A woman's hair is her glory, we DO know why. 1Cor.11:15 "it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering." The hair should cover her head, which is about to the jawline for the head to be covered, bangs would not be involved. No where does it say it is a sin to cut a woman's hair. Scripture does not tell why it affects angels. V.10

No mater what devils do, God remains supreme.
  • Irene123 on 1 Samuel 28 - 9 years ago
Bruce - Read v. 22 again. It says, if any says to his BROTHER (or sister) IN THE LORD. I referred to sinners who dabble, or are serious, in the black arts. C'mon guys; read your Bible.
  • Irene123 on 1 Samuel 28 - 9 years ago
LU2677 - No, they WERE saved. At that time (different dispensation) satan held all souls from entering Heaven - as the time of the age of grace was not yet in effect. God still controlled satan; he could not hurt those saints, at all. After His ascension Jesus freed them. They were fine. Look, this is God's word, not mine. If I can understand it so can anyone - IF they want to.

Mark 16:15-18; Preach the gospel. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved, (Not, he that believes, and is saved should be baptized.)
  • Lu2677 on 1 Corinthians 11 - 9 years ago
Julius, Your answer for "uncovered" is verse 15.(And if a woman does not have hair that is long enough to cover her head she should cover it with something else, when she prays because of angels in verse 10) "Cover" a man should not have hair long enough to cover his head, it dishonors his head, verse 4.

I counsel anyone to call God stupid and say there will be saints left behind at the Rapture ...........
  • Lu2677 on Romans 1 - 9 years ago
Romans 1:28-32 (Even these people will some day do the following) Isaiah 45:23, Romans 14:11,Philipians 2:10, V.11 says"And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." Whether they will be doing it in heaven or hell; God will judge.
  • Irene123 on Matthew 24 - 9 years ago
Matt. 24:1-14, speaks of what is going on now, and has been going on for a lo-ong time. This is 'sporadic' and mild tribulation - compared to the all at once world-wide tribulation when the anti-Christ will rule. Because of Rev. 7:14 we know there will be GREAT trib. saints. How - we aren't to know at this time; that's God's business. BUT - they won't be saints that are left behind at the Rapture.
  • Lu2677 on 1 Samuel 28 - 9 years ago
"Satan held captive every soul that died" Are you saying that David,Moses,Abraham,Isaac,Jacob,Daniel,Joshua, and all the other godly men that died before His crucifiction, etc, etc were not godly men? Did they worship satan? I hope for your soul's sake you are not saying this! Irene.
  • Irene123 on Matthew 16 - 9 years ago
J.W. - "turn the hearts of the disobedient to the just." That's an interesting way to put it. Another is - the hearts of the fathers - the believing Jews - to the children - the hungry Gentiles. And this is what happened with Peter and then Paul. Their ministry took them from the believing Jews to the Gentiles. The Jews were the 'fathers' in that they heard first, then they produced children.

Julius - If the hair thing seems non - sensical to you, remember God telling Moses in Ex. 17:6 to 'strike' the rock, then in Num. 20:28 to 'speak' to it. Moses obeyed the1st one, but, as he was angry the2nd time, he disobeyed. God was testing him. To us the rock thing seems - trivial, BUT - it was GOD'S command, and He is to be obeyed. Moses lost out on Canaan because of his disobedience.
  • Irene123 - 9 years ago
V.5 - refers to the practice of these new female saints of cutting their hair when they were in idol worship. To God a woman cutting her hair (even just 'bangs') is a sin against HIM, not the world. A woman's hair is her GLORY. Why? No one knows, but - everything else being as it should, i.e. men with short hair - women are easily distinguished from men from a distance at certain angles.

Mcw, 1:27 says "...male and female created he them.” One of each.
  • Irene123 - 9 years ago
    J. Berry - God is light, by Himself, without a sun. Rev. tells us that. What I said before, about His way of talking to us, He doesn't always make things plain in one verse. He wants us to 'search' the scriptures when a question comes up. He said this himself, "Search the scriptures, for in them ye think ye have eternal life." Jn. 5:39
  • Lu2677 on Romans 6 - 9 years ago
Forgetnot,Are you saying one cannot recognize a saved person?Last part;Matt.12:34"out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh"John10:5 (a saved person will not follow a stranger)John10:27 (Jesus said)"My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me" As in Isaiah11:2(does the person claiming to be saved have such things?)And 1Corinthians14:14. Saved=heeding God's word, repent.

Dear Vuiswa kganathe; Do you believe that Jesus is the Son of God? Have you been made to feel guilty because of sins and things you've done wrong; and have prayed to God in Jesus' name with repentance? Have you resolved in your heart to from now on turn your back on your old ways and the world, to follow Jesus?
  • Irene123 on Genesis 1 - 9 years ago
    J. Berry - Gen. 1:3, then go to Rev. 21:23. God has a way of talking to us thru His word that only with the Holy Spirit in us to enlighten His Word , can it be understood. He 'hides' His word from those who try to twist it to their comfort. Even with His spirit in us - it sometimes takes awhile for enlightenment to come. Not because we are 'dense', but because there is a time for everything. cont.

This question, of where the wives came from, has been covered quite completely before. In the beginning, as also in the times just after the flood; marrying siblings and cousins was considered normal, as they were replenishing the earth with the human species. It was not considered a perverted or unclean thing like it is today.

Genesis Chapter 1 and 2 are the same creation account. Chapter 2 just goes into more detail.
  • Lu2677 on Deuteronomy 28 - 9 years ago
John 10:5 (don't follow strangers;false teachers, those teaching false doctrine-traditions of men can easily become false doctrine,a stranger might be one who leans on his own understanding,a stranger would be anyone not in the truth) John 10:27"My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me" Jesus knows his sheep, and they know him.

BSP from 4 mths ago, Isaiah 6; Isaiah was not "overwhelmed with a feeling of privilege" but he was convicted to his uttermost being, about his own uncleanness and that of the people among whom he lived. BIG DIFFERENCE! The first thing we all must be made to feel and know by the Spirit's conviction is that "You are not fit for the presence of God!" This is the reality of our case, and of the world.
  • A disciple on Isaiah 6 - 9 years ago
"Then said I, Lord, how long? And he answered, Until the cities be wasted without inhabitant,
and the houses without man, and the land be utterly desolate, and the Lord have removed men far away, and there be a great forsaking in the midst of the land." How many Scriptures do we need to convince us, that, "He that ENDURES TO THE END the same shall be saved!" There is a reason why God has us here.
  • A disciple on Isaiah 6 - 9 years ago
"And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not..." Because they do not turn and repent at God's counsel, and will have none of His reproofs; the world walks on in gross darkness, and is appointed to punishment and wrath. "Blessed are Your Eyes, for they see! But to them IT IS NOT GIVEN!" the innermost workings of our thoughts matter!
