"I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; for kings, and for all that are in authority;" It is a strong desire of a righteous man or woman to see that mercy and truth, righteousness and peace, preside over the land and in the hearts of our Countrymen. Here is our patience and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ proven!

Chuck (cont.); So I want to ask again; because I think its really an important thing for us to understand: What do you think it means, "In the Name of Jesus?" It can be translated, "by the power of attorney," or, "as a Representative authorized by;" and of course, in all that, "By the Authority and Power of Jesus' Name, which is above every name, we are speaking and acting under His Holy Charge."
  • A disciple on Acts 10 - 8 years ago
Hi Chuck; YES! Amen! "For there is no other name given among men whereby we must be saved." And as far as if Peter (being full of the Holy Ghost) was "mistaken;" that's simply nonsense! The part that I was trying to emphasize, is how the Lord Himself commanded to baptize in the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost; and that one DOES NOT negate the other! But BOTH ARE TRUE!

HI GREG; I'M GLAD WE HAVE THINGS LIKE LG. CAPS AND READING GLASSES FOR OUR AGING EYES:) I AM THANKFUL WITH YOU; JESUS LOVED US AND GAVE HIMSELF FOR US, AND DIED ON THE CROSS FOR OUR SINS, AND HAS PAID THE DEBT BY HIS OWN BLOOD. AMEN! I JUST WANT TO ADD; DON'T LET ANYONE (MAN OR SPIRIT) TELL YOU THAT YOU SIN EVERY DAY, IF YOU REALLY DON'T! JESUS HAS CLEANSED US AND BROKEN THE POWER OF SIN OVER US!
  • A disciple on Matthew 1 - 8 years ago
Hello Jeffrey; I would like to speak to something you said. We all know that God made man in His image and likeness; and all the evil effects of centuries and generations from ancient times till now have not changed that fact. God gave us His only begotten Son, and His Spirit, and the Bible, FOR US TO KNOW HIM! So also God gave us a brain to use it! NOT to deny its capacities to think and discern!

  • Chuck on Acts 10 - 8 years ago
To disciple: another way to answer you is this: when I pray for a sick person, I pray in the name of Jesus as does everyone. When I give thanks over a meal, I say in the name of Jesus, as does everyone. And since Col3:17 says everything we do in word or deed , do all in the name of Jesus. That's what I mean when I say someone must be baptized in the name of Jesus. I hope this clarifies the issue.
  • Son of David on 1 John 3 - 8 years ago
To Dis. I would be comforted to know Salvation was such a small matter that it was there for the taking. Would that I could supplant the Father and his righteous judgement to cease my labor on earth. But the vineyard requires laborers who do not cease from their labor day by day. Have you not understood this. Do you not understand that Jesus, the Christ said That Father works and I work.
  • Brother Daniel FC on Colossians 2 - 8 years ago
Emanuel: The Schoolmaster mentioned in Gal. 3:24 refers to the Ceremonial Law; not the Ten Commandments. Why would Ap. Paul list 17 moral sins in Gal. 5:19-21, which would bar the entrance into God's Kingdom? After all, which of the Ten Commandments is OK to break? I know; you just like better the Day of the Sun instituted by man, than the Saturday Sabbath, instituted by God. See also Rom. 7:7
  • Anne on Job 23 - 8 years ago
Although Job may not fully understand what he is going through, he still has his trust in God. when God is silent let us continue to have faith and trust in him for He is omnipotent, omnipresent, omniscient, creator.
  • Linda on Philippians 4 - 8 years ago
Phil 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" Father this so speaks to me. Thank you for being there for me Lord even in the hardest times of my life, especially when I feel that I am weak. Father, right now I just ask that you give me the strength to be strong in your word and to take away the desires of my Heart and replace them with your desires. In Jesus name I pray Amen!
  • Eric on Luke 15 - 8 years ago
Jesus has already forgiven us, even in the middle of our transgression. All we need to do is accept His forgiveness.

  • Jeffrey on Matthew 1 - 8 years ago
Tracy Clem..I have come to learn, through what I believe to be divine inspiration from God, that we can't subject God or his works to the limited reasoning capabilities of our minds. I mean, we can't even remotely comprehend the fact that God has always just "been". Meaning that even our perception of time itself could all be a massive illusion. How can we even begin to trust our own logic ?
  • Lilian on Proverbs 14 - 8 years ago
Our sins are already forgiven and was cleansed by the blood of Jesus we are pardoned as Jesus paid the price on the cross by his blood. Lets praise and worship Jesus for he is worthy. To conquer and depart from evil is to do good and accept Jesus as the Son of the living God aken

  • Greg ormsbee on 1 Timothy 2 - 8 years ago
SORRY FOR CAPS I SEE BETTER WITH THEMY, I AM NOT A BELIEVER OF ONCE SAVED ALWAYS SAVED. I DO BELIEVE JESUS DIED FOR US, BUT SOUNDS DOES SATAN. WE ARE TO LIVE LIKE JESUS TAUGHT ON THE SERMON ON THE MOUNT. WE ALL SIN, JESUS IS THE EXAMPLE AN OUR SAVIOR, THE HOLY SPIRIT IS OUR GUIDE, AND WEARE TO TRY AN DONATIONS GOOD, ALL GLORY GOING TO HIM. REPENTANCE IS STILL THERE, BETWEEN YOU AN CHRIST. GODBLESS

  • Faith alone is what saves !! - 8 years ago
The Devils greatest trick is work based salvation ! If the devil can convince anyone to ADD to the finished work of the cross he is aready deceiving you !
  • Chuck on Acts 10 - 8 years ago
To disciple; because Peter had been with Jesus, he knew the singular name to use in baptism. Peter wasn't mistaken when he commanded the Jews and Gentiles to be baptized in the name of Jesus. He did exactly what Jesus commanded him to do. He found the singular name that is above all names. The name Jesus instead of titles.

  • Austin on Romans 1 - 8 years ago
In Romans Chapter 1: 20-25 refers to people depicting God as something he's not. Like in verse 23 it says "they changed the glory of an uncorruptible God into an image made like corruptible to man ..." what that is saying along with the other verses you asked about, is that (man) meaning people of the world took god and made him something he is not. I can explain better if you contact me via email
  • A disciple on 1 Timothy 2 - 8 years ago
"For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus " In the exhortation is the answer for all of us who profess faith in God and love for our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ: namely, that God wills for all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth: and while there are so many voices in the world all screaming for attention yet to us there is but One Voice Who would that all men be saved, and Who has commanded us to pray and to give thanks for them all. We must not let ourselves be deceived and drawn away by the voices of politics, or celebrity, or any of the things that the people of the world look to for their guidance, identity, purpose and righteousness, instead of Christ. There is no wisdom outside the Word of God and there is no other Saviour but Jesus. We must therefore see people like our Father sees them, and be not entangled in the affairs and the fears and politics of a world that is about to be destroyed and taken away for ever. For His ways and His thoughts are far above what any of them know. One is our Master and Leader, and we ALL are brethren!
  • A disciple on Psalms 77 - 8 years ago
This is a very powerful Psalm! I think Asaph must have had a great heart to be able by the Spirit to lead the Congregation in the Service of Song and Prophesying on instruments of music! This is what the LORD through David had appointed him to do! Asaph was prophesying about Jesus! Our Service also; by our life and by preaching; to glorify Jesus and declare His doings and purpose and salvation.
  • A disciple on 1 Chronicles 11 - 8 years ago
Ken; AMEN! Like our men and women in the Military? or Law Enforcement? or First Responders? As Jesus' Ambassadors of reconciliation WE are supposed to be on the top of this list! "Greater love has no man than this, that he lay down his life for his friends." All these people who have signed up for Public Service are counting us as friends; but many [unfortunately] can't even think on this level.
  • A disciple - 8 years ago
Randy (cont.); "without natural affection" BECAUSE they are full of self and lovers of self and utterly incapable of understanding true love! The world says that "you can't love someone else until you love yourself." That is absolutely the opposite of the truth we are taught by Jesus in the scriptures! Love is unselfish and denies itself for the other! Abortion is selfishness without a conscience!
  • A disciple on Romans 1 - 8 years ago
Randy; 20-25 tells how God is the Lord and Master over ALL the world. He creates and makes it after His own counsel and will, and judges men by it. Do you remember what Nebuchadnezzar said about God after he was converted? that He rules over the kingdoms of men, and sets up over them the basest of men? Men think that they make the world and their own destiny; but we can do NOTHING without Him!
