I don't mean to 'nit pick' (and I wasn't 'finding fault' with what you wrote at all!); but I wanted to emphasize that the idea of one having to belong to a Church and subject himself without thinking, Is this right? is misleading, and a potentially terrible dangerous snare. Birds of a feather flock together. People flock to those they like!

Joseph; Your post got me thinking about, "How do I 'Make' the LORD my dwelling? I always find so much when I learn what words mean, even most common ones. For example, in Collins English Dictionary, one definition (transitive verb) of "MAKE;" "If you MAKE someone something, you appoint them to a particular job, role, or position." So we by our faith and love Appoint God to the Role and Position!

Hi Kurt; I like what you said regarding "our own whims, emotions, and personalities," and that "we must keep the discipline of God's intentions within us." The Word, "LET this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus;" like in the Proverbs, "LET thine heart retain MY WORDS;" our discipleship is toward moral excellence out of a good and honest heart, PROVING what is acceptable TO GOD in TRUTH.

The Lord God Almighty is able to do All that we ask of him.What a wonderful and loving powerful God we serve.If we trust God it should not be just for some things,but for everything we need and desire according to his will.Faith in God is what we need to be able to trust him.We are sinful folk by Nature but God can deliver us and raise us above all that is not like him.We have to serve God daily.

We should share our gifts and talents with others 1 Peter 4:10 tells us "As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another; as good stewards of the manifold grace of God".

Psalm 91 has a lot of promises: provide I love the Lord my God and make him a place of my habitation and duellng , no harm will befall me , for he will command His angles to take Charge of me and protect me from ALL HARM, when I call on him he will answer me, He will sheld me with his favour( feathers) with his wings he fly with me to safety. Glory be to My Lord and Savior!! Amen

Dean; The Son of God came into this world already having the Anointing and the Authority and Commission from the Father; He didn't have to first do anything! All that He did was for our benefit, and our example. The Lord was expounding the same Glad Tidings He was preaching throughout the Country, and describing the divine nature in us by His grace, that will be the result of those Glad Tidings.

He said of Himself that He came eating and drinking, and was a friend of Publicans and sinners. If you make a promise to God about not drinking, we respect your will and try to support you. The Lord sitting down to teach His disciples was to expound what He was preaching everywhere the Announced Glad tidings of the kingdom of heaven at hand beginning with telling us plainly who are the "Blessed." To the ones who have not the kind of spirit in them to withstand the hateful and hostile, and are naturally run over and dominated by the proud those who are the least and the weakest in the eyes of the world these FIRST shall be rewarded their good things, for all the evil things they had to endure. Those with no power to make a stand, or speak up for themselves like the poor beggar laid at the rich man's gate, starving and sick and having NO ONE WHO LOVED HIM these FIRST shall be received with tenderest love and comfort into Abraham's bosom. I believe people need to read the KJV and not these other translations. The Bible states numerous times that alcohol is bad. Jesus DID NOT DRINK WINE PERIOD!! HE WAS FREE FROM ALL SINS!! Some people need to read the truth and stop sugar coating!! The Bible states to NEITHER ADD TO OR TAKE AWAY FROM THE WORD OF GOD!! So stop making EXCUSES to get drunk.

We tend to attach a moral or emotional understanding to this verse based on the popular conception that 'heaven' is a blissful place we go after death. In the previous two chapters Jesus had just had the "heavens opened to him" after which he endured temptations and trials. From this point forward he heals the sick and raises the dead. Because he had just had authority given to him by the Father....the kingdom of heaven. Entering the Kingdom of heaven is to have authority. "Heaven is my throne..." From the throne, opened to Jesus when he "fulfilled all righteousness" Jesus was given the authority of a king with a throne. What he says must therefore be done. God does not give this authority to the rich in spirit who are self motivated and have their own agenda, but the poor in spirit who receive the promise, endure the trials and temptations and submit to the Father. Our inheritance is to have this same authority. Which type of heaven do you desire? A blissful place for you to live eternally, or an inheritance of authority to command sickness and death and bring righteousness and wholeness and the kingdom of God in the earth?

Hello Dan; the part you referenced in Jeremiah has indeed already happened, and continues because of the Law of the broken Covenant ( Deut. 28; Lev. 26; etc.); and is appointed by God to come to the full in "the time of Jacob's Trouble" when the "transgressors are come to the full." When Jesus returns, He is coming back to Jerusalem: then will all the Nations bring back the Jews on their shoulders!

Hi Wayne; Baptism is indeed a sign, as you say; and shows the washing of water by the Word. A person has to repent and confess to God, for the remission of sins, through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. "At what instant" that person turns with a true heart unto God for seeking His mercy and forgiveness; at that instant does God also turn to count him clean and at peace and all things a new start.

This Law of the LORD that the seventh year should be the year of release to let every man return to his inheritance and his own people; was for an instruction to declare that God's anger does not endure forever against His people; but that the days come when "All sins shall be forgiven to the sons of men," and the year of release for the whole earth is at hand: and God shall restore what was lost!

How can we bring the Gospel to sinners without sinning? Take another Christian and have an entry and exit plan. Arm yourself with the Truth (Jesus), and the Spirit. Allow God to work his love towards sinners thru us, yet remain safely separate in the Armour, lest we may fall. We are subject to our own whims, emotions, and personalities, yet we must keep the discipline of God's intentions within us
