Irene; cont... Looking back on the history of Israel in the Bible, shows the reason for their contempt of the faith of Christ through the ages; as it was ever the thing they stumbled at, that they were not allowed to follow the gods of the heathen, or do their abominations. So God took some from the very place of that evil's nativity, to show Israel AGAIN the Supreme power of His will over all!

Irene; the word in the Greek; (Magi); actually is, "Persian Astrologers." What I think is so interesting, is how God can speak to a totally lost people, and bring them to seek Jesus; and that He will be able eventually to fill the whole world with the knowledge of God, as the waters cover the sea. The practice of astrology was one of the evil imaginations from the days of the building of Babel.

"A Fresh Look At Matt. 28:19"; Trinitarians favorite scripture is, in reality, one of the best vs. for Jesus name one God believers. It is easily rendered so by asking the simple question, 'What is the name'? The answer is: JESUS. Jesus ALSO said, "That repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name." Peter got it exactly right with Acts2:38, Peter again, Acts 4:10-12; 10:1-6.

" ... and John was clothed with camel's hair and ate locusts and wild honey." John wasn't the reincarnation of Elijah (Elisha? sorry, can't recall which). Just as Elijah's mantle fell on Elisha - the mantle (Ordaining) fell on John. There was no 'reincarnation'; that's witchcraft and witchcraft is rebellion - 1 Sam. 15:23. And no, I did not MISQUOTE; I did not intend to quote.

    V. 54 - " ... in remembrance of His mercy." NOT because Israel was doing God's will as a nation. A God that cannot lie. Even when He sent them into bondage - His mercy was there. He told them to "pray for the peace of the city they were in, so that they would have peace. His mercy endureth forever. Israel is still going strong, battered but not forsaken.

    V. 36 - the angel Gabriel told Mary of Elisabeth's pregnancy. When you think on it, it seems 'odd' because now everybody concerned knows as soon as the couple knows. But then you think of the distance between Mary and Elis. and also their lives were just the same ol' same ol'; AND Elis. was 'old' so ...............

    Hello Saints,

John, GOD's will is to be obedient to his word, have the conduct, and mind of LORD JESUS. If we behave like the lost, then their is no hope. The Jewish people are awaken, and I have faith that they to will all come around.

    Hello Saints,

I know church folks, who never pay tithes. I wonder what happens to people who go on home to heaven, who never paid tithes? Do you think their may be some laundry to do in heaven?

Jesus Word! What a GLORIOUS treasure!! And to learn to use it as He did. I can't remember off hand if He used 'other' references to help explain what His word said, but Paul did, so it's okay to use other refs. Some on here say it's not, that God's word is ALL we should refer to. That's fine, nothing wrong with that, but they should allow us who use 'other' refs. the same courtesy.

Jesus Word, the Bible, is very interesting (if we will notice, instead of rushing thru it to find scripture to argue with others views); interesting in that Jesus NEVER once 'argued' with even the Pharisees. He gave them His Word, it made them angry (as He said it would) and they plotted, with the Romans, to kill Him. The same thing happens today, i.e. Isis, al queda, etc.

God will take care of those who trust in Him. As long as we remain faithful in serving Him, we won't have to worry about oppressors, because He (God) will fight our battles for us.

    V. 8, He that committeth sin is of the devil, for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested that He might destroy the works of the devil. V. 9, Whosoever is born of God doth not commit.
  • Word on Revelation 7 - 9 years ago
God is a God of the living not the dead. Anyone who has read the Bilble knows that there are no souls in the graves. Christ when crucified went to the tomb which is the other side of the void known as hell and brought those out from all the way back who had lived by the law but didn't make it and Christ save them before He sat on the throne. Paul teaches of the two bodies we have flesh-spiritual.
  • Peter A. Okebukola on Luke 8 - 9 years ago
We learned in verse 1 that Jesus "went throughout every city and village, preaching and shewing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God". So, He did not miss out any city or village to avoid the excuse that they did not have the opportunity to hear the Word, see the miracles and see the Saviour in action. Today, we also have no excuse as the Word is now preached throughout the world.
  • A disciple on Genesis 11 - 9 years ago
Mr. Smith; Consider what the LORD said, with the view that they had raised up a city and a tower of rebellion against the heavens. Read Psalm 2 (for example), and think of that unrestrained "imagination" as that they thought to cast God out from the world and all influence upon the hearts and minds of men; like they do still to this day. The evil seed planted in men's souls, is coming to the full.

"...and they shall turn away [their] ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables." Now most of us are quite familiar with the really gross errors and sects which are obviously off from the Scriptures. But what also might be meant by; (as the Lord Jesus warned to beware of); the MANY who say all the right things, but are in truth gone aside, and are out of the way? What is, Another Gospel?
