  • Sakana on Matthew 24 - 9 years ago
It's interesting to note that 1st Thess was the oldest (according to most scholars) of his epistles. Not only does he not "bring it up again," going forward always gives a time element. After Tribulation. Or at the Last Trump. People apparently assumed "anytime" we could gather. Paul wrote again (2 Thess) to say no, you misunderstood. There are 7 trumps, we gather at the last. ( 1 Cor 15:50-52).
  • Sakana on Revelation 17 - 9 years ago
As far as 7 mtns people bring up Rome (city on 7 hills) as Babylon, but really a 1-world system sits on 7 hills (continents, i.e. whole world). But if you need it literal, Israel ALSO sits on 7 hills. Mt. Zion, Mt Olivet and so on. Rev 11:8 shows us where 2 witnesses' bodies are lying, "where also our Lord was crucified." Jerusalem has always been focal point. Will be heart of 1-world system.
  • Mari on Ezekiel 3 - 9 years ago

  • Sakana on Revelation 11 - 9 years ago
Hi Les, not sure if you were directing that at me. The only thing I can think of that I didn't provide reference was the fish and loaves. IF that's what you're referring to, that's just a thought I had one day while studying. Heh, again, that's if you were talking to me. (I just didn't want to not respond in case you were.) Apologies to all for wasting comment space if not. :)
  • Librarygal143 on Isaiah 60 - 9 years ago
Amen! Thanks be to you, God, thank you for these words.
  • Anne on Genesis 25 - 9 years ago
I think that Jacob cared about his future more than Esau did his. Esau just wanted to satisfy his appetite there and then and did not think about what he was agreeing with. We should not be blinded by lust of the eyes
But keep our eyes on Jesus.
  • Fania Macklin on Psalms 2 - 9 years ago

  • Irene123 on Hebrews 10 - 9 years ago
"Not forsaking the assembling of yourselves together as the manner of some is ..... "; 'forsaking' does not mean being ill, or injured and HAVING to stay home or in hosp. It means 'willfully' not attending. Many only attend church on Christmas, lent, Resurrection Sunday,, christenings, etc. And all churches have more services than that a year.
  • Irene123 on Hebrews 7 - 9 years ago
Quote, " ..... Hebrews is not meant for Gentiles ..... " unquote. Matt. 24:14 - And this gospel shall be preached in ALL the world ... unto ALL nations; ... "; 28:19 - " ... teach ALL nations ... "; V. 20 - " ... teaching them to observe ALL things whatsoever I have commanded you ... "; ALL the world was not inhabited at that time JUST by Jews.

  • Akinduro Akinpelumi on Psalms 16 - 9 years ago
Your victory and success in life is the function of what you can see or what you are looking at. Keeping your eyes always on the Lord and fixing your eyes on Jesus christ means that you have changed your focus from seeing your life problems, challenges, troubles and hopeless situations. Keep your eyes on Jesus christ as your solution, your helper, savior , the author and the finisher of your faith. Let your focus be permanently on Him. He's on your right hand to fight for you.

  • Irene123 on Hebrews 3 - 9 years ago
" ..... suffering is not joy ..... " Well, God's word says different, by none other authority than Paul. But then some discount Him because of what GOD gave him concerning women in Cor. Even men discount him because of this. Anyway, as to joy in suffering for Christ (after all, didn't He suffer for us?) Heb.12:2; Jas. 1:2; 2 Cor. 6:10; 2 Cor. 11:23-27, v. 30.
  • Nkechinyere Enwere on Isaiah 60 - 9 years ago
Isaiah 60 verses 1 - God is asking to stand up and do that which is impossible, That He is the light and He shineth to every believer of the gospel. ....Arise i.e, Stand up ...shine for thy light has come. He has given us the power boldness to challenge, conquer, and possess. Amen

  • Irene123 - 9 years ago
To Marshall - Well - not actually the whole Gospel, but the whole definition of the Godhead, which is so very important to understand - even before we can have faith to go on to Acts 2:38 and be saved.
  • Irene123 on 1 Timothy 3 - 9 years ago
Thank-YOU, Mari - for your encouragement. We don't get very much, do we, but that's good - keeps us humble. And, no - to others that see this , I am not boasting of my humbleness. I've learned some from being on this site from y'all.

  • Jason on 1 John 5 - 9 years ago
I believe Christ has already nailed our victory to the cross. By accepting Jesus as our Lord and Savior and walking in His ways we are demonstrating our faith in Him. Trust and obey for their is no other way. We must be obedient to the Word of God. Work out our own salvation with fear and trembling. We must trust in Him. He'll bring us to that place. Just keep our eyes on Jesus, not the waves.
