Maybe it simply means what it says smh. Ye are gods, but man manipulates the meaning to satisfy his own human ego. Who else could God hold a council with? Other gods perhaps??? Stop analyzing and just read the words aloud. They make sense all by themselves

servant; you said,"..the good news of Christ is we don't have to work and keep the Law anymore.." You turn the grace of God into lasciviousness! Is that the Good News? Beware of false prophets, enemies of the cross, who speak not according to the Word because there is no light in them, and they seek to pervert the Word of God after their own ungodly lusts and love of this present evil world!
  • A disciple on Revelation 10 - 8 years ago
Ronald; I hope you don't mind me jumping in here. I agree with you! A few examples: The fourth and final kingdom would be hard and cruel as iron, but mixed with the miry clay; that's the world right now! Jesus told the Jews, "I came in my Father's name and you receive me not; another shall come in his own name and him you will receive." even him whom they WILL NOT GIVE THE HONOR OF THE KINGDOM!

Thank you Lord for hearing my cry and answering my prayers. I am sorry I let you down by not having faith. I tried but was too overwhelmed. Hopefully you will teach me how to do things differently.

Psalm 1 reminds me not to get advice from a woman getting a divorce if I'm going through marriage problems.
  • Rev Gary Pitser on Matthew 24 - 8 years ago
I believe Matthew 24 and St Luke 21 are the same and both are talking about the Second
Coming and not the Rapture of the Church. When they asked this question the Rapture
was still a mystery Paul made it known after Christ was risen.
  • Christ Magnified Glorifying Jesus on Numbers 34 - 8 years ago
Day 36 of Bible Reading in a Year. So much information. I would love to have the time to take and read this with maps in hand. It is so interesting that God did not give them the idea that they were conquerors in the way that other nations and leaders view conquests have and are still today. That is God gave them land and not anymore than what He said he would give them. They were to be Holy.

Wit means know or knowledge; like in the saying, At my wits end. A more clear translation would read: "But, brethren, we make known to you the grace of God..." (Wycliffe Bible)
  • A disciple on 1 Corinthians 1 - 8 years ago
THAT NO FLESH SHOULD GLORY IN HIS PRESENCE (cont. lastly); What the Apostle is talking about is the evidence of God's grace through His Son will produce an utter transformation of character away from the old satanic nature. Therefore to accuse the broken-hearted, humble and obedient who trembles at the Word of God that he is secretly seeking to usurp God's glory, is out of an evil mind of hatred.
  • A disciple on 1 Corinthians 1 - 8 years ago
THAT NO FLESH SHOULD GLORY IN HIS PRESENCE (cont. 2) When you say that we must repent and sin no more; they say, Judge Not! When you say that Christ expects to come to us and find good fruit, and that otherwise why do we worthlessly take up space? They reply, No Flesh Shall Gory In HIS PRESENCE! But go back to the beginning: how are we supposed to be known as Man? Because we ARE MADE IN HIS IMAGE!

THAT NO FLESH SHOULD GLORY IN HIS PRESENCE (cont.) Everyone who really knows what it means to be forgiven its sins and has learned the bitter lessons of its own ruined nature, and how impossibly UNFIT for God's Presence we all are; and how great and beautiful and loving is the Saviour; has no problem understanding the necessity of obedience and bearing good fruit that it is why we are being saved.
  • A disciple on 1 Corinthians 1 - 8 years ago
"..THAT NO FLESH SHOULD GLORY IN HIS PRESENCE" I find it so revolting, how whenever you start talking about bearing good fruit and obedience, someone will spout off as if the fruitful and obedient are seeking their own glory! Small people with little understanding think they have to run to God's defense; but what they really do is persecute the ones whom He has taken great pains to seek and save!

    Deuteronomy 30:12
I think Jesus is the one who brings us to heaven .We have to love our Lord.

How do we know its an Apple Tree, or an Orange Tree? Because of its fruit! How does God know that we are saved and really in the Good Tree? By the fruit! Not every one who says, Lord, Lord, shall enter the kingdom of God, but he that does the will of the Father. If we love Jesus we will necessarily also DO what He says. If we have His Spirit and grace really working in us, then we will reflect it!

BSP; Verse 38 (reply); This is an extremely important point! We see the world is bursting with wanna-be prophets, false teachers, and misguided UN-Spirit-filled expounders of the times; while the Lord said, that the only sign really given to them by God, is the one they all categorically despise and reject; which id the preaching of the cross of Christ. So for all those, all is done in parables.
  • A disciple on Matthew 14 - 8 years ago
BSP; Verses 13,14 (reply); I like how you bring that out. I read this part and can picture all the good people who were stunned and saddened about John being killed, and coming together from all around to find Jesus for help in their trauma. And the Lord feels with them enough, like you said, to put their needs first. He hasn't changed; and He knows what's going on in the world right now with us.
  • A disciple on Romans 1 - 8 years ago
Jimmy; "the power of God unto salvation" does not go forth from Him to us without any effect; but we are, according to the Scriptures and according to the Spirit of Truth abiding in us who obey Him, "Workers Together With God." God created us in Christ "Unto Good Works" in order to be a sign for instruction and to convict the world, in order to save it. The Word of Christ is with power and result!
  • A disciple on Luke 1 - 8 years ago
"Whereby shall I know this, for I am an old man...blah blah blah" An angel appears from our of the right side of the altar of incense, and you become filled with fear, and you hear the angel begin to tell you something absolutely wonderful; and with your very next breath you can't help but show how you have to maintain this stubborn false realism, and demand proof an angel from God is telling you?

I’d like to know what “we do you to wit” means. I know there’s supposed to be a built in dictionary but I can’t figure it out.
  • A disciple on Revelation 10 - 8 years ago
"..and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter. And he said unto me, Thou must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings." As we abide in Jesus and learn to overcome and prove true through our persecutions, trials and temptations, humiliations and chastisements; we increase in wisdom and knowledge, so God can send us to preach His Word, and to Prophesy.
  • A disciple on Romans 1 - 8 years ago
But will faith without works save us? How shall it be known what kind we are if not by our manner of life our spirit our WORKS? Faith without works is like a body without the animation of the spirit, DEAD AS A DOOR NAIL! Talk is cheap! Lip-service, sentimental feelings, SAYING over and over again, I Believe; but not thinking enough of Him whom you say you believe to be careful to DO WHAT HE SAYS?
  • A disciple on Psalms 27 - 8 years ago
"Hear, O LORD, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me." Psalms 27:7 Walking with God in this present evil world we will have enemies and foes, wicked seeking to eat us up like bread. Jesus has said it, that in this world we have tribulation. All the holy Elect Saints from ancient times died waiting on the Promise and not yet seeing it fulfilled. Singing praises when it is a sacrifice will often be the way we are called to go. We who believe in the Lord Jesus and love Him with all our heart, call upon Him constantly for mercy. That is our appointed way in this world and that is the way He has said, "I will never leave thee nor forsake thee." Psalms show the inner life of Christ, and all who are His.

It opens our eyes to see and begin to know what is yet to come. There is "The time" and "The sign"........We should not be deceived.
  • A disciple on Luke 1 - 8 years ago
"For, lo, as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy." God breathed into man's nostrils the Breath of Life and he became a living soul. At the moment of conception, the living soul is replicated and begins to grow in the womb of its mother. The pure and innocent infant's soul rejoices at the voice of God's Blessed Elect because they have Jesus!

"Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee.." Many of us at first glance, have it hard to see the difference between Mary's answer and Zachariah's. But while the words of both were so similar, God knew what was the thought and intention.
  • A disciple on Luke 1 - 8 years ago
"Zachariah said unto the angel, Whereby shall I know this?..And the angel answering said unto him, I am Gabriel, that stand in the presence of God;.." It seems amazing to us how Zachariah could answer like that; to still be so willfully unbelieving even while experiencing a heavenly visitation! It is no virtue or superiority of intellect; but a moral error! We must be people who believe the truth.
  • Ronald Taylor on Revelation 10 - 8 years ago
Bruce, you are absolutely right, we are living in the great tribulation is upon us now,and people don't see it, always expecting it in the future. The reason they cant see it, is because their spiritual understanding of God word has not been opened, therefore they don't understand what they are reading. GOD BLESS.
