"This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church." Jesus taught the contentious Jews ( John 8) that being Abraham's seed didn't make them Children; but those walking after the same Spirit that Abraham walked those are the true Children. So with respect to being Children of God by faith in Jesus Christ our Lord it is known what kind we are by the kind of behavior and character.

  • A disciple on Ephesians 6 - 8 years ago
Hi Cheryl; What it means is that there is a spiritual world underlying the physical world as we see it; and that it is not against flesh and blood, but against spirits and their dominions over men and whole regions of the world. We can see that happening in the smallest towns and the largest cities and entire Countries and cultures what great spiritual and moral war right now is everywhere.

Romans 10:10 "For with the heart man believes unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." Ezekiel 33:31 "And they come unto thee as the people comes, and they sit before thee as my people, and they hear thy words, but they will not do them: for with their mouth they shew much love, but their heart goes after their covetousness." In the Sermon on the Mount Jesus began to teach us what it means to have the kingdom of heaven within us what was true religion and piety, and what was false. MAny times and many ways He protests to us, "Thou shalt NOT be as the hypocrites!" Yet the doctrine of the Pharisees persists and multitudes believe that merely "Mouthing" the words is all it needs to get their names in the Divine Registry! You can't put words in someone's mouth that isn't in their heart and without the truth in the heart, the words will not mean a thing to God. They have to know the Truth in order to acknowledge the Truth unto a saving faith in Christ. "You cannot give what you haven't got!"

That is a good question. I have been told that the Bible is its best commentary. After reading the Bible, in other scripture, we find that God is triune, or simply put, consist of three. The Father, The Son Jesus, and The Holy Spirit. The new testament Iinforms us of this. In the book of Matthew, in the last chapter, we read that Jesus told his apostles to baptize in those three names or titles.

Anyone who has stood before an assembly preaching or teaching knows how true verses 1-5 are. The Holy Spirit just takes over and it is not your words, but His. Those of us that may lack the confidence to preach or teach Jesus, know that Paul also relied on not his own ability, but the words of the Holy Spirit. AMAZING

Verse 26 states: "And God said , Let us make man in our image"..........who might the "us" and "our" be a reference to?
  • A disciple on Luke 13 - 8 years ago
"Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbers it the ground?" We were not born into this world for ourselves to idly "cumber the ground" that we occupy. We are made by God and for God and God has provided all things for us to live and be saved. If we don't produce good fruit we are worthless!

Favourite psalm, it says everything, it’s short, and easy to recall. It’s also very beautiful and
Reassuring. Reminds us that God is there and protecting us from harm, if we call on him.
Thank you king David for reminding us of His love.

Charles; Don't be afraid, trust in the Lord! He has promised that not one of those which the Father has given Him shall perish; and a bruised reed He will not break, nor will He quench a smoking flax. No one is able to pluck us out of the Father's hand! Keep reading your Bible every day, and resist the devil's temptations by standing on the Scriptures. Never give up!
  • Peter A. Okebukola on Psalms 28 - 8 years ago
Our God is a just God. He will protect us against our enemies only if we are right with Him. We cannot expect to be in sin and expect grace to abound. David knew this all too well. He was punished for his sins but when he repented and got his way right with God, he enjoyed God's protection from his enemies.
  • Charles Bonsu on Ephesians 6 - 8 years ago

  • Ann Hering on Daniel 9 - 8 years ago
The 70 Weeks of Daniel 9:24 are Israel's Babylon captivity to lay land fallow.

The Threescore and Two Weeks (62x7weeks =434 years) of Daniel 9:25 is the 400 years of silence (between Malachi to Matthew) AND Jesus' 34 years on this Earth.

Jesus has to serve 2 weeks total, 7 years for Leah (oldest) THEN for Rachel (younger) 7 years of Tribulation (Rachel's Weeping) the week of Daniel 9:27.

  • MARILYN MANOCCHIO on Matthew 18 - 8 years ago

FOR THE KEYS TO SUCCESS IS PERSERVERANCE AND HUMILITY. GOD BLESS AND I PRAY THAT EACH AND EVERY CHRISTIAN IN THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE - THAT WOULD BE ON A UNIVERSAL BASIS MEANS WE SHOULD STRIVE TO BE MORE LIKE JESUS EACH DAY.
  • Alex on Matthew 5 - 8 years ago
Sin is the trangression of the law and Jesus says he came not to do away with the law but to fulfill the law but by his death we will all get a seed an incorruptible seed resulting in a birth of Christ in us and them that are born of God cannot sin thus our new innerman cannot sin simply b/c he is born of GOD, Thats how he will destroy mans propsensity to sin thus fulfilling the law
