When jesus says Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered. He is talking about Meditation, that is how one enters in one self. as he says in Mat 6:33 "Seek first the kingdom of God", and repeats 5 times in this sequence, "Take No Thought". for where is the Kingdom of god? Luke 17:21. Within you.
  • Bruce on Psalms 119 - 9 years ago
i am: Blessed are ye,when men shall revile you and persecute you and say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Matthew 5:11 /--- The servant is not greater than his Lord if they have persecuted me they will also persecute you--- John 15:20 / Enter ye in at the strait gate for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leadeth to destruction--- Matthew 7:13

...wives, be in subjection to your own husbands...husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge... It's not hard to find where in history things really started rushing out of course; and as Christians, we aren't to gauge our values by the world's. It is a real mark of a sincere conversion, that lays aside as worthless and evil, what the world in defiance toward God promotes as morally superior!

Israel was surrounded by enemies for neighbors: both of the first inhabitants, and of there own distant relatives. This is a portion of Isaiah's writings that is mostly obscured to us; because it has to do with Moab particularly; and is not easy to glean a Christian application out of. One thought however; that God has specific words specifically for every place; but not for everyone to meddle in.

Am I the only one that has a severe issue with how many different versions of one small paragraph there are? Who gives anyone the right to manipulate the words of the Bible itself? Why do we accept corporations that are profiting from the sales of Bibles changing the words? Humans are blind to the truth and his ways. Judge not, yet so quick to point fingers. Follow his guidance, or idolize a book?
  • Jeff mauney on James 2 - 9 years ago
A reminder that we can forget to walk by faith instead of sight and to always guard your heart and know that god is love . And as a man thinks so is he. Perfect love cast out all fear. Character is developed when you do for someone that can never pay you back

  • Evangelist Ernest Ndamnsa on Titus 2 - 9 years ago
If we major on the mark and care less about the contex of Titus 2, we will not be of help to the passage but missed out the truth about the Elects of God.
  • Irene123 - 9 years ago
Rev. 1:13 - " ... clothed with a garment down to the foot, ..."; this was Jesus, and - He is our example. His 'garment is undoubtedly a robe thing, totally covering His body with no shoulder exposed as in Hollywood movies and busts of Romans. Yes, they did dress like that, but not MY LORD; maybe others lords did, but not mine.
  • Peter A. Okebukola on 1 Samuel 15 - 9 years ago
A verse worth committing to memory and striving to achieve is "Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams."
  • Charlie on 2 Kings 9 - 9 years ago

To: Jeff Berry on Genesis 1:27, and to Mr. Bruce. If God only created one male and one female 1:27 and Gen. 2:7 is only giving more detail, where did the wife of Cain come from. Gen.4:17. There is only the family of Adam Eve remember!
  • Lu2677 on Hebrews 10 - 9 years ago
Hebrews 10:31"It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God." Amen
Some say He is not a God to be feared. A warning, is from love.
  • Lu2677 on Jeremiah 30 - 9 years ago
Jer. 30:14 for I have wounded you with the wound of an enemy, with a chastisement of a cruel one". jeremiah 30:15 "Why criest thou for thine afflictions; thy sorrow is incurable for the multitude of thine iniquity(sin) because thy sins were increased,I have done these things to you."(God wounds, cruel one,He increased their sins) Some say"He's not cruel, doesn't hate, doesn't change.Does he change?
  • Irene123 - 9 years ago
    v. 19 cont. - Balaam already knew God's mind on the matter: "go NOT with them:, PERIOD. God does change, nor lie. That should have been an end of it with Balaam, but he had his mind on the riches Balak was offering. After God's 1st "no" - Balaam should not have asked again. Paul asked 3 times, but that had nothing to do with - eternity; just his own comfort.
  • Irene123 on Numbers 22 - 9 years ago
    V. 19 - " that I may know what the Lord will say unto me more." This is EXACTLY where Ballam made his mistake; he did NOT obey the Lord; the things Balak was offering 'settled' in his mind, so he 'tempted' God, and God knew his heart so - He told Balaam to go with the servants to show His Glory to Balak and to Balam - by not letting Balaam curse Israel.
  • God is faithful to give us not only the desires of the heart but also supplies o on 2 Kings 4 - 9 years ago
I love this lesson because once had no children and I told the lord I wanted children like all my friends and the prophet told me I would be the mother of many children. They told me I would have a son and it would not be long from now. They said soon will go to the doctor and he might just tell you that you are pregnant right now. I went to the doctor and he confirmed I was indeed pregnant.
  • Irene123 on Jeremiah 19 - 9 years ago
Rosie - To you with Jesus love, please believe that: YOU cannot increase your faith; Jesus has to do it, by our attending services together with others of like mind. Heb. 10:25; Rom. 10:8 THROUGH 14, taking NOTE of vs. 13
  • Irene123 on Jeremiah 19 - 9 years ago
I just looked up 'son of Hinnom' in Easton's Bible dict.; it was a deep 'ravine', right close to Solomon's Temple, used to make their (idolatrus Jews) children to pass through the fire to Molech, Baal, Chemosh, whatever god they were worshipping at the time.
  • LA on Psalms 91 - 9 years ago

  • Lane on Genesis 18 - 9 years ago
    Hello Saints!

In Genesis 18-1, it is truly amazing how our father Abraham, recognize, Yahweh, and the two Cherubs instantly. I wonder how many time have Lord Jesus, approach us in homelessness, or any other basic human need and we did not recognized, or help!
  • Lane on Judges 13 - 9 years ago
Hello Saints! In verse 20-For it came to pass, when the flame went up toward heaven from off the altar, that the angel of the LORD ascended in the flame of the altar. And Manoah and his wife looked on it, and fell on their faces to the ground. I have only one word for the appearance of Yahweh, on planet earth. PRICELESS!
  • Irene123 - 9 years ago
Child, cont. - He doesn't want us to come to partial knowledge; that would be respect of persons. So since (not 'if') he wants us to know everything, why then would He withhold some of it from us ..... ? That's cruel, and God is LOVE, not cruel.
  • Irene123 on Romans 11 - 9 years ago
Child of God - We, the Gentiles, were grafted in. God DOES NOT think like we think. He has provided FULL salvation for us , just as He did for Israel in the O.T. When we are saved we are granted the FULL benefits of that salvation. God is NO respecter of persons, Rom. 2:11; Jas, 2:9; Pro 24:3. No, we are indeed NOT 'step-children'. He wants all to be saved and come to the KNOWLEDGE of the truth.
  • Lu2677 on 1 Timothy 2 - 9 years ago
April,1Timothy2:9 "modest apparel". Modest=not showing too much of the body (skin),decent. V.10 But which becometh women professing godliness with good works" (A woman professing godliness would discern if her clothing would cause a man to look at her and lust, she would not want to cause someone to stumble. A "good conscience" would be careful not to "offend" as in Acts 24:16.
  • Irene123 - 9 years ago
RachelPerez - I can't imagine why satan would attack you for simply believing that Jesus is the son. Everyone, almost, believes that, but that belief alone doesn't save us. It's when we get close to 'seeing' what salvation is all about that satan attacks. He wants no one saved. I believed in Acts 2:38 for 47 yrs., smoked, drank alcohol, but I wasn't saved. Not until I repented, did Acts 2:38.
