That's why I like that movie the Shack. The guy figured out that God wanted him to forgive his daughters murderer. God says it's about you taking your hands off his neck (so to speak). The guy asks how many and "God" says 7x70, 500.

There's a Biblical principle that sin is passed from the third and fourth generation, but, BUT, Jesus is our great equalizer! Because if you make Jesus your Lord and Savior, then no matter what your parents or grandparents have done, or even you have done in the past you can be set free, all you have do is say, "Lord, I am a sinner, please forgive me for all my sins, and wash me clean so I can stand clean before You. Be my Savior and my Lord, make me into the person You want me to be, take all of me, I am Yours, in Jesus' precious Name."

Now, start reading your Bible, starting with the Gospel of John, then Romans, (they're in the New Testament) and stay connected to Christian people like this group, and when churches start opening up, find one in your neighborhood and become a part of them, you let them minister to you for a while, then get involved..

"But i suffer not a woman to teach". You have to remember and know that back then women were not taught nor as a whole literate. Women who tried to teach often had no idea to what they were speaking because they were not taught, and that led people astray. Paul would have also known that Deborah was a female prophet who taught the word of God. I believe women can be pastors, but they should not be the sole authority. A female pastor could work with a male pastor or come in for lessons and teaching, but should not be the sole authority in the church unless there is no one else to teach. We are all called to share the word of God. "Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection." Since women were not taught Paul was very for the rights of women. Look at it as if you were in school, when a teacher is talking you are to learn and be silent, so that you may hear and understand.

The Bible says, that ALL who call on the name of the LORD shall be saved, Jews, Greek, and the rest of us Gentiles alike, were grafted in to the Vine, which is Jesus ( John 15). As for predestination, gives the omniscient God the final say in the lives of mankind, (the all knowing, all seeing God knows who is His), in other words, it's a heart issue.

The Lord will answer your prayer if you call upon him but it does not just go that way. You have to be one of his because if not he won't here your prayers.

Thanks for your time and response. I agree that the word star or stars can be used as literal stars or used symbolically. I've never spent much time researching every reference to the word star or stars so I have nothing much to share in this area. I think you've answered my question and I do appreciate your time.

A question I always ask with respect to Genesis 10 is, "Why did God spare Noah and his family, knowing they were also the product of Adam's sin and would eventually disobey God?"

The response is very simple. God could not destroy or take Noah up to heaven with Him and start over again. Why? Had God rid the earth of sinful humanity, He would not have been able to carry out His Plan. But what was God's Plan? His Plan, from before time or creation, was Christ ( Col 1:16). Everything was created FOR the purpose of Christ to enter creation to eradicate corruption in all of creation ( Heb 10:5).

It was necessary for God to continue with Noah, because Noah was part of the Plan drawn before creation, to continue the human race, so Christ could enter the world. God was not reacting to a situation gone bad, when He told Noah to build the Arc. He was implementing His Plan in keeping with what He had already outlined in the Book of Life. See Daniel 10:21, 12:1, Rev 13:8 and Ps 139:16, among others.

To have a better understanding of these things and why God allows evil, it is essential to know that God created with a specific Plan. He created to rid creation of evil. But to do that, He had to initiate a process that takes time. And that process involved a fallen humanity. Not that God caused men to sin, but He subjected men to sin, so He could, through Christ, squash it. The unfortunate fact is that creation is susceptible to corruption and the only way to fix it is Christ.

The word Lilith appears 1 time in the King James in Isaiah 34:14 The wild beasts of the desert shall also meet with the wild beasts of the island, and the satyr shall cry to his fellow; the screech owl also shall rest there, and find for herself a place of rest. (the king James translators used screech owl for Lilith)

In the Jewish encyclopedia: Lilith was the first "wife" of Adam prior to Eve, she left him cause she did not want him to be "on top" and she went to become the wife of samael. Where do they come up with this stuff? Only in the minds of certain Rabbis as it is NOT in the Bible. This is why Paul wrote in Titus 1:14 Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth.

Reply to Too Confused on Genesis 10. My perspective on sin might be a little different, if you can stay with me. 2Tim1:9 and Titus1:2 tell us that God created with the Plan of Redemption in mind. That is, the Purpose for which God created, was to redeem us and all of creation (Rom8:17f), from corruption. That includes death, evil, pain, suffering, sin, moral and physical corruption. In fact, God created everything that exists so that Christ could have a human body through which to eradicate, annihilate, destroy, evaporate corruption for all eternity and thereby establish perfection forever (Heb10:5, Dan9:24).

The Bible tells us that the first one to be corrupted was an Angel (Isa14 and Eze28). His name was Lucifer. Then corruption was found in him. It should be noted that corruption is not something that happens overnight. It creeps in. When a piece of metal begins to rust, you might not even notice it. Corruption takes time. And just as Lucifer corrupted over time, Adam and Eve also corrupted over time. The Bible narrative in Genesis makes it seem as if once they ate the apple, they immediately became corrupt and sinful. But that is not realistic. A reading of Song of Solomon 2 paints a better picture of what happened in the Garden of Eden. In fact, Romans 8 tells us there were those alive at the time Adam and Eve lived, that did not commit the sin of Adam.

But God's Plan included Adam's fall, because had Adam not fallen into corruption, Christ would not have been part of the Plan. Unfortunately, Christ was necessary because corruption was an inevitable consequence of creation. Recall that the Plan came before the creation. Because the deterioration of the character and physical nature of Adam affected his genetic makeup, something we have a better understanding of today, his offspring (humanity) inherited his corrupt nature. Hence, we are all corrupt (Ps14:3).

So, sin is not entirely a matter of the will, but of a corrupt nature. PURPOSE DRIVEN CREATION

I have heard of a woman called lilith, supposed she and Adam bumped heads because they were equals. Maybe Adam killed her? But people think she remains on earth and at one point when sdam and eve are away from each other Adam has a one night stand with this lilith because it says during there time apart adam is at his worst, he is very distraught.

I don't know where it talk about this. Please understand i don't think its ok to question any of this because i don't know if I am pointing out a real honest point that most don't see, or my interpretation is off and its wrong to think this way.

The words his and their mean he has a kind. I can't think of a better word. He comes from a family or society. Idk how to put this. It is really hard to understand this. Charles, from your question, can I understand that you're referring to how the 'white man' looks at those 'of colour'? Or, maybe, their apparent difficult existence in society? This is not an easy topic to properly address as there are so many factors involved. Most of it can fall under misconceptions from preconceived ideas with societal biases, or maybe a lack of better opportunities for education or careers, standard of living, or personal development. Then of course, & particularly in countries where governments give little concern to the welfare of their citizens, those people are forced to lead difficult & oppressive lives in a hand-to-mouth existence.

So, I will never accept that it is ever God's Will that they, or anyone, should live such a life with such biases against them. We are all created equally and loved by God equally; man, in his sin & sometimes demeaning, negative attitude to people of colour, is the root of any apparent inequality, not God. In his quest for superiority & forcing into submission, people of all persuasions, have placed an unnatural, sinful bias against others, whether in the matter of colour, career, status, wealth, etc.

But when that sinner is saved through the Blood of Christ, we see others as Jesus sees us. Colour, status, etc. no longer are issues, but rather, the destiny of the spirit. Comparison of how much each one has, then becomes, are we concerned and supportive of the one that has little or nothing? Not saying that non-Christians are not receptive to these godly traits, but these should be the qualities & perceptions of every child of God & who holds no biases against others, whoever they might be or how they might appear in society. Governments have generally gone a long way to deal with this, but sadly, the human heart remains largely unpliable.

DWL, Rev 21:8 does indeed speak of such sinners being deserving of the second death. But these are not Christians, washed in Christ's Blood & forgiven from the old carnal life of sin & disobedience, but speaks of those who are without Christ & have lived carelessly given wholly over to a life of unabated sin.

Does this new position we have in Christ give us licence to behave as those in verse 8? Rom 6:1,2: "What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?" It is impossible for a Spirit-filled person to pursue such a lifestyle, or else if he so chooses to do, he would need to examine him/herself & get back to the foot of the Cross. And yes, it is possible (indeed, probable), that a Christian will trip up & commit sin, as we still exist in this body of sin & thus continue to be an open gateway for Satan to tempt us. But our response & recourse is instantaneous & sure, as we seek forgiveness & resolve in His Strength to avoid sin's pull & our grieving the Lord.

In the 7th Seal, the Trumpets are introduced. This Seal signifies the last days of the Great Tribulation of Matthew 24. The Trumpets sound at the very last hour of the Tribulation. Then the Bowls of the Wrath of God are found in the last Trumpet. It is that last hour that is referred to as The Day of The Lord or Day of His Wrath. See 14:7.

In any case, Genesis 37:9 is a reference to people, more specifically, Joseph's brothers. Now, although the reference in Judges 5:20 appears to be to Angels, it is more specifically a reference to earthly Kings at war.

In Revelation 22:16, Jesus refers to Himself as The Bright and Morning Star.

Joel 2:10 seems to be speaking of more than just stars. It is speaks of the powerful and influential, whose luster, whose brightness, whose power, appeal and influence are diminished by the army of God. But who is that army? It is an army of people.

Again, who is the star in Revelation 9:1?

Hi, Jesse. I am by no means an authority on these things, but a cursory review of the use of stars in the Bible show their use can be literal or symbolic. In Isaiah 13:10, the meaning appears to be literal. Yet in Revelation it is figurative.

In Genesis, for example, God created the stars. These are the astronomical bodies we observe at night. However, sometimes things said in the Bible have a double meaning. A star can represent an actual star, while at the same time, there is an underlying allusion to Angels, people in positions of leadership or authority.

In Revelation 12:4, we see a reference to Angels, while in 12:1 the stars represent something else. Some commentators agree that 12:1 is a symbolic reference to the 12 Apostles. Here we have a reference to Christ and the devil. Genesis tells us, in keeping with this passage, that Satan and his angels were cast to earth. Daniel 8 is also supportive of this interpretation.

In Revelation 8:10-12 we see how stars may take on other meanings. Is the star an angel, a meteor, an earthly leader or what some might call an environmental catastrophe, the result of pollution and adverse weather conditions?

Keep in mind, while reading Revelation, that what is written is not outlined in chronological sequence. There is a back and forth in time, that may make understanding particularly difficult. So, what Revelation 8 or 12 or other Chapters reveal, are not necessarily sequential events. The same is true for the rest of the book.

But if you notice, in the 6th Seal, in Chapter 6:13, the stars are cast down. And everyone is afraid and all hide. The symbolism of the stars here, while many mistake them for literal stars, is about governments, powers, authorities and war.

Carol, I hear you. So let's take the 10 Commandments, which according to you, we have to obey in its entirety. As well, when I see God's Laws, I see ALL of them that require obedience, not just the '10', but the whole deal. You say that the sacrificial part of those Laws were done away with through Christ's Sacrifice: how very true, but why are those laws negated and the 10 Commandments somehow excluded? You did say that they reflect "God's Character", & this too is true as they also show man's responsibility & behaviour. But, to those under the Law (Jews), "if he shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all" (Js 2:10); telling us that the breaking of one Law makes us (read: the Jews) guilty of all God's Laws.

And so, Paul became (appeared) "as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are UNDER THE LAW, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law" ( 1 Cor 9:20). But, "to them that are WITHOUT LAW (us Gentiles), as without law, (being not without law to God, but UNDER THE LAW TO CHRIST,) that I might gain them that are without law" ( 1 Cor 9:21). So, if we Gentiles are not under the Law, but now under Grace ( Rom 6:15), then the whole Law (for the Jew) has been nailed to the Cross: "Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross" ( Col 2:14). So, in truth, those under Grace, are not bound by any of God's Laws (to the Jews, or else not only keeping the Sabbath, but also of circumcision are binding), but all (both Jews & Gentiles), whether previously under the Law or not, are now released from its obligations & punishment, BY CHRIST'S Sacrifice alone. Therefore, e.g. "Thou shalt not kill" ( Ex 20:13) now becomes Mt 5:21,22: anger without cause becomes murder. God's Laws showed man his sin but couldn't cleanse him - the Law of Christ takes us way beyond that, as we fully obey Him through the His Spirit ( Rom 7:6).
