I like you guys commentzs I think that you should read a chapter of Malachi every day into it is over.😉

I think this is the best book in the bible talking about what the church needs to do.😇

Verse 6 - Thou (God) have forsaken (let go, divorced) the house of Jacob (Israel) because they be replenished (fill, restore) from the East (Orient, Asia, by Asian people). Asians may not be part of the said lost tribe of Israel but were ancient people since the earth was divided after the flood and during the time of Peleg. Archippus is admonished to fulfil the ministry he has been given by the Lord.vs17. Jesus says to us, "For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house and gave authority to his servants, AND TO EVERY MAN HIS WORK." Mark 13:34. To every man his work. Are we fulfilling the 'work' we've been given by the Lord? To every one, his work...And ladies, I believe you are included too.

Verse 1...it has been said, that in Jesus' time, Rome's population was 50% slaves. Paul admonishes both master and slave several times in his letters. But nowhere does Paul advocate creating a political party, or charitable organization, to help free the slaves. Could it be, there is that on earth, more important than slavery or its abolition? Could it be that Jesus is Master of both?

Please engage in an experiment with me...Set the Ten Commandments alongside you ( Exodus 20). Then, while reading this chapter, study the Ten Commandments. You will find the one foreshadows the other. You will find the New Testament law of love and grace, mirrors beautifully, the Ten Commandments...quite a Sunday School lesson here...

"Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross" vs 14...Which will be superseded by grace, mercy, love and judgment. Ephesians agrees, "Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances..." Eph 2:15.

vs3. "In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge." Know of a certainty, this is true. But it comes at great cost..."For in much wisdom is much grief: and he that increaseth knowledge increaseth sorrow". I testify to the truth of this. The more of Jesus you have, the more of knowledge you gain, the more grief and sorrow you will live with. The only salvation left for you, is Jesus.

Paul was given a dispensation of God (vs 25) to fulfill a personal calling to suffer in the flesh for the Church, the body of Christ. (vs 24). Jesus' blood bought our eternal salvation. Paul's sufferings in the flesh, served to build the church of Jesus Christ. "And fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body's sake". Ananias said as much to Paul, Acts 9:16.

"But this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind". Unless you were raised in a bible perfect, doctrinally sound church, you believe things that aren't bible truth. If so, disregard the rest of this. If not, then you may spend years, many years, putting behind you the errors of your religious past, just as Paul did. That can be done, only by immersing yourself, in the Word of God

"...touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless." vs 6. Paul here, and only 3 others throughout the N.T. are said to be blameless before the law. Jesus ( Hebrews 4:15), and Zacharias and Elizabeth, parents of John the Baptist ( Luke 1:6). But then, we live under a different law, faith and grace, for "Christ is the end of the law for righteous to everyone that believeth" Romans 10:4.

Eutychus (lastly); When we are tempted, we are drawn away by our own lusts and enticed. We ALL are the same in that respect. But the one who is truly right with the Lord and walking in truth hates sin and hates the temptations to sin. We hate and war against our own natural desires for what is forbidden, AND WILL NOT YIELD TO THEM! If we ever do, even for a moment; we burn with shame and repent!

"For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain." Phil 1:21.

Really? To live isn't watching the widescreen god? To live isn't playing sports? It isn't paying total attention to "devices". To live isn't to spend one's time in an all out drive to be entertained, even when in church?

If all that is living, then you bet! that dying in Jesus is a gain unsurpassed on this very earth...

Eutychus (cont.); We have to be very careful about what we say, because the things that come from our hearts and innermost thoughts either justify us or condemn us. We have to think about what we say, and WHY we say it. If a man is still wrestling with selfishness and sinning like it was a serious conflict in him or as you call it a rivalry; where is the evidence of grace? Where is the repentance?

Eutychus; I'm glad you bring up these things; for it is a diabolical technique used by the devil through MANY supposed well meaning Pastors and Teachers these days. But let's examine just exactly it is that you're suggesting. What "rivalry" between the LORD God and the devil? And what "rivalry" for the truly saved and converted Believer who wishes to live with a good conscience toward God and man?

Having never come from a rich family, or any kind of upbringing that would push me to pursue riches; I've always seen through it to a great extent...it has no pull with me! Even putting that type of thing on a level of "worldliness in general" doesn't it make you feel like you're drying up inside and your heart dead to the Lord and spiritual things and holiness and FAITH? I'd avoid those thoughts!

Asia, as it was then called during the days of the Apostles, was what is now Southwestern to Central Turkey. Many Bibles have maps of the Missionary Journeys of Paul, and there you can see what all those places were once called. If you like to do some digging and research History, there's really a lot of information you can get on the Internet. Have fun!

Ray; from the beginning when once sin entered, so shame came with it, and so to answer the shame we cover our nakedness. God doesn't want us to be ashamed and He doesn't want us to sin; so He gave us clothing to restrain us from our lechery. Jesus said that Adultery is an evil that comes from within and defiles us; and the act of looking with lustful intent is the same as having already done it.

And I will harden Pharaoh's heart, and multiply my signs and my wonders in the land of Egypt." God knows the difference between His servants, His people, and the heathen His enemies. He uses weak to confound the mighty and deliver the oppressed from them.

Ask your class to read this chapter with you, aloud. Then ask them if they noted an apparent (!) contradiction in the text? They won't see it, or take note of it. You won't either, unless you read below...

But look at verses 2 and 5. This is startling evidence that it takes the Holy Spirit to reveal to us, the words we read in the Bible, the WORD of God. We read it, but too often don't see it.

In every letter of Paul, save Galatians, he addresses the saints as 'saints'. In fact, neither word, 'disciple' or 'disciples' ever occurs in the Bible again, after Acts 21:16.

It is my belief that our emphasis on making disciples, instead of making saints, has seriously limited the church. God doesn't need disciples today, He needs saints, and it is our task to help the Holy Spirit produce them.

Verses 40 and 41- Peter followed a procedure similar to that used by Jesus when he resurrected Jairus’ daughter. This is the first reported resurrection performed by an apostle.

Verse 21- this was proof that it was Jehovah God’s power and not Elisha’s power that performed the miracles Elisha had accomplished.

Verses 23 and 24- Martha knew that Jesus had performed resurrections but not of anyone who had been dead as long as Lazarus had been. Despite that she still had faith that Lazarus would be resurrected.

The book of Ephesians reminds me of the book of Colossians, because is telling us about being obedient to our parents.
