicate we cannot lose our salvation. I probably covered that before; for now I want to back up and examine salvation itself as many look at it as merely us being saved from hell and now identifying as a Christian and hence destined for heaven.

The concept of redemption has been stated as a concept in Catholicism who prefers that term to salvation. In one sense that is true; as we have been redeemed by Christ; as Ruth was in the O.T. by the "kinsman redeemer" Boaz. Our spiritual salvation is already established as we are "seated in heavenly places" (Hebrews). (I should say now with this unintended AI intrusion I can't search other tabs for verses-sorry; it seems to go here after a certain time).

This establishes the first point; the salvation of the soul comes first; the rebirth of the body later at the Rapture/Resurrection.

The next point is that we were saved FOR something. Our salvation is ultimately to glorify the Son and we are saved to be a demonstration of His goodness to all generations henceforth. The Millennium will allow us to coinhabit earth with mortal men; and eternity future who knows all that entails? For the unregenerate that seems like a punishment; or a narcissistic deity forcing himself on us. This is the first indication we often see of those who are in reality tares; or faking the part of faith. They have no real fear of the Lord (a requirement); repentance in their lives (going beyond an initial proclamation upon salvation); and are still enamored with their old selves; the world; flesh and the Devil. We TRULY are dead to sin if saved; He chastises His own as I have pointed out often. A child may run but they will run back when they sense danger up to a certain point when their heart is hardened at a certain age. The lost God allows for now to do what they want

    Hi "But Now"

The wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23.

One is saved by receiving Christ as our Lord and savior!

One must realize he is lost, hopeless, and condemned without Christ!

We will recieve Christ when we come to Christ in faith and put our salvation in his hands, believing in your heart that Jesus is Lord and accepting His payment for sin. (Jesus paid for our sins by taking our place on the cross)

Christ death was a sacrifice for humanity's sins, allowing believers to have a new and eternal life through faith in him

This saving faith is a gift received through God's grace, not earned by your good deeds or good works.

Christ payment on the cross was a payment for the sins for the WHOLE WORLD (that must be received by faith) from Adam until the world ends. John 3:15-18.

    I hope this helps.

Let me know if I answered your question.

    GBU.

Annotated Gen.22.14-15 "In the mount of the Lord"

"And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovahjireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the Lord it shall be seen.

Abraham took the lad leaving others behind,'And they came to the place which God had told him of.' It presents us the Son of man being led to Golgotha"And when they were come unto a place called Golgotha, that is to say, a place of a skull"(Mt.27.33),The place name is the ground zero, for he yielded up his ghost . The place where Abraham laid 'thine only son' as commanded of God was a solemn act to enter into the death the Son. Circumcision was merely a sign on his flesh while his faith is fully aligned with the Lord God. We may well be certain that Jehovajireh referred to the mount of the Lord called Zion.

"And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the Lord's house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it./ And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem."(Isa.2.2-3)

In order to make emphasis of the church, New Jerusalem we have the angel calling out Abraham second time. Third time it shall be say,'it is done.'15 And the angel of the Lord called unto Abraham out of heaven the second time,

When examining the Nature of God's Judgment and Salvation program, or any doctrine, we need to be careful not to draw conclusions from a few isolated verses. The Nature of Judgment and Salvation has remained constant throughout time. In fact the Bible in its Entirety is all about the Gospel, God's Judgment and Salvation program.

2 Timothy 3:16 " All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:"

That said, here are a few verses that bear on the question:

John 6:37 "All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out."

John 6:44 "No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day."

    Ephesians 1:2-6

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved."

    Ezekiel 36:24-27

"For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land. Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them."

When we harmonize everything in the Bible, we learn that God does 100% of the work in saving and keeping each of His Elect. What a comfort

If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable. ( 1 Cor. 15:19).

I have been essentially quarantined to stare at the walls of an empty house; rather grubby by some men's standards but a work in progress. My point in saying this is to support those out there who for the sake of service to the Lord are in the same or similar

situations. Thus; the scripture on the top of the page.

For me; whatever skills that I have managed to develop on this site have been benefited through much time to pray and meditate alone. It is essentially a core part of who I am; being born an only child and limited number of relatives (without descendants).

The theme of this posting; I suppose would relate to us beginning to see our calling and how it relates to giftings He has given us. For me it is discernment; and for my friend that I am helping long term it appears to be evangelism. That appears to be something the Lord is teaching me along with my own weakness in fostering that long term relationship and commitment to assist.

Such a concept is beyond normal human interaction. Using our gifts is something we should do for the purpose of edifying others and of course to serve God in obedience. This is more or less in line with Him choosing others rather than our own personal preferences-the two paths may intersect but again we are likely to learn more from those we don't normally hang out with or even understand. We have to trust in God's plan when it comes to our social lives; although I would venture to say that's a concept rather rare today.

It is nice being able to hang out with kids in Awana; having no kids of my own and a learning experience. I would like to encourage others to reach out here; particularly those who feel lonely and depressed. WE in one sense have nothing to offer but in Him we have all to give; through His message through us in word and deed. His children ALL of them are precious in His sight.

    Be encouraged!

    What do we say then?

As someone like me whose age I won't disclose (suffice to say over the hill and a half); I can say that as overwhelming as today's internet has become that the stage was set a long time ago. Nothing new is under the sun; as Solomon said in Ecclesiastes.

Surely the image of the Beast the world adores is coming soon; if not the immediate next phase of today's technology about to come crashing into our homes.

Given such information should we create or watch an AI of the events of the book of Revelation to emphasize this point? I'll leave that up to the viewers as I have the convenient excuse of not being to technologically "savvy". This idea goes back to all the movies and videos about the momentous events of the life of Christ and other Biblical stories which started with the life of Moses in the 1950's black and white rendition to the Rapture craze of "Left Behind" and related 1980s flicks to today's simulations of these and other events. I for one pray that no one tries to memorialize me after I'm gone with some AI message. I thought my fears of being praised and lauded ignoring the fact that I'm a sinner saved by grace at my funeral was a concern; now this.

Of course fallacy in historical accounts as well as videos comes from years of books which were penned through some bias of the author or deliberate lies to promote an agenda. This goes back to the Gnostic Gospels and other things which were never said by the true Apostles; or even further back to what is said to be the book of Enoch contrasted with whatever the true section of the original is quoted in Scripture. It goes back to Babylon and all other source materials of mystery and false religions through Millennia of time. The same principles apply; of course to today's challenges but of course finding the truth takes more work than ever. Having the proper foundation; of course keeps us rooted in His Word and prayer. That and our good works are all that matters.

    Further thoughts on AI videos

As a sort of opposite insight in regard to today's purported "signs and wonders" can it be true that the overwhelming number of videos of such supposed events online hide us from the few that may be true? Jesus told many that He healed to tell no one.

That was in my estimation to keep Him from being recognized and having throngs trying to make Him King thus distracting the focus of His ministry as it wasn't the time for that. I would also propose that it is a warning to us today not to make such events a sideshow. The world always seeks after a sign; and if anything the Pharisees among us would be adding to their judgment and condemnation; and also with a TRUE miracle no doubt believers would face more persecution when REPENTANCE is presented. Food for thought...

This fits into the whole concept of marketing a Christian agenda in a political framework. The results of any "revival" apart from scriptural foundations seeking true repentance ends up being a sort of "self fulfilling" prophecy. God isn't interested in clever marketing ntools; and a set number will believe; only a few will be saved and that is basically the end of the matter if we seek scriptural counsel on this matter.

Nefarious techniques can produce what is marketed as persecution (a problem) and whatever "solution" is offered. I am not here to focus on conspiracy theories; patriotism; politics etc. There are enough sites to read up on that subject (along with AI ones as well; no doubt).

The body of Christ is the sum of God's parts; as it were as He has divided us according to His purposes to fit together as a whole through corporate fellowship. HE is the head; of course and certainly when He comes won't need a computer to show the world. I would say it is likely such things will all be fried at Armageddon; and even if theoretically not in the Millennium there will be sufficient time as in eternity for personal relationships to find full life.
