Just as isaac was the child of Promise under the old covenant, under the new covenant it THE HG. that is the child of Promise which is the N.B. IMMANUEL God with us,the multiplication of Abraham was just a metaphor for the multiplication of very God in humanity via the seed of the sower which is our new man, he is not born of the will of man nor of blood nor flesh but of the will of God th PROMISE
  • A disciple on Revelation 1 - 8 years ago
Daniel; You are so right with that! Adding to the fact, that the "times ARE at hand" and already in the action! The big problem I see with looking for some obscure future event, as if it were something outside or disconnected from the world right now is just as you say; many will be unprepared and therefore scandalized when the trap is suddenly sprung; while they should have already recognized it!

  • Alex on Romans 9 - 8 years ago
Romans 9 tells us that ITS the children of Promise that are counted for the good seed, the children of the flesh are NOT the children of God, its the children of Promise that are THE good seed, which are them that are born of the SPIRIT,ETC the seed of Christ his seed being the WORD that is gonna be sown in us resulting in a birth of Christ in us, Immanuel GOD WITH US thus NEW INNERMAN th PROMISE
  • Daniel J. Smith on Revelation 1 - 8 years ago
The pre-tribulation is false doctrine, conceived by Satan and propagated by men in the late 1800's, primarily John Darby. The danger with the doctrine is twofold. First, it will cause many believers to question their faith, if not lose it completely, when they remain after the Tribulation begins. Secondly, the concept will result in many not being Spiritually prepared to face the difficult times.
  • Brother Daniel FC on Colossians 2 - 8 years ago
Some are beguiled in thinking that they can keep the spirit of the Law without paying attention to the letter of the Law: it is impossible! If anything, the spirit of the Law is more difficult to keep... but not impossible. For example, Jesus said: whosoever looks on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart ( Mat 5:28). He expands the meaning of the letter.

Verse 14. I think It means when strife is started from letting your mouth loose(letteth water) means from loose tongue. Brings (contention)meaning brings tention to your lips and out your tongue, it starts off a meddling you will be messed with. Off that. So basically stop talking

  • Son of David on 1 Peter 1 - 8 years ago
Peter teaches that Faith isn't something to have but something thst is evolved thru purification of fiery temptation, but the knowledge of the truth that Jesus, the Christ (because Christ wasn't a name butan office)came in the flesh and taught an advanced class in Religion, revealing the existence of God, and certified his thesis by returning in Transfiguration as a testament, so sealing our fate
  • Alex on Isaiah 53 - 8 years ago
When they beat him they didn,t know it but they were just multipling him, when a seed is beaten or bruised it dies quickly and reproduces a bigger crop, thats y David said they plowed long upon my back they made deep furrows on my back thats y jesus said unless a seed falls into the ground and DIES IT ABIDES ALONG BUT IF IT IT DIES IT PRODUCES MUCH FRUIT meaning all of humanity will get a SEED.

Son of David; I like your kind and non-condemning way to look at it, but I think the younger son was rather looking for the party than a way to make his living. He squandered all his money on sin and selfishness, and brought disgrace to his father's name; and his repentance was marked by acknowledging the truth that he was not fit to be called anymore a son, and acceptance of his punishment.
  • Randy on Romans 6 - 8 years ago
Emanuel:The law of the spirit of life and truth has made us free from the law of sin and death. By the law we are made free from the law. Dead to sin...free to marry another...His righteousness! The flesh profits nothing because Jesus condemned sin in the flesh for us. Took it out of the way, as far as the east is from the west. Now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus! LORD BLESS YOU

It seems to not matter how many times Yahwey brings the children of Israel through, after they see his wonderous works, after they beg him they still go against him.
  • A disciple on Proverbs 28 - 8 years ago
Frances; You misread it! The Scripture reads: "To have respect OF persons (not, 'for' persons) is not good: for for a piece of bread that man will transgress." Respect of persons means you favor one over another; respect for persons means you treat them with dignity. James chapter 2 shows very well what "respect of persons" means; and further likens it to murder to despise and mistreat the poor.

Mark (lastly); In any case the Lord was always kind and a friend to His friends and we should follow His example in every aspect of our dealing with each other. Maybe it wasn't light enough yet that Jesus wasn't immediately recognized? Maybe too Peter and the others were just like they had been up all night fishing and a little dull? There's a lot of reasons why people don't know that "Its Jesus!"
  • A disciple - 8 years ago
Mark (cont.); Some have formed their entire sermons around whether or not Peter and the other disciples should have gone fishing, now that they were evidently called for Ministry, and were still tender from the recent disaster and trauma of the Lord's violent death; and the subsequent unfathomable wonder of His resurrection. Maybe they were just going for some relaxation! Jesus didn't rebuke them!
  • A disciple on John 21 - 8 years ago
Mark; "just what is going on here? About knowing and not knowing???" That's a keen observation; and something hardly anyone seems to consider! But the matter of how and to whom the Lord reveals Himself; (even while He's standing right in front of them!); speaks to 'how' and 'to whom' He finds us when He comes. Ordinary circumstances should not be despised; and we should KNOW that "It is the Lord."

"For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?" (cont.) Keeping in the context of the Lord's teaching here; what is profitable for us is to save our souls through God's mercy and grace, and not have false beliefs concerning this life's worth. This world IS NOT God's final and very good plan for us for eternity; and its real condition is seen by the cross.
  • A disciple on Isaiah 1 - 8 years ago
Melody; Very good question! Its like how Jesus said in Matthew 5:25, to be in a good mind and agreeable toward your adversary that you not be brought before the Judge. The definition for "reason" is: to think through logically, as a problem; to think or argue in a logical manner; to form conclusions, judgments, or inferences from facts or premises. This is about our acknowledging the truth.
  • A disciple on Colossians 2 - 8 years ago
Emanuel; But if you transgress the commandments YOU ARE UNDER THE LAW! The grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ wrought in our hearts by faith, is evidenced by repentance and conversion and the resulting NEWNESS OF LIFE AFTER THE IMAGE OF GOD OUR FATHER, by obedience! Grace is not a trick of the mind or a manipulating of words; but the reflection of the character that ESTABLISHES THE LAW!
  • Frances Cantu on Proverbs 28 - 8 years ago
