  • A disciple on Matthew 5 - 9 years ago
Matthew 5:11 (cont.); Alongside knowing and feeling how much we fall short, and how utterly needy we are continually of the Lord's mercy and guidance in the way we walk through our days; the contemplation that we are suffering for Jesus' sake is most convicting and shines His Light into our innermost self. We are weak and faulty, and so its hard to always say that we suffer for being a Christian.
  • A disciple on 1 Corinthians 2 - 9 years ago
BSP; What you say is most certainly the truth, but we shouldn't think that God winks at the ungodly because they are not Christians nor spiritually minded. God knows how much we all know or don't, and how much we do or not do with the knowledge and conviction He gives. Remember how Jesus rebuked the hypocrites and pronounced, Woe unto you! Having a spiritual mind has to do with being of the truth!
  • A disciple on Matthew 18 - 9 years ago
" Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven." Child-like does not mean being infantile in your behavior: it's not thinking and acting like a child, when we are grown up men! But it is love out of the innocence and purity of a good conscience, faith without hypocrisy, and the hope! "Acting like a child" is different.
  • Boniface on Psalms 91 - 9 years ago
Vs 16: With long life will I satisfy thee, and show thee my salvation. This verse makes know that God cares to give me longevity of life, so long as I make Him my refuge.
  • Cephas on Matthew 5 - 9 years ago
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him. In God will I praise his word: in the LORD will I praise his word. The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.
  • Cross N. on Matthew 18 - 9 years ago
Dear Boba Fett - I like that you appreciate the teachings of Jesus even if you claim that you are not a Christian. May I just add that aside from your entering a spiritual state every time you play with your lego, Jesus is telling us that "being a child" means possessing a humble and teachable spirit like children :)

  • A disciple on Psalms 11 - 9 years ago
"If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?" Where does it say that Jesus commands us to pick up our weapons and fight? He never does! His commandment is to "Turn the other cheek!" Most everyone knows this and can cynically quote it, while they are actually murmuring and speaking evil of that person who injures or insults them. But for us it is our Constitution, and our Duty.
  • Weser on Genesis 22 - 9 years ago
Jesus is the Passover Lamb to atone our sins of the whole world!
  • A disciple on Jeremiah 38 - 9 years ago
"We beseech thee, let this man be put to death: for thus he weakens the hands of the men of war that remain in this city, and the hands of all the people, in speaking such words unto them: for this man seeks not the welfare of this people, but the hurt." Many, many Patriots will have a problem with accepting and submitting to God's punishment upon the Nation, and will likewise seek to kill us.
  • A disciple on Luke 7 - 9 years ago
MARQ: I agree with you about wine; but comparing poisons to wine isn't right. God made everything very good in the beginning; but men because of their hatred and hostility, wicked minds and proud hearts, love of evil and sin; have caused the whole creation to be out of course. Wine always was for a good thing, but men make it evil by drunkenness. That poison you mentioned is not to be touched!
  • BSP on Proverbs 15 - 9 years ago
Verse 30: Hearing a good report can make us feel good not only mentally, but also physically. We should try to fill our mind with positive and upbuilding things.
  • A disciple on Judges 4 - 9 years ago
Dee; You are right! But God does love because He is love; and His goodness and mercy and long-suffering is the expression of that love; a goodness and love that is not dependent on the worth of the thing loved, but because God is good He is that way. But, He absolutely HATES the wicked and CAN NEVER ALLOW those who are IN THE IMAGE OF the devil, and any unclean and perverted into His presence.
  • BSP on John 15 - 9 years ago
Verse 20: Jesus warned his disciples that if he had to face persecution then they could also expect to face persecution.
  • BSP on Matthew 5 - 9 years ago
There is no joy in ridicule or persecution itself, but when we endure those things because of our love for Jehovah God and Jesus Christ then we can be happy knowing that we made them rejoice.
  • STEPHEN on Genesis 1 - 9 years ago
Genesis is very interesting. Between Genesis 1 and 2 there are millions of years.
  • Dee on Judges 4 - 9 years ago
If God love all why did he say he hate Essau, but he love Jacob. I don't believe based on this scripture that God loves all.
He also said that he is angry with the wicked every day - it is his words not mine. I am simply quoting scripture. We cannot put words in His mouth. That would not do Him justice.
  • Alex on Isaiah 11 - 9 years ago

  • Peter A. Okebukola on Romans 5 - 9 years ago
The impact on our lives of Adam and Christ is described as "for as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous." We thank Jesus for obeying His Father to come die for our sins. In turn, we should strive to do His will, have faith in Him to be saved by Grace.

  • A disciple on Matthew 1 - 9 years ago
Did anyone else notice, how between Jehoram and Uzziah there are three generations missing (omitted)? It was Jehoshaphat's fault for intermarrying his son with the house of Ahab, that they despised and forsook the LORD, and went after the sin and perversion of the enemies of God. We do not only affect ourselves, but everyone else whose life we touch, with how we live and who we choose for friends.
