Satan sinned with Pride, jealousy, ambition

    Eze 28:15,16

    Isa 14:13,14

Where did sin come from? This infected Lucifer and caused his downfall

How and where did sin originate.

God is and always will be sinless, he does not cause sin, so where did it come from?

I understand there are times when God may "hide" his face from us.

God cannot be unaware of sin's origin, yet, He didn't prevent it?

Clarification please if there is an answer. If not, please comment? Thank you

    Further reflections on morality

A root of rebellion today; no doubt stems from salt and light lacking with conviction and adherence to the truth commanded in the Scriptures which should accompany a verbal proclamation of the Great Commission. Whether it is the sanctity of marriages or the way many churches today are run like corporations with excess and greed and lack of accountability no doubt many true allegations of hypocrisy abound. Ultimately it is up to the individual; if they are truly seeking Him to be as the Bereans searching the scriptures daily. ( Acts 17:11). It is true that one could accuse Protestants of committing many of the same errors that their Catholic counterparts do in that regard; either creating an audience that just wants to be spoon-fed every weekend with no further growth or who are encouraged NOT to do self examination; if anything to go under the radar in regard to excesses and indiscretions rampant among leadership. Thus; we are taught not to ruffle any feathers; only to encourage one another. This ignores this verse in particular Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. ( 2 Tim. 4:2).

In the above verse exhortation could be considered encouragement with a little more "umph"; the other part of this verse about rebuking and reproving seems to occur rarely; and sadly when it is it is due to legalistic control techniques to keep congregants "in their place" so to speak.

There are crowns given for faithfulness in our role if we persevere until the end; with warnings such as Revelation 3:11 that we can forfeit them as well. If we patiently await His coming there is a crown there as well as for martyrs who are dying at an accelerating pace and whose deaths are getting harder to conceal from the world. Judgment day is coming and begins with the house of God. Thankfully there is always a remnant present; let us remain as it were in that little flock.

Further insights on a "moral" society

Ecclesiastes 7:10 says: Say not thou, What is the cause that the former days were better than these? for thou dost not inquire wisely concerning this.

Our parents and parents before them no doubt long for a society with structure and expected behaviors that characterized; more or less at least the Western adaptation of a Judeo Christian society. Needless to say sin and rebellion were always present in the fabric of entertainment but hidden with subtle innuendos hinting at more graphic horror; for instance in Hitchcock flicks or immorality which waxed and waned (i.e. the excesses during the "roaring 20s" as opposed to the societal norm after Prohibition.

As I probably stated before His Kingdom comes on His terms. We don't create our own mandate; however good it sounds and expect it to succeed unless it is founded on the rock as the church was under Peter. There are some whose rebellion is or should at least be so obvious that it is clear they have no changed heart as professed believers caught up in certain movements that are "Christian" by name only. It is of course the more nuanced and less obvious means which Satan can use a little lie to "leaven the whole lump" as it were ( Gal. 5:9). In a sense such an approach makes the Word seem more palatable even for the unregenerate who can "puff themselves up" as it were with platitudes and self aggrandizement which of course boils down to pride and nothing else. Exacerbated through church leadership cherry picking verses out of context is encouraging some to accept a watered down concept of all of scripture; while Biblical illiteracy convinces some to disregard (een burn the O.T. as one example on a video described that I recently viewed) and keep some imaginary deity representing only a loving humanitarian skeleton of Christ perhaps loosely related to the Beatitudes.

The Gospel properly taught with conviction; fear of God and reverence is unpopular today.

That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,

    May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;

And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God.

    Annotated Gen.18 "Abraham and Moses"

The visitation of three men to Abraham teaches what God meant when he said, " I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect." The patriarch lived in the world of the Spirit even so entering into the God's rest set him as a double for his Son. He was the word which was with God and his obedience made his walk with God as doable. The lives of Noah and Abraham we shall find mirrored in the life of Moses. A few examples we shall cite.Moses meets the criteria that God setin 6.3. "And Moses was an hundred and twenty years old when he died:"(Deut.34.7). In three divisions of 40 years we have his exile; After forty years expired God appeared to him. Lastly, " He brought them out, after that he had shewed wonders and signs in the land of Egypt, and in the Red sea, and in the wilderness forty years." (Act.7.23-36) We see the Word circular fitting his case. As a hero of faith his foreknowledge came from the Word was God. Second aspect of the Word which was with God, explains this passage," Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward./ By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible. "(Heb.11.26-27)

The same was in the beginning with God.( Jn 1.2) We see this fulfilled at the mount of transfiguration, "And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him."(Mt.17.1)

The narrative mode of the Spirit instructs us in righteousness. As with the indiscretion of Sarah we have Moses standing in the way of God. His lack of confidence in dealing with the people brought in Aaron into this Word circular. God asks "Now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt say./ And he said, O my Lord, send, I pray thee, by the hand of him whom thou wilt send." Aaron was somewhat like Lot whose faults would prove to be a drag.

The Almighty God loves us in spite of our past works and favor us as our souls rest in his works.

    Psalms 100:4

"Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, andbless his name."

    FAMILY:

    Philippians 4:8

    "Finally, brethren,

    whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things arehonest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report;

if there be any virtue, and

    if there be any praise,

    think on these things. Amen!

    Let us be grateful and

hold on to the kindness and favor God is showing to us this day

    as he gives us

    " our daily bread." Amen!

    Philippians 4:6

"Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God."

Let us continue to pray for the hard-hearted, that they shall be saved. Let us remember those under chastisement, knowing that God has not turned them over unto death but will restore them to the right relationship with him.

Let us be grateful for both great and small things.

God is faithful to show us his Salvation.

    Be blessed.

    Hello All,

Asking for prayer for my daughter-in-law, Elfe, as she enters her 38th week of pregnancy. Please keep her and baby in prayer for a safe and trouble free delivery. I am excited to welcome our second grandchild. Little Rosie will have a first cousin now. Hoping baby comes sooner than later. Her mom and brother are coming from Singapore on the 6th, so I am hoping baby comes soon after they arrive so they will have more time with him and Elfe before they leave in three weeks.

But, in the long run, his birthday is in God's hands and He has a day for him to be born. We wait patiently with joy and excitement.

"Annotated Gen.18.14 Year of the Lord"

"At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son." Here the day set by the Lord is the acceptable year of the Lord. (Isa.61.1) The same analogy as with day decreed for the Son works here. (Ps.2.7) The Covenant is set in seven days, and the day of the Lamb consequently are pendent. Day of the Lamb associated with the Passover is rounded by day of the Lord in Joel 2.31; Isa 13.6 and 2 Pet.3.10. We are in the cusp of the day beginning with Sodom. This chapter is special for several reasons. Lot followed Abraham and went one full circle as descibed in chs 12-13. Lot separated from Abraham and chose the plain of Jordaan, with eyes wide open. God showed Lot what was way ahead when he required to be rescued by Abraham and his confederates. Thus the Spirit has been instructing in going by appearances. Lot was far gone in his folly to be helped.

The visitation of God in thein the plains of Mamre was a folloup for making one full round where God provedi n Egypt that God was his shield and exceeding great reward. The three men now made the Word circular manifest, connecting thhe patriarch as a double for his Son. Specifically the Lord meant Isaac and the birth of Jesus Christ. In order to establish this connection St Matthew gospel begis with the generation of Jesus Christ against which the Spirit names him as the son of Abraham.

God confides Abraham as with his Son who is the word become flesh, so he is in the loop to use a buzzword of our times. "I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know."(v.21)

Sodom was 'was well watered every where, before the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, even as the garden of the Lord,." Babylon is Rev.18 had much to commend for, Sin city where the sun never set. and wealth was to be created by all means. The end justified the means. Remember its fall?

    Assurance of salvation

Scripturally there are many warnings regarding testing ourselves if we are in the faith; having a root of bitterness grow in us; and otherwise falling away along with what seem like iron clad promises of being sealed in the Spirit; never dying and other promises that make the "once saved always saved" a reality and not just a cliche.

For those listening to this post; it indeed may be unnecessary to go any further reading this and no doubt many subsequent posts on the matter and it may be basically a way for me to gather some thoughts on the matter. The issue as many of you know is those who we thought were believers and become fully "deconstructed"; the popular term for basically shipwrecking our faith.

The easy answer which I suppose many are content with and have no struggle with as I do is that if someone does this they never believed in the first place. This has to be balanced of course with those who have a "Prodigal son" sort of experience; quite common today with testimonies online apparently in particular.

The issue here seems to be weighing God's promises and life experiences with those we know and love making objective realism harder. There are those on each end of the spectrum here; who will either pigeonhole someone as a nonbeliever the first time they sin (likely due to unforgiveness); or tolerating repetitive sin or worse a lifestyle of sin accompanied by no evidence of spiritual fruit in someone.

The idea of TRUST is a crucial concept; and we must therefore trust God in our own walk as well as that of others as to whether they remain on the straight and narrow or are just temporary passers by whose heart turns them back to the wide road leading to destruction. I will take the suggested methodology and just make a passing reference to a certain verse describing a canine that returns back to something rather unpleasant coming from its mouth. It is; admittedly hard to sugar coat such dire life or death matters

Annotated Gen.18.1-3 "Unity of the Spirit"

"And the Lord appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day;"

The Spirit is clear: The Lord makes a visit to the Patriarch. The place where theymeet is also specific. We have a commentary to this in the epistle to the Hebrews, comments," Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares."(Heb.13.2)

One curious aspect of angels as with disciples are sent two by two. "And there came two angels to Sodom at even; and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom: and Lot seeing them rose up to meet them; and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground;"(19.1). More or less same manner of receiving the stangers. The three men are there bringing glad tidings to the barren couple. The tow angels in the case of Lot are there to deliver him for a calamity..

2 And he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood by him: and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground,

God's voice coming from the three makes the speaker not only the sound but also a sign accordingly. Thus all three have but one voice and one sign. It is how we look at the Word of God. The Word was God and the Word which was with God and same was with God from the beginning, is here enacted for our understanding. The Word circular demands events on earth as it is in heaven.(Jn.1.1)

vv.9-10 "And they said unto him, Where is Sarah thy wife? And he said, Behold, in the tent." They said signifying one voice. In v.10 we have the sign that the word shall pprosper and not return to God in void. "And he said, I will certainly return unto thee according to the time of life; and, lo, Sarah thy wife shall have a son. And Sarah heard it in the tent door, which was behind him.

Spirit of truth tells Sarai who lied being afrais, "Then Sarah denied, saying, I laughed not; for she was afraid. And he said, Nay; but thou didst laugh."(v.15)

Sometimes we ask something from God but no answer. Give up?

"And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day. And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob's thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him. And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me. And he said unto him, What is thy name? And he said, Jacob. And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed." Genesis 33:24-28

Jacob didn't let God go away unless He blessed him. And God named him Israel, whicn means triumphant with God.

    Let us do the same.

Sometimes we realize that our faith is not adequate to receive something from God. We have a little bit of faith.

"... for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you." ( Matthew 17:20)

What is the characteristic of the grain of the mustard seed?

"31Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field: 32Which indeed is the least of all seeds: but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof." ( Matthew 13:30-31)

Sometimes faith as little as a mustard grain which is the least of all seeds is all we need. But when it is placed in a good field (good heart) then it is grown and becomes a big tree.

Let us trust the written Word of God. Could God ever lie? He gave the command and the universe was created out of nothing. How difficult is it for Him to give the command and your illness goes away? The universe obeys Him, but not your illness?

"7Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. 9Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?10Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? 11If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?" (Natthew 7-11)

    Have a blessed week.

When your doctor tells you that science is giving up and nothing can be done any more, and when all hope is lost and human support is gone ... then this is the time for God.

    2 Cor 1:8-10,

"8For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life:

9But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead:

10Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us;"

    Hi Godwin,

I believe that we always have things to learn in life. I do not know you and I do not know your story, but you certainly have something to teach. Ultimately, people just want to have the confidence to follow their own path. This truth is so that we can walk that path with confidence, because we know that Jesus is with us.

    Annotated Gen.17.11 "Circumcision"

"And ye shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin; and it shall be a token of the covenant betwixt me and you."

It is a token of the covenant, between heaven and the earth. The Spirit instructs us as in the case of he bow in heaven but it is for the man, to enjpo the fellowship of the Father of mercies by trusting in his goodness. The essence of the Covenant is not a whit diluted. Here the patriarch is invited to enter into it by an act of profession that the death of the Son in heaven has an emblem: the slain Lamb. Only he was worthy to open the book bound with seven seals. Heaven and earth under one rule: "Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;/And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth." (Rev.5.9)This is what living in the Spirit for Abraham signified.

" For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh." Phl.3.3) Faith is one language and one speech. In the case of Hagar we see what it is meant by the bond-maid. She was bought with a price and her will was taken from her. So the angel of the Lord finds her in her affliction. He counsels her to go back, "nd submit thyself under her hands.""(15.9,11) Her trust is for the good of her son. "Behold, thou art with child and shalt bear a son, and shalt call his name Ishmael; because the Lord hath heard thy affliction." God sanctifies her seed on account of her obedience. No greater prize than that one can hope to attain. Similarly Abraham seed shall obtain a name where faith matches both between flesh and the spirit. Ishamael was called as much as Isaac was. "And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget,"(v.20)

My wife and I left our church several years ago due to our minister wanting to bring some changes we felt were scripturally, if not morally, wrong. And due to my wife suffering from chronic migraines and her new job requiring her to work on Sundays has prevented us from finding a new church home. But I have always believed that, as Christians, we were called to stand out, not blend in. Even Jesus stated that in his comparison of us being lamps on a hill.

The narrow path: God's judging the church

The latest debacle in regard to setting a Rapture date (the primary one this past Rosh Hashanah Sept 23) and subsequent failed predictions has no doubt caused some to use this as an excuse to shipwreck the faith. It saddens me to see how at least one person I highly respected get caught up in this and endless number patterns which is basically an occult way to cause people to make predictions. There are some who used to be focused on reaching the lost and fulfilling the Great Commission who have become sidetracked. One great problem with many so called movements of God today is the obsession on "revival" which ignores the errors of false revivals of the past and also how inevitably Satan will counterfeit true movements of God at some point.

Again being unaware of these things is not being discerning scripturally. Another part of the problem is our attempt to convince God to bring blessings whether or not we are obedient to His Word. This was discussed briefly at the Sunday service I attended in regard to Jabez in scripture and a book that discussed the subject popular around 2001. Those who truly are going to be blessed don't spend much time if any obsessing on that subject which perhaps the verse illustrates; God granted something when it wasn't embellished with lengthy words and obsessing on it. Basically those He will bless He blesses and curse He curses and that is directly related to a life of obedience or lack thereof and true love of the Lord. There is NO indication in scripture of quantity being more important than the quality of a believer; the Great Commission does say to pray for more workers for the harvest but those who are recipients in the harvest are predetermined. John 10:1 warns us about snyone attempting to come into the pen any other way to the sheepfold. There is only one method to salvation and that involves knowing the voice of the Shephard; His sheep know His voice.

    Putting the pieces together

Lately; I have commented on some concerns in regard to my church and I am happy to report that a new church has shown vastly different enthusiasm from everyone I spoke to regarding the particular doctrinal issue I have been struggling with and an enthusiasm for the Lord and SCRIPTURAL discussions. That was facilitated by a meal after the service that I was invited to; and that they have regularly for the congregation as a whole after services. The drive is along a major highway but quite an endeavor to do weekly; at least when there is any risk for wintry road conditions. Nonetheless I am highly confident that this will be a great asset in the future; and the weeks I can't attend there is a recording of the service.

I still have at least one person to discuss the doctrinal reason I left who has had strong disagreement in the past; and I would appreciate anyone who wants to pray for that and the evening activities I am still involved with until they are over some time early next year.

I wanted to use the rest of this posting to say that there are times when we need to move on and God wants us to have a role in ministering to others as well as being ministered to. My point is that one should do nothing without prayer and seeking Him on a subject; but there is also a time we need to act rather than standing in place when it is clear there are no other viable options to remain true to the Lord and His Word. This may involve others attempting to discourage us and dissuade us. We CANNOT afford to put maintaining relationships we are comfortable with in regard to routines ahead of God. I have been accused of being hard hearted; wrong; not showing grace; etc. The particular issue I have discussed before but the principle is what I am focusing on here. The majority opinion often is wrong; and when people resort to human emotions and logic and refuse to have a scripturally based discussion I have found it best to move on.

    Agape.

Annotated Gen.16.7-12 "All his brethren" (2 of 2)

Blessing of God is expressly directed to individuals in his Son and His calling and gifts are without repentance. Testimony Jesus Christ is given by God to his angel and it is consistent in this case. It is the angel of the Lord who enlightens Hagar.

God says," I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob." God does not say 'I am the God of Reuben or of Levi". Neither does he say with regards to Ishamael but God does it through Abraham, "and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed." It is for the individual as in the case of Jacob, the heel-catcher to receive it by his faith. This testimony we see connecting with Jesus Christ. "I will open my mouth in a parable: I will utter dark sayings of old:/Which we have heard and known, and our fathers have told us."(Ps.78.2-3)

Parable compares heaven with the earth and let us consider this verse," Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth:" When Abram died both Isaac and Ismael were present; similarly at the death of Isaac both Esau and Isaac were present. The point is the rest of the patriarchs bring both nations of heavenly calling and of the earth as one. It is for the man to enter into the rest of God himself. Consider how the Spirit phrases the death of Ishmael. "And these are the years of the life of Ishmael, an hundred and thirty and seven years: and he gave up the ghost and died; and was gathered unto his people./And they dwelt from Havilah unto Shur, that is before Egypt, as thou goest toward Assyria: and he died in the presence of all his brethren."(25.17-18) In the presence of his presence included the Son as well.

Ishmael enters into his rest as Abraham but how do their works follow them? In Rev.20 the nations include enemies to Christ and they are led by Satan, " and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them."(Rev.20.8-9)
