Bruce, please read Luke 13:27-30 and Matthew 20:16 "Many will be called, few will be chosen"
Don't let this be you. Furthermore, in your attempt to sway me from the truth you may just be causing a weaker one to fall. I believe God said "Woe to you" in this case. You have not made an impression on me. I will leave you to your unbelief and hope the Lord will deliver you from your deception.
  • Lu2677 on 1 Samuel 28 - 9 years ago
Irene, you said on this discussion page that Satan held the souls from entering heaven that were born before Christ's ascension. I asked for verse to prove it. Is this what you were searching for when you mentioned in on Psalms 19 page?
  • Bruce on Genesis 1 - 9 years ago
Washicd: Yes, most only see it as daytime, but without His Spirit, they're blinded by Darkness. What is troubling they can only read The Bible with worldly eyes. Then try to tell others what it says. They said a Prayer or point to a verse,or do this and believe their Saved: and many there be that go that way.
  • Lu2677 on Jeremiah 19 - 9 years ago
Irene 123, Read my post again please. I did not say you used Jeremiah 19:9, I am using it and I asked you if you thought he made him eat their children because he hated them? The CONTEXT of this verse is that God's wrath was on them. And I do not see "had no food" in this chapter. So, can you accept correction that He does hate sinners? V.9"I will cause them to eat the flesh of their children.

Steph: That's right. Nobody needs to be a bible scholar to be saved. We can be simple sheep. First we need to hear the two edged sword, word of God, preaching of sins and need for repentance. It must burn our conscience that only hell is before us. Find His own flock for release. We need to have the right self knowledge and put away the daily sins that burden us and make our walk difficult.
  • Bruce on Psalms 76 - 9 years ago
Lu2677: There is no fear in love, but perfect love casteth out fear; because fear has to torment. He that fears is not made perfect in love. 1John 4:18 / Without His Spirit Living within, you will be in fear. Big day, do you have Scripture? / Salvation has giving me,Wonderful Peace, a Provider,a Protector, taking away all fear---. You can have the same: has He Tugged on your Heart? Ask Forgiveness
  • Anna on Luke 10 - 9 years ago
The keys to the kingdom of heaven were given to God's children to loose and bind sins. When someone is on the wayside burdened with a load of sins, the conscience feeling hells burning flames, a child of God stops to heal with the words of the forgiveness of sins. That power has been given to the congregation which Jesus established behind locked doors.
  • Salvation - 9 years ago
He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
  • Binginning - 9 years ago
The same was in the beginning with God.
All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
  • Snoopy on Hebrews 1 - 9 years ago
The letter, probably written by Barnabas, Paul's companion talks of Jesus' stature in the heaven world, his sublime creation by the Father, higher than the angels but not really the same as the Father in that he was created by the Father, and assured of his heights in the heavens by righteousness on earth. The Father has always emphasized righteousness steadfastly as the way to his mercy. Love..
  • A disciple on Numbers 23 - 9 years ago
"How shall I curse, whom God hath not cursed? or how shall I defy, whom the LORD hath not defied? For from the top of the rocks I see him, and from the hills I behold him: lo, the people shall dwell alone, and shall not be reckoned among the nations." Israel wears the garments of her widowhood among the Nations, and her enemies mark her sins against the LORD; but God will save Israel before all!
  • Lu2677 on Genesis 1 - 9 years ago
    Washicd, In Regards to Gen.1:3, "let there be light" You say" it is not the solar system". Gen.1:5 says it is;
"And God called the light Day and the darkness he called Night. (he finishes this verse with;) And the evening and the morning were the first day." The "light" in verse 3, is in the context of daytime and night time, first day. You are adding to His words.

  • Nancy on Psalms 35 - 9 years ago
Psalm 35 is a prayer of protection against the wicked ones. When you talk of ememy - remember that satan uses human beings to work. Witches and wizards are the human agents. Read what the bible said in Exdous 22:18. The enemies you have to forgive are the people you know that wrong you due to flesh.

    Irene123 I AGREE WITH YOU..
  • Wayne - 9 years ago
Irene123, a person is not saved by water baptism. Jesus, "in his very own words", Matt.4:17, states repent, for the kingdom of Heaven is at hand. Matt 28:19 simply states in the name of the Father, in the name of the Son, in the name of the Holy Ghost, in the Lord's "very own words". Easy English. That others didn't do it doesn't mean we shouldn't. Doesn't mean others didn't do it. Hope this helps
  • Wayne on Acts 4 - 9 years ago
Now 50 years of Bible study should have cleared up Father, Son, Holy Ghost. But being as it hasn't, 2 scriptures to help. John 8:28, words of Christ, as my father hath taught me. John 14:28, in Christ's "very own words", for my Father is greater than I. This is my Beloved Son in whom I am well pleased. If Jesus, whom some say, is not the Son of God, but God,they make God out to b a liar.
  • Irene123 on Jeremiah 19 - 9 years ago
LU2677 - I couldn't find the verse you said I used; I even went to Jer. 19 back pgs., but there's nothing there. This chap. tho' is referring to the Babylonian captivity. The siege of Jerusalem caused such a food shortage that the Israelites were eating their children. But, you have to realize - they were FAR from God. They had been worshipping Baal for yrs. and sacrificing their kids to him.
  • Wayne on Matthew 10 - 9 years ago
The eyes of the Lord are over the righteous and His ears are open to their prayers but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil. He that committeth sin is of the devil. For the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested that He might destroy the works of the devil. We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not.

  • Irene123 on Acts 5 - 9 years ago
It was good to hear from you. Yes, our song leader loves the new songs, and very seldom uses the old ones. But, oh my! does he love the Lord! To get us 'going' in the song service, he almost preaches.' C'mon saints; lift Him up, praise him'! And that does it - every time. And as we sing the voices get stronger and stronger! The tears just run from my eyes; I love Him so. 'Amazing Grace' is sung.
  • Linda Locke on Psalms 23 - 9 years ago
23rd Psalms, I have it in my memory. I can repeat Psalms over and over and I can receive comfort the more I recite it the Holy Spirit Is there within me I am doing this for my husband He is in sedated sleep He Loves 23rd Psalms.
  • Lu2677 on Jeremiah 19 - 9 years ago
Irene, In previous post I said,"More verse to prove I'm wrong"That sounds vain, I repent. I will accept God's word for correction. I will surely repent when his word shows that I have erred. I believe all of his word is holy scripture; Truth.
  • Bruce on Acts 5 - 9 years ago
Irene: Amen! The power in The songs of Old. Lifting up Our Savior, there would be Testimony after Testimony. Sometimes that would be for the whole service. Oh what a Savior! The Church I was at,refuses to sing the old hymns. The Pastor said the new songs are just as good---? Just to hear, The Old,Old Story of Jesus and His Love.
  • Esther on Psalms 91 - 9 years ago
I have just experienced something that I didn't not expect to happen. Immediately Psalms 91 came to mind. I give all praise and honour to The Almighty of heaven and earth, and his Son, who is Lord over my life.
  • Washicd on Genesis 1 - 9 years ago
In Gen 1:3, God spoke. The result was Light, Truth, and Salvation the remedy for the situation in the previous verse for those who recognize and accept His Word. "In the beginning was the Word... the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness and the darkness comprehended it not." I think it's a severe misunderstanding to think this chapter is a history of the solar system.

  • Irene123 - 9 years ago
Fonz - and no, there will be no death there; I think it's Isa (Jerimiah?) that says, and there will be nothing to hurt in all y holy mountain ...; that's just my words, not an exact quote. Death hurts so there will be no death.
