Insight; I like what you wrote about the "carrying of pots being a man's job;" I never really heard it like that before. When I read it, I think it was the Lord telling Mary, His mother, that now the time had come for Him to officially be about the business He was sent to do from the Father; and that He was no longer to be treated like "her son" to tell Him what to do. I hope we can discuss more.
  • A disciple on Galatians 3 - 9 years ago
Lu2677; why do you keep sneaking around and taking cuts at me? I have done you no wrong! Why do you have to turn everything I say into a chance to say something else? Tongues have not ceased yet! And if you don't speak in tongues, how would you know anything about it? Paul said, "Do all speak with tongues? Do all prophesy? etc..." Many members, one body; we all need each other's gifts from God!
  • Love for Truth on Acts 2 - 9 years ago
I thank my God for everyone on here who has obeyed Acts 2:38 and those that are on there way to obeying it .Do npt resist or reject this verse holds the keys to the kingdom of heaven which Jesus told Nicodemus he could not enter into heaven without John 3:3-5. • A disciple on Genesis 6 - 9 years ago
Word; you try to teach things that you don't understand, and consequently err. No one from the world of the beginning was in the ark with Noah and his family and the animals! All of Cain's descendants perished in the cataclysm; as did all the rest of mankind! You are confusing two different names, and not using Strong's correctly. There are very good old books which can help you learn more. Peace!
  • A disciple on Lamentations 3 - 9 years ago
I am always shocked when I read or hear someone (especially [so-called] Christians) speaking against the servants of the LORD. God was not displeased with Jeremiah; but Jeremiah was in great pain in his heart because he loved so greatly; but his love and all that he tried to reach those people, was rejected and mocked. We should have that kind of love that weeps over the destruction of the sinner!
  • A disciple on Acts 1 - 9 years ago
Hi Keith; this will surely be a tremendous eye-opener to everyone who dares do just that! BELIEVE! And to help us grasp the importance of believing the Acts of the Apostles; think of it in the terms of why Luke wrote it. As in the Gospel bearing his name as well, Acts was written for the express purpose of providing a written testimony to the High Priest Theophilus, in accordance with the Law.
  • A disciple on Matthew 20 - 9 years ago
Lu2677; No! The Jews do not follow the Torah! They follow their own teachers and books, ever since they rejected Jesus. They SAY they study Torah; but as you and I understand it, NO! And they have a completely perverted view of nearly everything that WE understand in the Old Testament. I come from a Jewish background, and I have had discussions with many Orthodox Jews; they DO NOT follow the Word!

  • Charles Bonsu on Acts 2 - 9 years ago
    Amen.
  • Lu2677 on Luke 5 - 9 years ago
Bud, Tresspass=sin, offense, immorality, wickedness, abuse, err, unlawful act, slander, etc; whatever the case may be if we do not forgive them for the transgression, iniquity, the Lord will not forgive us. God will have the final say at the judgment seat, so we had better take care of it, before we get there. . Matthew 6:15, Matt. 18:21 "brother sin against me."
  • Lu2677 on Galatians 5 - 9 years ago
Steve M. Also; Galatians 5:13-14, V.13 "For, brethren, Ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but, by love serve one another."
  • Lilian on Acts 2 - 9 years ago

  • Bert Clayton on Proverbs 12 - 9 years ago
Too many get pleasure at anothers'misery and suffering. Doesn't matter if human or other species of animal. Or even turning a blind eye with neglect.
  • Brian on 1 Timothy 4 - 9 years ago
As it plainly states in verse 1 that is a "doctrine of devils".
  • Insight777 on Zechariah 3 - 9 years ago
V10- Jesus = vine. John 15:1 I am the true vine, John 15:4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. The fig tree= Israel, James 3:12 Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh. The 2 religions are separate.
  • Lu2677 on Matthew 20 - 9 years ago
a disciple "Judaism follows the doctrine of men that rejected Jesus Christ" No, Judaism to the Jew who believes in the Torah, Old Testament, which are scipture from God.The Torah was written before Christ was born. When Jesus said "do you not know the scriptures?"These scriptures were what God had given them. Their rejection of Christ leaves them without (excluding the saints of old) a savior.
  • Stargazer on Matthew 19 - 9 years ago
Jesus' ministry was short upon the earth but leaves for us an eternal legacy, adapting the old and including the new. Keep the commandments which Moses hath chiseled upon the rock and which are to be found in the Ark of the covenant. But also sell what thou has that interferes with loving God more than yourself. The cares of this world are mere
moments, while God's love is eternal. We choose.
  • Keith Babcock on Acts 1 - 9 years ago
Acts, like the rest of the inspired scriptures, need not go through all of the mental gymnastics so popular in this age, but needs only to be believed as it is written and delivered by inspiration from the Spirit of the Creator.
  • Bud on Luke 5 - 9 years ago
LU2677; Thanks for the reply but to me there is a difference. Sin; transgression of divine law.
Trespass; in unlawful act causing injury to person, property or rights of another. In Math: he stated forgiveness against a person not GOD.
  • A disciple on Revelation 19 - 9 years ago
"I am thy fellow-servant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the spirit of prophecy is the testimony of Jesus." Isaiah 8:20 says, "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them." If a man speaks against the Truth, and if he deny that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh, he is of antichrist.
  • Lilly on Lamentations 3 - 9 years ago
Jeremiah showed a waiting attitude and relied on Jehovah in his life, we want to show the same patience in our lives.
  • Cristina Scheeler on Acts 2 - 9 years ago
When Peter said, Repent, be baptized, then the gift of the Holy Spirit will come. What he is saying is, Repent, stop turn around from your sin, turn to Jesus. At that point, you are saved. Then be baptized, as an act of confession to the Church, on what you did. Baptizing has nothing to do with salvation. And at the point of repenting, is when the Holy Spirit comes into your heart.
  • Word on Genesis 6 - 9 years ago
Cheryl and two of Cains got on the boat. 2 of all flesh and we know that because we read of kenites in 1 Chron 2 about vs 54 or 55 and kenites in the Exhaustive Strong's is sons of Cain. Then when we read Matt. 13:36-44 where Jesus explains the parable He tells us that the wicked one sends his tares which are children just as God sends His children.
  • Peter A. Okebukola on 1 Kings 11 - 9 years ago
God is so predictable. Obey and you will reap His goodness. Step out of line even after being warned and His wrath will be visited. Solomon had a taste of this predictability.
  • Patricia D. Butcher on Psalms 91 - 9 years ago
The 91st Psalm reminds me to take nothing for granted especially now in these last evil days. It assures me of God's protection of me from seen and unseen dangers.
  • Lu2677 on Galatians 3 - 9 years ago
Lance 77, Tongues will cease; scripture doesn't say when. The Holy Ghost coming to the disciples (they spoke in tongues to the people there, Day of Pentecost) in Acts, was for signs and wonders, speaking in the languages of the people . God's mercy; so people there would believe in Christ. Those that think if someone does not speak in tongues, the Holy Spirit does not dwell in them, are very wrong.
  • Lu2677 on John 8 - 9 years ago
John 8:7-9; Jesus was along with this woman, he did not instruct her to "tell no one".
John 4:7-9: Jesus was alone with the woman from Samaria, he did not instruct her "tell no one"
  • Redeemed on Isaiah 9 - 9 years ago
9:6 is the best verse to describe the singular name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost in Matthew 28:19 which leads us to Acts 2:38, Acts 8:12, Acts 10:47-48, Acts 19:1-5. Jesus is the Father of creation the Son of Redemption and the Holy Ghost of regeneration the one Lord of Deut 6:4 that Saul thought he was doing service to but said who art thou Lord, I am Jesus, Saul knew as a Jew there was only1
  • Redeemed on Matthew 28 - 9 years ago
Question? When the Lord commands the disciples to baptize in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Ghost why do the disciples command people to be baptized in the name of Jesus? Could the answer be found in Isaiah 9:6? The subject of the verse the Son his name shall be called everlasting Father
  • A disciple - 9 years ago
Insight... (cont.); There are NO THREE Abrahamic Religions! Abraham had ONE faith in ONE Almighty God; who promised that through Isaac would come the LORD's Anointed the Saviour of the world. Judaism follows the doctrines of the men who rejected Jesus Christ and caused the whole Nation of Israel to reject their own Lord GOD and Saviour, and to make them a curse among all people. Islam is heathen.
