Great psalm91! Give the reader the "courage faith" in the Lord. Enjoy reading psalm 91 everyday.
  • Alesha on Psalms 23 - 9 years ago
One day my mom said look up palms 23:1 and read it everyday and remember it and it was my first chapter I read by myself. I am doing good in school,my attitude has been good.
    Amen😇

Because the "wise as serpents" quote ISN'T a word for word EXACT quote - I pray someone doesn't jump all over me ............
  • Irene123 on James 3 - 9 years ago
Jas. 3:17 - " ... wisdom ..... is ... pure, peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy." Wisdom; we all desire to be wise; "be ye therefore wise as serpents but harmless as doves; wise in our speaking, thinking; but harmless in the same.
  • Irene123 on Romans 3 - 9 years ago
Bruce - Of course I knew that, and so does Mike Wms. I agree, it could have been stated better - now that you made me look at it from a different angle. But, the 'main' point of the statement is not the redeeming, but the ecumenical 'reforming' of the world. That's what Ch. Sheldon wanted to do. He just didn't understand 'salvation'.
  • Clarify (very small portion) ily - 9 years ago
What was stated as the testimony of Jesus Christ is a very small portion of the testimony of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the Word of God.
  • Matter of Importance Rev 12:17 (very small portion) ily on Genesis 1 - 9 years ago
with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. Do you have the testimony of Jesus Christ in your heart? You may have trouble following any of this if you do not . John 10:9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture... I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life
  • Lu2677 on 2 Peter 2 - 9 years ago
2Peter2:12 "natural brute beasts;speak evil of the things they do not understand".I would like to add to my other post. The people this verse is describing are also false "Christians". A false "Christian" is not necessarily one who is a backslider, but one that attends "church" out of tradition of family or for show. One who professes to know God, but doesn't, this person goes after worldly things

"Jesus answered and said to him, You are the teacher of Israel, and these things know not? Verily, verily I say to you, That which we know we speak, and that which we have seen we bear witness of; and you receive not our witness!" If God sees and knows the innermost parts in us, and tells them to us; it must also be, that we too who are having those innermost thoughts must acknowledge them indeed.

The woman who came out to the well at noon-day, was the first one in that town whom the Lord was sent to talk to. There is so much to wonder at and learn from Jesus, how to think about others, and then how to talk to them. He came into a world where everyone was lost, and wandering aimlessly without a shepherd, and trapped in sins. Its the open heart receptive to the truth that God seeks to save.

Can you imagine some Church leader throwing out John the Apostle, or any of those who supported Paul? ( 3 John 9-11) But everyone that is really and truly of God, will receive whosoever God sends to them. If they know us not, it is because they know not the Lord, whose we are. For us also, we must remember to be gentle and kind to every bruised reed and smoking flax; considering our own frailty.

    Yes Maria
  • A disciple on 2 Peter 2 - 9 years ago
I think its important to read the Epistle as a whole, and to consider all its parts in that context. As we read in the first part that we are made partakers of the divine nature and furnished with all we need to overcome and never stumble, when we earnestly and diligently do all the things to ensure and confirm our calling of God; then set next to the kinds of opposition and contradictions of men.

So MUCH "parroting" of others' sayings, and guessing at the meaning of Scripture! Why is it so neglected to teach the younger to be quiet and wait on the Lord? Knowledge and understanding comes by continuing in the Word in reading and DOING; and by asking in prayer and waiting for growth and maturity; and by time and patience, through proving faithful by many trials. A novice has none of THESE!
  • Lu2677 on 1 Timothy 2 - 9 years ago
To answer the comment"women did not teach back then because they were not educated" 1 Timothy 2:11"let the women learn in silence with all subjection" (this is during assembly with the saints, during a time of learning" The reason Paul gives is: v.13 "For Adam was first formed then Eve" V. 14"And Adam was not deceived, but the women being deceived was in the transgression."
  • A disciple on Jonah 3 - 9 years ago
How do we pray? Matthew 6:5-13 the Lord Jesus tells us exactly: first; not to do so as an actor under an assumed character to put on or give a false or misleading appearance to conceal one's true nature, motives or thoughts - NOT as a hypocrite! Not for fondness of praise from others in Church or on the streets; Not for "giving light to others;" Not as the heathen, acting out of superstition.
  • Joyce Ballentine on Jonah 3 - 9 years ago
God in control, put God first , humble is the way. If he tell you to go right go to the right. We like Jonah rebelled against God by running in the opposite direction. but that ok God is a forgiving and loving God we get a second chance
  • Lu2577 on 1 Samuel 1 - 9 years ago
For the one who wrote;women were not suppose to "teach" in those day because they were not educated, not the case today". 1Sam.1:15"poured out my soul to the Lord"Luke2:37Anna was a widow, she did not depart from the temple, served God with fastings and prayers, night and day."Ruth,Esther,Sarah,Mary.( LUKE 10:39; women followed Jesus and was taught by him. Women were educated in the ways of the Lord)
  • Florence AlexanderYou can trust GOD on Isaiah 41 - 9 years ago
You can trust God no matter what the problem or situations he is able to handled it.Keep praying keep believing don't give up on your dreams it shall come to pass. God is not a man that he should lie.He keeps. His word psalm 37:4-30. Psalm 23:1-5
  • Irene123 on 1 Samuel 28 - 9 years ago
No, you are being judgmental. It does NOT become 'my' opinion if I don't give scripture - if one takes the time to reference a word or more to find the scriptures. Here are your scriptures: Ps. 68:18; Eph. 4: 8-9. I post to people on here who are concerned with the word of God; not with 'debaters'.
  • Irene123 on 1 Samuel 18 - 9 years ago
    correction on 1 Sam. 18:9: it was v. 11, not 9.
  • Irene123 on 1 Samuel 18 - 9 years ago
1 Sam.18:9 - I saw a posting on here that said if we follow God faithfully - we will never see death. That's not right. There are many instances of 'mortal' death in following God.
  • Irene123 on 1 Samuel 19 - 9 years ago
I love Matthew Uche's testimony. It was 'spot on'!!!
  • Irene123 on 1 Samuel 19 - 9 years ago
1 Sam. 19: 20- means God ALLOWED satan to put an evil spirit in Saul. God is in control of - everything. God gave Saul plenty of chances to follow God. At some point in our lives He will leave off 'striveing' with us, if we refuse to turn to Him.
  • Emilyn Luithle on Hebrews 1 - 9 years ago
I never read that Lord Jesus said that He is God. He had been saying My Father. So I concluded that He is s true Man and God gave him a special power to redeem us. But deep in my heart I am not really happy. So I prayed that God give an answer to my question. Suddenly I read the Hebrews 1. I have always encountered this chapter but never understood the deep meaning. Thanks God for the answer. Amen
  • Irene123 on 1 Samuel 20 - 9 years ago
I am NOT being 'holier-than-thou, nor judgmental, but HOW can anyone read this chapter, 1 Sam. 20, and not know what the arrows were all about??? It's made so very plain.
  • Bruce on Romans 2 - 9 years ago
Clg: All Men Created Equal? Is that The Paper John Hancock Signed? I Don't think that quote is in The Bible.
  • Peter A. Okebukola on 1 Samuel 18 - 9 years ago
When one is possessed by the devil, rationality goes off the window. Saul is possessed and obsessed. God was with David and He shielded him from the rants and attacks of Saul. So, if we are on the Lord's side, protection is sure.
  • JoAnn Hutcherson on Jonah 3 - 9 years ago
According to my experience with reading God's word the Old Testament showed various ways of how people reveranced God. The word also tells us that we can approach the throne of God with boldness in time of need.
  • Geraldine cole on Psalms 37 - 9 years ago
Praise the Lord Jesus he is a awesome Father and I am bless to know him and I thank him for his gift of The Holy Ghost and for drawing me to him as his child because no one can come to him unless he draw them and if we don't have his Spirit we don't belong to him Amen
