    Chris,

I shall merely add, four is a command number for the word become flesh. So soul of man is five. Trespass offering is one fifth of value added thereto. Man's ox and man is considered as one. It is his life.

Four cardinal numbers to indicate gospel is the same whether north south east or west is considered. Four gospels. four is also to indicate according to the word of God. Gen.6.3 has 120 years as a yardstick. 12x10 is not made up arbitrarily. Ten is a man's life. God sets the template of 12 into the life of man. We live thus according to the word of God, in his Son. Breaking down 120 does not contradict itself. 4x3x10.

Why did God give Decalogue and not 12x10? Ten is also number to indicate law of sin and death. The Law of the Spirit is a whole number Seven. In the will of God Israel was no more special than a Gentile. Only in his Son they become special, holy nation, peculiar people.

God has given us His Spirit and Jesus who of God has become wisdom for us. In the usage also the spirit ought to differentiate between a numeral from a tag used to indicate spiritual signiificance.

Generation of man is set against Generation of Jesus Christ. Mt.1.1 100 years have meaning as well as 1000.

    Jesse,

I pray that I do not offend you, brother. Jesus is the beginning of the creation of God, and God placed Him above all, not just humans, until the last enemy is destroyed. Jesus is worthy of these titles. We do not see the apostles teaching that Jesus is the God of the Old Testament, in Acts 3:13, where Peter says, "the God of our fathers hath glorified His Son."

In Revelation 1:17-18 says "he that liveth and was dead and behold I am alive for evermore". God is Spirit and eternal, and can not change, nor even any part of Him die. God sent His Son into this world to be the propitiation for our sins, 1 John 4:10. The law was for man, who could be tempted, Hebrews 4:14, God cannot be tempted James 1:13. Man had to live a perfect life, obedient to the Father, and die that through Jesus's blood, we have redemption, Ephesians 1:7, God is a Spirit.

The phrase "son of man" in the Old Testament is a metaphor or idiom referring to a human being or a mere mortal. God addressed Ezekiel as "Son of Man"; Jesus referred to Himself 80 times as the "Son of Man." In Daniel 7:13-14, Daniel was shown a vision of Jesus after His resurrection ascending to heaven, to His Father, Ephesians 1:17-23, the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory. God does not have a God, 2 Cor. 11:31, Eph. 1:3, Eph. 4:6, 1 Pet. 1:3.

Daniel 10, this is not a vision of Christ; it is an angel, Gabriel. This chapter shows us that battles in the spiritual realm are going on that we do not see or hear. Daniel had prayed and was mourning about what he had been shown would happen to his people and Jerusalem in Daniel 9. In Daniel 10:12-14, Gabriel tells Daniel why he was late coming; this is not a vision of Christ.

I will leave it there; I hope you understand my reply is in love.

    bless,

    Dear Chris,

I agree with the line, 'And I would add, to "rightly divide the Word", I am sometimes guilty of writing down my thoughts as prompted by the Spirit, so I repeat words, not to mentions typos and what not. In small hours my mind keeps going so I write these first in the morning, in a somewhat 'dumping the load' and I need read it twice or thrice to understand myself and many a time it has opened my eyes to see what lay hidden. With one eye left and still holding on, God understands my spirit, and richly dividing the word must be done by the reader at times. Besides I write not to make others understand according to their level of understanding but it is for the glory of my Lord. Besides there is a great congregation out there among the cloud of witnesses, who shall understand perfectly well.

    So it is, brother Chris,

Ok Bennymkje, since you've shared again, I respond. You've quoted Exodus 34:28 (Moses' fasting), Matthew 4:2 (Jesus' temptation), Acts 1:3 (Jesus' Resurrection) to show the importance and connection to "40 days". Supposing I also add to those: Genesis 7:12 (Rain on the Earth), Numbers 13:25 (searching out the land), 1 Samuel 17:16 (Goliath's presentation), Jonah 3:4 (Jonah's cry); how would these other 40 mentions of mine figure in your interpretation? No connection at all, yet the number 40 is consistent so it must be important, shouldn't it?

Whereas Matthew 12:40 (Jonah in the fish's belly) does connect with Jonah 1:17. Why? Because the Lord Himself wanted to give the religious leaders the sign they sought. Jonah wasn't stuck in the belly because Jesus much later would be "in the heart of the earth". Jonah happened to be in the fish for that time and Jesus used that event to describe & prophesy to these leaders that He too would spend the same time in the tomb. The connection & understanding is clear, for Jesus had made it. But to maintain consistency with this, if I introduce 1 Samuel 30:12 (the young Egyptian who was starving for 3 days & 3 nights), then I destroy what sense and connection the Matthew & Jonah verses made to each other. I hope you can see why it is difficult for me, and likely others, to really understand your connections and interpretations.

Though I do agree with you on this: "If every believer knew truth there would not be so many heresies and so many sects"; and I would add, to "rightly divide the Word", so that Word would become much more precious & rich in every heart who hears it.

    Gen.24.6-7 "Free will"

Here the Spirit introduces a new element, which we have from Abraham and not from the Father or the Son. This servant is the forerunner of the apostles."But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed."(Gal.1.8-9). In the case of Sodom God sent two angels so they were angels,-spirits, ministers of flaming fire. Here Rebekah is intended as the bride for the heir of promise. So the nameless servant in charge of the house serves as a double for the angel. Consider the verse,"The Lord God of heaven, which took me from my father's house, and from the land of my kindred, and which spake unto me, and that sware unto me, saying, Unto thy seed will I give this land; he shall send his angel before thee,"(v.6) It is thus both worlds of the Spirit and and of the body are addressed. Jesus also sent his disciples two by two representing both worlds.

Stewardship of man can be seen in the manner the servant managed his travel in vv.10-11

Here is another point we can understand the divine Will. God allowed Rebekah her right to choose." And if the woman will not be willing to follow thee, then thou shalt be clear from this my oath. (v.8) God has not denied anyone of his free will.

"And Abraham said unto him, Beware thou that thou bring not my son thither again." Abraham lived among the Canaanites but with regards to the bride, she had to be bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh. This is the gospel of God and also of the Son.

"And thou shalt take a wife unto my son from thence." In order to establish the sanctity of Abraham's seed the Spirit gave us the posterity of Nahor as well in 23.20-24 In each case the number works out to 12. The Spirit does not leave loose ends in narrating the fulfilment of his Will.

Hello all dear ones. Now we have a golden opportunity to make differences between the sensual hard reality and between the spiritual. What belongs up there and what belongs here in the earthly life. We can see it clearly where the uncertain economy has confused the most conservative among us. And where the sea is in between what is safe and steady to uncertainty and instability. Becomes rebellion and war literally. Where world leaders grab bombs and gunpowder to confirm their point with answers to Western security and prosperity. Where the equivalent is in an injustice. That also means resistance to everything that God has created. When we think that God is kind, caring, Powerful Unique and mm. God in the name of Jesus. We now see an escalation of controlled warfare. We of the people of believers can sense the hard fact that even nature sighs and groans against the coming. We can almost sense the total silence in this. The optimal expectation of the coming of the Lord! Now it is important to come to the Realization of Truth. See the seriousness and stand together in a unity only the Lord can gather us in. Even in early evangelical times, they believed that Jesus would come in their lifetime. Now even more relevant! For we ourselves wander here and there and have almost lost the goal of our step after recognition in Lord Jesus Christ. But He has promised us to never leave us or forsake us! He who is to come. Come Lord Jesus, come according to Your will. You who wage war in righteousness. We who put our trust in You Lord Jesus do not fear wars and the misery created from destruction. We will stand with You until the end! We praise Your name and will do so for all time. Your comfort, Your care will embrace us, and take us Where You want Lord. Home to You, to the place where You have made room for us in Your dwelling. We will stand motionless on the rock and strike with Your sword as long as we can. in our soul, our spirit and with our body, AmeninJesusname.

    Chris,

What does 40 days in the Bible indicate? Or Three? The Spirit is specific to mention 'Moses was with God for 40 days and 40 nights? Exod.34.28. Jesus fasted for forty days before the Spirit led him to be tempted of the devil. He was seen for 40 days after he was risen? The sign of Jonah, Three days and three nights in the belly of a fish, must mean something is it not? I shall not explain further since I have already covered them. If every believer knew truth there would not be so many heresies and so many sects. Darkness was upon the face of the deep. "He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still."(Rev.22.11)

    With greetings in Christ,

Thanks again Bennymkje. I don't think I could add much more; I was just trying to pin down how you interpret the Scriptures & the use of numbers.

You gave in your last paragraph, of the "first four days referring to heaven and the remaining (3) on the earth". So you then multiply 4 & 3 to give 12. Why not add 4 & 3 as an option? Is it because you need to arrive at 12, which then leads to 12x12=144? (Presumably, 12 is the Gospel of God and another 12 to His Son). And then that 144 becomes 144,000, not referring to Israel (which the angel takes great pains to clearly identify by each tribe), but to the left behind of the Church having the DNA of faith. Can you see why such arithmetic & number allocation becomes meaningless to anyone trying to follow this method of biblical interpretation? It clearly makes sense to you so we need to leave it that. Thanks again for your time.
  • Bennymkje - In Reply - 11 months ago
    Dear Chris,

God is a Spirit and God sets the worlds framed by the word so God sets the world of the Spirit where faith is one language and one speech. We have our being and our daily lives among the ungodly. But Giod made us living souls. Truth is part of His gift. So we are to understand what the Spirit describes existing suprareal so whether you believe it or not it has its own existence. If Jonah could communicate with God from the belly of a great fish what is strange about Genesis 2:15-19? If truth cannot connect you with this world what religion are we talking about?

With regards to the 12 tribes of Israel and the number of 144,000 in Rev. ch.7 Israel is a hold all to explain the left behind church The Vision of the woman clothed with the sun gives us two parallel accounts of the woman running to the wilderness of her her place and the other to which God helps find refuge. The tag of time, times and half a time is the key to connect with the book of Daniel and it refers to the Jews. On the other hand the number of days given connects with the church. The church redeems themselves by stepping in place of the nation during the great tribulation, in the manner of Seth and intercession of Jesus Christ for the sinful world. How do we arrive at 144?

The everlasting Covenant in 7 days Gen.ch.1- 2.1-3 : the first four days refer to the heaven and the remaining on the earth. The believer in the Son has access to the blessings from both worlds. In the Father and in his Son. 4x3=12 gospel of God and in his Son makes up the number 12x12=144. God's promise to bless Abraham and ' thy seed' consequently uses this tag referring to Ishamal as well Jacob who is the heir of promise. 144,000 in Ch.7 does not refer to the nation of Israel but those from the left behind church having the DNA of faith. What does Israel truly mean? Those who prevailed over boith God and man. Is it not?

Thank you for your response Bennymkje. If I might refer to it now.

From what I gather concerning Adam & Eve & the garden, you do believe these people existed, but the garden "is a spiritual place" and "is a snapshot illustrating the fellowship of God with Man". I could understand the garden being that common ground where God & man fellowshipped, though I would probably use Genesis 1:28,29 and Genesis 2:15-19 where God speaks to Adam as a more realistic account & example of their fellowship together. And so this would make Eden not some sort of spiritual place but a literal place where these people walked & fellowshipped. But if the real meaning of it is a spiritual place (as you infer), then I ask myself, 'how has this knowledge helped me understand what I'm reading and is it beneficial in some way?'

To Revelation chap 7: 144,000. "Which is more nonsensical than believing 144,000 as a specific number than allowing the 144 as a symbol to explain the believer who is blessed with all spiritual blessings in heaven and on earth?" Does the fact that verses 5 to 8 clearly specify the composition of this great number have any bearing on what you believe as the believer being blessed with all spiritual blessings? This is probably a prime example of how we read the Scriptures. So when reading this from you, the questions that arise are: why is 144 a symbol to explain the believer's spiritual blessings? Where in the Scriptures can we find support in such a manner for this number? How then do you interpret verses 5 to 8 describing the 12,000 numbered & sealed from the 12 tribes of Israel? Knowing that you have disconnected the physical Israel from any future fulfilment of prophecy, the 12,000 from the 12 tribes would then represent whom? Sorry to make this long, but wanted to find out how you arrive at such interpretations when the Bible is so specific in its narrative and any departure from it could very well lead us into error.
  • Bennymkje - In Reply - 11 months ago
    Oh Chris,

The Bible is for our our spiritual instruction in righteousness. Seek therefore the truth.

A river goes out from Eden and it has a purpose. And this garden is a snapshot illustrating the fellowship of God with Man. The latter is Jesus Christ. the Word which was with God. God is uncreated being. Adam is created 'after our image'. So he bears relation to the Son. He is son of God. ( Luke 3.38) .So we have the garden to illustrate this truth.

"God planted the garden and set man and woman as representational examples so with one man's fall sin enters into the world etc", and "It is neither on earth or in heaven as literal minds would make of it".God framed the worlds with his word so this garden you need understand is a spiritual place. Your next question,'What is neither here on Earth nor there in Heaven? Are you referring to Eden? It is is in your inward parts-truth, Chris.

The word of God has sound,-voice of the Lord. It is a sign that it can be written. St Paul writes'Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart./And such trust have we through Christ to God-ward." The sign is 'within us' and if you could read the Bible as it should, this discussion would not have been necessary.

Lastly you write," in the past your use of "command numbers". I ask myself, 'where did these numbers come from'? You have made many such statements which leave my mind floundering.' Which is more nonsensical than believing 144,000 as specific number than allowing the 144 as a symbol to explain the believer who is blessed with all spiritual blessings in heaven and on earth? What is special about the number 12? It is associated with Jacob, Ishamael and with Jesus. Why is is given in so many places. Either you gather with Christ or you scatter them.
  • Chris - In Reply - 11 months ago
Hello Bennymkje. Thank you for your response but even in this, I find it difficult to comprehend what you believe or want us to understand. As an example, you wrote, "God planted the garden and set man and woman as representational examples so with one man's fall sin enters into the world etc", and then wrote, "It is neither on earth or in heaven as literal minds would make of it".

What is neither here on Earth nor there in Heaven? Are you referring to Eden? If so, should we also believe there was no 'literal' Adam and Eve, or even the fall? Your messages come across, to me at least, very confusing, as I can't figure out what you believe to be literal and what should be taken as non-literal. As also another example, in the past your use of "command numbers". I ask myself, 'where did these numbers come from'? You have made many such statements which leave my mind floundering as to their source. Even if one believes that they come from the Spirit revealing the deeper or hidden meanings, then it could be useful for the receiver of those revelations but of little value to the hearer/reader without explanation.

I'm sorry, I am one of those who looks for correct exegesis of the Word first, in the context of the history, people & culture and then seek the Spirit's Help to learn & apply Truths to my life. If I don't, then I can make the Word that I read mean anything I want it to, which I don't believe those authors under the Spirit's guidance, intended the readers to do. The Word of God is to be read simply & naturally, unless clearly with symbolism, and those Truths to be applied to the mind & spirit as needed, by the Holy Spirit.

Hello Texsis, good to hear from you.

Your question is often asked on here and most people who read the account of Cain finding a wife in Nod, or even Abel or Seth, wonder where these women came from because the text does not give information on the other children Adam and Eve conceived but mentions later in Genesis that they had many sons and daughter over their lifetime.

Since we do not have a record of these sons and daughters, their names, nor whom they each married we must extrapolate that the sons and daughters of Adam and Eve, and the children of these sons and daughters and on through the generations until the flood married family members and all had long lifespans, except for Abel who was murdered, those who Laban murdered and any others who were killed by the great violence prior to the flood.

We extrapolate this because Genesis does not say that there were any other humans created besides Adam ad Eve. Also Eve is called the mother of all the living. We are told that in Adam all sin. So there could not have been any other humans created by God next to Adam ad Eve.

The same thing occurred in Noah's family after the flood. All people born after the flood were generated from Noah between his three sons, Shem, Japheth, and Ham. Every human is descended from these three brothers because there was inter-marriage between the offspring of these three sons before people were scattered at the time of Babel. We are not told that each brother's offspring only married their immediate sisters, brothers, first cousins, etc. within their own family headed by one of the three brothers. So, we can deduce that the generations following the flood where all mixed together genetically. Eventually, most likely after Babel, families migrated throughout the world and formed tribes and ethnicities that intermarried within their people group if they were located in an isolated area. But there has always been some marrying outside of the tribal unit since Noah up to today.

I truly appreciated this thought-it deeply warmed my heart and reminded me of God's unchanging faithfulness.

As we meditate on these Scriptures, hope begins to rise within. Jesus gave His life out of love, and He holds the power to take it up again. We are not alone in this journey, and we are not following a new or passing idea. We are grounded in an eternal truth that was revealed from the beginning.

    (Revelation Part 13):

Revelation 1:17 - And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:

And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as a dead man. I would too!

In Daniel Chapter 10 Verses 8 and 9, Daniel did the same thing. When he saw this vision of Christ, he fell down as he was dead. He said I had no strength in my body. I couldn't move. In Ezekiel 1:28, Ezekiel sees the vision and he falls down as a dead man.

In Acts 24:10, Paul describing as he was going along the Damascus road, he said the light of Christ appeared to them, and the whole group fell over as dead men. That's what it's like to be in the presence of Christ! And when I saw him, I fell at His feet as a dead man. And He laid His right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:

In Daniel 10:10, the Lord did the same thing. He came over and He put His hand on me, and this is what He said, fear not, literally, stop fearing! Fear not; I am the first and the last: Again, the designation of God, found in Isaiah 41:4, and Isaiah 48:12.

Revelation 1:18 - I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

I am He that lives, and this is another designation of God found in Psalm 84:2, and Joshua 3:10. I am He that lives. God presents Himself to the Jews as the living God. I am He that lives, and was dead; literally and became dead, and behold, I am living forevermore, His resurrection, His eternalness.

Amen; and I have the keys of hell and of death. Keys are a symbol of authority. Those who were in charge of the temple had the keys to the temple. We'll see later on that the Lord will be in control of hell and death.

    (Revelation Part 12):

Revelation 1:16 - And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.

And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: That's taken from Isaiah 49:2. It is also mentioned later in Revelation Chapter 19 at the second coming of Christ, where it says out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should smite the nations, and He shall rule them with a rod of iron, and tread them in a winepress of the fierceness and wrath of almighty God.

We don't expect to see a literal sword. That's the Jewish way of saying how powerful God's word is. It's like a sword that cuts right through you. We know in Hebrews 4:12, and again, another Jewish literature letter, it says for the word of God is quick, that is, living, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and it is a discerner, that is, a critic, of the thoughts and motivations of the heart.

That's how powerful God's word is. We're not talking about quoting the bible. We're talking about the truth that God's word has. It cuts deep. It's powerful. Out of the Lord's mouth went a sharp two-edged sword.

And His countenance, that is, His face, was as the sun shineth in his strength. The Greek phrase expresses looking straight into the sun at high noon on the brightest day of the year. Wow, what a sight!

That's from Judges 5:31. That's who Jesus Christ is!

    (Revelation Part 11):

    Revelation 1:14 His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;

His head and His hairs were white like wool, as white as snow. That's in Daniel 7:9. It denotes purity.

And His eyes were as a flame of fire. That's found in Daniel 10:6. In fact, in Daniel 10:6, he has pretty much the same vision. He saw the same Christ, but his is scarier than John's. Daniel doesn't say flames of fire; he says His eyes were burning like torches.

Revelation 1:15 - And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.

And His feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace. Brass was used in the Old Testament for the altars. And where all the sacrifices, and where God's judgment was to be poured out, it was to be made of brass. That's found in Exodus 38:1-7. His feet for judgment!

And His voice as the sound of many waters, taken from Ezekiel 43:2. He sounded like a trumpet when He started. Now He sounds like many waters, that deep sound like the waves coming up and crashing onto the rocks, and here is this deep voice now speaking like the sound of many waters.

    (Revelation Part 10):

    Revelation 1:12 - And I turned to see the voice that spake with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks;

He says and I turned to see the voice that spoke with me. And being turned, here's what I saw, he saw two things: I saw seven golden candlesticks; Now everywhere where you see the word candlesticks in the book of Revelation, it's literally the word LUCHNIA, which means lampstand. It's not a candlestick. It is a lampstand.

Revelation 1:13 - And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle.

And in the midst of the seven lampstands one like unto the Son of man. That's the phrase taken from Daniel 7:13. He's called the Son of Man. Again, that's a title. The Son of Man is someone who is over the human race. He's in charge of the human race.

Son of God, who we think is the second person of the trinity, but that's why the Jewish people got upset with Jesus, for saying He was the Son of God, because they know the Son of God is God. Whoever the Son of God is, He's in charge of God. Whoever the Son of Man is, He's in charge of the humans.

    Check out this description:

He was clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps, or chest, with a golden sash. That's taken from Daniel Chapter 10 Verse 5. That's the priestly garment of the Old Testament. He's dressed like a priest.

    (Revelation Part 9):

Revelation 1:11 - Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.

But he says, I heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet, saying to me, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last:

    I wonder who that is!

Interesting, He said Alpha and Omega, but He also said the first and the last. That is the title of God found in Isaiah 41:4 where God told the children of Israel, I am the first, and I am the last. Isaiah 41:12 is another verse of where that exact phrase comes from.

    I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, what you see, write in a book, and send it to the seven churches which are in Asia;

And we've seen those seven churches. But it is interesting, this is the first part that He told him, write what thou hast seen. So, what you see, write it down and send it to the seven churches. But it is interesting, and we will see when we study these seven messages, is that this is one letter going to each of the seven churches, the church unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.

These are not seven different messages that are going to go out to each one of these churches. Everybody's going to get all the other messages. And the Lord's going to say after the message to each church, and He's talking about the blessing of those who hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches, plural.

So, it's not just one church. It's all of them!

    Hello Gabby2020,

I apologize that you will not find that in the Bible; that comes from Dante's Inferno. Dante Alighieri was an Italian poet and philosopher. Some may disagree, but the immortal soul and Hell/Hades, where people's souls go after death, originate from Platonism. This ancient Greek philosophy, along with the captivity in Babylon, influenced some of the Jews before the time of Christ, and Greek philosophy subsequently influenced the Church, and it was adopted into Christianity in the second and third centuries.

    Dear Chris,

    You write,

"Others who believe that God created other humans as well (before or after Adam) to show that the Adamic race mixed with these others also, don't base their belief on biblical revelation, but in fact go against it." Does it?

God framed the worlds by the word of God and the Spirit is not giving us a treatise in ethnography but of faith, the one language and one speech. God planted the garden anset man and woman as representational examples so with one man's fall sin enteres into the world etc.,It is neither on earth or in heaven as literal minds would make of it. So man after the fall chooses according to their free will. In the story of Noah we have the dove coming with an olive leaf plukt of and nations populating the new earth and these are to be understood as the Spirit has stated it. Where faith is the one speech and one language either we believe the word as inerrant. This is merely my understanding of the Bible. We explain the spiritual with spiritual passages.

    Gen.23.19 "The cave"

"And after this, Abraham buried Sarah his wife in the cave of the field of Machpelah before Mamre: the same is Hebron in the land of Canaan."

God himself introduced the matter of death,'And thou shalt go to thy fathers in peace; thou shalt be buried in a good old age". (15.15) The Spirit now placing on record the burial place for Sarah," and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of people shall be of her."(17.16). Faith made her reckoned as the matriarch so her age is set down as with her Lord and spouse. "And Sarah was an hundred and seven and twenty years old."(23.1) The Spirit also records where she is buried so in the Bible her burial place is as memorial as of the shepherd king David, and Simon Peters refers to it. "let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day."( Acts 2.29) The phrase 'unto this day' refers to Jesus Christ and the day of regeneration.

Now what is the significance of the purchase price? 'This land is mine' and field and the cave establishes tha fact we are sojourners and pilgrims on the earth. Patriarch Abraham would not accept the gift of king of Sodom; neither would he in the land of Canaan. "and Abraham weighed to Ephron the silver, which he had named in the audience of the sons of Heth, four hundred shekels of silver, current money with the merchant." A formal transaction before the Gentlles, in the very place God had promised to him. The generations of 'thy seed' are set in context of the Son according to the word. '4x100' represents generation of Jesus Christ. "And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs,.../and afterward shall they come out with great substance. (15.13-14) This great substance, is faith,'faith is the substance of things hoped for' we have here set down." For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God." (Heb.11.10)

    Gen. 22.17 Two worlds (2 of 2)

What are these two worlds? " thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore." They are as different as ways of God are as different as of man."neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.

/For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways" (Isa.55.8-9) Ministry of of Jesus Christ is to reconcile these two ways in one. So we can fathom why God willed that all his fulness in Jesus Christ should dwell..

The Law of the Spirit ratified the everlasting Covenant in the case of Abraham and blessed him as the father of many nations. We find these two worlds having faith as common factor. "Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable./These all died in faith." (Heb.11.12-13)

Faith brings both gospel of God and of Jesus Christ bear upon the man who enters into the Covenant. So 12x12 makes his volume derived from both heavenly and earthly blessings. This can be explained from two instances in the book of the Revelation. " And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads."(Rev.14.1) Second group are the martyrs."And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God."(15.3) The number 144,000 (Ch.7.4) refers to them. Also note the sea of glass on which the throne stood. 'And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal.' (Rev.4.6). Clear as glass or crystal is found associated with the holy city of God which is " And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel"(Rev.21.15-17).

Dear friends in grace. This is a recurring question.

And it seems that many accept Adam and Eve as the first people. And I do not disagree with that. But I add that they were the first in Adam's line. They were the first in Jesus' genealogy. Then we also see that the question is no longer so relevant. Don't get me wrong now.

Because studies and discoveries of remains have been found from as far back as 6000 years. And there must have been other people or similar people on earth. Because if we think about the navel, the whole question is put in doubt. Did God who created man just do some experiment? Or did He have to know in advance that the navel would not turn out well in the long run. No, God has planned everything, but He regretted that he created man because everyone is intractable and they have shown themselves to go back and make the same mistake 70 times 7 equals 490 times. Here I think Jesus had a good margin, otherwise He would not have said it.

Adam had a function: To take care of the Garden of Eden, imagine he walked with God there in the Garden. If the whole earth was Garden as some say. Then we cannot ignore that Adam then again, is the first person that God made in His image. Therefore we must also add the spirit and soul not just the body. Remember God breathed life into Adam so he became a living spirit/soul. He did not do that with everyone who was born. It wasn't necessary. Adam became a living soul. And the last Adam became a life-giving spirit.

    1 Cor:15-47

So believe in God and believe in the scripture. Hold on to the word that is clear enough. If one is willing to see things as it is written. Like all who think about God's word every day, we meet people who constantly want to discuss this subject. And do not imagine that they come from the good. Here the evil one is to sow doubt, to cause us to stumble. To misjudge the word of God. If there are matters we talk about that we have not really received light on, it is best to let it be. Christ love

    Gen.17.1 "Perfect" (1 of 2)

"he Lord appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect." In an earlier instance we read God assuring him thus. " Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward."(15.1) Here we are looking at the Covenant as working in the nations. The blessing in his Son consequently is anchored on Abraham who is the friend of God. As a friend He confides of the judgment over Egypt,"And also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance." What is the great substance promised to his seed? It cannot be in terms of worldly goods since the Israelites were slaves; besides Abraham would not even take a shoe latchet from the king of Sodom the nation God had set apart for destruction. What God allowed the former slaves were their back wages.

We have it mentioned " That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies; And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice." (22,17-18) What better reward can anyone have than God who assures the patriarch,'I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward'?

This reward is becoming part of the glorious spiritual body of Christ. So faith is one and it is what obeying the voice would mean. It is thus the Law of the Spirit has twelve as a tag for the gospel: the compound number Twelve made up of 3x4=12 The Covenant in seven days blessings in heaven take uo the first four and on earth it three which makes up the compound number. Four is the command number for the word and Three is a tag for the Son.

These seven days as stipulated in the Covenant is Person specific. which is by the Law of the Spirit is ratified.
