Nehemiah did a complete history of the Israelites in this chapter. He was quite balanced in his narration to the congregation of the Jews after the wall was completed and now time for rejoicing. He underlined the kindness of God. "for thy great mercies' sake thou didst not utterly consume them, nor forsake them; for thou art a gracious and merciful God." Our God is gracious and mighty.

1st Corinthians 5 is talking about a life style not a sin. You said if a man sin he cannot be a preacher. What about the verse that says for ALL have sinned and come short of the glory of God. By the standard you stated no one can be a preacher. I see 1st Corithians as setting the Church in order and Second Corithians as teaching is to forgive.

I treasure it because God gave it to us us and my mother held on to it, trusting and believing and knowing it's true

John 6:38 is proof positive that God Almighty and Jesus Christ are two separate entities - the Father and the Son. God did not come to earth and become Jesus. God put his spirit into Jesus. Additional scripture tells us Jesus was the "express image" of God.

Our God is long-suffering and forgiving, praise His holy name.

"God is the same, yesterday, today and forever."

It is a great thing to praise the Lord in song and in our lives! V.13 When we're planted in the house of the Lord we shall flourish! We will be fruitful in old age! What encouragement!

Steve, In 1Cor. 11 Ap. Paul is talking about the Lord's Supper. It has deep deep spiritual meaning: when we are partaking of sacred symbols, representing the body and the blood of Jesus. Please, do not confuse it with your lunch or dinner.

Hi Steve, Are you suggesting that who keeps the Ten Commandments but not the Ceremonial Laws is under CURSE? You need to know the difference between the two. 1Jn 3:4 says Sin is the transgression of the Law. If there is no Law there's no SIN, if there's no sin there's no need for GRACE; and consequently, no need of CHRIST and His forgiveness. IF YE LOVE ME, KEEP MY COMMANDMENTS: Jesus ( Jn. 14:15)

"keep himself unspotted from the world". Does this not mean that we should not participate in or condone things of the world that we know is sin? People too often say it is just changing times.
"Be not conformed to this world but rather by the renewing of your mind...". I agree that it is very clear James should be applied to every day living.

Its a Lot to digest, then I thought after I thought that, that it makes sense because we are being fed the Word of God when we read the Word. What do you think? Anyone? This Chapter says so much. Paul had a conversion to Jesus like many have not experienced as far as we know. I love that we shall be changed in a moment, in the twinkling of and eye. I am so thankful for Jesus. Thank the Lord!

This was to give His life for a ransom to save us from our sins. The whole reason for man being let go with his life, and therefore all our species being allowed to multiply and fill up the earth is because Jesus was to come and save us from our sins. This tells us that the present world we live in is only an evil necessity until all of God's children have been born into the world, and the entire Congregation of the saved is completely filled up. We are not given life to please ourselves, but God our Maker and our Saviour. All this that we now see is about to be taken away and only those who trust in the Lord will be left, and all whose names are in the Lamb's book of life.

The Law for the women to keep silence and be obedient was commanded by the LORD God in Eden because of the woman's being beguiled by the devil. All things decently and in order, is the right way for Christians to conduct themselves; both at home and their usual surroundings, and in Assembly. Most all of the Western Churches however have abandoned modesty and orderly conduct for worldly influences.

Sister, The Christians were converts from pure paganism. They did not have all the knowledge that is available now. Babes in Christ. The women, apparently, had a lot of questions concerning the teachings of Christianity. Trying to understand. It is understood they were interrupting the preaching by asking those questions out loud. Hence ask your husband's at home. Don't interrupt the service.

Romans 8:23, Christians are not to walk after the flesh but are to mortify the deeds of the body by the Spirit. Christ came to give us power over the flesh and all sin. If one is a Christian, one must take all sinful things to Jesus to b eradicated. Christ can remove all sin, 1 John 1st chapter. "And cleanse us from all unrighteousness". "Cleanses us from ALL sin". 2nd chap Walk as He walked.

God loved David because David was a child of God. He was one of the elect of God. God love all of His elect enough that He did send His only begotten son to die for them. No power of man or of hell can pluck any from his hand. He will not loose one of us. He is the good Shepard who has laid down His life for the sheep.

"Ye are god". Read John 10:34 -35 for a better understanding coming from the mouth of Jesus. 35 especially explains it " if He called them gods unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken. We understand in John 1:1 that God is "the Word" which implies those professing the inspired Word of God are taking upon them His characteristics and nature but not His position as God.
