Mat 24:38 - For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
Mat 24:39 - And knew not until the flood came, and took (WHO?) them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of
man be.
Mat 24:40 - Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
Mat 24:41 - Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
Mat 24:42 - Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.
The WICKED were TAKEN and Noah was LEFT BEHIND at the end of the flood.
Luke 17:26 - And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.
The WICKED were TAKEN and Noah was LEFT BEHIND
1 Peter 3:20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.
The WICKED were TAKEN FIRST and Noah was LEFT BEHIND
Luk 17:27 - They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.
Luke 17:28 - Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;
Lot was left behind - the wicked were taken
Luke 17:29 - But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.
Luke 17:30 - Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.
So do we want to be taken or left behind?
Matthew 5:5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
The 144,000 is a biblical teaching. The Jehovah's Witnesses just misapply it. If I remember correctly, they say that the 144,000 are J.W.'s. But the bible tells us in the book of Revelation that the 144,000 that are sealed are Jews, 12,000 from each of the 12 tribes of Israel.
That's the 144,000 Jews who were sealed back in Revelation Chapter 7, that at Christ's second coming, He will gather them to Himself there in Jerusalem at Mount Sion. They are sealed by God so that they cannot be harmed. They are saved, all 144,000 of them. But there will be many Gentiles (You and I), many more than 144,000 who will also be saved, and are saved now.
The "Nihil Obstat" in the Catholic bible means that it has been certified for use by the Catholic church. Are you Catholic? The reason I ask is because their teaching on salvation is different from the biblical teaching. It is more of a works based salvation, not the biblical teaching that a person must repent, receive Christ, and surrender their life to Him.
A person must trust in Christ alone for their salvation, not trusting in man's teachings, regardless of what church fellowship they belong to. Salvation comes by receiving Christ. Receiving Him is Spiritual. It has nothing to do with physically receiving Him every time a person receives communion. Shelagh, have you received Christ?
Ecclesiastes 9:10
"For in death there is no remembrance of thee: in the grave who shall give thee thanks?"
Psalms 6:5
"Shall thy wonders be known in the dark? and thy righteousness in the land of forgetfulness?"
Psalms 88:12
"Men and brethren, let me speak freely to you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his tomb is with us to this dayFor David did not ascend into the heavens"( Acts 2:29, 34)
Our hope in Christ is the hope of the resurrection.
"For as by a man (Adam) came death, by a man (Jesus) has come also the resurrection of the dead." 1 Corinthians 15:21
What is important here as a Christian is to recognize your sins, drop them before the Lord. See yourself as an unworthy person who needs mercy from God and who has done something wrong knowingly (as a youth/adult) and unknowingly (as a child/infant/ignorant of the laws); thereby requesting for grace, mercy and compassion from the Lord.
God has shown his love for man in that while Abraham gave-up Isaac for the sacrifice in obedient to God's demand for testing of his faith, God gave His only begotten Son (born & not created) to save mankind, sending the Holy Spirit to confirm the Son's authority.
This is why when Christ was baptised, A voice came from heaven (Father) declaring Jesus (His Son), and a dove patched on Jesus (Holy Spirit) to show what is later termed as "Trinity" by the Orthodox churches. We must seek salvation and the door of salvation is always open to them that seeks grace, mercy and God's love. Remain blessed in Jesus Name - Amen.
For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins. As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers' sakes. For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance. For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief: Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy. For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all. O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!
Praise GOD who is rich in His Mercy and His Grace for all of us. Maybe the key lies with "Patience" for all not wishing that any should perish but that all should come to faith in JESUS also as written above thru our mercy.
Romans 11:1
I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham of the tribe of Benjamin.
Israel stumbled at the cross, and fell at the stoning of Stephen.
BUT through their (Israel's) fall, salvation came to the Gentiles through the apostle Paul and the gospel, believing in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, all by grace through faith.
God will resume His prophetic program with Israel after The Body Of Christ is raptured (taken) out of the way.
Lucifer is a created being.
Not the same!
The wheat are Israel who DID believe that Jesus was The Christ (Messiah) of God.
At the harvest of the world, at the end of the Tribulation, angels are the reapers, tares are gathered and burned, wheat are left.
The Rapture is a Mystery revealed to Paul for the Body Of Christ, both Jews and Gentiles, who believe in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, by grace through faith.
Two different programs!
hearts,in our bodies, and souls.HIGH AND LIFTED UP IS OUR GOD.LET us pray without ceasing.
In Hebrew, this Name is, "Ehyeh asher Ehyeh" & the direct English translation is, "I will be what I will be". However, we generally understand it to be, "I AM what I AM". And then to explore this Name further, we find that it encompasses other aspects of God's Being. Therefore, to fully realize the Fullness of His Name, we could describe it as: "He is the self-sufficient, self-sustaining, self existent God Who was, Who is, and Who will be". The meaning also conveys: He has dominion over all things, the Source of His Power, and His Eternal Nature. (Note, this extended description copied from Bible Study Tools). This meaning, was to Israel, an understandable description of the God Who has sustained & Who will carry them out of their oppression in Egypt.
However, to leave this Special Name without its full application would be irresponsible. Jesus often uses this term, mostly in a general way when seen in the Gospels, but more specifically in Rev 1:8, 11, 17 & others, where His usage of I AM, is clearly to denote His equality with the Father (The I AM) & a veiled reference to Jesus' Creative Work with the Father ( Gen 1:26).
People have made lots of money writing those, 'WHY do bad things happen to good people, who do good things, books.'
How very deeply we bury things we don't want to see.
If we would search hard enough and submit to be searched by the Holy Spirit, he will reveal a gem.
1 John 2:22 - Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. (ALL Jews deny Jesus and that makes them antichrist, if they believed in Jesus then they would be CHRISTIANS. IF you do not believe me call any Synagogue and ask them if Jesus is the Messiah.)
1 John 2:23 - Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.
If Jews do not accept Jesus as messiah, then who is their messiah?
1 Corinthians 16:22 - If any man love not the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be Anathema (CURSED) Maranatha.
DO JEWS LOVE JESUS OR ARE THEY CURSED?
It is particularly sad that he also preaches from the Word of God, so we can only trust the Spirit to convict him as he meditates on the Word. It is also such a sad thing, when there are so many men in particular, who seem to overlord it over others; and the more painful, if this happens in holy marriage. This is a nasty characteristic that could show a deficiency in their own understanding or appreciation of themselves, or even if they have been dominated in earlier years, & so the response is now an overbearing, superior attitude over others to compensate.
He may not even be aware that he is doing it to you or that his behaviour is affecting you so badly, but if he wants to take his marriage seriously, he needs to deal with this issue in himself first. Anyway, I'm sure a good Christian counsellor or mature Pastor/elder will be able to help him & you work through all this. Is your husband approachable in this matter? Will he talk it over with you or a Christian counsellor? Is he even aware of your hurt feelings? I'm not asking for answers here, just questions for you to consider.
And you shouldn't allow your self-esteem to diminish due to his behaviour or in your presence with others. We are the Lord's purchased possession, & you have qualities & inner beauty from God not seen in so many others. ( Prov 31:10, 25, 26, 30; 1 Pet 3:2-4, are a few Scriptures to show the true beauty that God looks for & blesses). Commit all these matters to the Lord, as I'm sure you are, & let the Beauty of the Lord fill you & your husband's vision, that he might have a Heavenly perspective & not of the Earth or himself. May the Lord help you mightily as you daily trust Him.
