If we didn't read the whole thing in context, we wouldn't quite know the power in the LORD's words, that He is the God of all flesh, and that nothing is too hard for Him. It's not just for asking things from God, as some might assume but it is about making solid and sure preparations, and taking witnesses to confirm, for things not seen as yet but are spoken and affirmed by the Scriptures. We are building an ark, based entirely on the word of God, about things not seen as yet, to save us from the deluge of destruction coming. And we are going out from a world of heathen culture, unto a place that God has prepared for us, which just now is not seen. The terrible and dreadful time of the end is most definitely upon us, as the Lord has said it would be and He tells us to make preparations for the day following. There is a reason for the world going into cataclysm and catastrophe, and the transgressors loosed from all restraint just as there is reason for us to be tried as gold is tried in the furnace of temptations and tribulations. We take to us witnesses to record, by the course in life we take, before the eyes of all among whom we live and work. We take witnesses to record, as the Angels in charge of writing down in books for the last day and the judgment. We purchase "a field" in the heights, of a country of our own kind to come.
  • Daniel on Revelation 12 - 9 years ago
Verse 17, Jesus indicates a remnant (remainder) woman (church) that is under attack by the dragon (satan) because the church remains faithful in keeping the ten commandments, including Sabbath commandment. And the church is concerned with prophecy (testimony of Jesus as told in Rev 19:10).

I wonder where all this projected importance about blood-lines began, and to what end? It is clear, that God has made of one blood all nations of men, and that the life of the flesh is in the blood; but next to that, what is really the issue? The LORD said through the Prophet, "I will cleanse their blood that I have not cleansed:" and also that He will turn to all people a pure language.

Dr. Gordon; I don't understand; what are you talking about? How do you think, 1) that your opinion doesn't matter? and, 2) that the holy Narrative of the account of Creation, is somehow only to be interpreted as from "ancient near east" thinking? Please explain.

Jesus can never come as a thief, taking what is not his. Matt.15 theft proceeds from a evil heart. Jesus will never come like one with an evil heart. It is the false Christ, the Antichrist that comes like a thief. Matt.24:24 Jesus tells you truth there are false christs.

  • A disciple on 1 Kings 12 - 9 years ago
Peter; We are certainly in a time for searching of heart, and making account to God. The divisions are caused by many turning away from the holy commandments. "The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts...and they do not return to the LORD their God, nor seek him for all this."Where has NOT the Word of Jesus gone out in all the world?
  • A disciple on John 9 - 9 years ago
Hello Peter; It is interesting, and something to wonder about, that men are able to be indifferent to and deflect the spiritual and the truth working right in their midst! "...for flesh and blood has not not revealed it to you, but my Father in heaven." So the LORD is righteous who takes vengeance on the wickedness of men, because He KNOWS what we really are inwardly, and all have a conscience!
  • Insight777 on 3 John 1 - 9 years ago
V10 is important. What church has the right to cast out anyone! If a follower of Jesus, no one is denied the right to speak the gospel or listen to others that have a different interpretation of Bible parables. Jesus died because of blasphemy. He was cast out being denied the freedom of speech. Listen to each other respectfully to discern what the correct Bible symbolism is and find truth. Love is

From verses 17-24 Jeremiah finished his prayer of exaltation and immediately after that prayer the God of all creation confirmed to Jeremiah that indeed He is the great I AM verse 27 "Behold I am the Lord, the God of all flesh: is there anything too hard for me? Omnipotence and righteousness revealed. Praise God!

Oh God, please bring peace to my family. At the moment family members are not speaking to each other, there is so much tension, and I am expected to fix everything. They are all old enough to do so, but I am looked to for a remedy. I have been through enough. I have faith Lord, and believe that you will bring peace. Thank you God, in Jesus' mighty name, Amen.
  • A disciple on Philemon 1 - 9 years ago
Hi Denise; the words Paul uses are spiritual; like when he told the Corinthians, "I have begotten you..." He was NOT speaking carnally, but spiritually; just as the Apostles and Saints from earlier times are called The Church Fathers. The human is but the vessel through which the Spirit does the thing in spirit. Look at 1 Peter 1:3. The term "Born Again" is more accurately - "Born From Above."
  • A disciple on Genesis 3 - 9 years ago
Insight; Yes, and may I add, that the blood does not pass through the woman, but through the seed of the man. Jesus came in the flesh through His mother, as we all do; but He was separate from sinners in that He was incarnate through the Spirit of God. Very thoughtful, but not too bright men, might well ask, How can these things be? But we then have to ask, How can God create by simply speaking?

  • A disciple on Revelation 20 - 9 years ago
Verse 4 - "..and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshiped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands.." We tend to think of the 'end times' as something obscure in the future; but this 'war' has been in the world since Cain, and Nimrod. The "Mark" is spiritual!
  • Redeemed on 1 John 5 - 9 years ago
1 John 5:7 God is a Spirit, the Word is Spirit and the Holy Spirit is Spirit. The Word which is Spirit came forth from Spirit to be made flesh and dwell among us though he were rich he became poor for our sake to take our sins upon him and give his life for us to redeem and reconcile us back to Spirit. Now the Lord is that Spirit, now what is the Lords name, who art thou Lord I am "Jesus" one Lord

Really needed this verse today. I've been waiting for a long time for an answer to prayer and I have often wondered if it's the Lord's will or not. But this has helped alleviate my discouragement. PTL

1 John 1:5 "...GOD is light, and in him is no darkness at all."
    1 John 4:8
  • LeeAnne on 1 Kings 22 - 9 years ago
The Old Testament can be confusing since those writing it didn't fully understand the adversary and his ways the way we can understand today. All references to GOD bringing evil is a figure of speech since GOD is love and GOD is light and in HIM is no darkness at all. The figure of speech is a Hebrew idiom of GOD giving permission for evil to do as it pleases because of mans freewill to do evil.

  • Peter A. Okebukola on John 9 - 9 years ago
Very interesting encounter with the blind man and the members of his community. In spite of all the miracles, many could not still see that Jesus is incarnate God. This is another prophecy fulfilled that His people will know Him not ( Jeremiah 3: 20). Also see John 1: 11: He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
  • Peter A. Okebukola on 1 Kings 12 - 9 years ago
Happening before our very eyes is what God said will happen to Solomon for his transgressions- his house and kingdom divided. This is a lesson for us all that we must stay at the centre of God's will all the time. He is a loving Father who is willing to forgive and wash us in His precious Blood but not one that tolerates daily wallowing in sin.
  • Word on Revelation 22 - 9 years ago
Be prepared for what will unfold at the end because when antichrist comes you might be deceived but when the elect are delivered up God speaks through them I believe those that love the Lord will believe its God and the Holy Spirit will let you know the truth. Pay bills up 3 months buy food when death performs his acting role as antichrist So don't believe what I say but listen to the elect of God
  • Insight777 on Genesis 3 - 9 years ago
It is important to understand it is Josephs linage that is traced and not Jesus. Joseph is not the biological father of Jesus. Before Abraham, Jesus existed. How is David his father? Jesus denies
bloodline connection with those men. Salvation does not come from Adam or any of his sinning sons.

Yes thank You Lord, every time we fall, all we need to do is call You and You will pick us, restore and give us strength to lean to You. Your love, grace and mercy will pour on us with our Faith in you. Because You love us first.
  • Dr Dennis Gordon on Genesis 1 - 9 years ago
What do I think of Genesis 1? Frankly, my personal opinion is not what is important. What is important is what GOD wants us to understand from it, which, in turn, is based on what the Israelities were supposed to understand from it because it was written in the context of the ancient Near East.
  • A disciple on Acts 9 - 9 years ago
Lu2677; in Galatians Paul gives a lengthy account of his growth in the Lord, which went over many years. Adding to that the narrative in Acts, how that he was with the Brethren in Antioch-Syria, and that it wasn't until the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them; that his name was changed, (at least in the narrative).
