Grace: Adam called his wife's name,Eve because she was the mother of all living. Genesis 3:20.
  • A disciple on Luke 17 - 8 years ago
"And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine? There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger." The Lord knows when the crowds are thronging and pressing at Him, and when one touches Him in faith that virtue goes out from Him. Jesus also is aware of how many take His healing and salvation and go their way NOT returning to give God glory.
  • A disciple on Luke 17 - 8 years ago
"Doth he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded him? I expect not. So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do." When we have been explicitly told what we are to believe and do, and how to think of ourselves, how then is obedience something special or extra?
  • A disciple on Luke 17 - 8 years ago
"Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but that offences will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come!" Keeping with the context and continuance of the previous chapters, it was the covetous and hostile disobedient rich who derided the Lord and let Lazarus perish with poverty and hunger right at their own front gate. This kind treat Christians the same way, without any concern.
  • Christ Magnified Glorifying Jesus on Joshua 20 - 8 years ago
Day 64 of "Bible in a Year Reading. I have had to read a number of chapters to get caught up. The history of Israel is so important to understand the relationship God offers to all.
  • A disciple on Psalms 5 - 8 years ago
Dear Mild Bill; You write right from my heart! And I love especially what is taught in this Psalm about coming before the LORD in the morning to "set in order" and "give account" before Him, BECAUSE He is not a God who will abide wickedness, nor allow anything unclean into His Presence. So we examine ourselves through His Word, and be all honest about our character, our behavior, and our thoughts.
  • A disciple on Genesis 4 - 8 years ago
Grace; Adam and Eve had many, many more children than just Cain, and Abel, and Seth: It would naturally have been one of Cain's sisters that he took for a wife. There were no other people created besides Adam and Eve, and their children; and it wouldn't have been considered wrong to take a sister or a half sister or first cousin, like it might be today and in our culture.
  • Narrima on Deuteronomy 8 - 8 years ago
God is so wonderful! It is He, who gives and takes away. His correction is for our own benefit. First to prove us, then to bless us. The word power here means strength. Because of Him, we walk, run, work etc. Our very existence is because of Him.
  • 李芳芳 on Revelation 1 - 8 years ago
    我最喜欢Book of Revelations!我喜欢看Bible书!我爱God! <3
  • Conner Dawson on 2 Timothy 1 - 8 years ago
I really like that verse and even if we are persecuted for what we believe we should stand strong and think about this verse. I think every Christian should memorize this verse.
  • Emily Griswold on Exodus 1 - 8 years ago
Exodus is such a striking chapter. It so embodies the tests which God grace us with during our lives to test our faith and strength of character. It serves as an allegory for how we will all have times of relative slavery in our lives, but God stands with us and we must trust in His plan. Love to you all.
  • Servant of God on John 6 - 8 years ago
I am the bread of life. My flesh is bread indeed. If you will eat my flesh and drink my blood, you will have life. Flesh is inert meat. It profits nothing. The Spirit is from God, in you,in me,in Jesus. He was a son because his life was nothing but what God had spoken thru him. I am sent was what he declares multiple times. Believe in he who sent me to give life unto the world. Believe God
  • Stanley K Row on Philippians 4 - 8 years ago
God will give the desires of your heart.that is scripture. He will give you blessing and grace , we dont deserve it. But we have a loving God that want you to have a joy in life and a aboundt life.
  • Andy on 2 Timothy 1 - 8 years ago
Julie, prayer is pouring out your heart to God. Do not worry about the proper way to worship God. Just do so with your whole heart and God will guide you. Remember God will always provide light for you to walk and the first step will always be a step of faith
  • Mild Bill,saved by grace on Psalms 5 - 8 years ago
After sleep,we should make a habit of going to the Lord who has sustained us while in that state. To pray for a path in the day to follow,in his service, unto his glory.Because of his mercy and grace,we are in his house,in the company of other believers.Sin and wickedness are near us in this world and we know judgement with justice will come.Joy to fullness then in Thy kingdom come,Thy will be done.
  • Grace on Genesis 4 - 8 years ago
How does one explain the presence of other people in Genesis 4 e.g. who did Cain marry If Adam and Eve were the first people that God created?
  • A disciple on Genesis 21 - 8 years ago
Jean (cont.); You wrote, "..a Muslim asked me to justify what took place in Genesis 21." The keyword is Just! What was just about despising her mistress? What was just about mocking Isaac? What is just about arrogantly rejoicing over someone else's unhappiness and trial, and hatefully mocking at their joys? The LORD said that Ishmael would be a mongrel and a terror to everyone and it sure is true!
  • A disciple on Romans 10 - 8 years ago
Michael (cont.); You dare to say that the Apostle Matthew, who was filled with the Holy Spirit at "THE" Day of Pentecost, and the first to write the Holy Glad Tidings Narrative the same year that the Lord ascended; that HE didn't have a clue? How then did Jesus open their understanding to Scripture, while according to you they did not understand?
  • A disciple on Romans 10 - 8 years ago
Michael; You wrote, " Matthew 7:26 is not to the church, it is to the nation of Israel. Matthew knows nothing about the gentile church age nor does he have a clue about the gospel of grace." First of all, Jesus commanded that All Nations should be made disciples and do all that Jesus has said. What was commanded for Israel, goes also for all who are under Israel!
  • Word on Revelation 6 - 8 years ago
Satan comes as antichrist which is to say instead of Christ meaning Satan claim he is God returned and it's going to be a love feast and Satan will take on the role of Christ to deceive the whole world. If you join Satans one world system and your faked out then you haven't been keeping track of the trumps. No rapture will occur and the first Christ is a fake. Wait for hail and fire THEN 7th Trump
  • Alex on Genesis 21 - 8 years ago
JEAN read Gal. 4 KJV SEVERAL TIMES The complete chapter and you will know exactly how to answer your Muslim friend.
  • A disciple on Psalms 80 - 8 years ago
Mable; Forgive me, but WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? "GOD Said as long your attach abuse in me I will abide in you.we will never be for from his tree of life???" The Lord doesn't "abide" in those who abuse Him! Also, the Tree of Life is guarded by an Angel with a flaming sword to prevent sinful fallen men to approach; until the time to come when the evil in men is forever put away. Please write me!
  • A disciple on Genesis 21 - 8 years ago
Jean (cont.); As far as Sarah's treatment of her maid-servant; Hagar behaved wickedly toward her Mistress in despising her and mocking her. I don't feel a bit sorry for wicked women with UGLY mocking mouths against their BETTERS; and the fact that she was pregnant was why the Angel was sent to tell her to go back and submit to her Mistress. When they have children that are the same; GOOD RIDDANCE!
  • A disciple on Genesis 21 - 8 years ago
Jean; Tell your friend, first of all about Hagar: that in ancient times it was normal and acceptable to have household servants; either hired or owned; for many practical reasons. It didn't necessarily imply oppression or cruelty as it would today. Many times it was because someone had nothing to pay his debt but with his life in service to the one he owed. Maybe Pharaoh gave her to Sarah? Gen. 12
  • A disciple on James 1 - 8 years ago
Steve morrow; Very good Alongside Scriptures! James 1:2-4; 1 Peter 4:15! Our first priority to LOVE the LORD our God with all our being, and the neighbor as one's self; is why we keep awake and pray, why we read the Word and do all to keep it in mind as we go through our days: so we can overcome the world as Jesus overcame in all things. Our business is not to be in everyone else's business!
  • A disciple on Exodus 15 - 8 years ago
"The enemy said, I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; my lust shall be satisfied upon them; I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them." The children of the devil have the devil's nature. They believe that violence is the indisputable right of their power; and pride and cruelty the strength of their superiority and glory; going forth subduing and to subdue. ( Rev. 6:1-2)
  • Christ Magnified Glorifying Jesus on Joshua 4 - 8 years ago
Enjoying reading through the Bible in a year. Have been playing "catchup" for over a week now. That is ok. I love how the Israelites were told to teach their children by many means (monuments, feasts, days etc) about God and their deliverance.
  • Servant of God on John 5 - 8 years ago
If he believe not Moses writing, how shall he believe Jesus, for he said,I will send someone like unto me. Jesus wasn't on earth to teach something new, on his own behalf but to reenforced what had already been written. The law is the law of God written by Moses and reaffirmed by Jesus. Don't get above your raising, as they say in the south. The law of God is not abolished-carved in stone
  • Sandra Kebeciebu Pauline Howard on Job 42 - 8 years ago
With God All things are possible. Just learn to trust him alone and completely. Only He can see you through. I am a witness to His goodness and faithfulness.
  • JOSEPH KABA on Job 22 - 8 years ago
If you believe in the Lord he will shine his light to you and and strong holds will broke in him all things are possible
